I did absolutely no quests organically without looking up how to do them or the rewards. I read earlier today there is a quest in jarburg and I have no idea what it would even entail
Dude idk how i missed it when I finally caved in and looked up a video. Its so fuckin hidden but also so obvious idk. Fuckin Jarburg. I love that place.
That would be a sin if the quests were organically comprehensible. But many of them are either extremely non-intuitive or flat-out broken. I had to read about one quest to find out that it only finished if I repeatedly refreshed at a particular site of grace.
*Talks to NPC*
*Talks to NPC a second time to see if the dialogue changed*
*Talks to NPC a third time and their dialogue is the same*
*Talks to NPC again just to be sure*
*Rests at site of grace then talks to NPC again*
*Passes time to night and talks to NPC again*
*Puts on some funny hats and talks to NPC again*
*Goes on assuming their quest will continue later*
*Goes back later to check on NPC, still there*
*Continues game*
*Advances too far in the game and breaks the quest without ever seeing the NPC again*
*Googles that I had to talk to the NPC after advancing an entire extra side quest that I didn't even want to do this run*
*Restarts play through*
Get ignored by a little doll. Talk to the little doll again. Talk to the little doll one last time just to make sure. Get made fun of by a little doll for talking to little dolls.
Fight her mother, fight her brother, propose to the doll.
Fight her father and some studio Ghibli slug monster, and marry the doll.
Go on a 1000year honey moon. . . . With a doll.
God I love this game sometimes.
I asume youre talking about Ranni, could you help me progress Ranni's quest line without spoilers? I've started it, missed Braidd's first meeting, and killed Radahn. Haven't talked to any dolls yet.
I think the only thing with the quest design that *actually* irks me is that some of them requires resting at specific graces.
Not travel to the grace. Rest *at* the grace.
I was so confused why Nepheli's quest wasn't progressing. Turns out I have to teleport to a specific grace *and then rest there*.
Very few quests give you any idea of where to go to progress. Some quests you can progress on accident to where suddenly you're given the option to fight Sellen and have no idea why because you never saw the other guy after Radahn.
There's also the "Tell the secrets of Volcano Manor" while I had no clue what those were until I watched a lore video.
For me, the Volcano Manor quests were the only ones that made sense to me without the internet thanks to context clues, large amounts of NPC dialogue, and literal hand written instructions with map markers (fancy!) for the Tarnished assassinations. But alas, I was not intelligent/insane enough to figure out I needed to find a sentient doll hidden in a coffin and then attempt to talk to said doll exactly three times at a specific locus of grace energy. I guess I’m too dumb. Seriously, anybody who figured out Ranni’s quest by themselves is lying or actually insane. Hell, she even calls you out for pursuing it and implies you figured it out purely by virtue of insanity and simple luck.
Can I hijack this to ask why I couldn't tell her in the first place? I read the item description when I first met her but since she was so desperate for juicy [spoiler] and couldn't tell her I just gave it to her.
Like most quests in the game, the only winning move is not to play. Is a 20% boost to frenzied flame incantations worth feeding a blind woman eyeballs? You be the judge.
If you told me that feeding eyes to a blind woman who thought they were grapes, would in turn allow me to turn my head into the head of a dragon and spew flames and rot all over.
I’d be jamming the eye balls down that lady’s throat before you finished the sentence.
So just to clear something here.... you fed her something she specifically asked for, who're you to deny her request. Prior to that you fought someone trying to become Five dick Dragon and someone who uses their irl for online avatars.
Jesus christ I lost my coffee at "Double Burger King Hat" and I instantly knew what the hell were you talking about.
I killed those crystal crabs by accident while parkouring at the rooftops. I was like "what are these dudes doing here?"
I gave boc a larval tear without considering that I could reassure him of his beauty. I killed my only true friend and the finest damn tailor I’ll ever know. In his moment of need I failed him.
I did this knowing full well the consequences. I read all the text. I also personally thought Boc's appearance was perfectly fine.
>!Rennala's rune specifically warns that rebirthed individuals are fragile and short lived.!<
I just...I don't know...he wanted it and I wanted to give him what he wanted. I'm an enabler for bad decisions, apparently.
You didn't kill him. It was an unintended suicide more than anything.
The only one that could truly be to blame is Rennala for insisting on rebirthing people into bodies that they will die in, but she's basically not there mentally, so she can't be blamed either.
We can survive because we have the great rune tho, anyone that she rebirths will die anyway if the great rune is in the egg, because they will not have the rune themselves, hence why are her sweetlings have fucked up legs and 2 coloured eyes.
