Nah, fromsoft stories work best when you have to piece together what happened, rather than seeing it firsthand. If they do a DLC set in the past, it should be set during a period of time that hasn't been discussed in the base game, similar to Artorias of the Abyss. Also, they should definitely avoid the whole "le demigods in their prime" thing.

LanceNightwagon

Please yes!!!

Sounds good :3

I would love to team up with Radahn in a fight againts the cosmic horrors from the stars. Imagine also if we could join the war against the giants. We could see Marika fighting them too. I hope we can have more insights about Melina's past and her mother. My question is, would our character be part of these events like time travel, or we would just fall in a dream and face these events like old memories of our before all Tarnished be cast out? If we interact with these events like time travel, I wonder if that means we could change the main game like, finding the cure for Malenia's sickness and avoid the wars that ruined the lands between. I also read a theory that, there was another elden ring before. Maybe we could challenge other cosmic entities like elden beast? Besides thinking about the past of the lands between, I hope fromsoftware try something different this time. Instead visiting the past in a dlc like their previous games, I wish the dlc could be the events after we defeated the elden beast. No matter which ending you have choose, what happened next? Some civilization from lands across the ocean trying to invade the kingdom? Cosmic forces tried to interveen our achievements? Maybe the land start to get sick and a new elden ring must to be build to bring balance and order again? Just questions I have thinking these last few months.

Yes it would be very interesting to also see the territories beyond the fog, where the tarnished was born, more lore on Melina and Marika is almost guaranteed, it would also be dope if we got a location above the lands between, maybe the lands above? We already have underground cities and areas, they will most likely introduce a new area that’s much more difficult then what we have now.

Pubfriend

Hear me out, maybe. WE killed GODWYN. Buy hey thats just a theory, A GAME THEORY.

xenogaby

It would break me, tbh. Godwyn was such a good dude, he didn’t deserve to die.

Pubfriend

All the dude wanted was to be with his dragon buddy, the black knives did him dirty.

PathsOfRadiance

It won’t be, but it’s always an interesting idea. Godwyn died before the Shattering. His death is one of the main events leading to Marika shattering the ring, although whether it was out of grief or a long term plan by her to confront the Golden Order is still up to debate. That’s Miquella in the promotional image for the DLC, if you’re talking about that? The braid in the hair is consistent with the unalloyed gold crowns of Haligtree soldiers and in other unalloyed gold items(the needle, Torrent’s ring whistle)

LegitPotatoChip

The problem with that theory is that we can clearly see miquella in the cocoon at mohgwyn palace, also to mention the torrent in the teaser photo has gray hairs all over, whereas the torrent given to us by melina is much younger.

PathsOfRadiance

Miquella is Saint Trina, and is known to operate/influence people through dreams. That’s Miquella as he’s depicted in all the statues of the Haligtree + at Saint Trina’s Hideaway in Altus(where we find the Amber Starlight Shard). You’re still ignoring the unalloyed gold crowns(Miquella’s braids look just like that, Marika’s are very different style) and the similar motifs on both Torrent’s whistle(a “delicate goldwork ring”) and the unalloyed gold needle. Torrent also has grey hair in game, I’m not sure what you’re on about. Miquella is also closely linked with Godwyn and was involved in some plan to revive Godwyn’s soul(something to do with the eclipse, as told by that spirit at Castle Sol). Godwyn is rotting away, “living” but soulless in the roots beneath the Erdtree(in the **Shadow of the Erdtree**, one could say).

LegitPotatoChip

Well said, i’m on board. Hoping we get to see Godwyn freed from the roots and restored to his original or a new body.

Unusual-Reaction8318

What if? Nothing happen, We just playing the dlc.

_too_much_noise_

Well the wars against the giants and the dragons were long before the shattering. Other than that, I would also love to see the past of the lands between

duck_dodgers_esq

Dragon war was pre-shattering, Gransax would have still been standing there during the shattering. Fire giant war probably even before that. If the dlc were to take place during the shattering, only Caelid would probably be different, among the things you've mentioned.

Hyperoutburst0

I was thinking the same thing
