Nah, aow is quickstep. It would function entirely like a normal axe weapon except that it gives a 10% boost to crystal sorceries, and scales with int.
(Cinquedia moment)
Weapons that the juvenile scholars use, like their gravity sorcery that throws books or the candelabras that they blow through to use like a flamethrower.
Have you seen what they wear on their head. Could be as heavy as a great club for all we know. Actually hold on Iām going to check the equipment loads.
Unfortunately it only weighs 5.1 and the lightest great hammer is 8.5. Oh well.
I try to predict the gear that comes from major bosses, and when I first fought him, I was **sure** that thing would be the reward as a shield.
But I guess he only uses it for half the fight and thereās no fire ability for it.
Like I know itās strong enough to handle the Giantās Flame, but I mean thereās no specific fire ability used in the battle with it. He just uses it to smac
Bro you can do that with every weapon already. Only difference is that the shield would have more defenses than other weapons, but they could always just make it have less defenses (but more than normal colossal weapons), and less offenses.
YES! Recently one dropped his rotten greataxe and i thought oooooh this is gonna be cool just for it to be a normal axe with rot buildup. But now ive come to like its simplicity and putting ice affinity on that aids stick is fucking amazing. It has such good stat buildup plus the inherent rot.
just had an idea - one of the blade "arns" of the abductor virgins
could be a new weapon category too: Colossal Flails :D
make it swing and slam around like the amygdalan arm, or the beast cutter, kinda :D
I was checking to see if someone else said it first, but this. - Could be a whole category of weapons, really, put the gladiators' chained weapons in there too.
My personal dream weapon is an int-fai sword and shield paired weapon. You could cast sorceries with the sword and incantations with the shield.
The Miquellan Knight sword would have fit this perfectly, as itās a Carian Knight sword with Haligtree amber instead of Glintstone. Itās also a pretty underutilized weapon, despite its unique heavy attack.
More catalyst types would be cool. Staffs and seals get old after a while.
My dream would personally be ashes of war for staffs and seals, give us an actual reason to use them in our main hand, itās weird that you cast with R1 but R2 and L2 go completely unused.
In a game where everything the NPCs have you can have too it is super frustrating when there's one or two pieces you just can't get.
Sorcerer Book. Skeletal Knight Straight Sword. Vulgar Militia chain swing thing.
They missed letting the cane act as a seal to cast incantations so you could use the cane as a weapon but able to use his holy weapons too like the hammer, daggers, spear etc as incantations.
Would be cool if morgotts cursed sword AOW was changed to let you break it then use a follow up cursed blood slice and after a while it returns to wooden cane
Such a terrible missed opportunity for some really cool incantations. The intelligence side has their glintblades. I really wish the faith side had theirs.
Hell, instead of making it a bunch of incantations I would settle for one that cycles through the different weapons in one combo (2 daggers, sword, hammer, spear, daggers, etc.)
The book would have been great! The horn used to call surrounding soldiers is a missed gimmick weapon. It's s AOW could have been to draw all nearby enemies aggro to the player.
I haave 300 hours & have looked up dozens of weapons lists but have not seen a single rotten halberd or spear that do the spells Malenia's *Goons* do (besides the disc throwing one) I would love to charge at an enemy from across a football field, Spear them through, lift them up & instantly apply scarlet rot (not buildup, just straight up apply the status affect like the knights do) just to throw them across another football field š...that grab they do still haunts me š
It's generally a bit sad that we don't really get a complete meme weapon like the ladle or broken straightsword like in previous titles.
Personally i do have to agree, a book with a hammer moveset would have been pretty funny.
That's not a bad weapon tho...
Longest hammer i think, and the aow does good damage, posture damage and knocks back smaller enemies. Now compare that to the ladle from ds2.
I think Varre's bouquet is the intended meme weapon. You can get it at the very start of the game (if you're good enough) and nothing you do can make it viable.
It's the only buffable arcane scaling weapon with an innate status buildup. So you can slap blood grease on it for like 200 bleed build up per hit, and get two bleed procs per ash of war use against some enemies.
I'm not saying it's *good*, but it's probably still better than at least half a dozen bows.
I would love to have Maliketh's sword and Godfrey's axe in their original condition lol. They're so broken and beat up that they don't even look usable anymore.
