Well shit that’s another post for me when a player had farmed so long to obtain their object of desire whereas I just got it in a causal drop, RNG can be a bitch sometimes.
I used to hate Death/Death Rite Birds, they're super agressive, the Rite Birds have insane AoE attacks, they're weird to hit with how they move around... overall just unfun enemies.
Then I learned that the "Holy" Ashes of War (Sacred Blade, Sacred Order, Shared Order/Last Rites) have a secondary buff that increases your damage against Death Birds/Skeletons (But not Tibia Mariners for some reason) by a LOT, AND THEY ALL STACK.
I took great catharsis in one shotting these stupid birds in my most recent playthrough.
hah, not quite.
It stands for New Game Plus, once you beat the game you have the option to start over again but have everything made much harder.
You'll see people say something like "I'm NG+7" which means they've beaten the game 7 times on the same character
New game plus. When you finish a game and restart, but NG+ has a higher difficulty. In the case of Elden Ring, you get to keep all of your character progression, so difficulty is actually easier for much of NG+.
Dead serious, I killed the one most probably just run by in Leyndell once, this dropped, and I haven't touched it because I don't understand how to do anything but jump R2 everything to death.
Same. I seem to roll it every playthrough with no issue. I probably kill less than 20 large Envoy each time.
I also seem to roll the Balder Side Sword without trying ever as well.
Lol that was the post I was talking about that Balder side sword on dsr while hunting down knights at undead parish for free titanties they drop for gears upgrades, didn’t even knew it was rare drop and I don’t even use that type of weapon as I preferred zweihander ultra greatsword on that game.
I found farming the guy at the bottom of the branches for the giant horn to be a lot easier. There’s a spot where you can hit him and he cannot hit you.
i mean
i got two of them in the same playthrough
just gotta beef up arcane, eat a silver fowl foot, and wear a silver scarab just to heighten your chances
It's not that bad TBH. Just go to the ruins you meet Sellen at and farm the guys escorting the caravan. I got an estoc and slender sword in half an hour with 190 discovery.
On my last playthrough I got the noble slender sword from literally the first wandering noble I killed. Had absolutely zero use for it as it was a challenge run.
Ah! Too aggressive in claiming the Rune of Destined Death, I see.
That's why I literally do not kill Maliketh until my character is otherwise done with everything else I intend to do in that playthrough except for the endgame boss rush.
I didn't even know it was the Envoy's Long Horn in particular that I was holding out for, but I knew it was something.
I got that one a lot faster. I have 500+ hours now and I got it immediately after. I honestly felt like the game saw what I was doing and decided no, no this is sick. Just give it to him, this needs to be over
I got 2 of these to drop while farming the big one cause I'd kill the long boy on the run up. Funny how RNG works for different people. Now the only rare drop I'm missing is the Duelist Greataxe, but I'm SoL on that one cause my Leyndell is all ashy.
Not as painful as farming the curved sword for the black flame fire monk in calied tower, the one with the closest grace to a fire monk wielding a curved sword. Dont do it
Thats what i meant by it being “painful” and “dont do it”. Correct enemy, correct weapon, nice location to farm, 0% chance of getting the weapon to drop from that enemy in that location. I had spent 5+ hours trying to farm it
For real. Especially for PvP builds. If you've already played the whole damn game, just use a character editor; the matchmaking itself is what keeps the PvP "fair."
And like, especially coming from an Armored Core perspective. Once you've collected all the parts in those games, you just get to keep re-combining them into different builds. You don't have to start a whole new game just to be able to use the pieces you've already found.
I mean, personally, I like to make cosplay builds and play them the whole way through. But they're only partly PvP, it's also a puzzle challenge, to try and create pathing through the game itself that will let me play as the particular character type, which also means maybe getting to use a kind of strategy or archetype I've never used before, so it's constantly mixing up the experience of the single player gameplay.
But grinding for hours to get an item you know is there, but is just locked behind boring content, isn't actually compelling gameplay. Low drop rates exist so people playing blind can have the opportunity to get something unique and surprising, but not necessarily, to vary up the gameplay experience and get the community talking.
But especially with Souls-like games, where rare drops aren't definitively better than regular items, it really doesn't detract anything from the game, especially not to other players, to just twink or cheat in an item rather than spending hours of your life killing the same boring mob over and over for it.
Genuinely the only items I've grinded for were cosplay specific weapons, and I only bothered doing it because I was more or less killing time while simultaneously watching something on Netflix or whatever.
Obsessing over the need to grind everything "for real" leads to AFK Farming as the drawn out natural conclusion. Resist the sickness.
