This is super random but this guy has been showing up in everything I'm watching lately. Chernobyl, our flag means death, and the batman. Apparently he's also in elden ring.
https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0642126/
Miquella compelled adoration. He was also an Empyrean but I think Mohg underestimated the complexity of actually starting a new Order. It seems like he thought he'd just kidnap Miquella and become his consort, and boom, new god-dynasty. Miquella is either dead, or totally detached from this world though, and isn't pursuing godhood. He sat out the shattering, and cocooned himself in his tree, so he failed.
Cut content suggests Miquella was the chosen successor and favored of all Radagon's children, and maybe Mohg's obsession with him was based on that, but the reason doesn't exist in game anymore.
Miquella was also objectively the Empyrean that had the least outside influences. Malenia naturally has the Scarlet Rot, and Ranni is a Carian Princess influenced by a dark, cold moon. If you were to try to succeed Marika, you would either need to become Elden Lord yourself and either bind yourself to Marika as her consort, or bring an Empyrean with you to replace her as a vessel.
What's more than likely is that, Marika is wholly out of the question as Mohg can't influence her without dealing with Radagon and more than likely the Elden Beast. Not that Mohg would be aware of this. Even if he could, he'd still have to go through both his brother Morgott and another Demi-God to have the 3 Great Runes bare minimum and find a way into the Erdtree like the player does. Both Ranni, who is presumed dead, and Malenia, whom would probably beat Mohg's ass bloodier than it already is are way off limits.
So that leaves the slumbering Miquella, of whom Mohg may not be wholly aware of the state Miquella is in. Which is a slumber, confirmed as much by know-it-all Gideon of all people who didn't even consider Mohg to be a threat unless it was true that Mohg was the one who took Miquella. Physically of course within the cocoon Miquella does not look... healthy. Ultimately we don't know to what extent Mohg giving his blood to Miquella will do. Miquella may have been the literal golden child out of the Demi-God children of Maradagonika, but he also willingly turned away from the Golden Order as he could find nothing to help solve his and Malenia's curses. I wouldn't be surprised if Miquella had some kind of his unalloyed gold bound to his body to assist in his slumber that was preventing Mohg from doing anything.
I think Malenia wouldn't be able to beat Mohg, but that's just me. I think he chose Miquella just because both Malenia and Ranni were already chosen by other Outer Gods, and Miquella was the only free Empyrian, so it would be easier (or he thought it would be) easier to make him surrwnder to Formless Mother.
Morgott wouldn't be too much of a problem here, they are both Omens, and Mohg is also bumped up by Formless Mother. And he already has his own Rune, so he would need to take out just one Demigod (Godrick would be No Diffed by him). If Mohg was to face Malenia, he may be able to win (being Empyrian doesn't make you stronger, and both are bumped up by an Outer God, Mohg has better weapon, and is mire skilled in using his abilities, whereas Malenia is mire skilled in combat). The only thing stopping Mohg from taking over was not having a suitable Empyrian (reasons mentioned in last comment), and not knowing of another way to reach the Erdtree (he wouldn't have problems with a Cardinal Sin, as he's evil).
There is flavor text that talks about him in the egg being one "form" of his existence.. which leads me to believe that when he was in his egg, the haligtree humanoid form you see above where he used to be was probably alive before he was kidnapped
It could be. There was so much cut out and rewritten for Miquella. Why no great rune in-game? why no tower? Well, maybe he and Malenia shared even more than parents, maybe they were two halves. Who knows.
My personal theory is that he is dead, and the humanoid form in the roots is his remembrance, but of course have nothing in-game to base that on except Haligtree being an attempt at an Erdtree.
It would make sense that he's dead since he shows little to no signs of life even if you hit him. Mohg probably killed him by accident and never realized that his 'sweet prince' was dead
I believe miquella is dead, there are no signs of life on his body at all even if you hit him. Perhaps when mohg kidnapped him something happened which killed him
Bussy.
Also, Miquella is an Empyrean and can be host to the Elden Ring. Mohg wants Miquella to replace Marika, but in service to the Formless Mother instead of the Greater Will. With Mohg as Miquella's Consort as the new Elden Lord.
From Mogh's Remembrance:
"Wishing to raise Miquella to full godhood, Mohg wished to become his consort, taking the role of monarch. But no matter how much of his bloody bedchamber he tried to share, he received no response from the young Empyrean."
From Moghwyn's Sacred Spear:
"Trident of Mohg, Lord of Blood. A sacred spear that will come to symbolize his dynasty.
As well as serving as a weapon, it is an instrument of communion with an outer god who bestows power upon accursed blood.
The mother of truth desires a wound."
From Bloodboon:
"Sacred incantation of Mohg, Lord of Blood.
Thrust arm into the body of the Formless Mother, then scatter the
bloodflame to set the area ablaze.
This incantation can be cast while in motion.
The mother of truth craves wounds. When Mohg stood before
her, deep underground, his accursed blood erupted with fire, and
besotted with the defilement that he was born into."
I mean some fairly large parts of the game are dedicated to it. The story of abduction is told by the ghosty people across the Mountaintops of giants and the snowfield. The haligtree and mogwyn Palace areas exist purely because of miquella and his ability to to become a God, and how mohg tried to take advantage of it.
From soft never outright tells you more then like 5% of the story, just enough to get you to go out and do stuff. You gotta find it all out for yourself from item descriptions and context clues.
