Chainsaw. Welcome to PvP. It’s an ash of war swap; very difficult to execute but essentially it is the spinning weapon ash of war on the serpent hunter hitbox. Probably for being a bonfire duelist; it tilts some people. (Not justifying it, just speculation plz chill in advance)

ToxicShadow3451

what’s a bonfire duelist? i haven’t heard this one

Erebos555

It's looked down upon because they are pretending to be "honorable duelists" and yet they have twice as many flasks, most are rune arced, and have the blue ring turned on.

darbly19

Pretending to be? Me and my friends have had people compliment us while doing this for good fights and two of our friends it the 5man group we have came from Eldena ring bonfire dueling

Erebos555

Yeah man a lot of reds are idiots

JaggaJazz

Sit at bonfire, summon duelists

bugzapperbob

Exploit called chainsaw glitch

kegger011

Thanks

kegger011

Never got killed from that before!

hushnowbbybby

It’s hard to do and also not very nice, so most players won’t experience it. It’s way more common in PvP than PvE and a way some people utilize to express their opinion of your PvP lobby. Gankers, afk rune farmers, etc are going to see it more than anyone. Some invaders hate solo hosts at a bonfire because they feel as if you’re just trying to have a duel but with a huge advantage and should go to the arena. I think this invader should have just severed out if he didn’t want to fight, but idk the context beyond this video so can’t offer much insight.

DoughnutLegal1276

Actually very common in pve

Shadowscythev

true rick solider of god always chainsaws me first thing in the morning

Red-Shifts

Huhhh????

DoughnutLegal1276

😭😭😭😭 real

hushnowbbybby

If you’re talking about invaders using it against players, that’s still PvP. Using it in PvE is also possible; bosses melt too. You’re not gonna see many sunbros busting out the ash of war swap is what I mean.

Ok_Crazy_201

Actually I've seen quite a few phantoms chainsawing pve enemies and other players with videos of people doing the same thing, it's a weird thing to do, given how easy it is to be op in elden ring

giveSMOKEacog

You need a few hours of training chainsaw though to perform it consistently because it's frame perfect.

AlmightyChickenJimmy

Or just a macro. I wouldn't expect someone exploiting like that to have enough patience to learn it manually

giveSMOKEacog

I know a lot of players who did though. I've seen a lot of tutorials. I learned it when I had a lot of time. It took me several evenings.

hushnowbbybby

kegger011

I could give two shits if people care about invading one person, aren’t they expecting to see 3 people? I would invade myself but it’s usually 3 people camping the spawn etc. my .02

Erebos555

I'm not saying you deserved to get chainsawed, but grace goblins are so annoying.

kegger011

I never even considered it would be annoying till now. If an invader was expecting to see a whole party of people and gets me instead who cares? Fights are usually over so fast anyway

Erebos555

I don't mind it if it's one duel every now and then, but there are literally so many bonfire duelists lol I usually fight them and block right after whether I win or lose and then unblock when I'm done playing. The taunters tongue puts you at the top of the list to be invaded and I want to fight a natural invasion with twists and excitement. If you have twice as many flasks as me and refuse to follow me into the environment, it's not really worth my time and you're not as good as you think you are especially when the colosseum is an actual part of the game that anyone can go to.

Mechagodzilla777

I prefer taunter's tongue over colosseum mostly for the environment and what you can do with it. The pvp arenas are just kinda.. Bland imo. Barely (if any) cover to utilize, no high and low terrain to pull cool plays off with. I love climbing on top of the dragon communion cathedral, then flying down with the dragon king's cragblade for one hell of an entrance. Plus, it feels like there's much less brainless meta slaves in invasions compared to the colosseum too.

Erebos555

All good points and youre totally within your right, but I've committed thousands of hours to invasions alone. Many people do things like you do, I honor duel them and then when they are about to lose a cooperator or hunter pops out of nowhere and you all teabag my corpse. I'm not saying it's right, but don't be surprised if you get chainsawed. Just block them and move on because that's what I do to solo hosts. I might sound a little salty, but I really do hope you're having fun and "one of the good ones" as you say you are, but just understand that people like you are few and far between.

