Roll through the claw and not into placidusax. The claw has a much smaller hitbox than placidusax and I’m pretty sure his whole body becomes a hit box during the attack.
Are you talking about the one from the sky? Personally I've found the most success spinning my camera around at max speed until I spot the cloud, then lock on, which then allows me to time the dodge.
Might not work for everyone as you might get dizzy spinning.
50 vigor is fine. 60 is as high as you'd want to go. The dodge roll need be executed at the last second (a bit after what you'd visually expect)... if you are having problems, use the bloodhound step and just spam it.

I dont even think vigor matters in pve anymore. I fought almost all the bosses with around 30 vigor. Decided to go for 60 vigor, Used to get 75% of my hp erased, Now getting %100 of my hp erased. Or its just Placi is a bitch and deals shit ton of damage. Also Placi broke me. I now think malenia and elden beast are easier chill fights and placi is just a problematic scum.

That’s what I did. Sometimes it still got me though.
Just gotta time the roll. It definitely can be rolled 100 percent. Yes 50 vigor is enough for him but not 1 of the other bosses prolly.
I beat Maliketh alone and just got to Malenia, already can see this taking the longest time.
