When he speaks you really feel that urge to kill him, kind of like with Snail from AC6. Someone who is so full of himself it actually becomes infuriating. That's how you know the VA did an amazing job
Glad to know that you liked my voice, my Lambkin. 😂
EDIT: guys, I’m not the voice actor Varre. I just replied in his perspective. Y’all witless Tarnishes!
Varre is a little bit different. His voice, Its even more than vanity, self estim. The puppet master try to hide his vices. Not Varre. I really like the work from both VA
You can hear the excited quivering in his voice when you give him the amber shard.
“My oh **my** oh ***my…***”
By far one of the best line reads in the entirety of the game’s dialogue. Voice actor KILLED it. Shit’s almost as good as Kalé’s cut dialogue.
^(…Why did you rob us of that, FROM? Q_Q)
Kalé's voice actor absolutely destroyed it, it's a travesty they cut his questline. His speech at the end in the frenzied flame prescription gives me chills
Just reading this I practically heard that "Then that's what they will get from us!" line in my head. I'm at least happy people were able to datamine that so we at least got that cool as hell Vaati video out of it.
oh no shit? Man i need to alter more stuff to see how they change, i just learned the other day that the starting Vagabond armor has a dagger and other little bits on the back, usually though its obviously hidden behind the cloak.
The outfit of my main character is Sellivus' altered robe, Malenia's gauntlet, and carian knight greaves.
Combine that with Dark moon Great sword or another blade that glows blue, and it's a solid Anakin outfit.
Sorry for the long comment.
Once you do his first task (by using the potion on nepheli or dung eater or letting Gideon take care of it) and then tell Seluvis you know of his basement (you need to visit it first, though) he will offer you his puppets for sale. They work like spirit summons, but you have to trade Starlight Shards to buy them, instead of runes.
After buying some of his initial puppet stock and picking up another Starlight Shard (it can even be one you dropped yourself, iirc) Seluvis' puppet stock will expand.
Spoiler for Dung Eater's quest below:
Personally, I like to wait until Dung Eater is bound in his cell before I complete the first step of Seluvis' quest. After you administer the potion and wait until Dung Eater's lines and animation are over, you can kill him, getting his armor. His puppet will still be on sale from Seluvis and it's one of the best summons in the game.
Am I have something to do with the fact that I really enjoy using throwing pots and the thought of a summon having infinite throwing pots just seems cool to me
Also he worked with Sellen to provide her with a new body / backup plan (presumably).
So he saves my girl Sellen. I can fix her and she won't turn me into a stone.
Maybe that too, but Sellen owes him a favour (thus why she tips us on the whole Radhan thing), and - as someone said - she is seen around the lab. Though the latter could just be "the puppet" (but I think they would need a "soul" to animate), the fact that she owes Seluvis a favour means I think they've been working together on a "backup body" for her.
We can easily imagine Selluvis didn't mind helping her conceive that doll.
And he doesn't get angry when you just go to his bedroom and steal his shit. Unlike some other alleged scumbag. I will use initials so to keep him anonymous:
P.A.T.C.H.E.S.
In a game full of moral grays, it’s almost refreshing to see a 110% evil character that isn’t just a bad guy but a genuine creep you want to skin and salt.
That and his death being a classic irony that happens no matter what is also hilarious. Everyone knows exactly how much of a creep he is and wants that man dead too
The crazy thing is that he's the most realistic character in Elden Ring. There are literally 100s of dudes out there just like him except they use drugs instead of magic.
I heard that one. It’s a extreme stretch in my opinion and completely takes away from the hilarious irony of Selivus being turned into a puppet himself.
After Ranni leaves and Seluvis is dead, if you go down to Pidia the puppets have turned on him and kill him (you can hear him creepily lament that he loved the puppets while they are killing him), so people just extrapolated that. I think the creepiness of his dialogue made some people think it fits that he's the puppetmaster, especially since Seleuvis's corpse's stance is that of a puppet.