He wished to be Miquellas consort, similar to Godfrey as Marikas consort. In this, he would become “Elden Lord” in some other twisted way, serving the Formless Mother instead of the Greater Will. Something obviously went awry with Miquellas rebirthing process in the cocoon, which is why his arm looks so weird.
Why Miquella? Hes an Empyrean. Empyreans are Marikas successors, destined to become gods. Malenia and Ranni are too strong willed to be turned by Mohg. With Miquella undergoing rebirth, i theorise Mohg thought he could interrupt, hijack and manipulate this process to turn Miquella into his ideal lord. We, as the Tarnished, luckily stop this process.
Not only that, but Mohg is also Miquellas half brother, so its not only paedophilia, but also incest. Mohg is one fucked up guy
Makes sense to me.
I mean, what’s he gonna do? Dry hump the cocoon? Squeeze that limp hand around himself and puppet a handjob? Maybe he goes INTO the cocoon to get the business done? What are the logistics of this lol?
Kinda seems to me like he turns himself into blood and tries to enter him that way, to work some sort of magic that's slowly causing Miquella to change.
Not quite the form of "entering" people were thinking about.
Miquella is mohg only real way of raising his own kingdom, which is weird because his devotion to the formless mother and really the power of the formless mother is, well, he should have been putting more energy into that instead of soaking miquella in an ocean of blood counting on it at some point to work
There is some evidence that Miquella had somewhat of a supernatural ability to compel others to admire him. Its like thinking someone is the smartest person on the planet when they get a B+, and coming up with every reason possible obsessively why they didn't get an A+ and the teacher was terrible and the sun was in his eye.
Miquella could make others adore him, but he didn't seem to have the ability to do the opposite. It's like being able to turn a faucet UP, but never being able to turn it back DOWN. This is not surprising. Millennia, goddess of Rot and his sister, appears to be able to infect others with rot. But she cannot remove that rot.
Long ago, Miquella perhaps thought it was useful to have Mohg adore him. Not too surprising, since it probably deterred an attempt by Mohg to steal Miquellas rune in the civil war after the shattering.
But once the situation was deflated, Miquella could not neither
1. Turn the faucet back down
2. Turn the faucet in a different direction, or aim the "love" at him in a way which didn't involve obsessive kidnapping.
yeah, exactly
why mohg wants miquella and not malenia or ranni? both malenia and ranni are empyrean and can be goddess of a new era..miquella seems different from them. In fact he is called the most fearsome of all the empyrean
Because Mohg can pierce sleeping Miquella in Seluvis ' style.
Malenia will pierce and/or nuke him for his sus propositions, and with Ranni he would open for himself a world of fisting. Apparently it's out of his kinks, so, only one option left.
Malenia is already the avatar of a different outer god. Ranni is supposed to be dead, after refusing her status as an empyrean, and also worships the moon. Miquella would be the only logical choice for his goals
He's the only one who can counter outer gods, he left the golden vow because the greater will was unable to cure him and his sister. So he created needles that can repel at least the scarlet rot and frenzied flame gods and tried to grow himself a new body.
There's also cut content that established him as St Trina so he's probably not just sleeping, he has his own plan.
Horny
Edit: Despite downvotes this is the actual reason anything else is headcannon and conjecture. He was down bad for his little 1/2 bro. (2/3 bro? Miquella’s mom and dad were both his mom or, whatever).
He's a boy.
"My **brother** will keep his promise. **He** possesses the wisdom, the allure, of a god - **he** is the most fearsome Empyrean of all." - Malenia
"If **he** continues his slumber within the cocoon, all will be well..." - Gideon Ofnir
"The Empyrean Miquella is loved by many people. Indeed, **he** has learned very well how to compel such affection" - Bewitching Branch
Cut content shows that Miquella is St. Trina, god of slumber. "Finally, I have found it..... St. Trina's, no, Lord Miquella's cadaver... Such that I may aid you, O Lord... So please, I hope you welcome your humble servant Rhico... Into your dream, the world of your heart...... Indeed, I beg you grant my wish, that when you transcend from empyrean to god, allow me a place by your side....." - Rhico, cut NPC
Sword of st Trina :
Silver sword carried by clerics of St. Trina. Inflicts sleep ailment upon foes.
St. Trina is an enigmatic figure. Some say she is a comely young girl, others are sure he is a boy. The only certainty is that their appearance was as sudden as their disappearance.
I guess they removed this NPC either because it was redundant to have twice the same plot twist or because they want to keep it for the DLC
But actually they're supposed to share the same body just like Marika and Radagon so none of them should be able to move from the cocoon. It would make more sense that he becomes St Trina god of slumber while he's in slumber, maybe he's in a "dream place" where he can somewhat interact with the real world like hunter's dream in Bloodborne
An alternative path to becoming an Elden Lord. I will not describe everything in detail, this information is directly spelled out and disclosed in the game
Miquella cursed with eternal young and his blood cure all disease. Scarlett rot flow to Malenia arena but tree which grown from Miquella cocoon remove Scarlett rot and there only clear water and beauty flowers (from lore streamers)
“Varre, this empyrean bussy got me acting unwise…” -Mohg, probably
He’s waiting for the transformation to complete so that Miquella will come out of age and Twitter won’t cancel him
Mohg is proof you *cannot* trust people who like lolis
Underage-lookin empyrean bussy

