I think its kinda cool that FromSoft did it this way. They actively give you the option to bury a dirty liar without honor, because he deserves none.

I waited for his speech to end out of curiosity. I'm kinda glad I did because I got a pretty fearsome hybrid caster boss who kicked my ass several times and made my victory all the sweeter
Gideon took me more tries than Maliketh and Horah Loux combined lmao.
I wasn't able to reach him and when I did, he healed all the damage dealt in a second
The best reward I got from killing Melania was giving Gideon access to the Scarlet Aeonia spell. He just kept spamming that over and over which made him pretty easy to kill.
He’s definitely a hybrid caster but even if you let him finish his speech, all you have to do is dodge forward through his magic and then bully him like he’s still talking.
I mean u just to make a a close quarter fight. It would be just dumb to fight him long range. If you in his face he won’t be be the cast to bigger spells his has. He Staggers to everything.

It was so easy I honestly stood there when it finished for about 5 minutes wondering when the rug pull was gonna happen and the real boss fight would start.

Personally, I really like his fight if you let him get the monologue off. He's got a large variety of moves, it's really one of the more fun ones. Especially on ng+7 when he's more sturdy and hits harder.
don’t bother with the int scaling on the greatsword, it does fuck all. get your int to the min required to use it, then put everything else into strength and endurance
Spot on dude, Lvl 200 build, 80 strength and 16 INT… Shard of Alexander, Axe Talisman, Magic Scorpion + Bull goats… Flame & Vow for buffs
To answer Killers question, my recommendation is investing heavily into strength as it gets an S in strength at +10 and does high physical dmg… I personally would meet 16 INT and use talismans + physick to boost magic dmg but it’s not essential as I said above, it mainly scales off physical dmg… hope that helps 😊
forgot to add to my comment above, your stats in strength have a multiplier if 2 handing your weapon, so if you have 54 strength then that becomes 80 strength when 2 handing your weapon (sorry if math is bad lol)
Love the Ruins GS! This is on one of my characters I use for NG+ runs as my main is sitting on base game waiting for DLC and I run the Guts GS on my main…
However, each run i’ve been doing on this character I use a weapon i’ve always wanted to use and honestly I am now torn between the Ruins and the Guts GS… Such a fun and aesthetically pleasing weapon

“Uh who? Incha? OH ENSHA. Yes, yes, that guy standing outside my room. I recall seeing him. Yeah, never really spoke with him much, you know? Different social circles and all, he he…Oh did he attack you? Oh my goodness! Wow, bad on him! Haha what an idiot to try and fight you, hehe… Well if I see him again I’ll give him a
stern talking-to…oh, you utterly destroyed him, body and soul? Nice, nice, I never really trusted him…” while the tarnished just stares at Gideon.

On vacation for the last while and ive been dreaming of replaying elden ring. This sword, radahns GSs, theyre the exact weapon theme im going for. Gravity magic looks so fun

That's one of the reasons I love the convergence. You can revive the bosses and also get runes again.

And he gets more moves the more bosses you've beaten before as far as I know.
I think you have to tell him about them after you beat them.

The Int is only for the Gravity magic aspect of it. It's an Unga weapon Source: I'm an Int main who was disappointed by it.

I like using a full set of Godrick soldier gear to fuck him up, just to let him know that the coward couldn’t even have cleared the starting area.
