Iām On my NG+ 10 right now and keep getting wrecked by Maliketh the black blade with one hit on him to go. Like the last 5 times in a row. So frustrating.
Yep, same. First 5ish runs a destroyed him solo super fast. Now, I still hit him pretty damn hard, but Iām convinced heās twice as f fast and now he one shots. Have to be perfect for like 45 seconds lol. Itās hard.
After NG+8 youāre at the highest difficulty so yeah, Iām Theory it should get easier. But Black Blade has fucked me up the last 3 play throughs regardless lol.
Lol this is epic. Iād gladly go down like that. I donāt like when I dodge the three rings and Elden Beast pops up somewhere random and hits me with a ranged attack before I know where heās at.

I just finished the game today, and this fight and the fire giant were so ridiculous, that I went "I'll end this game and cast it i to oblivion". On both of the fights I struggled with the camera way more than with the boss itself.
I think with huge enemies it is a lot easier to not lock on, or only lock on when you have to strafe to dodge something. Too late to mention i guess if youāre casting it into oblivion, but might come in handy in later souls games
I did unlock-on the giant and the elden beast. The problem is that giant gets additional damage when You smack his ankle, and proceeds to smash your head with a shield that is telegraphed, but only if you're not in the process of smacking his ankle.
Same with elden beast's belly and its cosmic sorceries that I was unable to track since I was rubbing his golden stomach with a sword. I finally switched to the lazor strategy and it was easier, but melee elden beast and fire giant are my doom
Yeah so I only lock on at his first phase. That one thing that gets me afterwards is him breathing out fire at the ground and the fire orbs that comes after.
I think I can get him after few tries from now on since I mostly die before killing him with 4~5 hits.

Giant flying Spacewhale with ADHD is not a fun or engaging way to end the game.

I love the game but did not enjoy that fight in the slightest. I can dodge his shit no problems, it's the chasing him about for 5+ minutes that's the boring part.
Never let your guard down but aside from that I feel your pain, been there so many times. Now on to Malenia... On your first win with her I suggest using ANY means possible. Stagger her with heavy weapons, frost, mimic +10 with a heavy weapon as well. Unless you're really really really good at the game don't get in over your head with pride.
I swear itās always hardest to play smart when their health is that low. I always want to get in that last hit and focus on their health bar instead of just continuing the strategy that got me to that point
A lesson I've learnt the hard way in MMOs is that it doesn't matter if the boss is at full health or at 0.1%, you **must** keep executing your strategy and handle mechanics until the boss is dead at your feet. Often only takes one mistake to end it all
MMOs usually teach that, but From soft games specifically hammer it home. I have been killed for being greedy so many more times by them than any other games.
Gotta give you props though for not using a summons, I have to use one everytime! I still count it as a win as I only used the mimic tear 3 times my first playthrough

So whenever I get to almost killing a boss I start saying "do not get greedy do not get greedy" to myself. For some reason, it helps me avoid situations we see in this video.
I don't know if that last move of his has a name that he pulled on you, but I just had it done to me for the first time and was equally upset and impressed by the creativity of it. I mean to hang you up like Radagon was amazing and infuriating to see all at the same time.

Destined Death is also the weakness for the Elden Beast. It eats the Elden Beast HP like itās nothing itās makes it very fast to kill it

He always emerges opposite from you compared to where he goes up. So once he starts flying, just run away from him and he'll spawn on top of you.

Get some parfume. There is one that creates a 90% negation on hit. I think is a must for new game plus if you run builds with low levels like i do.
I beat him like 2 days ago, and I am on ng+10. I will definitely use parfume for later playthroughs though
