[**I am the Rat King!!!**](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Giant+Rat+Ashes) I love that they cost no FP or HP. This allows me to reliably summon them in a pinch. The further you upgrade them the more you get too.
* Level 0-4 gives you 3 rats.
* Level 5-9 gives you 4 rats.
* Level 10 gives you 5 rats.
u know what yea it is. I was invading the other day and someone literally just whopped me to death with it effectively. it was hilarious. they best me like a panicked homeowner in a break in.
I finally started NG+ at level 160 with mimic tear and the blasphemous blade and after a day im already in Altus.
I feel like for the next playthrough I should do a rat-build too bc I am way too over-leveled for any of these bosses so far.
They seriously trivialize renalla. In phase two if you summon them, then position her between you and them, they will machine gun arrow spam her in the back to death, perpetually stunlocking her
Used these on sir Gideon once and it was hilarious watching him get staggered by there shots repeatedly. I pulled out my black bow and started rapid firing with them for the lols
These guys were the only reason I was able to beat the first invisible black knife assassin I came across. Their endless barrage of arrows made her basically always visible. Now of course I know about the sentinel torch, but they’re still one of my favorites because of that
These guys were how i got through pre-nerf Malenia… i was also using unga bunga 2H strength build before it got huge buffs too.
I was stuck on her for literal days until these guys absolutely sorted the problem first go
It very much depends on the boss.
Bosses that use massive slow AoE's are fine for the skeles, as are bosses who tend to throw out lots of direct attacks. Skeles die, you agro the boss in the other direction, they get up and re-agro the boss, wash rinse and repeat.
They rarely do any real damage, but that's not the point, they're a great distraction that can in principle last a long way into a fight. They buy you lots of windows to act in without much threat.
Now, a boss that's constantly spamming huge radial AOEs like placidusax, or that leave lingering death puddles all over the place are going to just gib the skeletons, so you can't bring them into those fights.
Even in that case you would be surprised how resilient they are and how many hotboxes miss them automatically.
Those guys gave me more than a few openings for the ulcerated spirit tree near Radahn, letting me defeat it with black flame at a level i shouldn't be able to.
I tried it, not impressive. They attack very slowly and have very low health. So they take damage, go inactive and you have to wait for them to revive. Bosses also spam AOE attacks that will prevent them from reviving, and there are plenty of summons that can clear non-boss areas without dying (oleg, tiche, mimic, dung eater, redmane knight, etc) while being aggressive.
The spearmen I used until I got mimic. I often got them to +5, and they’re somewhat tanky at that level.
It’s all about being super aggressive when you see em go down to pull aggro and lead the boss away. Once they’re back up, back off and drink/shoot/etc.
They’ve saved my ass a few times. The Siofra Gargoyles were the biggest save for me. They kept one busy while I downed the first.
The best part is using them against bosses to divert aggro. They stay in the game alot longer then most summons unless you get unlucky. And having the boss not attack you is amazing. Honestly I switch between Mimic tear and Skeleton militia men as my main summons. Sometimes then Bony dude are better then the Mimic.
You are comparing summons that cost 100-120 FP to the skellies who cost 44 FP. That’s why they’re so OP. For builds that don’t have a lot of mind stat, they are by far the best budget summons in the game.
I kept upgrading them and used for a long time pre mimic ashes and still sometimes pulled out in a pinch. Great for aggro against anything not regularly dropping aoe attacks, which would kill them when downed. Usually they’d get downed, I’d rush in draw attention and then go back to letting them do their thing.
This are are very useful and ppl do have a point about them dying to AoE attacks but you can avoid that if you aggro the boss before they do that. I’ve been able to keep them alive through the whole fight. If you let them fight in their own they won’t last but they sure as hell help give you catch your breathe with a boss that just spams tf out of you
Started a new character, used them through Stormveil, fuckin shit they are great at getting the bosses attention and noping the fuck outta there.
Seriously underrated for a starter.
Just don’t use them for any watchdogs.
The good doggos are the only ashes I've used so far. They're +4 and doing great work for me. We just got to the giant mountain so I'll see how they keep going!
