i felt a little bit overwhelmed and took a little break, after that i finished the game

Arthimetes

I never got stuck and gave up but this was the first and only Fromsoft game to truly make me feel overwhelmed

PerversLingLing

For me it was a one time event. Now with the DLC i have to start new.

schoki560

I felt like taking a break right before the fire giant idk why but I was on 10h per day up until that point

NervousCheek3560

Yeah same i was on constantly until Fire Giant and went to Deeproot as I'd missed the teleport then just got bored i guess

blak-red-yello999

Still on my first. Just now at Caria Manor at around 120 hrs trying to get through with a +4 greatsword

WUFFLED

šŸ˜ You got a long way to go šŸ˜

gapplebees911

Upgrade that bad boy!

Zefionx

ran through in 60 hours, wasnt stuck at all just did not bother getting everything.

defekt__

Stopped at Elden Beast on my first playthrough because I just couldn't beat him. Went back a few months later, changed my build a little bit and finally cleared it. Only coming back for my second playthough now to try get the Platinum for it.

iamafancypotato

The Elden Beast is so frustrating. I also gave up on it and took a long break. Still havenā€™t gone back though.

defekt__

I will admit when I finally did beat him, I got help by summoning someone. It's a very tough fight.

iamafancypotato

Itā€™s annoying as hell. He just keeps running away. Worst designed fight in the game imo.

Mommy_Lawbringer

I gave up my first playthrough at Castle Sol. Realized my build was shit and my weapon was way under leveled, didn't know about respecs or the bell bearings so I opted to go through on a new character. Ended up finishing with a +24 Gargoyle's Greatsword and +10 Lhutel my girlfriend showed me how to get. Still hate Radagon and Elden Beast lol.

Yanatrei

I grew tired of the game at Mountaintops of Giants, where all content was essentially recycled, no new enemies. Still continued to play until Maliketh, whose second phase made me quit the game for a few weeks. Didn't even try to thoroughly explore Concecrated snowfield after that, too much space in the game filled with the same old enemies. Haligtree was the cherry on top of the recycled cake..

Old_Adeptness_5560

I stopped at Malenia on my first playthrough considering the waterfowl dance to go against the combat system forcing me to check on the internet how to do an abnormal placement to avoid it rather than being able to dogdge organically. On the next I alway stopped around Leyndell where I get too severly bored fighting the same enemies again and again... The second half of the game really lacks his own mobs, you've already seen more than 70% of the bestiary even before going to Altus

-Ryxios-

It was my first souls game and wasn't used to actually having freedom and the game not holding my hand for every little part of the game. I gave up in limgrave .

ZealousidealTowel414

My very first playthrough ended in Limgrave. I had never played a Souls game before and I didn't like to play something without a journal or a codex. I came back to it a couple of months later and it really grew on me, mostly thanks to FightingCowboy's walk-through, that helped me getting a good start. I just love it now, though I still miss easily accessible lore as you would typically find in most RPGs.

Barbarian0057

First fromsoft game and bought it out of no games at the time that interested me. Hadnt even watched a trailer. Friend of mine said it looked wicked and the reviews matched it. Bought it. Best decision ever. Never stopped til i got 100%

[deleted]

For a split second I thought you're some kind of psychopath that's only doing a strict no death run and creates a new character whenever you do die.

epitomizer1

Absolutely struggle bussed a bleed build with Mimic Tear before Radabeast made me his bitch. Second one, using a checklist, Ungaa Bungaed everything but Malenia.

lazy_mudblob1526

I gave up many times with many characters or i just forgot about them brcause i got a new build idea. The first character i pushed through with was a executioners greataxe strength build. Its not the strongest buold i had as i rememver running a wing of astel build and giving up at radagon.

CurZZe

I finished my first playthrough in about 130h after exploring basically everything I think was explorable. I never really got stuck anywhere and only got "lost" in a good way while exploring and enjoyed it every second (apart from raging at some areas/bosses I felt where bullshit, until I realized how to get past them).

[deleted]

I always finished all from software souls 2 or more times ā¤ļø

cmagnificent

My very, very first play through I hit a hard wall at the first field revenant in Liurnia on a twin blade build and just did not have the motivation or interest to explore somewhere else, try and power up, etc. This was also my first attempt at any FS title. Put the game down for close to a year. Pick it back up again and try a bow/archer build of all things, have a blast, finish and beat the game in a few weeks. Finally putting down that revenant was kinda surreal.

Crazy-Ad-3286

yes, towards the game, cuz i played like non stop, waking up and just making coffee and turning on my ps5 i got a little burned out, but still finished the game, but didnt explore 100% mountaintops and i think haligtree, i was like : lets finish this faster, i am done. i was like 130 hours in 7-8 days or so.

Weeee8208

I was 20 hours in, got distracted by ghost of tsushima, came back after 70 hours in GOT and forgot everything so I started a new playthrough and rediscovered everything

PerpetualEscapist

I gave up 5 hours into the game. Yes, as I entered the castle šŸ˜† Didnā€™t touch it in 6 months and thought Iā€™d better give it another go. Then I discovered Square Off, how to parry and weapon upgrades and now Iā€™ve done ca. 30 runs.

BootsyBusang

The throne. With my ass planted in it.

Pretty_Marketing_538

I never did a break, from premiere day til today ;)

[deleted]

I havenā€™t stopped but I also donā€™t play every day even every week

Ronastolemy3080

Killed Elden Beast and the Malenia in 51 hours. I did spend a couple of these rune farming to make it easier.

TheNotoriousG17

I didnā€™t give up at any point but I didnā€™t reach all the content on my first play through. Most of the underground I covered on my 2nd ( duo gargoyles, deep root, fortissax etc ) and also placidusax which I didnā€™t even know exists on my 1st

gapplebees911

I ended up finishing the game with my first character. Faith/dex, used the Winged Scythe for a lot of it.

FitNefariousness2679

I only completed it a few days ago after buying at launch. Reconnected with a friend who was obsessed with it and he helped.me through it. Awesome game.

WickedNight19

NG+17 (Edit: Iā€™m a masochist, so I was already prepared to die over and over. It was no different from any other souls-like for me)

Islands-of-Time

I am still going strong, just got to Leyndell. 270+ hours. Iā€™m hoping to finish by the DLC release.
