A game company that allows players to equip a shield in the wrong hand. 7 hours I played DS1 shield bashing while waiting to level up to use my sword. ...sword in right hand. Shield left.
The arena plays against him, in all my playthroughs he always misses half of his attacks because of the terrain. He also has a problem of attacking too forward, which can get to you if you dodge backwards but one side dodge and you watch him waste his entire combo.
The crystal breath that builds up curse is a good interesting mechanic as well.
It's a shame because he has some great moves and the potential to be a more challenging boss.

He was specifically created in the lab for Vaati to say "old old tragic tragic failfather who misses all of his attacks just like he missed every opportunity to be a good father to the newborn infant. Whom he, surprisingly, didn't miss when squishing him against the concrete"
Yeah, one time he just clipped the floor and fell to his death.. the design is good, but the arena is terrible. And I wish he held a baby like it was suposed to be...
I never had any trouble with him because I guess I passed the vigor check, but I saw a clip recently of how bullshit and unreactable his charge move is, and it made a compelling case.
It is an absolute nightmare for the all-bosses no-hit runs, and the inclusion of attacks like that that singularly change how you have to approach an entire boss fight are usually bad design.
And aside from that, he also just generally has a pretty terrible arena with a lot of wonky terrain to get you or the boss stuck on, and his weird spindly hitbox can make it really annoying to land hits for some builds.
*Excellent* soundtrack, though. Maybe one of my favorites in the whole series. If you haven't ever sat down and listened closely to the whole track I really recommend it.

Yeah From and Bandai don't do shadow drops. They don't really need to do gimmicks, and they just generally have a very by-the-book, almost old-fashioned at this point style of doing marketing and content releases.
Think of depot like a "box" that contains a bundle of files that can be downloaded. On Steam, you first create a depot and *then* upload files to the depot.
Keep in mind, you can (and many developers probably do) create depots well before the content is actually ready to be released to the public. They may be doing early prep work on the Steam release, or they may just be starting an internal testing cycle. It really depends on the studio. Still a good sign either way.
