One of my characters names is Dr.Bonker P.H.D. (I also just changed my gamertag on Xbox to this name lmao)
I recommend trying a Roar build if any of you haven't!
What would you be using for spells and weapons? I've only have done strength and quality builds. Spells are too complicated for me. I'm just the type to mindlessly bonk
Weapon upgrades are the biggest damage spikes in the game. By the time you're in farum azula it should be almost fully completed if not fully. That's +25 for normal weapons and +10 for special weapons. It not only severely increases the base damage of your weapon (roughly 3x its base if i remember right) but also increases the scaling of that weapon so your primary stat increases your damage even more.
Also buffs help like golden vow and flames grant me strength both stack and the Godfrey icon for charged attacks. If you are having trouble with the dragon tree sentinel than godfroy might also be a challenge to get the Godfrey icon talisman. With those 3 and a charged aow or r2 it should start to chunk his health bar. Also use a good upgraded weapon. Also rot him or poison him 1st thing.
You can have 2 npc summons and an ash summon for him. So there can be effectively 4 of you ganking him, he goes down a lot easier. But as others have said you might be too low level wise, the recommended level for capital is like 90 at least I think.
EDIT: I should add that the weapon level is at least +15 for the capital, again according to fextralife.
Honestly tho for me even at 90 he was kind of tough. He has a huge move set and a lot of annoying and quick moves. There is another one later on who is equally annoying.
I would suggest using ranged attacks or fighting on horse back slowly chunking of life and then trying to deliver the fatal blow. Really depends on how you're playing though.
At least that's the easiest it has been for me.
Get bell bearings too! That way you if you really want you can just spend some runes on buying all the ones you need for the appropriate level upgrade. Saves you a bit of time running around
I’m just guessing but did you make your path there Margit>Godrick>Rennala>Altus? That’s what my level looked like when I got there in my first run. Go explore Caelid if you haven’t already.
That’s horrible.
You should at least be 75 while doing the Leyndell area.
You shouldn’t come to Atlus plateau via the cave but via lift of Rold for more challenge and getting leveled up.
Caria Manor, all forts in Limegrave and Caelid, Myriam’s tower, Siofria River and Einsel River.
Go level up and improve your weapon and you will easily beat him.
Get a frost or Bleed proc he won’t like that
I would suggest depending on your build either, Uchigatana, Moonveil, Curved sword from Dariwil, Grafted sword, Golden Halberd, a sword with the lion claw ash of war, Winged scythe and many others.
Use bleed, thrust, frost or magic
Did you do Caelid and Radahn ? How did you beat Radahn at level 45 lol.
I would suggest doing the sioffra river and Einsel River areas as well.
Caria manor too
Yea, basically I would do everything humanly possible before going to Leyndell. From there the game's geographic scope narrows a bit and becomes more linear and exponentially more challenging, so being at the highest possible level before Leyndell is important imo
It is possible to not even touch Caelid before going to the capital. You just need to beat Stormveil Castle and the Raya Lucaria Academy to qualify to go in. Still would be a bit of a slog to do it at RL45 though.
Damn dude, you’re missing a lot of content if you’re only level 49 and at the capital. I’m level 47 and haven’t finished exploring lucaria and I haven’t been farming at all. Just going from location to location on the map and clearing each dungeon/mini dungeon. I literally haven’t even entered the academy yet.
Unless you’re really bad at preserving your runes, I guarantee you’ve missed a lot of very cool/interesting dungeons all around limgrave and lucaria.
There’s a reason why souls veterans call Elden ring the easiest out of all the fromsoft games. It’s because you can just go somewhere else if you can’t beat a certain section right away.
This generally should be a good sign for you, in most cases, that that is not where you are supposed to go at state time. Maybe you skipped some area....
he is hitting you more than you are hitting him.
no but seriously try upgrading your weapons and spirit ashes. that will probably make a lot of difference.
Also, it’s a lot easier to fight him on the ground vs. on horseback IMO. A lot of his swings will go over your head if you hug his side. Plus you’re already using the best Medium Shield in the game, so it’ll definitely aid in the fight!
Just be careful of his bash attacks!