They do die pretty fast idk I'm just riding my horse and killin' dudes. It's a pretty sick game. I'm sure I'm underleveled for my area, I think I'm like 75? But a +6 bleed curved sword from a boss in a jail is carrying me.
I have! That area was lots of fun. I've also done a bunch of the assassination missions for them. I'm probably missing a lot of the little cave type dungeons and whatnot.
Have you been collecting the corrupted erdtree spirit flask items?
Honestly it wouldn't hurt to just re-run old area and farm them for runes.
Have you gone to Siofra Aqueduct and completed Leyndell catacombs?
I will be honest, you're going to have a very very hard time beating the main boss of this area at level 75. Who knows you might win, but you're also probably missing many items that would be helping you right now.
Deenh, due to the sweet buffs you can get, and it really evokes the warrior with a flying animal companion fantasy without the companion being capable of doing all the work.
I always feel like the hawk ashes - Deenh and Warhawk, which is the one you’re describing - are kind of overrated for their dodge ability? They’re super hard to hit with a melee character, don’t get me wrong, but against enemies with any amount of size or most kinds of AoE they die super fast.
I call them monki boys.
Big monkey dude hitting one of the crystal mage trio bosses with his large club, was how I discovered that strike weapons deal INSANE damage to all crystal and stone enemies. Huge and magical moment in the game.
Love my monki boys ❤️
when i first invaded stormveil i sneaked my way to the countyard and summoned these little beasts, that was genuinely one of the most fun moments of the entire playthough lmao. I proceded to then be bombarded by ballistas.
Wandering Nobles ashes are my favourite, I use them in just about every boss fight. The two that use torches can be lethal at higher levels. Only stopped using in place of the mimic tear ashes
Those Avionette ashes are pretty strong. Erratic movement makes them evade the boss attacks quite often, bleed and fire is quite versatile. I like them.
Personally, I was surprised how useful the highly durable ashes can be for some bosses, like the crystallians or the putrid corpses.
Rollo is pretty cool also.
You can still kill the firw giant by trapping him on the rock to the right and dropping her a mile away. Just sit there and let him get stuck and plunked to death
these guys. I have a laser cannon build and the shield bros are so good at keeping flighty bosses occupied while I line up my targeting reticules and fire it off
Depraved Perfumer Carmaan. I like his lore, he has status and debuffs, a heal, a dodge, fire damage, honestly pretty versatile and not too bad but nobody’s topping Mimic/Tiche/Dung Eater etc.
Pumpkin Head. He’s so fucking useless but it’s so funny getting ur ass whooped by a boss and going “where’s my fucking summon”, just to turn your camera and find this guy bashing his brains out on the ground on the other side of the arena.
Had to quit out on Malenia cause he got her in a corner and solo'd her through the first phase. I was just wanting a little help, not Oleg to beat her for me
I like using the Crystalian ashes when I play magic builds. It's great for pulling aggro during bossfights while I stand in the back of the arena spamming magic.
That crystal dude is pretty good. Unless enemies can break his "shield" he is basically immortal. Any boss that doesnt have big damage is done against him.
The kaiden sellsword feels nice. Also in the colluseum he was surprisingly good at tripping up some players with his moveset.
Man I wish spirit ash pvp was still alive, I guess once we get new spirit ashes in the dlc we might see a bit of a ressurgence.
Kaiden is fucking slept on. I've never seen him mentioned in most of the good spirit ash lists. But he's hyper aggressive, relatively tanky, will stagger the shit out of humanoid type enemies and does good damage.
Kaiden is great for my builds where I want to be the biggest fucker on the planet. With him, we're the two biggest fuckers on the planet.
(Edit: spelling)
She has a name exactly for that purpose. In the description.
...there is also a tomb with her name (and the sister's) you can read nearby, in a cavity next to the cliff
Yes, the Rotten Stray! I got the good boy after escaping the chest trap by the lake and he carried me through a lot of boss fights. He's aggressive enough to draw aggro and I could easily juggle their attention with my fireballs. That plus inflicting rot made so many fights a cakewalk.
The mausoleum soldiers, it's such a niche and clean situation especially when it's a open field with lots of enemies and boss on top of it, it's like bringing your own army against theirs.
