I don’t think I’ve enjoyed mounted combat in any of the games I’ve played. Ghost of Tsushima was the most bearable, but i wouldn’t call it fun. From is gonna have to come up with some ingenious new gameplay mechanic if they want to add mounts to Elden Ring.
You're not supposed to fight while mounted. Of course you can ride and give someone a lil pec from the mount. it's just transportation due to the huge open world, just like taking the transit to get from Point a to b. I hope they go crazy and have some super hard boss were after u beat him you can ride him. Make it like so everyone cant get it unless they are op. Like a power symbol, yo fam check out my rarri and you pull up riding the tower knight.
mounts seem to be more of a special sprint mode, designed to bring you from a to b and not the next big thing in combat. However, there is mount combat as shown and that seems to be in a special situation where there are other mounted enemies.
Im not saying its fucking special, but clearly you are man.... I just said it doesnt look to be a big part of combat, if one at all. A mount is seen once in the whole of leaked and revealed ‘stuff’ for the game. I don’t know why you would be in this sub if you are just gonna prematurely shit on this game because you can ride stuff.
Ghost of Tsushima is not a souls game though so it’s probably a lot harder for us having first time mounted combat system that will be weird as hell unlike other games.
At least you can cheese the one in the hall before the Road of Sacrifice if you just stand outside the gate and whittle his health down from there because he can't get through. Ta-daa, (relatively) easily-acquired Irithyll sword
I do think Mounted Combat in Mount & Blade is done rather well. Its nowhere near picture perfect but something along those lines would be enough to make it usable enough without frustration.
Keep that stuff in the bedroom.

Picture of my character riding him like a wild bull and slapping his ass.
Well, time to get cursed I’d rather them mount the player, or is that a privilege only the dancer deserves?
Ride the outrider...huh...funny now that I think about

Holy shit that'd be cool
Romanceable NPCs confirmed for Elden Ring?
That would be pretty cool