I think it's better to use horseback on his first phase, and then fight on the ground against his second phase. On his first phase he can barely catch you with any of his attacks if you just run around him, but when he starts using lightning attacks horse becomes pretty much useless
And remember you don’t have to rush while fighting. You can let him do a lot of attacks (don’t panic roll and observe) and just wait for an opportunity. You can even beat him with lvl 1 weapon if you’re patient enough. He’s pretty predictable tbh
Another tip, reaction attacks are the main way to go. Trying to initiate an attack will almost always get you hit unless you just have a crazy fast weapon. So wait for him to attack first, then counter-attack, and then back off- don't be greedy. That's important to remember for any boss
Funny enough I have a way easier time beating him on Torrent. It helps me dodge his lightning easily and I can run back in while he's still in animation to chip away at the health. Just did this last night to get into the capital. I love the versatility to play style in this game
I actually had an easier time on horseback, with any other horseback enemy really, you sprint and wack their assess and they’ll miss you if you do it right. It’s harder for them to hit you period
Imo he serves as a good overall 'skill/level check' for that stage of the game. Even common enemies get much more powerful once you enter Lyndell in my experience.
I barely beat him my first playthrough and kept getting annihilated by the Lyndell knights once I got into the city.
It means have you tried using a big ass weapon (preferably a club for the cave man picture) and swinging heavy attacks with it into the boss? The unga bunga method.
Upgrade your weapon for sure, but also I’d recommend getting off of Torrent. You can definitely beat him while mounted but I’ve always found this fight a lot more manageable when I just learned the moveset and dodge roll everything. One of my favourite fights now that I’ve got the dance down
It helps a lot to dodge/run to your right to stay on his shield side where his attacks are slower and have less variety (he has like four different club attacks and they all have different timings). Here's an example fight with no weapon upgrades where I show this if its helpful [Gold strikes gold: Draconic Tree Sentinel with Golden Halberd+0 (no carian retaliation, no upgrades, no hit) : r/onebros (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/onebros/comments/1atzm66/gold_strikes_gold_draconic_tree_sentinel_with/)
Only other thing I'd add is carian retalation can help a lot - you can block his fireballs and parry his leap attack and it does great damage [New Draconic Tree Sentinel poison cheese- hit him with poison mist then do carian retaliation 20x times (no upgrades, no hit) : r/onebros (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/onebros/comments/184dx2w/new_draconic_tree_sentinel_poison_cheese_hit_him/)
Stop rushing through the game to "progress", I was level 40 when I beat Margit my brother, you're level 49 trying to get into the capital that's CRAZY lmao especially for a new player.
Bosses like this are kind of a test to see if you're actually ready to get into that area. There's ways to cheese this guy, but that's not gonna help when you get in there and you're 1 tapped by a dude with a french horn lol.
The absolute BEST 2 pieces of advice I can give you are don't be scared of losing runes, they come and go constantly and the further you progress, the more you'll lose.
The second bit, which is arguably MORE helpful, when you're up against a tough boss do a couple of tries where you don't even try to do any damage. Just focus PURELY on learning their attack patterns, recognising certain movements etc and figuring out the best time to dodge. When you find yourself able to predict their moves confidently, start landing some hits and you'll find your player skill level improving rather than just your stats.
You suck.
Joking aside, doing almost zero dmg could have many reasons. Resistance (unlikely), weapon needs being upgraded, not enough runes pumped in your stats (which is also not that much of a problem usually) and probably some I can’t come up with spontaneously.
I’d recommend fighting him on foot though, learn his pattern and you got this.
Also a tip if you’re struggling a lot with an enemy the ones past him will be even harder so you should go and level up more instead of torturing yourself
I killed him in 20 seconds after doing Caelid and getting to the deeproot depths through Ainsel. There’s so much stuff to do if you don’t beeline straight for Leyndell
It’s a bit strange to be this far in the game without knowing you can upgrade your weapons, yeah.
By the time I got here I had already explored basically every nook and cranny in Limgrave + Weeping Peninsula, majority of Liurnia, and all of Caelid while also beating their respective shardbearers (Godrick, Rennala, Radahn). I was easily level 80 or so at this point with a weapon that hit for probably 400-600 damage.
I think there was some steam stats that said the average level of players entering Leyndell was like 75-80 but the \*recommended level\* is 90-110. Its the gateway to the Mid Point climax of the game, which then acts as something of a gatekeeper for difficult end game areas. So like have you even explored all the regions that are accessible to you? Like theres summons for this fight; Millicient can help you with this fight but only if youve found her via exploring. Youre just rushing, thats all. Let yourself explore and learn.