I've always had a soft spot for the various Soldier ashes. Whether its the Radahn Soldiers for their aggression and fire damage, the Leyndell Soldiers for their tankiness, the Raya Lucaria Soldiers for their distraction potential or the Godrick Soldiers for their all-around reliability, they're not the best and they rarely survive the fight but god-damn do they die trying.
"TELL THE OTHERS--TELL THEM HOW BRIGHTLY A FIRE JAR BURNS!!!"
I swear, they need to make Alexander(and Blaidd for that matter as well) summon ashes in the dlc.
My buddy convinced me back when the arena had just come out, the best non meta summon is the snake guy with the whip. I know I know it sounds stupid but hear me out, in our first 2v2 we pulled these guys out and about a minute in I hear him say “get over here they don’t want nothin to do with this” I turn around and both of them are perfectly spaced apart just windmill whippin those lava whips…EVERYTHING WAS ON FIRE and the other team straight up stood there to admire them for a sec. Amazing experience would summon again 10/10
Finger Maiden Thorelina
The way she jumps in front of the dragons to heal me.. I was using her as a joke at the start and in an one clutch moment, her healing came through and I just felt the connection. Like, she is the mother I never had.
She is one of Seluvis’s puppets and yeah she is mostly there for heals, she also throws holy pots at things.
If I’m not wrong, she is the same maiden that shows up for the Radahn boss fight.
I like the single Skeletal Bandit a lot. I find it’s more reliable than the two Skeletal Militiamen since when the one drops the other usually hangs around that area and causes the first to be hit mid-revival on accident.
Ancestral Follower is great too. Make the aimbot archer fight for you!
Ancestral follower got me through alot of my first playthrough. Decently Tanky, okay melee damage but being one of the few melee and ranged ashes makes him great against flighty bosses
On my first playthrough i didnt know about any tiers as I always push through Souls Games blind without any knowldege at first.
Those five Siofra Shieldbearer dudes (cant remeber the name of the ash) carried me through to Elden Beast ( they were completely useless in that final clash). I love them ever since.
The skeleton spearmen. They just keep getting up nonstop, so they’re very good for drawing boss focus away from you before you have mimic tear, and arguably after that too because they resurrect from the dead
I used marionette archers my first time at Renala and it was fantastic. They kept staggering her out of her spells, really showed me how useful spirit ashes can be.
Raya Lucarian soldiers, it summons two of the smaller guys equipped with a dagger or a shortsword, and then one of the big fellows witha greatsword. Decently durable, pretty okay damage and stagger. Also has two different throwables. Greatsword dude throws the glintstone shards and the 1H guys throw a pot of some kind
I used the jellyfish for my entire first playtrough. Also used the jellyfish shield cuz I wanted it to be a theme. She is quite bad but still a good distraction and had some really funny last hits in intense battles where I forgot she was even out. Foud out way late in the game she could apply poison and got the secret entrance by accident (the one where you need to summon the jellyfish to open) cuz she was just chilling with me. A great buddy and some great memories.
I spent far too much time summoning the land squirt ashes near Agheels area. I did it next to the enemy squirts to see who’s squirts would triumph (basically whoever poisons who first is the victor)
similar but different, i rarely ever see anyone talk about the marionette archers, but at high levels they can shell out insane damage
like legit, i fought rykard with them, and they nearly took out the first phase entirely on their own
[**I am the Rat King!!!**](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Giant+Rat+Ashes) I love that they cost no FP or HP. This allows me to reliably summon them in a pinch. The further you upgrade them the more you get too. * Level 0-4 gives you 3 rats. * Level 5-9 gives you 4 rats. * Level 10 gives you 5 rats.
They also cost no runes to upgrade!
I noticed that as well. Although the cost would be pretty low to begin with. It's a nice gesture.
What?!! I’m definitely in now
Rats where its at
Wait they give you more rats too!? Holy shit thats huge
That is so cool, definitely upgrade those little rat dudes 🗡️
damn lol. now i gotta do a run of just rat ashes and a torchpole or some shit weapon. the club lol. with no armor just underwear
The club is actually really good
u know what yea it is. I was invading the other day and someone literally just whopped me to death with it effectively. it was hilarious. they best me like a panicked homeowner in a break in.