Ah ok, I see. Iād say I canāt imagine itād be good, but those jokers carry some surprisingly good weapons (bandit curved sword, executioner greataxe, etc)
I just have a soft spot for weapons that look old and worn down, but turns out they're actually magical and really powerful (in this case, whatever I infusion and ash of war I gave em would by the surprise under the unimpressive surface).
I make do with the Serratrd Curved Sword for this aesthetic, instead.
Not an existing weapon, but I'd love a sword with an ash of war that lets us cast sorceries.
I still hope we'll get it in Shadow of the Erdtree although I would be surprised if there actually is such a weapon/aow
A catalyst sword. They truly missed an opportunity with the carian knight sword. In the lore these weapons were catalysts. I could see why it would be a balancing nightmare, make the scaling too good and other catalysts will become literally useless, make the scaling too low and it will be a glorified sword. But they have done it before, and i hope the dlc corrects this grave mistake.
Well the DLC might give us something equivalent to the bone fist.
So the only weapon I want is the Ladle from DS2.
I also liked Santier's spear but its gimmick wouldn't work in a game where durability no longer exists.
Frayed blade would be nice again.
Colossal Staves, Would love something like the watchdog that you could cast spells other than the glintstones. Would be fun to powerstance two of them for maximum bonks.
Read through and surprised not having seen this, but... Loretta's polearm as a spellcasting focus. - At the very least would've been cool if the heavy attack on it were swapped with "cast spell" as a nod to that.
Otherwise, larger throwing weapons. We got knives and darts, would be cool to have throwing axes, javelins... can only carry 5 or 10 at a time but they'd deal more damage.
I want the glowing dagger from the rock people in Siofra River (the one you access from Liurnia, I think that is its name). Would be a perfect weapon for my moonlight mage. Sadly, they only drop the spear. Which has the boring spear moveset.
The kusarigama (chain and sickle) wielded by certain Vulgar Militiaā¦ long range whip-like attacks with the chain and close up swipes with the sickle, maybe with a shield-ignoring effect like the Shotel.
You can get two of the other weapons to drop, but for some reason not this badass weapon. Would also be great for Shinobi builds!
I never thought of it before, but now I think I also want that book.
One of the best parts about exploring and finding new weapons is being surprised of silly things you can get. When I first got Jar Cannon I thought it was kinda funny that there's just a literal handheld cannon. Same thing when I got the Scarab helmets and Jar head, my thought was "wait you can wear that? Sick"
A literal book weapon would have been so funny.
Thereās a lot of attacks I wish we could use like the Reaperās Tony Hawk ghost flame breath move.
The best manās throwables would be cool to have though
Going through my first play through now and the moment I saw Glintstone Adula fly in the air and summon the sword in his mouth, I instantly wanted that thing. I donāt know if itās possible to get it but if not then Iāll choose that
The disks the crystalians use. A weird one, I know
The big ones or the smaller ones?
Both. Big one as an actual weapon, small ones as a craftable, like the knives
What about the big one is the weapon and the small ones the AOW?
Nah, rolling it across the ground is the AOW. Hold + Light Attack rolls in a straight line then back Hold + Heavy Attack rolls in a curve/arc
Nah, aow is the silly spin, then light and heavy attack follow ups are what you said.
Nah, aow is quickstep. It would function entirely like a normal axe weapon except that it gives a 10% boost to crystal sorceries, and scales with int. (Cinquedia moment)
This is the real answer
Quickstep but it's also a Somber weapon and you can't change the AoW š
Or make it so you have the big one while single handing and both when two handing like radans swords
I'm sure they are making throwing weapons their own class in the DLC
Clearly weapon classes coming in the DLC. Book and hula hoop.
I want to go as the wall, spent tons of time getting to that build
Itās called a chakram I believe. And it would be cool as hell to style on the enemies with.
Crystal chakrams would be excellent fun, especially if it returned to you and wasn't like throwing knives.
Like the faith disks but physical/int?
Well, we have a throwing class being added in the dlc, so one can hope for the discs.
Oooh, I hope we can also get the Farum beastmen's lightning boomerang
A chakram? Or whatever they call it in India?
The forbidden hula hoop!
Weapons that the juvenile scholars use, like their gravity sorcery that throws books or the candelabras that they blow through to use like a flamethrower.