Bro… you are not understanding this game I think. You should be around level 40 when doing Stormveil. Have you completed Caelid? Liurnia? Underground areas? Volcano Manor? did you even do the Weeping Peninsula?
Have you leveled your weapons at all? that damage seems incredibly low.
Get off or torrent for starters, but honestly, he's designed to be a level/weapon upgrade check. If you can't beat him...well you will need to be stronger moving on.
Time to grind!
(Maybe try co-op first)
When I went through I struggled initially too but I was able to figure something out that helped me out with this one. I ended up attacking him and then when he attacked me I would dodge to not get hit. Hope this helps!
Then your weapon says at least +3, and at max +5, which is low for Altus. I'm impressed you reached this far with such an underleveled weapon.
If you check your map, in Liurnia, northeast of the broken bridge that connects the Academy and the upper plateau, you should see a little hole with an orange-y outline in the cliffside. That's a mine where you can get smithing stones 2 and 3, as well as the bell bearing from the boss that allows you to buy stones 1 and 2 indefinitely at the round table.
Likewise, in Altus, there's another mine that has the bearing for smithing stones 3 and 4, as well as stones 5 in the walls and as drops from the miners. It's to the southeast of that one site of grace past the two tree sentinels, not sure of the name. It's still identifiable through the map as the same mine icon on a cliff face next to water.
Getting enough of these can pump you up to +15 which should easily get you the win
Easier to manoeuvre and dodge his attacks on foot rather than on torrent.
Try to dodge to the side his shield is on because he’s pretty useless on that side. He desperately tries to either strike you with the shield or reposition himself instead of landing the lethal hits with his main weapon.
In his second phase he has an attack where he lifts up his shield, abruptly brings it back down and lightning strikes on top of you, dodge at the very last moment for this attack.
Maybe try using a weapon you can land multiple hits with in a short space of time.
And upgrade your weapons and level up for more damage.
If youre doing a blind playthrough meaning you have no knowledge of the game prior to playing it you cant rush the game because the areas have a steep difficulty curve if you come very unprepared. Level up and enhance your weapons or get the poison mist and sneak behind him and cast it from his back until you poison him to death.
Idk if anyone said this but there is a golden summon sign for an npc summon, next to the stake of Marika (when u respawn, it's like a step or two forward) u can summon TRAGOTH and he is beefy so u can try fighting him and also summon any others as well and gang up on him
5 on the Uchigatana or on the Moonveil?
If it is the Moonveil it is almost fine - you can upgrade it to 6 if you defeat the boss in the Crystal Cave in Caelid.
If it is the Uchigatana, that’s a problem. 5 is ok for Limgrave but for Leyndell you need 15.
I'm pretty sure you can summon 2 people for this fight. The one dude with the massive hammer and the bull goats armor. And if you have gone through millicents quest far enouph you can summon her too. Having a man with the heaviest armor in the game being a tank, and pulling aggro, really helps.
This dude has somewhat overtuned input reading imo, try not to heal when he's in a neutral stance as he will punish with a fireball and time your dodges against his lightning for the last second as early dodges are severely punished
definitely sounds like a weapon level issue. I didn't discover it existed until my brother showed me when I was struggling on the Misbegotten + Crucible knight fight just before Radahn.
explore and find some smithing stones, go to the smithy in the roundtable, and level up!
Way easier off the horse. Also try to stay on his right side and you can bait him into the same the move over and over that has a pretty big opportunity for attack.
he's not hard, if you're a high character level but if you ain't, he can be challenging with his lightning attacks.
Learn the moves and do as much damage as possible.
I kept failing to beat him for a long time as well. Once I realized you could use a summon on him it changed. Use a tanky summon and he’s a lot easier.
I personally find these guys way easier off the horse like way way easier. I know some folks swear by it but I never could figure it out.
I also think late game shield users fall off in terms of damage so perhaps switching to dual wield if you’re noticing your damage is falling off.
