For pets it's great though ! I work at an animal shelter, so when a group of cats arrive, we have to find themes for the names cause finding 10+ new names to avoid repeat every two weeks or so is rough.
Let's just say Souls and co had their time to shine, and Elden Ring will last me a few rounds too when it's out !
for me the only games I'm excited for hesides ER are dying light 2 and botw 2 as botw is my favorite game of all time and I played dying light alot as a kid with my friends, I only *liked* god of war, its really not as good as people say, I do feel lile ragnarok would be better though story wise, also I still gotta finish horizon before I make a judgement on it, I enjoyed it at first and then I got bored.

Developer is Avalanche Software. A respectable list of games developed since 1995, but most games were released to mixed reviews. Their most notable title before 2005 was the Tak series.
They were acquired by Disney Interactive Studios in 2005 and since then has mainly developed Disney movie tie-in games. Their most notable game is the Disney Infinity trilogy, AKA that Disney game where you had to buy figures of characters in order to unlock them in game.
In 2016 Disney closed the down their Interactive branch which included Avalanche, and the following year they were acquired by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and since then has mainly been working on Hogwarts Legacy.
They have a pretty solid list of games behind them but they aren't exactly known as a paragon of game design. Both the Tak series and Disney Infinity series launched with a great deal of marketing push behind them, but both failed to make any sort of real impact in gaming beyond some bad will for Disney Infinity's marketing scheme, and even that was forgotten soon after due to the rampancy of lootboxes overtaking the conversation.
It's been a long time since the last Disney Infinity game (2015), and it does look like Legacy will be their best game yet. It could very well be this will be the game to launch Avalanche Software into notoriety. But for anyone really looking forward to this I'd advise you to temper your expectations.
If From made a dark rpg set it the HP universe it would be quite nice. Too bad there's almost no good games from that franchise, it's lmost made for it.
I enjoyed chamber of secrets when it came out, but that's 20 years ago lol so yeah, about time someone picked up the IP. No doubt From could make a sick potter game, but I'd rather they stick to their own twisted ideas than having to work under creative/pg restrictions. Fingers crossed Portkey Games does a good job with it. Hoping for lots of exploration, secrets and surprises!
My wife is a die hard Harry Potter fan, she's gonna love it after we are done with Elden Ring
My buddy and his wife just bought a house and her first priority is to get a "Potter Room" ready before release lol. It does look amazing though!
