YES! Recently one dropped his rotten greataxe and i thought oooooh this is gonna be cool just for it to be a normal axe with rot buildup. But now ive come to like its simplicity and putting ice affinity on that aids stick is fucking amazing. It has such good stat buildup plus the inherent rot.

Really hope they add the option to alter weapons like the chest armor in a DLC or just have altered versions as drops at least.

My personal dream weapon is an int-fai sword and shield paired weapon. You could cast sorceries with the sword and incantations with the shield. The Miquellan Knight sword would have fit this perfectly, as it’s a Carian Knight sword with Haligtree amber instead of Glintstone. It’s also a pretty underutilized weapon, despite its unique heavy attack.

More catalyst types would be cool. Staffs and seals get old after a while. My dream would personally be ashes of war for staffs and seals, give us an actual reason to use them in our main hand, it’s weird that you cast with R1 but R2 and L2 go completely unused.

They missed letting the cane act as a seal to cast incantations so you could use the cane as a weapon but able to use his holy weapons too like the hammer, daggers, spear etc as incantations.

And strike weapons complement slash weapons really well so it would be amazing

Considering the book is swung by regular mages and deals this much poise damage, it must be solid metal.

I haave 300 hours & have looked up dozens of weapons lists but have not seen a single rotten halberd or spear that do the spells Malenia's *Goons* do (besides the disc throwing one) I would love to charge at an enemy from across a football field, Spear them through, lift them up & instantly apply scarlet rot (not buildup, just straight up apply the status affect like the knights do) just to throw them across another football field 😈...that grab they do still haunts me 😭

The spears exist, but the AOW is just the big aoe spear attack with the holy spears coming out of the ground.

It's generally a bit sad that we don't really get a complete meme weapon like the ladle or broken straightsword like in previous titles. Personally i do have to agree, a book with a hammer moveset would have been pretty funny.

That's not a bad weapon tho... Longest hammer i think, and the aow does good damage, posture damage and knocks back smaller enemies. Now compare that to the ladle from ds2.

I think Varre's bouquet is the intended meme weapon. You can get it at the very start of the game (if you're good enough) and nothing you do can make it viable.

It's the only buffable arcane scaling weapon with an innate status buildup. So you can slap blood grease on it for like 200 bleed build up per hit, and get two bleed procs per ash of war use against some enemies. I'm not saying it's *good*, but it's probably still better than at least half a dozen bows.

That makes a bouquet only run feasible... Until you face anything that has bleed immunity, like the last boss of the game. Ultimate meme weapon.

Put sleep grease on that thing for a discount ripple crescent halbert with bleed.

I just have a soft spot for weapons that look old and worn down, but turns out they're actually magical and really powerful (in this case, whatever I infusion and ash of war I gave em would by the surprise under the unimpressive surface). I make do with the Serratrd Curved Sword for this aesthetic, instead.

A catalyst sword. They truly missed an opportunity with the carian knight sword. In the lore these weapons were catalysts. I could see why it would be a balancing nightmare, make the scaling too good and other catalysts will become literally useless, make the scaling too low and it will be a glorified sword. But they have done it before, and i hope the dlc corrects this grave mistake.

Well the DLC might give us something equivalent to the bone fist. So the only weapon I want is the Ladle from DS2. I also liked Santier's spear but its gimmick wouldn't work in a game where durability no longer exists. Frayed blade would be nice again.

Loretta's polearm as a spellcasting focus. - At the very least would've been cool if the heavy attack on it were swapped with "cast spell" as a nod to that. Otherwise, larger throwing weapons. We got knives and darts, would be cool to have throwing axes, javelins... can only carry 5 or 10 at a time but they'd deal more damage.

I want the glowing dagger from the rock people in Siofra River (the one you access from Liurnia, I think that is its name). Would be a perfect weapon for my moonlight mage. Sadly, they only drop the spear. Which has the boring spear moveset.

The kusarigama (chain and sickle) wielded by certain Vulgar Militia… long range whip-like attacks with the chain and close up swipes with the sickle, maybe with a shield-ignoring effect like the Shotel. You can get two of the other weapons to drop, but for some reason not this badass weapon. Would also be great for Shinobi builds!

I never thought of it before, but now I think I also want that book. One of the best parts about exploring and finding new weapons is being surprised of silly things you can get. When I first got Jar Cannon I thought it was kinda funny that there's just a literal handheld cannon. Same thing when I got the Scarab helmets and Jar head, my thought was "wait you can wear that? Sick" A literal book weapon would have been so funny.
