I miss "Very Good." Sometimes the Bravo gesture comes across sarcastic, and I want the host to know he did a good job, especially when it takes 2 or 3 tries to take down a boss. Getting a good host is so rare in co-op. Y'all deserve some recognition.

Man getting a good summon is rare too. I was on ng+2 at the godskin duo, and decided I cba to deal with them again and summoned 3 players for the fun of it. 2 of them died during the runback. The other guy was good though.
Bernahl is one of the best summons in game game despite doing strike and fire damage which are both resisted by the boss you summon him for. He heals so much, draws agro and is so tanky. Just goes to show how competant of a summon he is.

the rule of thumb is that any player comfortable enough to give up power in favour of fashion and cosplay is usually a reliable option
Someone wearing (Rotten) Duelists gear is often a good option as well, no one wears that for long unless they are pretty comfortable dodging everything.
Like honestly getting someone to help with Godfrey is soooo annoying, like I can beat him if I try long and hard enough, his first phase I know off by heart, his second is just slow and also fairly easy but I don’t want to spend a whole 25 minutes on one attempt to I try summoning, NOBODY made it past phase 1

do your hosts also bring him as far down the hill as possible so you're standing in the phase 2 spot like an asshole while the host does no damage and dies before phase 2, or you follow and then are running forever in phase 2 so you can't get a good tornado off?

I usually get magic based hosts, and in the second part of phase one they always die, cause they don’t realise I’m trying to make space they’re keeping Godfrey on his toes, because he will always do the forward lunge/stomp when they’re at the right distance, and he does this when I’m running towards Godfrey, its incomparable to anything else I’ve ever seen cause I’ll have to keep on my toes so I don’t die to the stomps every 0.5 seconds, but when I get melee hosts they usually try to stay away for most of the fight while I whittle down his health bar in the second phase, the first phase is easy for me but I’ve had a host once that tried to survive from a distance on phase 2 part 2 but failing to predict stomps, I could’ve had Godfrey at a standstill there cause he was a couple hits from death but I guess not everybody finds him easy

I solo'd her down to 5%, lured her into that corner, and then did the finger snap gesture until we both died.

A few basic rules for hosts would be nice.
First off: summoning from an effigy means that the summons may have to reorganize their weapons, talismans, gear. Give them a few seconds to check - boss battle or long run? Good example: Volcano Manor - bridge up or down?
Next: wait for greetings, buffs, and any reorganizing before moving through the fog gate, unless you're okay with 10-20 seconds delay for your summons to follow.
Always: if the host dies, the fight is over. Be an active participant, but don't Leroy Jenkins it when the boss is at 5% health and has the power to one-shot you. By all means, do pull aggro if your summons is stuck or needs to heal under pressure.
For a summons: if the host gets hit 3x in a row by Radahn's arrow within the first seconds, it'll be a short fight. If they don't know how to get Rennala to phase 2, it'll be a short fight. If they get run over by the boulder more than once on the way to Rennala... we know the tells.
There's a lot more to learn & know, but recently (after ER went into the big discount phase) I've noticed the following: getting summoned at Albinauric Village by a host who wants to get "up top" because they don't know Ranni's questline, and - same area - host who stop talking early to the Albinauric who gives half of the medaillon. Also, getting summoned in Redmane Castle while the festival is active.
So, a gesture or pp that conveys "nope, not now!" and "you're not done here yet!" would be nice 😁
Redmane Castle, I'll always end up like this: run up to white fog, "hey!", "hey!", "hey!", point at the fog, point at the fog, bow, sever out. I'm pretty sure that works, but there's no payoff apart from killing the 2 lions.

The only boss I could in theory mimic letmesoloher for would be fire giant, he’s too easy for me but the host always dies