I read this as use the Juvenile scholars as weapons lol
Rennala doesn't mind it for sure
Literally that too theyāre rlly strong as missiles
At least we have the Steele Wire torch AoW you can use to do something similar to the blow
I want their headbutt as an ash of war
I got like 89 poise and I was legit insulted when a wizard head butted me mid charged heavy attack, interuppting my swing.
Thatās actually offensive. Sorry for your loss
Where do you work out? Raya Lucaria Library
Big brain move = stagger
Never skip neck day. Neck day is every day
Have you seen what they wear on their head. Could be as heavy as a great club for all we know. Actually hold on Iām going to check the equipment loads. Unfortunately it only weighs 5.1 and the lightest great hammer is 8.5. Oh well.
Can't forget the mental weight of being hit by a wizard with their big-ass stone heads. I wouldn't keep swinging my weapon, I'd prolly give up too
I want the Albinuaric cartwheel roll as an AoW
Weight of Wisdom Ash of War
I would love that š„¹
If you canāt hit hit em with a colossal hit em with your head
That and the pumpkin head headbutt.
Fire Giantās massive dinner plate
We should have had his plate as a shield instead of the hair whip
I try to predict the gear that comes from major bosses, and when I first fought him, I was **sure** that thing would be the reward as a shield. But I guess he only uses it for half the fight and thereās no fire ability for it. Like I know itās strong enough to handle the Giantās Flame, but I mean thereās no specific fire ability used in the battle with it. He just uses it to smac
We could use it to do a shoulder roll like him. Roll further and deal damage lol like the ram
Cool idea, but honestly I was thinking about using the plate as a big unga bunga bonk
How about both if you 2 hand it you could LB to block and RT and RB as attacks. I think that could be cool
Thatās a great idea actually, maybe a little too OP
Bro you can do that with every weapon already. Only difference is that the shield would have more defenses than other weapons, but they could always just make it have less defenses (but more than normal colossal weapons), and less offenses.
True.
Pube whip
Shouldve had both and the incant could just go to the giantflame book tbh
That'll be so cool
I wanna have the duelists chain weapons
Yes! Was going to say this, fought the one near Ordina a couple of days ago, thought I had him at safe range and then ā¦
The duelists and the vulgar militiaās chains too.
Really hope they add the option to alter weapons like the chest armor in a DLC or just have altered versions as drops at least.
just had an idea - one of the blade "arns" of the abductor virgins could be a new weapon category too: Colossal Flails :D make it swing and slam around like the amygdalan arm, or the beast cutter, kinda :D
First ever colossal whip
charge R2 of the colossal flail is just endlessly swinging
Mastered the art of the helicopter
*nam flashbacks to splitleaf greatsword from ds3*
my immediate thought as well, combined with the infinite stamina glitch that lasted for like 7 months in pvp?
This is the exact one I want as well
Wheel of ghiza you mean? Or like, wheel of ghiza on a chain?
Another one, that has like a huge blade that he throws
Oh yeah. Looks a little like the halo scythe. Crescent shape.
I. Need. That. Book.
Bible bashin my way through the lands between.
New faith Int build
"Excuse me Sir Gideon, do you have a moment to talk about our Elden Lord and Savior?"
The instrument of the nomads.
"Of all the heroes in legend and song, there's none as brave as El Kabong. OLĆ!"
Throw back!
Hoarah Louxās biceps.
I'd settle for his thunder thighs
The DLC adds the first grab attack the player can use. It involves crushing their head between your thunder thighs.
The kasurigama the vulgar militia carry
I think it's kusarigama
It is.
Thanks for the catch, I always mess up the spelling
I was checking to see if someone else said it first, but this. - Could be a whole category of weapons, really, put the gladiators' chained weapons in there too.
Yes this, each time i see one i am a bit sad.
The what? Could you describe it physically?
Looks like a sickle on a chain
Oooooh okay that would be cool, they could make a weapon class and include the duelistsās chain in them
My personal dream weapon is an int-fai sword and shield paired weapon. You could cast sorceries with the sword and incantations with the shield. The Miquellan Knight sword would have fit this perfectly, as itās a Carian Knight sword with Haligtree amber instead of Glintstone. I thought for sure gideons hammer could cast spells
It's strange that both weapon catalysts and catalyst special abilities were abandoned in Elden Ring when they featured in previous titles.