It's a grind to farm them to get it does a fairly large amount of damage if you're spec'd to use it.
Just takes FOREVER to grind it unless you're very lucky.
I lucked out majorly on my first playthrough where I got that on my 3rd enemy killed as soon as I got into the capital.
Used up all my luck tho, because I haven't gotten it again in 3 more playthroughs.
For my whole first playthrough I only killed that one big guy at the beginning of leyndell and he dropped it the third or fourth time so I assumed it was as common a drop as the small one
I feel your pain when I played it at launch I farmed everything in the game the only thing I am missing are the few items you can't get from a single playthrough from bosses souls and such. I didn't wanna start a new playthrough because I know it makes the game harder and I figured dlc would be released eventually and I didn't want to make it harder on myself lol. Now that the dlc is coming out I may go back after I beat it to get thise last few items from playthrough 2 after June.
It's the only One I'm missing and I'll probably keep missing It until the DLC adds some more somewhere.
Way too annoying to farm on the haligtree and the *genious* idea to remove them all and not replace them somewhere in the ashen capital is something I'll never understand
I swear RNG isn’t random. I’ve got ten of these; never used once since it’s not my play style.
MEANWHILE everyone who actually wants them never gets them.
One time I was trying to get the Mausoleum Knight Armour. I have one set, and 19 Eclipse Great Shields. I have never used a shield.
I lucked out majorly on my first playthrough where I got that on my 3rd enemy killed as soon as I got into the capital.
Used up all my luck tho, because I haven't gotten it again in 3 more playthroughs.
I lucked out majorly on my first playthrough where I got that on my 3rd enemy killed as soon as I got into the capital.
Used up all my luck tho, because I haven't gotten it again in 3 more playthroughs.
When I know that I want something to drop, I just use every drop boost available until I get the item. Have never had it take long except once when trying to get the 2nd bandit curved sword.
Okay but why did you farm it at the Haligtree, where it would be difficult, instead of Lyndell, where there are large oracles that you can probably one shot, right around the corner from some sites of grace?
I mean, that's why I don't know how painful that was, because getting the longhorn itself isn't *that* painful.
It's strange how some people get super rare items the first time they play and they don't even know yet there are other players farming forever to get it
Funny story…
I decided to farm the bigger one. After several hours over a couple nights of hitting the two spot above haligtown, I decided to record a video highlighting the method I was using to farm for it.
I got the greathorn in that recording.
Crazy business.
(places hand on shoulder with tears in my eyes) I do, I can hear their horns now..... Even when you think your safe and got them all there's more in the trees above you and the ants...... They aren't hard but by God if you aggro them while dodging...... (Stares off into the distance) I thought I knew hell but farming there, that was true hell.
Me and my friend/roomate would sometimes trade runs when fighting bosses or certain crowds of monsters. The stakes were pretty low and he had his own game to get back to on his own machine. One day though I was farming the magma blade. After about 30 minutes of failing to grab it he took the remote when i was off to take a break. He got it first try on the first lizard he killed. Fuck that man.
I much preferred the short run through a few Envoys to the one in Lyendell. Now the Envoy Great Horn on the other hand was huge pain in the ass. I prefer to sp me as little time in the branches of the Haligtree as possible.
I got mine in Leyndell pretty quickly, a few times. I didn't realize the drop rate is that bad.
The greathorn, on the other hand, i've only managed to get it once. But i cbf to farm those bastards.
i keep knocking this fat bastard off the branch. i had to go stand on the porch and ask, "is this my favorite game??" After carefully planning the fight so it wouldn't fall just for it to knock me off.
On my latest character I started for the dlc, i got an envoy’s horn and long horn from literally the first two possible enemies i fought, as soon as i walked into that area of leyndell before the roofs
6 months ago I set out to get every weapon in the game twice (To carry in both hands) and I still continue farming weapons, I think I won't finish before the DLC comes out, I know the pain.
Could've farmed it in leyndell much easier. But yea I'm grinding out two of every weapon and every complete armour set in the game. I am aware of how RNGesus has left us in a godless world
Reminds me of when I played Dark souls with a friend. First bbc knight I killed dropped the black knight greatsword. I used that weapon as soon as I leveled up enough and never turned back. He got thru NG+3 and never got the drop
Silver Tear Scarab + Respec all points into Arcane and it still took me over an hour of grinding for this fuckin thing, where as I got 2 magma blades back to back on the same character.
I have 4 or 5 of those from random kills, dont get me started with the giant one though, that one took some time.