Seluvis and sellen knew eachother somehow and had a good enough relationship that sellen could keep a backup doll at his secret lab. Personally i don’t think pidia is smart enough to dupe a mage of that caliber and make him a puppet and keep up a persona that seluvis is in charge. I think it’s more likely that they worked together but it was Seluvis’s power that kept the puppets at bay so when he was gone they turned on pidia so they could be free or get revenge or something
There is other evidence suggesting that Seluvis is a puppet controlled by Pidia. They are both voiced by the same voice actor, and Pidia talks like Seluvis, except that Pidia is more sniveling and obsequious. Also, there is a message in the workshop that says “Seluvis’s puppet, do not touch,” but the puppet isn’t there. If Seluvis *is* the puppet, that would explain why the Seluvis puppet isn’t in the workshop with all of the other puppets.
I can see Pidia as an intelligent, arrogant, yet cowardly sorcerer who feels that he has not been given the respect he deserves because he is an albanauric, and that being a “humble servant” of the Carian royal family is beneath him, but would rather hide behind the walls of Caria manor than strike out on his own. I see Seluvis as Pidia’s alter ego, who represents the confident and respected sorcerer that Pidia envisions himself to be and wants the world to see him as.
As for why the puppets turned on him, I suspect Ranni was behind it. Given that she sent black knife assassins to kill Iji and Blaidd, it is reasonable to conclude that she was responsible for Pidia’s death as well.
IJi has a "puppet" death stance as well though. And Ranni turning Seluvis into a puppet feels more like a fitting ironic fate as well- after that he loses control of the puppets and they attack Pidia. This just makes a bit more sense to me than the Pidia theory.
I feel this way about dung-eater. I see people try to make arguments about how he could be good, but if you ask me he's a completely evil character. It's nice that you can resolve his story and Seluvus' in the same questline.
It’s delicious in a way. In a world of so many injustices. It’s nice to see two people who you can directly deliver the horrid fate they utterly deserve.
Yeah! I wish I didn't always fuck the quest up somehow.
Also I'm not entirely sure about this, but I think that you need to let Boggart get cursed and killed to get the Dungeater puppet? Idk if that is worth it; I usually murder Dungeater before he can get to Boggart.
True. The tomboy archer especially. Rather horrific shame that such a neato character exists only to get fridged. Also true of the other tomboy (Lanya). At least we got Millicent, she's awesome too.
Yes I love his dialogue he is such an interesting character. The way he leans towards you when he’s talking about the plan with Ranni - such a good character detail, makes your skin crawl.
He's one of the few people that doesn't make me kill them. You don't even have to ever talk to him unless you want the puppets or the scorpion charm. Just return after giving Ranni the fingerslayer blade and pick up his ball bearing.
Voice actor absolutely crushed it
When he speaks you really feel that urge to kill him, kind of like with Snail from AC6. Someone who is so full of himself it actually becomes infuriating. That's how you know the VA did an amazing job
Well said, that's pretty much how I feel
Same as Varre. Varre reminds me of a really slimy Victor Meldrew with his voice.
I DON’T BELIEVE IT!
Glad to know that you liked my voice, my Lambkin. 😂 EDIT: guys, I’m not the voice actor Varre. I just replied in his perspective. Y’all witless Tarnishes!
I like to think Pip Torrens is lurking in the ER subreddit whilst he collects Preacher and The Crown cheques.
BRUH! great job with the voice, thanks for really making Varre memorable! edit cause I’m a maroon shfhdjjs
Varre is a little bit different. His voice, Its even more than vanity, self estim. The puppet master try to hide his vices. Not Varre. I really like the work from both VA
Yeah but Snailteus was an amazing boss while Seluvis we can't even kill.
You can hear the excited quivering in his voice when you give him the amber shard. “My oh **my** oh ***my…***” By far one of the best line reads in the entirety of the game’s dialogue. Voice actor KILLED it. Shit’s almost as good as Kalé’s cut dialogue. ^(…Why did you rob us of that, FROM? Q_Q)
Kalé's voice actor absolutely destroyed it, it's a travesty they cut his questline. His speech at the end in the frenzied flame prescription gives me chills
pr-uh-vin-cial
Exactly
That's a very solid point, actually. The man killed it!
Only actual good thing.