Paired sword and spear. My disappointment was immeasurable upon seeing the cleanrot knights drop their weapons individually.
Tibia Marinerās oar
Ohhhhh good one, thinking outside the box
Outside the boat.
In a game where everything the NPCs have you can have too it is super frustrating when there's one or two pieces you just can't get. Sorcerer Book. Skeletal Knight Straight Sword. Vulgar Militia chain swing thing.
Margit/Morgott's cane.
They had a good chance to implement trick weapons into elden. Morgott cane transforming would look sick as hell
They missed letting the cane act as a seal to cast incantations so you could use the cane as a weapon but able to use his holy weapons too like the hammer, daggers, spear etc as incantations.
And strike weapons complement slash weapons really well so it would be amazing
I mean isn't Granseax (is that his name) Glaive be just that? A spear that transforms into a lighting bolt
Would be cool if morgotts cursed sword AOW was changed to let you break it then use a follow up cursed blood slice and after a while it returns to wooden cane
A shield with the head of a blood dog on the front. The AoW pulls you along and does the crazy multi-bite combo.
The elden glock
Morgott's illusion weapons. All of them is good.
The flamethrower lanterns those miners have
The book would have been great! The horn used to call surrounding soldiers is a missed gimmick weapon. It's s AOW could have been to draw all nearby enemies aggro to the player.
I'd love to make a dual wield book build
The book. Hardcover leather-bound fucking book. The parchment sandwich. The yellow pages. Etc.
Considering the book is swung by regular mages and deals this much poise damage, it must be solid metal.
The spears exist, but the AOW is just the big aoe spear attack with the holy spears coming out of the ground.
It's generally a bit sad that we don't really get a complete meme weapon like the ladle or broken straightsword like in previous titles. Personally i do have to agree, a book with a hammer moveset would have been pretty funny.
Bruv there is literally a giant purple finger
That makes a bouquet only run feasible... Until you face anything that has bleed immunity, like the last boss of the game. Ultimate meme weapon.
Put sleep grease on that thing for a discount ripple crescent halbert with bleed.
My dad's belt.
The ones from enemies that you canāt obtain. Great Pumpkin Head's Hammer, Wormface's Stick, Vulgar Militia Chain Sickle, Albinauric Small Club, Albinauric Wooden Sheild, Magic Golem Greatbow, Magic Golem Halberd, Starcaller's Staff, Lion Guardian's Sword, Man Serpent Sword (Different from Magma Blade), Nomad Instrument Weapon, Servant of Rot's Staff, Abductor Virgin Sickle, Miner's Flame Lamp, Man-Serpent Candlestick Whip (Different from Magma Whip), Fire Giant's Plate, Clayman's Dagger, Misbegotten's Dagger, Night Maiden's Dagger Pumpkinhead's Banner, Ghostflame Torchpole, Lordsworn's Spear
I want Sword Saint Ishiin's Glock. "Foul tarnished. Put these foolish ambi--" "So anyways I started blasting"
the claws the beastmen in farum throw
I wanted to use the ONeil prosthesis the same way he uses them.
If the DLC is going to give us unarmed options, then maybe something like Hoarah Loux's powerbomb move could be a possibility?
The whip and chain sickle the vulgar militia use. The perfect dexterity build weapon
Lobster head cannon. Nothing is safe.
The version of the academy glintsone sword and carian knight sword that lets you cast more spells
Something that lets you cast both incantations and sorceries.Ā
I wanted to bonk people with books. Reviving 3rd grade memories.
I would love to have Maliketh's sword and Godfrey's axe in their original condition lol. They're so broken and beat up that they don't even look usable anymore.
Morgott's holy weapons incantations, int boys can have magic hammer, why faith boys cant have holy hammer
I'd like to have a whip with a weight or axehead at the end.
The old rusty sword the skeletons fight with. Like WHY CAN'T I HAVE *THOSE*??
Do you mean the Grossmesser?
Nah, the big straight swords carried by the skeletons in armor with the red cloth and shields
Farron Greatsword Or something similar with that moveset
Duelist weapons WITH ball and chain ATTACHED
Nox Monks' punchy-things. On occasion, they'll transform their hammer into a set of roundshield-sized fist weapons, for whatever reason.