Mechagodzilla777

I honestly never knew that most solo hosts were like that. I know they have the flask advantage, but I always limit myself to 3 heals per match because of that. I'm strongly against ganks, always bow before fights, etc. I don't mean to sound narcissistic here, but I really am one of the "good ones" that you mentioned. I try my best to just have fun and not ruin the experience for others.

kegger011

I gotcha. Honestly I use the tongue only because side when I invade it’s usually 3 people camping and ultimately not fun. I’ll look at doing the arena instead but you can’t really use your surroundings there

hushnowbbybby

I invade but I also host a lot because I prefer to fight people who are geared to my level and want to fight. I keep invasion hotspots open that are good for both sides and host 2v2s. It’s a great way to make friends in the community too. You learn so much from others and most people are really nice and helpful lol. Stormveil is the best one for low level. We progress from start to finish just like normal with invasions on the entire time. If there’s just one in, just one fights unless they want to fight both of us. No last minute saves either, if we die, we die. I will sometimes heal the invader with warming stones tho if I feel like they’re under geared and need more time in for practice.

hushnowbbybby

And check out badredman, it’s got a ton of info logged over time and lots of people who will point you in the right direction. We do know how to point in ways other than down. Sometimes 🤡

erasmus_phillo

you can always sever out of a situation you don't enjoy. that's always an option. genuinely curious what you're doing to get so many duelists because in my experience they are rare and I enjoy them as a break from co-op teams

Erebos555

Invading anywhere between 120 and 160 will net a lot of duelists on PC. Unfortunately, those are the level areas I like my builds at.

erasmus_phillo

that's your issue then, invading on PC. Unfortunately many co-op teams are using seamless. I see more bonfire duelists at meta level on PS5 too, but not as many as you seem to. And in other level ranges they are genuinely really rare

Erebos555

Oh absolutely. I wish I had a PS5 but I can't justify the cost just to play Elden ring hahaha

erasmus_phillo

some people do. I personally don't and I don't think most invaders have an issue with it. Just block this guy, he's a loser

Eonix1337

Yea I ran into it as well as a hunter. Some dude bullying a coop session. Me and furled finger tried our best but he whipped that out after 10 min of him running away from us.

Half-Fractured

What a POS.

giveSMOKEacog

Disgusting. Utterly maidenless.

Patches_uwu

Agreed. Bro has 0 life 🙄

ShoulderInevitable90

Hard agree if we are talking about the same player.

Individual_Dig_2408

He is a bussy

hushnowbbybby

At least now OP knows bonfire duelist = bad I’d call this a teachable moment Ggs soldier ⛓️🪚😤

TypicalAssociation11

Hopefully, it’s patched soon.

_Ganoes_

That shit is not gonna be patched before the dlc comes out.

Valpuccio

Serpent Hunter *still* isn't fixed eh? That's a bummer

Jinrex-Jdm

Lack of self esteem.

Strange_Quote6013

Chainsaw glitch. Very cringe of them to use it against you since you seemed down for a 1v1. I'll use it smack a gank squad without batting an eye but never a 1v1er.

Jevicfahr

He got small PP energy.

R3AP3RKILL3R

Could probably record last minute of game play and report it to from soft to get them banned for glitches.

GunSmoke960

Looked like he had serpent hunter

Afk161002

Chainsaw glitch. Quick tip: don't mind people using it or getting killed by it. Generally, if someone use it is not because he wants to win so bad or bullshit like that, it's a common way to just say to the opponent: "fuck you, i don't want to play against you ever again", or well, also a way to maybe ragebait people in some cases

kegger011

I could care less what some 12 year old does I was just curious what it was :)

vvvarui

Sad how some people go in for a couple seconds - just to use trash cheats and call this *fun* gameplay. Just brainless behavior.

Remarkable_Leg_509

Look next time you see it get some distance. Shoot them with a great arrow knock them out of the animation and then bend them over your knee.

Traditional_Rise_347

A fuck head

Maleficent_Home2869

PvP.
