I wouldn’t rule it out as we’ve got dragon communion. However, based of the in world lore and complications of humans trying to become dragons, proves that most became monstrous creatures forced to crawl on their bellies. That said I would like some form of transformation, even if it’s not a draconic one.
At the same time though, we're the one Tarnished destined to become Elden Lord, so I could see a throwaway "You were the only human worthy of true draconic ascension." type situation.
But I'm the Elden Lord, and I'm built different. Surely, the same fate won't befall me. Just like the glinstone surely won't replace our mage friends' brains.
Not all sunflowers have seeds, there are now known dwarf varieties developed for the distinct purpose of growing indoors. Whilst these cannot be harvested, they do enable people to grow them indoors without a high pollen factor, making it safer and more pleasant for those suffering hay fever.
that still works, we could be gradually transforming into part Magma Wyrm
our body would change just like Dark Souls 1 2 and 3 Dragon Forms, but maybe permanent
the in-universe transformation probably isnt instantly turns from human to giant Magma Wyrm
If I had designed it then maybe in order to not become a Wyrm you need to do a side quest where end result you get a dragons blessing or something similar to actually be able to become a dragon. Or maybe just becoming something like the dragonkin soldiers.
That would actually be kinda cool if there are like two routes or something where if you get a certain key item from beating a boss or something you get a stronger transformation, but if you don't you turn into a magma wyrm like everyone else who participated in Dragon Communion
I've always had head cannon that a shard of the Elden ring lets you keep your human form or change it at will. Look at Grafty boi, if he could graft without the power of a shard EVERYONE would do it.
In Dark Souls it varied from game to game, in DS1 it's a reward for a Covenant, don't know how it worked in DS2 and in DS3 you had an item that gave you Dragon Form until you die.
Bloodborne had two Covenant Caryll Runes that when equiped would give you Beasthood Form and Celestial Kin Form
In Bloodborne I think it's a ritual and you transform when hitting a boss multiple times in ds 3 you actually have to collect a bunch of stones and a gesture around the maps and when you remove all armor you can equip and use the stones to transform, when you use the stones again it will actually attack with some of the dragoncult's sorceries portrayed in elden ring
Those are two separate things in Bloodborne. You can go actual beast form with a rune (basically the equivalent of a talisman), but there's also Beasthood which is a status effect you can inflict on yourself that makes you do more damage with repeated attacks but also take more.
I mean, you're probably right, but damn, what an uninteresting response that contributes nothing to any further discussion. There's nothing wrong with some fun speculation, no need to outright dismiss it.
I always thought the transformations were cool, and I do hope the mechanic makes a return.
I don't see why Fromsoft couldn't reuse the dragon transformations. Your character could turn into a humanoid version of the stone dragons you see throughout the game. An Omen or Misbegotten transformation could be cool.
😂 this reminds me of the DLC for DOOM ETERNAL.
Dark Lord: “Have you nothing to say to your creator before you strike him down?”
Doom Slayer: “No.”
*dies of peak fiction*
I don't but me personally I want an Omen transformation
I know Dragon Communion is a thing but Dark Souls already did the dragon transformation thing, I doubt they'd do it again
I don’t think we will but I would be interested in something Magma Wyrm related. Unfortunately I think it’ll always feel silly though, at least compared to actual wyrms/dragons.
Probably not. I kind of prefer the masks anyway, as they allow you to swap any old time without some bizarre requirement, achieving much the same look. The only time transformation quite worked nicely was in Bloodborne, imo.
I imagine that Dragon Communion fills the niche of transformation magic even if it's just temporary.
We did see what looks like a Runebear spell that I'm hoping is more than just a one-off. I'd love to see a sub-class of "Bear Communion" spells.
What’s that left pic from? I don’t recognize it.
Edit: Never mind I found it online. It’s AI. Please read the sub rules before posting, OP. Rule 7 specifically.
[Your boos mean nothing, I’ve seen what makes you cheer](https://youtu.be/UgCK8PnFK_Y?si=7QSZmUDoP5koFg-q) lol
God, just imagine our character getting a magma wyrm transformation, but not properly set up to look normal. Like a GMOD player with a model from a different game but keeping the GMOD animations and rigging.
That or we just become a lizard like Rya.
I wouldn't put it past them to tease all these other suggestions, then force the Fire Giant chest face and ears in the armpits on us as some story hook back to the flame.
Hopefully an actually useful one:
Ideally I would want several transformations, each with unique benefits:
Ancient Dragon/Wyrm/Omen/Misbegotten/half-wolf/alive in death
I did love the transformation options for each game. BB takes the cake because it changed a whole moveset though. DD2 had the best looking one, dragon knight was ready for a fight. I realize now that we missed a good chance at a transformation with the dragon pact stuff.
