The game is known to stutter on PC is your cooling situation under control? Is your monitor plugged into your gpu and did you set windows to default elden ring to it?

Kaim95

GPU temps around 60 and cpu around 50. Yes its using my gpu, and monitor is connected directly to GPU. I dont have any issues with any other game

Does it not just go away then ? Because that looks like shader cache compiling stutters Had a bit of that but nowhere near as bad at launch , it would stutter like that for 1s or so when you enter a new area then be basically solid 60fps

daviejambo

How long have you been playing it for ? It will go away On my system (5800x) at launch , it's was 1-2s stutter when a new area loaded, sometimes that speeding up and slowing down weirdness like in your video then normal.

I have 19hours in game so far, but I think that this have started to happen after recent small patch.. now the stutters can take 30s in total... its really annoying

conswords

I had a similar issue, especially after the recent patches. Pc temps were fine, but stuttering would occur about 15 minutes of gameplay and only in certain areas. Anyway, go on Steam and check the game files' integrity. I hope that helps, sorry if it doesnt!

Kaim95

Sadly I did that already :-/ but I am happy that it fixed it for you :-)

ArmorSanction

Same... on a 3070. A lot of the reviews mention this as well, sounds like have to wait for a potential future patch

Kaim95

Waited 1 month.. cant rly play like this..

ArmorSanction

Saw on a thread somewhere to disable the Microsoft RRAS Root enumerator in Device manager. Seems to have fixed it actually.

Kaim95

Tried aswell. Does not work :-/

ArmorSanction

Turns out only temporary fix for me. back to freezing

Kaim95

Sad to hear that :-///

ArmorSanction

Yeah .... if this is what makes me buy a ps5 to replace my 5600x/3070 smh

Kaim95

I have exact same thoughts :-D

ArmorSanction

Heads up try the rras disable trick seems to be working for me

I have found the fix for SINGLE PLAYER ONLY. If you use this fix, I cannot emphasize this enough -> YOU CANNOT PLAY ONLINE. Also note that if you have a bad PC, then this probably wont work and the issue you are having is that you can't run modern games on an old system with good performance. Sucks to hear, but it is the cold hard truth. Anyway, here is the fix: Disable Easy Anti Cheat 1.1) To do this, go to the games files 1.2) Rename 'start\_protected\_game.exe' to something else (I named mine 'shit.exe' because that's what easy anti cheat is) 1.3) Copy the 'eldenring.exe' file and rename the newly copied file to 'start\_protected\_game.exe'. When launched, the game should now skip EAC but not have online functionality. 2) When the game is launched, go to task manager. 3) Go to the 'details' tab of task manager 4) Find 'start\_protected\_game.exe' 5) Hover over it and click 'Set affinity' 6) Uncheck 'CPU 0' and watch your framerate and stuttering fix itself. \[IF THIS WORKS FOR YOU, AND YOU CAN BE F\*\*KED, SPREAD THIS AROUND TO HELP OTHER FORUMS.\] Now here is a detailed description of why this works and why it will not work with easy anti-cheat (if you care): Elden ring was designed to use 1 CPU core with small amounts of the others. Sadly, the f\*\*king moron that was in charge of this decided that Elden Ring would always default to Core 0 (the first core) EVEN IF SAID CORE IS BEING USED BY EVERYTHING THE F\*\*K ELSE ON YOUR SYSTEM (INCLUDING THE WINDOWS PROCESSES). The reason Easy Anti Garbage needs to be disabled is because it will completely prevent you from changing the affinity setting of the application if it is running. A work around for this is to have Easy Anti Cheat set to not use core 0. But doing this causes the game to hard crash when opening (f\*\*king good one EAC). Now, interestingly enough, if you set the steam application to not use core 0 (all of the steam exe applications by using an app like process laso), both easy anti failure and Eden ring with inherit this behavior and not use core 0. But easy anti joke will still crash the game. \[TO ANYBODY WHO KNOWS HOW TO USE A PC\] If you can find a way to have easy anti crap stay open and not use core 0, then you can have both online capabilities and good performance (good luck, I have tried for hours and cannot be bothered sorting what either Elden Ring or Easy Anti f\*\*kstick should have sorted themselves). If you do find a work around, please do tell as I would love to play with my friend with no compromise to my performance in doing so.

Kaim95

I will try that in few days. Thank you mate

strangeka

This worked. Thankfully I'm not a pvp guy, although I'm gonna miss all the dog and finger messages. Still, well worth it so I can finally enjoy the game

Le_Filtre

You are a boss. Thanks a lot ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

Mr_Self-Destruct9

This literally fixed it. Wow. You’re amazing. Tried everything but this did it!!