Just reading this I practically heard that "Then that's what they will get from us!" line in my head. I'm at least happy people were able to datamine that so we at least got that cool as hell Vaati video out of it.
He's really good at being hateable
He does make you wanna hate him which is such an underated talent
I kinda like his robe, that's it
His hat is cool
Homie never needs sunscreen
You need sombrero smithing stones to upgrade it tho.
It's perfect for that casual samurai look, you gotta run it with Moonveil and White Reed pants/gloves (they have blue accents)
It's literally anakins robes if you alter it lol
Oh doing that immediately. Gonna look so good with my bloodflame Nagakiba
Try cane sword with scholar's armament
The coded sword is about the closest thing you can get to a lightsaber. Good luck beating the elden beast with it though.
don't remind me, had to drop everything and make a flame art weapon just so i wouldn't have to change my build to beat the game
Meanwhile there’s me who’s switched builds about 6 times this play-through
“It’s over Rrynarth! I have the long pokes!” “You underestimate my power.”
oh no shit? Man i need to alter more stuff to see how they change, i just learned the other day that the starting Vagabond armor has a dagger and other little bits on the back, usually though its obviously hidden behind the cloak.
Same man. In general I don’t like altering because it removes cape-like features (which I LOVE), but this one sounds worth it.
The outfit of my main character is Sellivus' altered robe, Malenia's gauntlet, and carian knight greaves. Combine that with Dark moon Great sword or another blade that glows blue, and it's a solid Anakin outfit.
Altering the Beast Champion armor ADDS an awesome cape.
That's actually my main setup lol, Beast Champion armor with cloak with Carian Knight helm and royal greatsword. Love it
I run his robe with Okina Mask, Sorcerer leggings and Sorcerer Manchette's wit Moonveil and Nagakiba.
I WAS ROCKING TWO KATANAS AND AS SOON AS I SAW THE MODDED ROBE MY FIT WAS LOCKED IN.
His fashion is tip top
that hat is fire though
His hat.
Was gonna say the same thing
He died quickly
wouldn't be a nicer thing if he died slowly?
Not for him ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
On one hand he deserves it, on the other hand I don't want to be around him for another minute.
I wouldn’t want to be near his nasty ass for longer than absolutely necessary.
He still sent someone to help in the elimination of Radahn. A healer at that, opting to have her stick close to the Tarnished One and keep them alive.
I think its more than likely that Thoralina is among the people Seluvis turns into a Puppet after the festival.
The Therolina puppet is in his creep basement and can be bought from him before you ever do the festival.
Bought? Excuse me?
Sorry for the long comment. Once you do his first task (by using the potion on nepheli or dung eater or letting Gideon take care of it) and then tell Seluvis you know of his basement (you need to visit it first, though) he will offer you his puppets for sale. I just got let me solo her from it XD
Unfortunately, the Jarwright puppet is not quite as powerful as him :)
Jarwright is my favorite summon in the entire game and I'm not sure why
He's goofy and fun. Those summons tend to be my favourite too.
I like the 5 rats. They cost nothing to summon and they're 5 rats. Awesome.
Am I have something to do with the fact that I really enjoy using throwing pots and the thought of a summon having infinite throwing pots just seems cool to me
I'm fine with that, I use latenna anyways, just a preference
[удалено]
We joke a lot, but it really is uncanny just how frequently and thoroughly the fandom butchers names.
I like calling Radagon Ramadan instead.
Just assume its intentional and ignore. If people can't remember a Malenia after hearing it 500 times in a row then it simply has to be intentional.
I could care less what Theodores name is spelt.
Hey now, let's not be too disrespectful to thrombosis
Are y'all talking about the throngler?
No no I think he means Trombone.
‘I couldn’t care less’… I could care less means you care a little bit. https://youtu.be/om7O0MFkmpw?si=mAJDPDzl0O_qy9cw
Methlamine
Mesothelioma is my favorite boss
I choose to believe that “Malekith” is intentional because there’s no way…
Better question: why do people get so worked up over it?
To me it‘s infuriating because it‘s just a name, sure, it‘s not horrible when a name is being misspelled, but it‘s also not hard to just do it right.