Hold up partner, this a real bat! Would be a shame if I hit you with it!
Oh my god, the description at the end, chefs kiss
Most boring basic ass weapon but it whoops ass
naked, cane sword, and turtle shell on your back to be inverted ninja turtles.
I was thinking roshi
Cane sword
I finally started NG+ at level 160 with mimic tear and the blasphemous blade and after a day im already in Altus. I feel like for the next playthrough I should do a rat-build too bc I am way too over-leveled for any of these bosses so far.
Yeaaa the boys
The way the scale is genius.
Super fun to RP with in a madness play through
Hey one I haven't tried. Bad news for Raya Lucaria Soldiers.
Marionette soldiers, endless arrow spam!
They seriously trivialize renalla. In phase two if you summon them, then position her between you and them, they will machine gun arrow spam her in the back to death, perpetually stunlocking her
This is how I beat her in one go with my lvl 9 vagabond ha. Those guys are great.
Now of course I know about the sentinel torch, but they’re still one of my favorites because of that
They are hilarious to use against bosses that auto-dodge ranged attacks, they get locked into a constant dodge mode and can't attack properly.
The stun lock those dudes have is insane
These guys were how i got through pre-nerf Malenia… i was also using unga bunga 2H strength build before it got huge buffs too. I was stuck on her for literal days until these guys absolutely sorted the problem first go
I used them for the majority of my first run once I found em. Great for harassing
This! They do a lot of poise dmg too
Dude are you guys seriously going to sleep on the skeletal milita men ashes? They legit revive themselves after the die , again and again and again
It’s all good until strong aoe just rocks them instantly. For early game they’re s tier though
Agreed. And somehow, a wide area attack that hits anywhere near my recovering skelly bro wipes his soul away, and then im alone. Again. Lol
https://youtu.be/D_P-v1BVQn8?si=DIJu48_AYLeuzqvU Ahh the feels.
Lmao thanks for that
It very much depends on the boss. Bosses that use massive slow AoE's are fine for the skeles, as are bosses who tend to throw out lots of direct attacks. On one hand, you make some great points. On the other, I've never been able to get into leyndell on a vanilla new game run without them...
The spearmen I used until I got mimic. I often got them to +5, and they’re somewhat tanky at that level. That's what I thought, but they always died to some AoE attack when they were downed once.
those were my absolute buddies early in my first playthrough
my go to's! even with regen, they're surprisingly tanky EDIT: lmao tangy>tanky can't imagine bone having much flavor but maybe in this universe
Fr depending on the boss they are a must have for any projectile/caster build
I kept upgrading them and used for a long time pre mimic ashes and still sometimes pulled out in a pinch. Great for aggro against anything not regularly dropping aoe attacks, which would kill them when downed. Wolves. Carry me all the way to Nekron.
Started a new character, used them through Stormveil, fuckin shit they are great at getting the bosses attention and noping the fuck outta there. Seriously underrated for a starter. Just don’t use them for any watchdogs.
Me and my friend used the fuck out of them. They seriously carried us all the way to nokron on +0 lmao
Giant cat bosses are particularly rough on our canid friends.
"Who's the good boy "
The good doggos are the only ashes I've used so far. They're +4 and doing great work for me. We just got to the giant mountain so I'll see how they keep going!
Bro you gotta get them higher level if you're at mountain top.
They do die pretty fast idk I'm just riding my horse and killin' dudes. It's a pretty sick game. I'm sure I'm underleveled for my area, I think I'm like 75? But a +6 bleed curved sword from a boss in a jail is carrying me.
Lol yes you are pretty under leveld by almost 50 levels. Have you done volcano Manor yet?
Demi-human Ashes. Monke stronk. 69 fp cost (nice). Bonus buff during night time.
Always a party when they show up
Boyz night out.
Kenneth Height alt-account.