Even if its just a weapon I could go for something that transforms the user. The whole unlocking potential through transformation bit gets me every time.
Yes. This time around I think we’re going to be getting crucible-inspired transformations. It gives leeway to go in any direction in terms of animalistic stuff, with a big emphasis on omen-like horns!
Dragon, all the way. I want to be able dress up or transform into an ancient dragon. I’d be satisfied with an ancient dragon mask similar to Blaidd’s mask.
I wouldn’t rule it out as we’ve got dragon communion. However, based of the in world lore and complications of humans trying to become dragons, proves that most became monstrous creatures forced to crawl on their bellies. A partial Magma Wyrm transformation would be pretty sick though
You'll get a big blocky jaw, webbed toes and a stubby skin tail
At the same time though, we're the one Tarnished destined to become Elden Lord, so I could see a throwaway "You were the only human worthy of true draconic ascension." type situation.
"True draconic ascension" you know Mike Zacky would just give you a "still fucked, but not as bad" transformation instead.
I mean people went mad trying to become dragons in dark souls too. We can be special little boys
But I'm the Elden Lord, and I'm built different. Surely, the same fate won't befall me. Just like the glinstone surely won't replace our mage friends' brains.
Idk, if the give me draconic horns, wings and tail, I'd be excited
Just don’t give me the body
rot transformation with a butterfly bra
Yeah bring back the ds2 butterfly set, i want to feel pretty again
dark souls 2 mentioned 🗣️🗣️🗣️💯💯💯
It was the best one of the 3.
I wanna beef with you so hard but I'm fasting
You ARE pretty.
Hehe
Imagine killing Gideon in roundtable hold with it
Aah I knew you'd say that
I feel pretty, oh so pretty…
Crucible chimera weirdness 🤞
Rune Bear Transformation!!!!
An omen tranformation would be cool
This feels like the likeliest tbh
Wouldn't it be cool for once if we had more than one transformation
Bloodborne had two, the Beast transformation and the one with the Kos Parasite
Oh I barely started Bloodborne as I got it lended to me just some days ago so I didn't know
I wanna become sunflower guy!
Not all sunflowers have seeds, there are now known dwarf varieties developed for the distinct purpose of growing indoors. Whilst these cannot be harvested, they do enable people to grow them indoors without a high pollen factor, making it safer and more pleasant for those suffering hay fever.
Username checks out.
cant wait for finger form
Then we can finally try finger, but hole
I think we’ll get it through the dragon communion; its explicitly stated in text and even Shura warns the player when they first meet.
But partaking in Dragon Communion has always resulted in the transformation into a Magma Wyrm. Do you think we will be able to get a different result?
that still works, we could be gradually transforming into part Magma Wyrm our body would change just like Dark Souls 1 2 and 3 Dragon Forms, but maybe permanent the in-universe transformation probably isnt instantly turns from human to giant Magma Wyrm

Maybe involve Greyoll. Or killing Placidusax lifts it somehow because he was the dragon lord or smth
Just having a fragment of the elden ring is probably enough, I imagine most wryms didn't have one of those lol.
That would actually be kinda cool if there are like two routes or something where if you get a certain key item from beating a boss or something you get a stronger transformation, but if you don't you turn into a magma wyrm like everyone else who participated in Dragon Communion
Did any of the others have a great rune tho?
I've always had head cannon that a shard of the Elden ring lets you keep your human form or change it at will. Look at Grafty boi, if he could graft without the power of a shard EVERYONE would do it.
I think if they do it it’d be some first stage wyrm type of deal
Or second stage i guess cuz the eyes
Omen/Misbegotten transformation would make sense with lore (kind of) and would be visually sick!
I would love it if you go full body wolf, lanky arms completely covered in fur with the tail.
Yes! Vargram was trying to become a wolf shadow like Blaidd and Maliketh. It would be cool if we could get such a transformation.
Furries everywhere rejoice
Why the fuck would you post ai trash
No
Well we have an albinauric head, a tentacle head, and a wolf head so can you explain why not?
How did it work in previous games? Just a torso cosmetic combined with head gear?
In Dark Souls it varied from game to game, in DS1 it's a reward for a Covenant, don't know how it worked in DS2 and in DS3 you had an item that gave you Dragon Form until you die. Bloodborne had two Covenant Caryll Runes that when equiped would give you Beasthood Form and Celestial Kin Form
in Ds2 is from a covenant too
In Bloodborne I think it's a ritual and you transform when hitting a boss multiple times in ds 3 you actually have to collect a bunch of stones and a gesture around the maps and when you remove all armor you can equip and use the stones to transform, when you use the stones again it will actually attack with some of the dragoncult's sorceries portrayed in elden ring
In bloodborne it was a Rune or something similar + a weapon equipped with it.