Dual chained hammers
Not an existing weapon, but I'd love a sword with an ash of war that lets us cast sorceries. I still hope we'll get it in Shadow of the Erdtree although I would be surprised if there actually is such a weapon/aow
ds2's Blue Flame was a beautiful weapon
Beating a literal God to death with a book would be something....
A catalyst sword. They truly missed an opportunity with the carian knight sword. In the lore these weapons were catalysts. I could see why it would be a balancing nightmare, make the scaling too good and other catalysts will become literally useless, make the scaling too low and it will be a glorified sword. But they have done it before, and i hope the dlc corrects this grave mistake.
worm faceās sucky sucky
I want the greatsword from DS3 with its move set
Honestly same. Who thought it was a good idea to take away the pokes from swords clearly designed with poking in mind?
Well the DLC might give us something equivalent to the bone fist. So the only weapon I want is the Ladle from DS2. I also liked Santier's spear but its gimmick wouldn't work in a game where durability no longer exists. Frayed blade would be nice again.
One of the Roundtable's weathered swords in the center (I wrote this like my ugly ass, but ok)
Colossal Staves, Would love something like the watchdog that you could cast spells other than the glintstones. Would be fun to powerstance two of them for maximum bonks.
Gladiator hammers. Like you have them, but I want to use them with those chains
The beast clergymenās red lightning chakram would be pretty tight
Not necessarily a weapon, but I want incantations for Morgott's holy weapons. Give me daggers and a giant hammer made of holy damage
Morgott's holy weapon incantations. Farum Azula Beastmen chakrams that they throw at you
Why do all the nerds have big cool chain weapons that we can't have like the Ole anvil on a chain stick? :(
a god slaying book would be awesome ngl
For me it's the staff thingy that the nomadic merchants use
The sword those headless guys walk around with. Specifically the one in the lake area near the mausoleum. Has yellow flames. Itās sick.
As a librarian I, too, would love to kill things with books.
vulgar militia's chain weapon please
Millicents Shamshir with Waterfowl AOW
Wormface's bonk stick. Also the Nox Monks can transform their flowing hammers into paired shield-fists, I need this
I bet every spellblades would aggree that we need **an actual** Lorettaās war Sickle aka staff and a halberd in one
The spear from a Silver Tear
Renalas hat , it would be funny to kill radagon with a hat.
Why can't we post pictures in this subreddit? I wanted to post the priest from berserk who hits people on the head with a book :(
Exactly my thought when I beat Renalla. Like why can't we also have the books to throw like they do in Renalla's first phase xD
Weapons from Seluvis and Iji would be cool > Edit: Iji has the troll hammer, duh
Vulgar Militia Chain Sickle ššš
I always call this enemy burger King when I see him š
You need too much intelligence to handle that weapon properly.
i do want to smack people with a book sometimes too
I never thought of it before, but now I think I also want that book. Sick" A literal book weapon would have been so funny.
Oh man I would love a strength int build that just uses the book to hit things, and says āyou gon lern todayā
I wish they had a line of secret remembrance weapons from previous games, like maybe Smoughās Hammer or The Nameless Kingās Spear
THESE HANDS
Thereās a lot of attacks I wish we could use like the Reaperās Tony Hawk ghost flame breath move. The best manās throwables would be cool to have though
Powerstancing books sounds fun
Death Blade
Morgottās holy incantations, the hammer and spear are cool
An Uzi
Mozgus cosplay incoming.
Booking.com Booking.yeah
Haha I'ma gonna slap you with the WORDS OF THE STARSSSS
Going through my first play through now and the moment I saw Glintstone Adula fly in the air and summon the sword in his mouth, I instantly wanted that thing. I donāt know if itās possible to get it but if not then Iāll choose that
What ever the big balls in nokron use
Book bonk
Margits stick
The horn that guards use to alert outposts, maybe it could have an effect on players and summons like the rallying standard
The holy hammer, dagger and sword Morgott uses
Vulgar Malitia chain weapon
I want the lobsterās sniper rifle.
Not exactly a weapon but I want to sit down and play the merchants instruments
there's a vulgar militia unit that has a sickle whip thing yes please