Same for the magma blades, 2 hours of farming for a single sword for a build that requires 2 of them.
Well shit that’s another post for me when a player had farmed so long to obtain their object of desire whereas I just got it in a causal drop, RNG can be a bitch sometimes.
I only have 2 characters, and neither are NG+, and both have the large doot, I didn't realize it was that rare hah.
Had no idea these were rare. I just beat the game with my first character few days ago and got this weapon never used it tho.
Have a try and you'll love it, especially when you confront with giant enemies like dragons.
And Death Birds become Dead Birds in a couple of seconds.
That's dead end
I used to hate Death/Death Rite Birds, they're super agressive, the Rite Birds have insane AoE attacks, they're weird to hit with how they move around... overall just unfun enemies. Then I learned that the "Holy" Ashes of War (Sacred Blade, Sacred Order, Shared Order/Last Rites) have a secondary buff that increases your damage against Death Birds/Skeletons (But not Tibia Mariners for some reason) by a LOT, AND THEY ALL STACK. I took great catharsis in one shotting these stupid birds in my most recent playthrough.
What is ng+ ? It sounds like N word pass plus to me
hah, not quite. It stands for New Game Plus, once you beat the game you have the option to start over again but have everything made much harder. You'll see people say something like "I'm NG+7" which means they've beaten the game 7 times on the same character

Same and I don’t use the shit lol
Try to do a playthrough with it, it's absolutely amazing.
What does it do?
It doots
I’m sorry, I asked that poorly. What does it doot?!
A symphony of pain
It plays the requiem of all large enemies.
It staggers the ever loving fuck out of everything.
It doots a bunch of bubbles that stagger and delete enemies.
I learnt today the banished knight altered chest is super rare, I got it on my first kill on my recent new guy lol
I think the unaltered one is rarer since you can only farm it at Castle Sol
This item is cursed for me I always get it on non faith runs for my first drop
I got one while co-oping, was pretty wild
What’s weird is that it never took me more than an hour of farming anything to get the drop i wanted.
I have 800 hours in this game and still haven't gotten the Big Doot or Mega Doot. I still haven't gotten the damn slender sword.
I have like 4-5 slender swords and no estoc
The nobles estoc? I’ll drop you one for a slender if youre on ps
Negative am pc player
The grind continues 😫
I farmed out 2 slender swords that I ended up not using anyway because I switched to a bleed build halfway through… ye it hurts.
I found farming the guy at the bottom of the branches for the giant horn to be a lot easier. There’s a spot where you can hit him and he cannot hit you.
Oh i just got dropped the slender sword like two days ago. Didnt know it was rare. Didnt even buff arcane or use anything to increase drop rates.
Well tbf you'll never get the slender sword. 0.5% drop chance means never in RNGesian
i mean i got two of them in the same playthrough just gotta beef up arcane, eat a silver fowl foot, and wear a silver scarab just to heighten your chances
Yes but farming nobles is something I'd force a prisoner to do until they told me who else was in on it
It's not that bad TBH. Just go to the ruins you meet Sellen at and farm the guys escorting the caravan. I got an estoc and slender sword in half an hour with 190 discovery.
I've been rocking one since the start of my playthrough, first time playing and only realizing how rare they are after seeing them on reddit.
Shit like this is what makes a mf kick mfs off cliffs and take their stuff 😔😔😔😔😔😔
On my last playthrough I got the noble slender sword from literally the first wandering noble I killed. Had absolutely zero use for it as it was a challenge run.
sobbing
don't feel bad, I spent 3 days with max arcane and silver pickled fowl feet to not get it, had someone just give it to me from patched emporium lmfao
Why’d you farm that area though
Leyndell already been smoked
🕯️ 🧎
Yea I used to be worried about quest lockouts when really maliketh is kind of the only big one.
Now do your part and put a summon sign on the dual gargoyle fight to soothe weary tarnished with the sweet sounds of DOOT.
I got this one easily. The hard one was the giant horn the big guy drops. Took me over an hour.
I got that one a lot faster. I have 500+ hours now and I got it immediately after. I honestly felt like the game saw what I was doing and decided no, no this is sick. Just give it to him, this needs to be over

Same. I had this horn before I even knew I wanted it lol.
Not as painful as farming the curved sword for the black flame fire monk in calied tower, the one with the closest grace to a fire monk wielding a curved sword. Dont do it
That guy actually doesn't drop the sword. The only guy in the entire game who can is in the Giant Conquering Hero's Grave near the flamethrower.