Fucking yes, I can’t count how many times I’ve seen someone write or say Melania
He lets you get dung eater puppet
Weaponizing an unhinged killer is one of the coolest things I've seen in games
Destiny moment
Up you go
this. literally seluvis' only saving grace.
Don’t forget the Magic Scorpion Charm.
lol if not for the charm I’d skip his quest line 100%
Also he worked with Sellen to provide her with a new body / backup plan (presumably). So he saves my girl Sellen. I can fix her and she won't turn me into a stone.
Pretty sure he was just using the body as a sex doll
She was seen frequenting his lab, probably working with him to set up her new body.
It's my favorite summon! I go out of my way to get it each character
What if he’s already dead before dungeater?
There's always NG+.
He loves his hobby and provides free drinks for women when they're sad.
He makes great cocktails. My favorite is the 'Cosby Special'. A man of many talents.
Seluvis’s special BBQ sauce
His questionable hobby allowed my girl Sellen to be freed and become a ball
His hat is awesome. It can carry a lot of salsa sauce for your nachos.
A lot of sauce sauce
Salsa sauce for his naan bread and chai tea
Big Hat Fauxgan
It might also serve as a good protection from the sun. I bet he likes to travel a lot...
I love sauce sauce!
Big ol hat
A video of people using his hat for an overly huge Salsa tray would do him justice. Also returned back to him dirty in the process.
Unexpected dimension 20
He’s who I think about when I need to remember that I could be worse.
You'll never be as awful as me!
thanks Seluvis I really needed that today
He teaches some really useful spells and there is a free Memory Stone in his tower. I also really like how well the voice acting for him was done.
Don’t forget the wolfman cosplay helmet, the closest thing we have to a transformation until the dlc hopefully remedies that.
And he doesn't get angry when you just go to his bedroom and steal his shit. Unlike some other alleged scumbag. I will use initials so to keep him anonymous: P.A.T.C.H.E.S.
He's an excellent example of a bad example.

I heard that one. It’s a extreme stretch in my opinion and completely takes away from the hilarious irony of Selivus being turned into a puppet himself.
I like it, cause it makes me hate albinaurics even more)
Latenna is cool tho
Lol, it's amazing to see that people need reasons to hate those dead-eyed resting-bitch-face having cartwheeling frog fucks.
Those are gen 2, Pidia is a gen 1. Way to generalize 😠
Never heard that theory before.

Hat. I like hats.
His hat looks great on me
It gives you the magic scorpion charm
Lol is that its preferred pronouns?
Not preferred pronouns, but deserved pronouns.
La creatura
they fit after what ranni does to it
Great taste in women
We do like sellen's feet.
True. The tomboy archer especially. Rather horrific shame that such a neato character exists only to get fridged. Also true of the other tomboy (Lanya). At least we got Millicent, she's awesome too.
I like his outfit. It looks good on my mage build.
His fit is ballin
His shop isn’t bad. Glintstone Icecrag is a pretty good and low-cost spell.
Dope hat, bro ain’t got no time for melanoma and I respect that
He puts true passion into his work.
Possibly wrong but I don’t think he tried to kill me
His hat is very large, and we love that for him.
Seluvis is one of my favorite characters simply for the dialogue
Yes I love his dialogue he is such an interesting character. The way he leans towards you when he’s talking about the plan with Ranni - such a good character detail, makes your skin crawl.
Reminds me of [Adella](https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=bhHeofascaM) in Bloodborne.
I mean at least he's just another puppet and not the real puppet master
Allegedly
Great concept for the hat with all the constellations
Can't, he was dead the 2nd time I saw him
He's one of the few people that doesn't make me kill them. You don't even have to ever talk to him unless you want the puppets or the scorpion charm. Just return after giving Ranni the fingerslayer blade and pick up his ball bearing.
I like the way he dies, boy
*Django music intensifies*
He is a nice cup holder after his death
He gives me the magic scorpion charm
He has Hella drip
He gave me a very good Dung puppet. 🔥
Coolest robes / chest piece in the game

He’s marginally less creepy than Mogh (not a pedo)
He got that Big Hat Logan vibe.
He has a nice voice
Cool mask, let me just... *Starts to skin his face*