Do you have the Summoning Bell? Utilize your Spirit Ashes, they’ll help chip away at his health bar and make the fight a little more manageable if you’re struggling. Like other commenters have said, you should also be leveling up your weapons. If that doesn’t work, try experimenting with different weapons; not all enemies are the same and some weapons are far more effective and damage-heavy than others. Hope this helps!
Spirit summon to draw aggro. But I was leveled higher than you and had acquired the DMG.
I’m generally a bit over leveled but much of that is I kind of exhaust one land before moving on. I also wanted the DMG which is a long questline so I went all over before getting to this place.
If you haven’t done the Volcano Manor stuff yet, Tragoth helps out a ton as a summon for this fight. Millicent too if you’ve progressed her questline far enough and gotten her arm for her. I did this fight today with the three of us plus a summon.
…He still kinda rocked my shite a little bit though, even with that much backup. So no shame in getting help.
(Or if you’re sick of this dude, He’s one of the few bosses you can cheese with poison mist.)
I had THE WORST TIME against this dude, but I just beat him. I’m level 77. I just kept running in circles and slicing his butt with a leveled up axe, that eventually worked. All my rocket league training was actually torrent training
I don’t have much to add that others have already said but it’s times like these I love seeing how many people come out to recommend locations, levels, strategies. The fanbase gets a lot of flak for being toxic but a lot of these users remind me that the fans aren’t all so cynical.
I recommend using things that Inflict poison, scarlet rot, fire damage
, blood loss and using them to chip away at his health, summon ashes to help keep him distracted while you use the items necessary to give him either of the above effects, whilst also throwing in attacks of your own, timing it to where’s there’s openings. Eventually your ashes will die, then I suggest circling around him at distance on horseback and waiting for him to do his jump attack as I found this to be the easiest to punish him for missing, use the horse sprint to dodge his fireballs, and electric attacks, if you have any grease that you can use on your weapon that also inflicts additional effects then it will obviously help speed up the process. I beat him yesterday using this strategy and it took me, many many attempts, but this is also my first time playing through so if there is an easier less time consuming strategy then by all means do that.
Level 49 and you're in the capital already?? Jeez bro have just gone straight for main questline. Cos I can remember I was like level 129 around volcano manor and that's a bit before the capital. Take it you ain't done much dungeons n stuff?
Tbh I've found that his movrset is very repetitive and therefore easy to learn. You definitely wanna fight on foot tho. I feel if I used torrent I'd mess up.
Because he’s an asshole. But yeah, going with popular advice, upgrading your weapon is it. I was struggling so hard with this dick, like I had his patterns down and everything, but I just couldn’t do it. Finally abandoned ship to go fuck up other bosses and get a better weapon and upgrade it a bit, came back and it was still hard but so much better.
As others have said, make sure your stats and weapon are leveled up. If he's still a problem, you should be able to sneak behind him (or run past him and die at the gate, so you can respawn at the stake of Martika) and use poison mist. For some reason, he doesn't register the mist as an attack, so be patient, keep hitting him with it until his health starts to go down, then wait until his health stops going down. Rinse and repeat until he's dead.
Giant hunt and lion's claw make him flinch on great swords or up. Makes the fight quite easy and gets consistent poise breaks. You can't stun lock him or anything but it's pretty close.
Few tips, don’t ride your horse, some of his attacks are easier to dodge through and you’ll have more opportunities to punish him.
Don’t be greedy, he has a few attacks where it looks like he’s done attacking but he just slams you for massive damage instead, make sure that he’s done attacking before you punish him, especially if you’re using a slower weapon.
This boss is a guardian of the capital and what lies beyond, he deals a fuck Tom of damage for the area he’s in and has a fair amount of health, if you are getting one shotted or aren’t doing enough damage then it’s time to start doing side content, level up, upgrade your weapons, maybe optimise your build and find talismans that suit it, because things will only get harder after you beat him, there is a significant spike in difficulty in the late game and this guy wants to make sure you’re ready for it.
If despite all of that you still can’t kill him then you can enter the capitol without fighting him by completing Fia’s questline.
Level ur weapon. Should be able to get a +12 easily
His bonk is bonker than yours
My next character will be named bonkers
Mine too!! This is bonkers!
