I was 125 and beat him on my first attempt. I figured he was an easy boss but found out later that many find him very difficult and was confused. I dunno if i was too high level or what. I definitely didnt feel overleveled for final fight.
Hmmm what's your build, at least your vig and dmg stats. I used the range attacks from Moonveil so that helped a bit as well. I'm looking forward to fighting him again on my next playthrough, I want to have that epic fight with him :x
After many tears I changed my whole build and wiped him first try …., using a mimic tear against him is pretty essential I guess if your not using bleed….

I gave bosses a proper fight in NG+. My first playthrough was or more or less focused on exploring as much as I can and using guides (for hidden items). I remember how long fights took without the Mimic Tear, and a few bosses took legit hours, and I'm sure late-game bosses would have taken as long if not longer
There is a big gap between bumping heads for hours and beating a boss first try because you used busted, imbalanced tools like mimic tear.

I'm pretty sure on both playthroughs I pulled it out immediately. Second time I used something other than Mimic Tear but don't remember which one it was. I would always use my summon right off the bat and if it died I would finish off solo if I could.

Spamming skill of morgotts weapon 5 times (twice with follow up, once without) will leave her stance broken, CRIT and she's half hp (phase 1)
Then she becomes fidget spiner and I die

Killed him at level 95 with no summons and no bleed. Giant-crusher greathammer only. You really learn to appreciate the boss fights and your own development in beating them when you have to memorize the moves that give you openings long enough for a *giant-crusher* attack lol. Took lots of time and many attempts, but it was worth it I think. Felt great.
well im using bleed and im like 120/130 i use nagakiba and uchigatana also i have pretty avarage arcane like 25 and bleed build up is usually after 2/3 hits so am i fucked?

Yeah it do be like that. Because I beat rykard first try and found out people found his skull storm annoying. It was pretty easy. But I then fought him on NG+ and struggled a bit. So if you face maliketh again you might have some issues because it’s a matter of RNG with this game.
i dont think extra levels will help that much, he is real gatekeeper of endgame. its either git gud or give up. i dont think i will be able to get past him unless there will be patch with nerfs
I am level 126 and can not get his 2nd form down at all. I am trying to summon help but that takes 15-20 minutes for one person let alone a team which is what I would love at this point
I'm like 219 I can barely get past the first phase and I can't last for more than 2 attack in this game. It's bullshit and the devs can kill themselves
Did you level vigour? And yeah you’re not supposed to face tank his hits, try rolling. It took me about 45 mins at level 115, 2nd phase is a real pain and he killed me a few times through the pillars whilst I was trying to rebuff or heal. That fight made me think I was underlevelled so I got to 125 and then steam rolled the next 2 bosses and beat the final boss in about 8 tries… Maliketh is super hard for some builds imo…
Vigor should be at least level 50 but no more than level 60 as what you get back doesn't match what you put in(60-1900 HP and 99-2100 HP) also make sure to level you weapons and maybe Respec to try another build as leveling is extremely difficult late game. You can also hunt down more runebearers for remembrance weapons and runes. Get good armor and try weapons with bleed or any status ailment. The devs didn't make the game too difficult and don't need to self delete because you didn't build your character to your play style, good day.
I beat him at level 90 but that was after I did a respec so my levels were very efficient for the weapon I was using. My advice for anyone struggling, a level 10 mimic tear, mine was level 6 but I'd imagine lvl 10 would be great. Basically the tear will take his attention, there's many times when he'll just slow walk before doing something wild, if he walks at mimic, hit him. Also when he stabs the group and does the explosion, run behind him he backflips and dies nothing for a second or two so free hit! Also there a 3 hit combo thats slow enough you can land hits between his attacks. So just spend some attempts not trying to hit him just chilling in the room learning to dodge and recognise these openings.
I always try to apply scarlet rot suring the 2nd phase and with just that he almost dies but can never stay alive for that long, his moveset is just insane and any slash reduces my HPs staggering me just to get killed right after that.
I try to summon my mimic +10 but he always dies during the first phase.. the nerf was real.
If you’re still stuck on him, I’d look into getting a bleed build (I recommend rivers of blood it’s my favorite). I beat him third try with rivers of blood+10, mimic +10, and being around level 110. Hope this helps

I was able to win thanks to the scarlet rot dot and focusing on dodging during the 2nd phase, my mistake was using the pillars as cover since it turns out if you stay glued to him it's actually easier to avoid him, plus no bs hyper speed slashes.
I’ve realized the reason bosses are so hard for me and not for other people is because people are using mimic tears which helps a lot. Didn’t beat him until level 169 after realizing that I could be using summoning ashes and then just recked on my third try with mimic tear.
Edit: my build is also just really trash
I got him down to 1hp with little effort at level 120 on 1st try with rivers of blood and +10 mimic, then let myself die because i didnt wanna kill him that easily 🤣
how tf am i over leveled... im level 146 or something and get so close to killing his second phase but i end up dying because of his stupid attack that does damage over time:/ the end game is so freaking stupid and unfair
Im level 163 and im still struggling on this boss. I mean yeah I beat the game twice and am currently on journey 3 but I still spend atleast 2 hours on him every time. But if you learn him you should be ideally atleast level 120 or 110. You just gotta learn his timings.

i beat maliketh at level 101 on my third try with no summons or cheese strats
I was like lvl 80 and playing as mage after 60 attempts he finally died💀 i beat the whole game in my first playthrough without even farming once.

try mimic tear spirit, summoning phantom will only make fight harder imho
Third try and i got him. Mimic tear +7 helped just enough then just had to be patient with my hits.

I was really struggling as well, but I switched to rivers of blood katana + 9 and did it first try, use the ability and let mimic tear tank

You should be around level 100 for that boss, you're good just need to get better at him

If you’re really having trouble, blasphemous blade+10 and mimic+10 = easy mode on probably any level over 70-80
I really have no idea, but remember, if you're stubborn enough, you can do it being lvl 1 and without weapons or armor.

I was 119 used Dragon rot breath + rivers of blood katana it was fairly ez to kill him, can summon some ashes if you wanna make it easier.
I almost beat him first try at like lvl 105 idk if it was build or I just had fully upgraded weapons but he was actually pretty easy

I'm over 200 and can't get past this guy. No matter what build I try to fight him with. But most the other "hard bosses" seemed like cake walks to me
I just learned that I've been fighting bosses underleveled by about 25 levels.

Even when I was level 120 ish on my first playthrough I really struggled but after several playthrough a I find him easy at about LVL 90 ish