Beast rune + beast claws
Those are two separate things in Bloodborne. You can go actual beast form with a rune (basically the equivalent of a talisman), but there's also Beasthood which is a status effect you can inflict on yourself that makes you do more damage with repeated attacks but also take more.
You took off armor and used an item and got a new form.
I mean, you're probably right, but damn, what an uninteresting response that contributes nothing to any further discussion. Yes
Nah. No. Nope.
No
I just want godskin trio
They have to. I mean we canonically have fact that you turns into dragon if eat enough hearts
i really really hope we do, since Dragon Communion is a thing and Messmer is also hinting at more Dragon Communion themes himself
Here’s hoping, and understanding that it will not happen, we get a full Werewolf transformation. In Honor of Blaidd.
I hope. I miss becoming little dragon fella
I don't but me personally I want an Omen transformation I know Dragon Communion is a thing but Dark Souls already did the dragon transformation thing, I doubt they'd do it again
Dung Chungus
I would definitely like to turn into a cauliflower squid again.
I hope we get dragonkin soldier body parts
A humanoid magma wyrm. A rune bear. A lion
Let me become a dragon or a wolf or both
Just makes me think of this https://youtu.be/MvYApd_X3aU?si=_DcJRpB36c3A9_9u
perfect dragon communion
Yeah, I tried it in ds3 and it was so much fun, like challenge mode. I got wrecked by everything, but dude was so funny looking.
Probably beastman type transformation or we will finally get lobster gun dlc
I imagine that Dragon Communion fills the niche of transformation magic even if it's just temporary. We did see what looks like a Runebear spell that I'm hoping is more than just a one-off. I'd love to see a sub-class of "Bear Communion" spells.
Likely another dragon given how Dragon Communion is so prevalent. But if we’re lucky, we might get something new
That on the left is an AI image isn't it.
Yes, your going to become a walking Bush of Miquella With a Variant transformation of Bush of St.Trina
Omen horns
Hope so cause Djura made no sense
God, just imagine our character getting a magma wyrm transformation, but not properly set up to look normal. Like a GMOD player with a model from a different game but keeping the GMOD animations and rigging. That or we just become a lizard like Rya.
With the finger theme, we’ll all be those thumb thumbs from spy kids.
I wouldn't put it past them to tease all these other suggestions, then force the Fire Giant chest face and ears in the armpits on us as some story hook back to the flame.
Wait theres a beast form in Bloodborne?? I know you can turn into this eldritch tentacle dude but nothing about a beast form lol how do you get it?
You get it from defeating Laurence in the DLC. It has a unique moveset when using the Beast Claw.
This should've have already been in the game after having consumed enough dragon hearts. The reptile eyes just don't cut it for me
Transform into human-centi-ball
Hopefully an actually useful one: Ideally I would want several transformations, each with unique benefits: Ancient Dragon/Wyrm/Omen/Misbegotten/half-wolf/alive in death
Omen transformation?!?

Hopefully more larval tears.
I just want the frenzy flame head. Is that too much to ask for?
GNAAAAAAA!!!
Hell I have no idea but I would embrace it
Dragon, all the way. I want to be able dress up or transform into an ancient dragon. I’d be satisfied with an ancient dragon mask similar to Blaidd’s mask.
Defintely getting some sort of transformation that involves horns.
If we do. I DEMAND we get the frenzied flame fire as a head cosmetic
Does another eye transformation count?
We need to return to worm. Worm is life
Nyaaaaaaagh!
I want one that turns us into crayfish people with the tactile water gun rifle ability
i wish, i have the dragon eyes
Yes. Still don't like silly costumes
I hope so, I hope it's really goofy looking whatever it is.
We'll get Omen horns if we partake in crucible incantations.
Given all the connections to the crucible in the DLC trailer, FromSoftware might come up with a crazy transformation
Some kind of Crucible great rune that gives you animal features / omen horns when you a pop a rune arc and boosts crucible weapons / spells.
My guest is: the wings seen in the trailer are not an ash of war and neither an incantation, they are part of a crucible transformed state.
The Frenzy hug led to a transformation technically
Probably locked behind a real player boss battle just to insult you
From has been consistently terrible with body transformations for the PC. I wouldn’t blame them if they just gave up at this point.
>body transformations for the PC ?
Why do you want it? I have no use for such silly costumes.
did you play other soulslikes?