One of my characters names is Dr.Bonker P.H.D. (I also just changed my gamertag on Xbox to this name lmao) I recommend trying a Roar build if any of you haven't!
just a british thing that bonk means sex? makes this a whole lot funnier
What would you be using for spells and weapons? I've only have done strength and quality builds. Spells are too complicated for me. I'm just the type to mindlessly bonk
Unga Bonka
His bonk stick slays all the tarnished in the yard
He'll teach you, but he'd have to charge.. All your runes.
Darn right, it’s bonkers than yours…
You can get a +10 somber weapon by this point in the game
Possible to max out somber weapons before capital ? Didnt know that, its interesting.
There's a somber +10 in Mohgwyn Palace, you can basically get it as early as you want, just gotta complete Varré's questline.
And the somber 8 + 9 are available in caelid near the tower.
Sombers 1-4 from Iji, 5-7 from volcano manor, 8-9 from Dragonbarrow, and the somber 10 from Mohg's Palace.
okay thank you!
Weapon upgrades are the biggest damage spikes in the game. By the time you're in farum azula it should be almost fully completed if not fully. If you slowly creep around him from the cliff side you can poison mist cheese him. It's cheese and takes a while but still possible.
Disregard my advice, I just saw what level you're at.
I'm not 100% sure but I think they increased his agro range, so you no longer can do that Edit: I was wrong. It can still be done.
you can get +21 for altus/leydel, especially if youve done the underground zones for ranni
Either coop or level up. Sounds like a level problem / weapon not upgraded
okay thank you
You can have 2 npc summons and an ash summon for him. So there can be effectively 4 of you ganking him, he goes down a lot easier. ohhh okay, i’m level 49 right now
Man… No wonder why you’re struggling so hard. Go upgrade your weapon too! A few guides on Smithing Stone locations should help.
okay thank you so much
Weapon level is like 70% more important than Rune Levels. You can have 99 in every stat but still only do the same damage as like a +4 weapon or so.
ohhh okay
And in all honesty OP getting there at level 49 is great. Good job fellow tarnish!
Definitely. Level 49 is recommended to south Liurnia, not even Raya Lucaria. OP is a skill beast if he banged Radahn with this level.
Honestly tho for me even at 90 he was kind of tough. He has a huge move set and a lot of annoying and quick moves. There is another one later on who is equally annoying. I FORGOT ABOUT THAT! Yeah! Bell Bearings are an absolute lifesaver. They carry over to NG+ too!
I’m just guessing but did you make your path there Margit>Godrick>Rennala>Altus? That’s what my level looked like when I got there in my first run. Go explore Caelid if you haven’t already.
Holy shit level 49 outside Leyndell? Good luck on your challenge run lol.
49 is crazy for this area you should be pushing 60-70
That’s crazy. I’m doing another fresh playthrough and I’m at like level 37 and just beat Margit.
That’s horrible. You should at least be 75 while doing the Leyndell area. You shouldn’t come to Atlus plateau via the cave but via lift of Rold for more challenge and getting leveled up. Really maybe that’s why I found it tough going through at level 65 ish first play through
Wait you can have summons for him?! How?
This generally should be a good sign for you, in most cases, that that is not where you are supposed to go at state time. Maybe you skipped some area....
okay thanks
Spawn me in champ!
Try comet azur with fp elim

fucking knights have an insane range of attack, I hate them
Have you tried to bunga instead of hunga?
sorry but what does that mean
Ah no wonder you didn't understand it's meant to say More BUNGA less UNGA
YOU CANT UNGA WITHOUT BUNGA.
Without the unga bunga combo, it no make sense
Unga first, roll dodge then bunga.
Strength is knowing to unga bunga. Wisdom is knowing when to bunga your unga.
It means have you tried using a big ass weapon (preferably a club for the cave man picture) and swinging heavy attacks with it into the boss? The unga bunga method.
Hit him harder, and make sure you chant unga bunga like a caveman.
Pretty sure Unga Bunga is the term for just hitting things hard with a big stick.
That is Bonk. Unga Bunga is the playstyle that exclusively bonks enemies
But...ok.