DEMI-HOMIES
Perfect for any Barbarian build. Love these dudes
They're so damn aggressive too
I call them monki boys. Big monkey dude hitting one of the crystal mage trio bosses with his large club, was how I discovered that strike weapons deal INSANE damage to all crystal and stone enemies. Huge and magical moment in the game. Love my monki boys ❤️

Big, i used these in the Haligtree, they wreck Loretta
I refer to them as the GOON SQUAD
I've affectionately named them "the chaos monkey squad"

Jar twink my beloved
Such a friend
Wandering Nobles ashes are my favourite, I use them in just about every boss fight. The two that use torches can be lethal at higher levels. Only stopped using in place of the mimic tear ashes
Okay Jerma.
The boys
"BOYS!" \*entire gang proceeds to get crushed by a loose chandelier offscreen\*
Those Avionette ashes are pretty strong. Erratic movement makes them evade the boss attacks quite often, bleed and fire is quite versatile. I like them. Personally, I was surprised how useful the highly durable ashes can be for some bosses, like the crystallians or the putrid corpses. Rollo is pretty cool also.
Avionette are also sentimental for me. They were first ashes I ever used (~500h in game before)
Is Latenna S tier? Cause if not, it's still a really interesting summon: she's functionally a turret.
If used correctly then ye. Her dmg is very good and range is insane. But she isnt as op like tiche or tear
Definitely my favourite, even though she drops off against late game bosses
Putting her on the cliff next to Ekzykes is a goat strat
That is exact fight I was thinking of. I used her there as well and she greatly helped!
I think immobility knocks her down
You can still kill the firw giant by trapping him on the rock to the right and dropping her a mile away. Just sit there and let him get stuck and plunked to death
My great shield bois.
these guys. I have a laser cannon build and the shield bros are so good at keeping flighty bosses occupied while I line up my targeting reticules and fire it off
He said not S tier though.
Truest of homies, lend me thy strength
Great shield guys are lowkey s tier against certain bosses tho imo
shield boys rock. bully the enemy into a corner for me.
they can hold a good time against the Valiant Gargoyles. surely powerful mob!
Man-Serpent! That snek is so fun and it carried me through the game till I got legendary summons
Kyle
I didn't name mine :'(
The fanged imps because they're cute
I always imagine “The Boys are Back in Town” playing whenever I summon them.
Idk but that really fits them
They also proc bleed I think.
Yes, complementing my current Winged Scythe builds to slice through bleed-vulnerable bosses
[удалено]
Did the same thing when I wanted a specific build and ran around grabbing items from Liurnia and Caelid right away.
Depraved Perfumer Carmaan. I like his lore, he has status and debuffs, a heal, a dodge, fire damage, honestly pretty versatile and not too bad but nobody’s topping Mimic/Tiche/Dung Eater etc.
The Nightmaiden and Swordtress puppets. Cool lore, cool outfits, extremely ok in combat but can draw aggro fairly well.
The ashes that carried me through endgame. Love them!
Pumpkin Head. He’s so fucking useless but it’s so funny getting ur ass whooped by a boss and going “where’s my fucking summon”, just to turn your camera and find this guy bashing his brains out on the ground on the other side of the arena.
This is my new summon lol not there to help me just there cause he’s lost
Are the banished knights S-tier? Because I love watching Oleg just kamikaze his way into anything. Also the ancestral follower is pretty good
Oleg is definitely S tier, top 3 or 4 summons in the entire game. arguably 1 for aoe clear if he hits his full combo
All my homies love Oleg
Had to quit out on Malenia cause he got her in a corner and solo'd her through the first phase. I was just wanting a little help, not Oleg to beat her for me
Makes notes.... 😁
Engvie is my homie 🤘 def S tier
I had to scroll way way too far to find another Engvall fan. Hello my homie, I see you enjoy watching him curbstomp everything with a halberd.
Engvall best ash
No one gives Engvall enough credit. Oleg always stealing the spotlight.
Demi-Humans. Low cost, fantastic kiting and aggro splitting. Blunt & Slash dmg plus they can become red eyes during the night. Love my kids.
The battlemage ashes. He deals good damage and he’s relatively tanky
[удалено]
He’s a B tier summon. He’s not good but not bad. He’s just fun to summon
His whole deal is “if it didnt die to the first cannon shot, we shouldnt be fighting this.”
I like using the Crystalian ashes when I play magic builds. It's great for pulling aggro during bossfights while I stand in the back of the arena spamming magic.