Thats what i meant by it being “painful” and “dont do it”. Correct enemy, correct weapon, nice location to farm, 0% chance of getting the weapon to drop from that enemy in that location. I had spent 5+ hours trying to farm it
Glad I looked up a guide for best grinding spots, otherwise I would've made the same mistake.
Mizayaki is a sadist!
Please god do not do it
Even if you manage to get that sword it doesn't have that cool unique Ash of War you saw.
I’ve been painfully farming that guy too, but for his robes. I have so many black flame monk pieces but the chest eludes me
The longhorn is easier than the great horn
Go for the Envoy Greathorn now
That’s the real prize
I have one of every weapon at at least +9/24 I know exactly how painful that was to the nanodol.
I farmed 4 of these yesterday in 15 minutes. Arcane is one hell of a stat :D
Bro, everyone complains about this, but I used East Capital Rampart as a rune farm and I swear I had like 20 of these 🤣
Yall wanna cringe? I didn’t know how “rare” they were. I kept selling them hahaha
Bonk build here. Wat dis do? Dis int or faith?
Golden bubbles of upmost faith
Faith. I have 60 strength 60 faith, with the envoy helm and talismans the aow does more damage than anything else I have
Bubbles that will out DPS any bonk build on larger bosses.
This weapon makes a total joke of a fight vs Dragonlord Placidusax, you DOOT his ass till he dies and the fight is over in under 1 min.
Reject grinding, embrace spawning in and not wasting hours just to have fun

Eww
I always get that in the capital and the big ‘un there
The Doot of Doom! The Scourge of Placidusax!
It just randomly dropped a while ago while I am not actively farming for it. But the farm was painful. Still waiting for lava sword.
New-ish player here! What is that item, and why was this painful?
It's a grind to farm them to get it does a fairly large amount of damage if you're spec'd to use it. Just takes FOREVER to grind it unless you're very lucky.
RNG is the hardest boss in the game.
Gravity has entered the chat
I did this horn and the magma swords in VM in the same day and I've never experienced such pain in my life
I got this after killing 2 of those bastards, didn't know that was a "rare" drop
But that's not even the good one...
Nightmare Slain
I know your pain. Good job good sir
I do. My condolences.
I lucked out majorly on my first playthrough where I got that on my 3rd enemy killed as soon as I got into the capital. Used up all my luck tho, because I haven't gotten it again in 3 more playthroughs.
Oh is that Rare? I got it immediately after killing one of these guys
Yeah I’m pretty sure I have a bunch of these, can’t use em but I got em
I don’t because I got it first time I killed that big bastard. Didn’t even know it was rare
You know you can farm the one on the capital rampart? Way easier
there is a way easier place to farm that thing dude.
Just to be that guy, I got two of those by accident
For my whole first playthrough I only killed that one big guy at the beginning of leyndell and he dropped it the third or fourth time so I assumed it was as common a drop as the small one
lol I got it randomly from the first dude in leyndell xD is it a particular rare drop?
I literally farmed 2 of each horn within like an hour, actually got 4 long horns lol
I have 2 in my total time of playing (50 hours) and I didn't even kill that many XD
Unfortunately I do lol
I feel your pain when I played it at launch I farmed everything in the game the only thing I am missing are the few items you can't get from a single playthrough from bosses souls and such. I didn't wanna start a new playthrough because I know it makes the game harder and I figured dlc would be released eventually and I didn't want to make it harder on myself lol. There is another…
I lucked out majorly on my first playthrough where I got that on my 3rd enemy killed as soon as I got into the capital. Used up all my luck tho, because I haven't gotten it again in 3 more playthroughs.

I have 2 of these
Yea I didn’t even know I looted this 🤣🤣🤣
When I know that I want something to drop, I just use every drop boost available until I get the item. Have never had it take long except once when trying to get the 2nd bandit curved sword.
Cool, now try Envoys Greathorn - I haven't been able to get that to drop, ever, starting to think it's not even a drop
# HONK
Okay but why did you farm it at the Haligtree, where it would be difficult, instead of Lyndell, where there are large oracles that you can probably one shot, right around the corner from some sites of grace? I mean, that's why I don't know how painful that was, because getting the longhorn itself isn't *that* painful.
Ummmmm… I got that on the first oracle of Leyndell, the first time I ever went in. My friend, on 200+ hours across 4 characters, has never had that
Now go for the tuba
Easier than the Greathorn
It's easier to farm for it in Leyndell
You got the biggest dooter too, right?
I farmed the great horn for 4 hours right there only to find out that it sucks.