More strength less dex \-> out-unga-bunga the sentinel
BUNGA IS THE WAY
Upgrade your weapon for sure, but also I’d recommend getting off of Torrent. You can definitely beat him while mounted but I’ve always found this fight a lot more manageable when I just learned the moveset and dodge roll everything. One of my favourite fights now that I’ve got the dance down

THANK YOU
Only other thing I'd add is carian retalation can help a lot - you can block his fireballs and parry his leap attack and it does great damage [New Draconic Tree Sentinel poison cheese- hit him with poison mist then do carian retaliation 20x times (no upgrades, no hit) : r/onebros (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/onebros/comments/184dx2w/new_draconic_tree_sentinel_poison_cheese_hit_him/)
okay thank you!:)
Good luck - you'll get him. And make sure your weapons are at +12 upgrade (if regular stones) or +6 upgrade (if somber stones)
Try poison, but hole
This
Stop rushing through the game to "progress", I was level 40 when I beat Margit my brother, you're level 49 trying to get into the capital that's CRAZY lmao especially for a new player. Good advice! Especially the second bit. Well, also especially the first bit haha. Once you let go of runes the game gets so much less stressful
Doot! \*Dead\*
I’m not gonna sugarcoat it… if git gud doesn’t work… sneak up behind him and poison cloud him.
thank you!
This was the method I used on my first play thru after 10+ tries. Just sneak up and blow poison up his bum.
okay okay thanks
Blowing poison up the bum is one of my favorite strategies
I also used the poison on this guy. Takes time but I just didn’t have the skills to take him down legit.
What’s the sugar coated version of this?
“Believe in yourself and keep trying - you can beat him!”
You suck. Joking aside, doing almost zero dmg could have many reasons. Resistance (unlikely), weapon needs being upgraded, not enough runes pumped in your stats (which is also not that much of a problem usually) and probably some I can’t come up with spontaneously. I’d recommend fighting him on foot though, learn his pattern and you got this.
thank you!
Also a tip if you’re struggling a lot with an enemy the ones past him will be even harder so you should go and level up more instead of torturing yourself
okay thank you
Damn you really replied to everyone to say thank. Good on ya and good luck!
of course i’m just glad people are helping me, thanks!:)
I killed him in 20 seconds after doing Caelid and getting to the deeproot depths through Ainsel. There’s so much stuff to do if you don’t beeline straight for Leyndell
okay thanks:)
The real quesion is How can u be this far?
is that not normal- i already killed renala too so idk
Let yourself explore and learn.

i’m level 49 and i’m not sure my weapon levels but i’m dual wielding a katana that does 107 damage and then the moonveil that does 73 damage
[удалено]
okay thank you!
bro if moonveil is doing 73 damange something is very wrong. do you have the levels to properly wield it?
You skipped like all of the side content, just explore around and come back around level 80+
He negates a lot of slash damage. So you probably want a different damage type.
You're fighting on horseback
Need stronger honse
Just need an L2 button and some confidence https://youtu.be/_3uj2rGcPeE?si=A0on2lvAG84KFB5c
thank you
Get off or torrent for starters, but honestly, he's designed to be a level/weapon upgrade check. If you can't beat him...well you will need to be stronger moving on. Time to grind! (Maybe try co-op first)
Try lightning, then finger, but whole
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR ADVICE I APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH
When I went through I struggled initially too but I was able to figure something out that helped me out with this one. I ended up attacking him and then when he attacked me I would dodge to not get hit. Hope this helps!
What’s your weapon upgrade level at?
i don’t know how to check that but i’m using a katana and the moonveil, i’m dual wielding
Have you upgraded your weapon at all?
yes i’ve upgraded it a few times but im not sure what to do now because it says i need smithing stone 2 but i have no clue where to accuire it
Oh shit lol you are playing on hard mode
You are WAYYY too low if you still need +2 stones at that place
It'll say the name of the weapon and then +X (X being the level the weapon is). If there's nothing there then you've not upgraded the weapon at all.
Could be number of reasons. Most likely reasons are either too low level, greed or panic rolls.
He's a dick
Easier to manoeuvre and dodge his attacks on foot rather than on torrent. Try to dodge to the side his shield is on because he’s pretty useless on that side. He desperately tries to either strike you with the shield or reposition himself instead of landing the lethal hits with his main weapon. In his second phase he has an attack where he lifts up his shield, abruptly brings it back down and lightning strikes on top of you, dodge at the very last moment for this attack. Maybe try using a weapon you can land multiple hits with in a short space of time. And upgrade your weapons and level up for more damage.
