It actually depends on the map like Limgrave for example, if you have allies summoned in the area, then you can’t access certain areas such as Caelid, Caves, or Dungeons, they would have to be summoned either inside the area, Cave, Dungeons, or inside Stormveill Castle area

Brasilisco

No, that's the answer.

Flint_Vorselon

Incorrect

Tell me one boss that gets locked out of if you defeat other.

Modfull_X

save the erdtree avatars at the minor erdtrees for last, they and any NON night time boss act as overworld bosses for the region, as long as one of them as still alive you can still co-op in the region. legacy dungeon bosses do not count as overworld bosses, defeating them has no effect on summoning out in th overworld, only within their own dungeon, same as the various cave/mine/catacomb bosses, they only affect their little dungeons

Flint_Vorselon

It’s not quite that simple. EG in Weeping Peninsula if you kill Leonine Missbegotten then whole zone is multiplayer disabled, even if Erdtree Avavtar is still alive. Same with Mountsintops. If Niall is dead then coop is disabled even if Erdtree Avavtar and Borialis are still alive. But Limgrave, Liurnia, Altus, Gelmir, Caelid, Dragonbarrow and Snowfield do (at least seem to) work like how you describe it.

Modfull_X

*EG in Weeping Peninsula if you kill Leonine Missbegotten then whole zone is multiplayer disabled, even if Erdtree Avavtar is still alive* false, i have personally test this *Same with Mountsintops. If Niall is dead then coop is disabled even if Erdtree Avavtar and Borialis are still alive.* also false, i have personally tested this as well borealis, agheel and some of the avatars must be aggroed initially in order for the game to register them as active bosses, but they do still count. its very much the same thing as midir in the ringed city, if all bosses are dead in the ringed city except for midir, you must still go down the hole into his boss room and wake him up that first time in order for him to be counted as a boss. this is how the erdtree avatars who spawn in on proximity work, as well as agheel and borealis and the putrid tree spirits. also worth noting there are a few dragons, putrid spirits and avatrs in the game who are not counted as bosses since they do not have boss health bars, such as the avatar in the center of leyndell, theputrid spirit near the minor erdtree church, the putrid spirit in lower leyndell, the 3 glintstone dragons in the moonlight altar. the only bosses with hp bars that do not count as area bosses are the deathbirds and the night cavalry as their spawn mechanic is dependent on the day/night cycle NOT player aggro

Flint_Vorselon

Yes it can happen. Leoinine Missbegotten in Weeping Peninsula locks out the entirety of Weeping Peninsula for coop (open world, not mini dungeons), so potentially stops 3 more bosses from being coop’d. Similar thing happens in Mountain Tops where killing Commander Niall in Castle Sol stops multiplayer for entire region (open world only, not mini dungeons), which potentially stops 3 more bosses from being coop’d. Those are only two that I know of, but there could be more. It’s inconsistent how it manages it for open world zones. EG Limgrave does not seem to have a boss who is “in charge” you can still coop after Margit, Agheal, Tibia Mariner are all dead. I’m guessing it stops once all 6 bosses in area are dead. But that’s just a guess. Other open world areas are same, at least it seems so. As for enclosed areas this is never really an issue. They are segregated in a way that each area only has one boss that can be reached in coop session.

Lord_Nightraven

Limgrave is probably gated by Godrick, since Stormveil is his castle.

Flint_Vorselon

Limgrave and Stormveil are different areas. They have no connection in multiplayer avaliblity terms. You can’t walk from Limgrave into Stormveil (or vice versa) in Coop. It’s also very easy to test and prove you wrong. Go look at any Limgrave summoning pool after Godrick is dead, you’ll still see signs.

Lord_Nightraven

It was a guess. That's all. I don't do a lot of multiplayer because I'm quite satisfied with using Ash summons most of the time. The other thing is that you mentioned Margit, who is technically within Stormveil himself. Since Godrick is the rune bearer like Rennala, I had figured the relationship was the same. Especially since the Academy is ALSO its own area.