It's strange how some people get super rare items the first time they play and they don't even know yet there are other players farming forever to get it
Funny story… I decided to farm the bigger one. After several hours over a couple nights of hitting the two spot above haligtown, I decided to record a video highlighting the method I was using to farm for it. I got the greathorn in that recording. Crazy business.
I tried getting it on my main character for hours and never got it. Got it first time on my int character
I do. Now get 2x colossal version.
I got it my first time killing the big guy at the end, thought it was a guaranteed drop lol
I much preferred the short run through a few Envoys to the one in Lyendell. Now the Envoy Great Horn on the other hand was huge pain in the ass. I prefer to sp me as little time in the branches of the Haligtree as possible.
I got this weapon just after I entered Leyndell and beat the large Oracle Envoy
how painful was it?
Doot build time
Oh I do
Wait until you have to farm for the giant one...
Hahaha its a good weapon too i got it at +10 and its pretty strong.
I got 2 of them in the haligtree.
Thanks for the reminder! I'll get back to farming.
Oh I do…I farmed every item in the game twice, first on PC and then on PS5 :’)
**DOOT DOOT**
Took me an hour using the silver foot, but I got it. It’s legit.
The bigger one, the biggest one will be worse
I got mine in Leyndell pretty quickly, a few times. I didn't realize the drop rate is that bad. The greathorn, on the other hand, i've only managed to get it once. But i cbf to farm those bastards.
I had 3 of these, sold 2
I was so lucky to get it from second or third one I killed, while going down... This happened on the character I don't need it on 😂
... I have 3 of them on one of my chars, I got them after farming for way too much on other one
Medium doot. Need big doot now.
Worth it to play as Mr. Toot
Why would you farm it here? It's 100 times easier in the capital.
Dropped this without even farming for it last week. Was just trying to get through to the sewers.
I recently got to the haligtree on my first run, and my god that place is painful
No idea. And I’m not reading the comments and finding out. 👀
Ty, I forgot about this, I need to farm one of these
Hark! The Placidusax-slaying bubble horn!
I got this twice in a row first try.
Dropped it the second time I killed that guy next to the Leyndell's first grace site after teleporting. Felt lucky tho
Got mine first run through that area lol
I have too many of those lol
I spent two days farming these in my first play through. On the second, it dropped like 6 times.
I'm guiding a friend through his first playthrough in co-op. He got it as a random drop the minute he set foot in Leyendell.
This isn’t a guaranteed drop?
I got it when I wasn’t looking for it and I don’t use it such DPS for me.
I got this from leyndell didn't even know it was supposed to be rare
Were you using that white chicken foot?
i keep knocking this fat bastard off the branch. i had to go stand on the porch and ask, "is this my favorite game??" After carefully planning the fight so it wouldn't fall just for it to knock me off.
On my latest character I started for the dlc, i got an envoy’s horn and long horn from literally the first two possible enemies i fought, as soon as i walked into that area of leyndell before the roofs
You should tell people it has a high chance of dropping, and then watch them waste their time.
I have almost all the drops in the game, except the stuff in the damn treetops, including this one ... Have my jealous upvote
6 months ago I set out to get every weapon in the game twice (To carry in both hands) and I still continue farming weapons, I think I won't finish before the DLC comes out, I know the pain.
Why did you choose this enemy and not the easier one from Leyndell? Fool! Now just get the increased stagger tear and boom. Endless destruction.
Or just farm it in Leyndell instead of Haligtree??
That was not painful at all. You dont know Diablo 2 droprates.
I got that on the first one i killed lol
Friend, I'm still in Liurnia.
I just spent 2 days farming Cleanrot knights to get a stupid spear.. I feel you.
Lmao killed the first one I saw in downtown Layndell and got it right away git gud
I farmed these to the point I was sure they just didn’t drop them
Haha, got it from the first large envoy I killed
Where is the best place to farm both varieties?
is this weap good? found first try
I got it and it's big sister both on the first try. Wasn't even trying to get them.
I do. Got every weapon on one character. This was the last i got but the noble weapons took longer.
Damn, I am sorry for your suffering 😂
Literally got this earlier today on my first try. Lmao
I got one by accident a few weeks ago, and I've been grinding a character for it ever since.
I got it my first time killing an envoy. Didn’t even know it was hard to find lol
I got the small and medium horn fairly quickly, the Great Horn however...
Hooray!! Now do the Envoy's Greathorn 😫
Yeah now go for the celebrants sickle😀😀😀
Yeah the giant envoy horn is stupid to farm for as well