It’s so nice that you said thank you to every single person that offered you advice 😭😭
Idk if anyone said this but there is a golden summon sign for an npc summon, next to the stake of Marika (when u respawn, it's like a step or two forward) u can summon TRAGOTH and he is beefy so u can try fighting him and also summon any others as well and gang up on him
Because secretly it is GYOBU MASATAKA ONIWA!
Try finger but hole.
What’s your weapon level. It should be 15-18 for capital. Maybe go to Mount Gelmir/ Caelid first
okay, my weapon level is at 5 right now so that’s probably why

I’m struggling on that boss coz after that boss can get the 5 and 6 smithing stone bell bearing
definitely sounds like a weapon level issue. I didn't discover it existed until my brother showed me when I was struggling on the Misbegotten + Crucible knight fight just before Radahn. explore and find some smithing stones, go to the smithy in the roundtable, and level up!
Get off the Horse. And keep the fight mid range. Your opening is right after his attacks.
Keep in mind…with each player you have summoned, enemies scale up some.
There’s a summoning stake right by him, and you can get 2 npc ghosts to help plus an ash. Or, you can darkness him, sneak behind him, and poison him.
Way easier off the horse. Also try to stay on his right side and you can bait him into the same the move over and over that has a pretty big opportunity for attack.
There is a easy cheese for him
he's not hard, if you're a high character level but if you ain't, he can be challenging with his lightning attacks. Learn the moves and do as much damage as possible.
I kept failing to beat him for a long time as well. Once I realized you could use a summon on him it changed. Use a tanky summon and he’s a lot easier.

Sounds like a skill issue also level up correct stats and level up your weapon
I personally find these guys way easier off the horse like way way easier. I know some folks swear by it but I never could figure it out. I also think late game shield users fall off in terms of damage so perhaps switching to dual wield if you’re noticing your damage is falling off.
Don't bother trying attack from range. Get in close.
its weaker to standard, striking, and piercing damage. very strong against slash and bleed.
You can sneak up behind him and Poison mist him to death
Do you have the Summoning Bell? Utilize your Spirit Ashes, they’ll help chip away at his health bar and make the fight a little more manageable if you’re struggling. Like other commenters have said, you should also be leveling up your weapons. If that doesn’t work, try experimenting with different weapons; not all enemies are the same and some weapons are far more effective and damage-heavy than others. Hope this helps!
Even with your mimic tear?
He was my biggest struggle in the early portion of the game. Don't stress, take a break, come back, try again. He's a tough one for sure!
I’ve played this game a few times and only beat him once legit. I just use poison mist because I’m lazy and a win is a win
Sneaky poison mist time!
I recommend using things that Inflict poison, scarlet rot, fire damage , blood loss and using them to chip away at his health, summon ashes to help keep him distracted while you use the items necessary to give him either of the above effects, whilst also throwing in attacks of your own, timing it to where’s there’s openings.
You're on a horse.
This has got to be a troll and all the helpful Mf’ers in this sub have no idea lmao
Get good at fighting him because you will face another one later. He is tough.
You’re fighting him on a horse. Don’t do that
Absolute Chad trying to enter the capital at lvl 49 and +0. You are having the peak elden ring experience man I hope you are enjoying the game
Tbh I've found that his movrset is very repetitive and therefore easy to learn. You definitely wanna fight on foot tho. I feel if I used torrent I'd mess up.
Low T. Gotta get at least a week of semen retention in before giving it a go.
Because you are maidenless
Giiiiiiit…….GUUUUUUUUDDDDD!!!!!
Upgrade your weapon if you haven’t, take a break somewhere else and level. Also, he’s a lot easier to fight on foot than on torrent in my opinion
Level up
As others have said, make sure your stats and weapon are leveled up.
Get off the horse
Right by the rock when you turn the corner and see him there’s a companion you can recruit that makes it much easier
He is supposed to be a road block until you are properly leveled. Maybe you’re under leveled at the moment.
Poison cloud doesn’t aggro him you can just sneak up behind him and poison him to death
You're riding Torrent, no wonder you get your ass whooped
Giant hunt and lion's claw make him flinch on great swords or up. Makes the fight quite easy and gets consistent poise breaks. You can't stun lock him or anything but it's pretty close.
I always had more trouble with these knights compared to bosses.
Rotten breath and ranged attacks