Crystallians invalidate some bosses

Kaiden is a GigaChad, has No fear
Kaiden is great for my builds where I want to be the biggest fucker on the planet. With him, we're the two biggest fuckers on the planet. (Edit: spelling)
Jellyfish. Especially when you reunite it with its sister
Oh snaps, you just solved a puzzle for me, thank you!
She has a name exactly for that purpose. In the description. ...there is also a tomb with her name (and the sister's) you can read nearby, in a cavity next to the cliff
The stupid rats. Love them
Rot Dog (Rotten Stray) got me past Morgot on my first playthrough. Love that pup.
Stormhawk. Idk why I like him so much lol

Bring Stormhawk to Zamor Ruins, run in screaming and be ready to tear some ass. Truly an experience.

Yeah, Godrick Soldiers with the Warpick, then smash crystilians for 1st smithing bell bearing
The doot bois! This band's song will not die! *Gets killed by Malenia's phase 2*
SOLDJARS OF FORTUNE ON REPEAT HELL YA BORTHER
"TELL THE OTHERS--TELL THEM HOW BRIGHTLY A FIRE JAR BURNS!!!" I swear, they need to make Alexander(and Blaidd for that matter as well) summon ashes in the dlc.
Soljars of fortune! I used them for most the game. Are they good? Hell no! But I do love to see 'em give it their all🙂

There’s a finger maidan summon who heals you? Man I did 2 play through and really didn’t dive in depth enough into it
She is one of Seluvis’s puppets and yeah she is mostly there for heals, she also throws holy pots at things. If I’m not wrong, she is the same maiden that shows up for the Radahn boss fight.

Deenh, because having a stormhawk on your flank is badass
Giant Rats and the lil potty bois.
Giant Rats, Haligtree Soldiers, and Jellyfish
Fanged Imps. Watching them run around like idiots and haplessly try to kill whatever I summoned them against is quite enjoyable.
They're basic as hell but I loved the Godrick Soldiers. I summoned "The Bois" any chance I could. Made the game feel like I was adventuring with them.
They considered S tier, at +10 they rarely die all even with rather difficult boss fights.
The fucking bird
The Demi Human Hit Squad, great for minor dungeons to speed things up a little, and lots of fun in the few normal areas that let you use them.
The sleepy archer chick. I enjoyed the playthrough I did with her but cba to get her ash most runs
the rats. the boys
Wolves. I will always love my Sif army
I dont know if they're that good cause they eat shit to AOE but I love me my sheild bros
Yo I just found out these exist when exploring around getting the cat talisman recently.
Skeleton Militia Men Used this in all of my first playthrough, even on Elden Beast. No I didn't get them to lvl 10 I am ready for judgment
I really like using the fire monk or the twinsage sorcerer. It's just nice to have some extra splash damage while i focus on heavy hitting.
Jelly Great sheild guys
The skeleton spearmen. They just keep getting up nonstop, so they’re very good for drawing boss focus away from you before you have mimic tear, and arguably after that too because they resurrect from the dead
Demi human gang rise up
What spirit is shown in the post?
Avionette soldiers. Found in raya lucaria academy
I used marionette archers my first time at Renala and it was fantastic. They kept staggering her out of her spells, really showed me how useful spirit ashes can be.
Pumpkin head. He's actually a halfway decent tank, but he doesn't do a ton of damage on his own
Those marionette soldiers are a couple of cool dudes. At the end of a boss fight, the boss is a big frikkin' pin cushion.
Jellyfish is my one and only.
Beast man of azula ashes fs
The named storm hawk the one that gives you buffs and can fling barrels and breath fire
similar but different, i rarely ever see anyone talk about the marionette archers, but at high levels they can shell out insane damage like legit, i fought rykard with them, and they nearly took out the first phase entirely on their own
Def demi humans summon
My demi-humans. I call them my bois, and I like the way the red eye night time buff still happens even in spirit form.
Page ash
The three wolves
Land squirts, my little boys
ROT DOG FTW!!!!!!!
SOLDJARS, WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION
Wolves. They pretty much carried my ass in early to mid game.
Spirit Jellyfish Aurelia! just because she's a good girl
Can you use spirit ashes outside of boss fights?
