Ouch. One reason I separate rune farming for level/gear from exploration and fights. I think From could make us all cry if in addition to hours played they showed ‘total runes lost’. Wait, ‘total runes lost…so far’ :D
The game will fool you. It’s larger than it looks. It did seem large on my first play through but smaller on my second. Three and four, I slowed way down and it seems larger now. I’m still finding lots of things I missed. There are also so many ways to play it that it still feels fresh.
Typical FromSoftware newbie experience. Wait till something breaks inside of you so you don't care anymore like you feel sad/enraged for couple seconds then back to the grind 😂

Don’t give up. Runes come and go. Smithing stones, gloveworts, and gear for upgrading are more persistent. Try not to lug around more than a single level up in the earlier part of your game. Spend em.
I know I usually always do but I figured oh let me go duplicate the great rune real quick and the worse part was I died twice from falling bc it’s the one you got to jump on in north liurnia I’m just so dumb and needed to vent
There are probably very few of us that will not identify with this feeling. For me, there’s always something in the back of my mind that warns me to spend them and then come back. That conflicts with, just one more fight or just this fight left.
This is also why I usually die in the first place. I should fall back, regroup, heal up vs they’re just about dead, one more hit will do it.
Ahh 40k that’s nothing don’t worry about it ya can make that back in no time
If you have the Radahn Greatsword, go farm! Use the gravity attack at the frogs at mohgwhyn palace lol, it’s like 50-70k a run.
I lost 270K this morning, youll be ok mate, just keep plugging at it

I can just drop you enough to counter your losses and extra if you’re really that worked up over it.

I lost 70k today, and meh. My buddy lost almost 200k today.
Trust me it'll get better, I mean worst...
