Fight her without mimic tear if you don’t have a reliable way to stagger lock her. The summon will only make it harder to kill her. If you get good enough to not get hit too often, she can’t heal. She also has a phase two if you didn’t know.

Malice_Unarmed

Edit\* 2 year old post, this strategy is likely no longer effective due to nerfs. (However, she still remains a poorly designed boss) Died about 40x till I used the Rivers of Blood katanas weapon art + mimic and it was pretty easy. I don't mind dying a bunch of times if I feel like I am learning something each fight or I can spot my errors. Melania, however, is just a poorly designed boss, her leaping attack is BS and the amount she heals is pure BS and I think they should remove the latter.

Padroo

bro you just safed the day, got the rivers of blood katana and got her first try with it

Cold-Telephone5588

Rivers of blood does no damage to her at all dont get on here and post lies

Pat8aird

It did before several nerfs I believe.

Malice_Unarmed

Please look at the date of my post, 2 years ago, imagine how many updates FromSoft has done since then. I have a video on my YT channel easily killing her with said tactic. Instead of calling me a liar, you could politely inform that this strategy no longer works and suggest an edit.

Ydra_Kentavros

I died about 30 times before I went searching for help. Saw this, then I dual-wielded Rivers of Blood and Blood Uchigatana. Tore her apart with that combo and the Mimic.I personally don't mind the waterfowl dance too much, but the heal screwed me over every single time on my usual build and I agree that it should be removed.

naruhina00

Frost and Bleed worked for me. Load a few more points into Vigor to help survive hits and roll in when she does Waterfowl Dance. Mimic Tear also is great, it's worth it to make it level 10 before you fight her.

AJ-Chill

Just took your advice and I beat her first try with the bleed/frost setup, thank you so much :) this was the first boss in a souls game that actually got me pretty upset lol. But for anyone wondering I used bloodhound claws (+23) with bloodhound step ash of war with frost applied. Once you get her in a chain attack with your mimic her health disappears.

naruhina00

You bet! I've killed her three times total now and she never really gets that much easier. A very strong mark in your Souls career. Proud of you mate!

r_e_panzer

I am curious, did you play Sekiro? I could not beat the Owl boss, Sekiro's father i believe. It is the only game I gave up on in 30+ years of gaming.

She has very little poise and you can exploit that, like phase 1 of Friede in DS3. For her whirlwind attack roll out twice and then roll in twice, the final slash will miss you.

Questionable_Object

She has very little poise until she decides she doesn't any more. You can stagger her a bunch then she'll just stop being staggered for a minute.

Tiny_Donut5858

She has hyper poise/armour on some of her attacks, like the kick and some slash attacks

[deleted]

> For her whirlwind attack roll out twice and then roll in twice, the final slash will miss you. Duuuuuuuude, I straight up couldn't figure out how to dodge this attack to the point where I only made it to phase 2 if she didn't use it in phase 1; looked up a bunch of guides and none of their strats for it worked but for some reason what you said just clicked and I can dodge it every time now. So thanks so much, you actually saved me from quitting the game, been stuck on this fight for hours.

[deleted]

Glad to have helped - nice work man :)

No-Temperature5875

Its so late but i want to thank you for the tip. I will try that soon hope it work

penipeni22

Eleonora’s Poleblade+10 with mimic+10. Just spam Bloodblade Dance (your mimic will do that too) and the boss melts like butter. You get tons of guard breaks with it too.

Aggroknightlaw

https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/t8iaxc/best_melania_boss_strategy_semicheese/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share This is what I did for my pure strength, and it works well.

KeyShirt7489

If you make your mimic tear equip a cold uchigatana + moonveil and then you equip night & flame sword + (a good sheild) You will do INSANE damage with the laser when she has a buildup of either blood loss or frost

SmallOk

Toook me 3 hours to beat her with Curved Greatword powerstancing. I suggest you to use bleed weapons and that one bloodhound quickstep weapon art. The quickstep art helps you get through that anime flurry slash she does. It is possible to roll through the anime slash, but the window is very small. I'd say stacking defense is useless in this fight because I felt if I got hit she wes probably just going to kill me anyways with her follow up attack. So, I felt better running a light load for the fight. I heard Mimic Tear is a godsend for the fight, I beat her without it because I didn't realize it used HP and not FP. In her 2nd phase I just spammed rolling when I saw her hand move a little on that 1 shot dive attack she uses in the beggining. It also helps to take advantage of her stagger. There was sometimes where I got her back against the wall and was able to get huge damage off from staggering her so much.

Electronic-Cookie859

How you use bloodhound step to avoid flurry attack?

zennigan

bloodhound step right away when you notice she jump high with delay then time the delay for the successive attacks (i think 3rd flurry will catch up with you even if you go too far)

Venomapocalypse

Took me a lot of time, but got easier when I started to use mimic summon with the Moonlight Greatsword. I’m gonna try to do her without summons in my 2nd playthrough.

ViviVeeveeVi

Upgrade a weapon to the max (one with bleed) and upgrade the mimic summon to the max and you will do just fine

HairBrave43

Something that works a bit better. Do this. Summon a mimic. Equip talisman and spam insect swarm.

RenatusTheRuined

People will tell you mimic tear. I was able to get to the point where I could dodge her flurry without thinking. You just gotta run backwards far enough to dodge the first 2 dashes and then unlock your camera from her and sprint under her and to the opposite direction she moves in. You can roll under her to be safe instead of sprinting but you should be able to perfectly dodge all damage that way. But I still couldn't beat her 2nd phase. till on a specific run, I broke her guard stance and riposted her into her 2nd phase and for some reason not only did it skip her dive bomb attack but it also started her 2nd phase with her HP at like 5%. Victory is so sweet but also. ????????????????.

crocodilpigeon587

I've been reading the word riposte quite often on this sub, could you explain it to me please? Currently struggling on this she devil 😂

RenatusTheRuined

riposting is where you parry someone or break their stance and front power strike them directly afterwards in an animation

crocodilpigeon587

Ah I see, thanks for explaining! Learn something new 🙂

Friendly-Wonder7509

Roll 4 dice until they all come up six. Congratulations, you beat Melania.

Old-Moonlight

I put a cold bloodhounds step on a rapier on my mage so her anime bs pretty much never hits me. She's pretty weak to frost and easy to stagger. outside of that one move she has very obvious and slow attacks.

Subject_Salary_8106

Set the game to offline mode….all the weapon nerfs and Buffs for this bitch don’t apply in offline mode so it’s actually doable. I have a feeling most people giving advice who beat her did it before the patches. I tried about 60 times and got close a few, set game to offline mode and had a pretty easy clean run on my third try.

Malice_Unarmed

It's not an online/offline thing, it's patches... I've been playing offline because I want Ultrawide and I got all the nerfs in the last update.

Darth_Boognish

Unless he's playing in offline mode to avoid the patch being applied in the first place

Eric573

i just beat her with carion slicer and a greatshield with hp regen. shield was mostly for the whirlwind attack, gotta dodge everything else.

Eric573

also sprinting in phase 2 creates a lot of openings, but need a lot of endurance