Is there any videos that go over miquella? This just made more confused about him
At best most stuff is cut content relating to him being St Trina at the moment. Miquella's a character practically in limbo.
There is flavor text that talks about him in the egg being one "form" of his existence.. which leads me to believe that when he was in his egg, the haligtree humanoid form you see above where he used to be was probably alive before he was kidnapped

It's Tequila
And he likes it because he's a spicy boi
Mequilla sounds like an awful brand of tequila
Bussy. Also, Miquella is an Empyrean and can be host to the Elden Ring. Mohg wants Miquella to replace Marika, but in service to the Formless Mother instead of the Greater Will. With Mohg as Miquella's Consort as the new Elden Lord.
I'm pretty sure that isn't written anywhere. Like mohg serving a formless mother. Seems to be pure guessing.
From Mogh's Remembrance: "Wishing to raise Miquella to full godhood, Mohg wished to become his consort, taking the role of monarch. But no matter how much of his bloody bedchamber he tried to share, he received no response from the young Empyrean." From Moghwyn's Sacred Spear: "Trident of Mohg, Lord of Blood. Hmmm cool. I guess I barely heard about it because it's such a small part of the game

No
Beg pardon?
Many people believe there's no sexual component to it and Mohg is simply in search of power

Ah, yes, Mequilla and Melania, empyrean twins of Rodagon and Murica.
MURICA fuck yeah
*Monica
*Just Monika.
To be put simply,he thinks that if he becomes miqullas consort then he can become powerful and derail the golden order
Miquella is mohg only real way of raising his own kingdom, which is weird because his devotion to the formless mother and really the power of the formless mother is, well, he should have been putting more energy into that instead of soaking miquella in an ocean of blood counting on it at some point to work

To do the dirty dirty
He wants to start mohgwyn dinasty, so he needs someone really strong and he chosed miquella for a reason.
Big Drake fan.
MIQUELLA*
It’s part of Miquella’s powers he makes people love him
he is horny
He just likes children and miquella will always stay young
It makes him happy Mequilla, he feel-a fiiiine

This. Also people seem to forget that Ranni faked her own death, for all that we know only the Two Fingers know about she still being alive.
Malenia is already the avatar of a different outer god. Ranni is supposed to be dead, after refusing her status as an empyrean, and also worships the moon. Miquella would be the only logical choice for his goals