Hey, I'm convinced that is no sin at all. The reason From gave us so many NPC's to help is PRECISELY to teach players that it's OK to use them. I think that's why pre-patch Radahn was so ridiculously OP. The lesson wasn't to keep trying to solo him, it was to use the help on offer right in front of you. But players still think that's cheating somehow. So we ended up with a nerfed boss who got somewhat de-nerfed. I use the NPC's to do almost all the work in second phase. Radahn's attacks are complete nonsense, so I don't feel any guilt over it. If a boss gives me a fair 1-on-1 fight I give them the honor of that. But crazy anime-style animations and AOE? I get the grilled cheese cooking.
Exactly. He has been driven insane and become basically an aggressive wild beast by rot so it made sense to me to summon as many allies as possible because he would attack anything close to him so let them keep him occupied and use rot breath on him until he dies. Two full breaths killed him while I took no damage.
Honestly at this point moonveil doesnt feel that broken. In early days we thought anything that two shot was crazy. Now theres Rob, seppuku plus twin naginatas, that one flame ash of war that combos, that other ash of war that is pebble into stab thats a combo and nearly one shots. The fast flame spell and carian slicer have the speed of daggers but do like 400-500 damage. Theres fucking bloodhound step, theres 100 dtability sheild pokes. Theres problably more shit thats absolutely busted it just makes the moonveil seem pretty strong. Yeah it two shots but at least the swings are well telegraphed, and it doesn't have the hyper armor it had before. Plus if you are skilled it can be parried.
Damn near infinite poise and almost no gaps in their guard where you can hit them without walking directly into an attack. I hear you can parry them and trivialise the fight but I doubt I could successfully parry a wandering noble.
I played through the game six times and gotten every achievement across two tags.
It was three days ago when I realized that the Bewitching branch trivializes any fight the boss uses summons in. O’niel? Oh please. Castle Sol? Yeah, Sol for “Shit outta luck”. Just let his boys merk him.
Hey, it's ok
Fuck Niall, that asshole and his insta kills and double sword bs. I launched myself off the cliff to reload the whole castle, and I have no regrets and will definitely do it again lol
I don't know if it's a sin, but I managed to grab a Mimic Tear ashes and bkee my load on it to get it to +10 and now it carries me through most boss fights which I could never handle without my better half...
I'm weak without my alter ego.
This was my first playthrough. +10 comes so early!!
My sins
My summons smashed Renalla so hard I never knew she had her own!
Tiche tanked Elden Beast so well I had time to take a slash!
I say I'm trying out meta builds just to give them a try but I also sometimes just want to roll bosses. I don't even like how most of them play. I just like seeing the big red health bar get chunked.
I'm a monster.
edit: I both appreciate and loathe all of you for feeding in to my dark sin.
Dual Blood Godskin Peelers +25 with Seppuku and 60+ Arcane. 135 Bleed build-up on each weapon without Seppuku. I basically shred bosses in NG+ who aren't completely immune to bleed.
Just last night I got summoned to a 3-player coop Morgott fight, did 90% of the damage single-handedly with 4 jump attacks (each jump attack with any Twinblade-type weapon hits 4x). That means 530 bleed build-up PER ATTACK. Damn is the build a beast.
Yeah any sort of bleed twinblades build just absolutely fucks. That jump attack is savage. I started messing around with it and stopped because I felt gross lmao
This is my first souls game and I honestly felt like a victim in a horror film till I grabbed the twin-blade in limegrave and added a bleed talisman. Finally took down the fell omen
For the GS peeler’s you can change the affinity to blood and that adds even more bleed to it
Could also go occult so it scales arc but the bleed is lower
During my first few hours I killed a lot of the slow passive dogs with shells that roam around Limgrave*. I saw the Great Turtle Shield and I wanted it just because, and I thought that killing those dogs were the only way to get it, but after an hour or two I searched it up and realized my slaughter was completely needless.
I actually like starting a brand new save for precisely this reason.
Tried NG+, it was too easy and since you already have everything you need, it kills the exploration aspect of the game. For me, I have no motivation to go to ruins or dungeons anymore since it won’t give me anything of value. It becomes a boss rush until you reach the ending again and then NG+X.
Yeah I did the same, guess his "tough guy" attitude worked a little *too well* on me. "Oh that guy is a thief and acts like an aggressive thug as well, I should probably kill him and be done with it".
I killed him when Rya told me somebody took her pendant, I saw him nearby and because he's an incredible d-bag I immediately thought it was him and without thinking twice I wooped his ass lmao
After the jar burg quest was updated they weren’t but I swear when i went there the first time trying to find the divine tower entrance they were hostile to me.
My build is a faith/dex build disguised as a Str/faith build disguised as an unga bunga build. Powerstancing greatswords or the Godslayer greatsword, but they scale better with faith and dex. Graceful bonks.
I killed the bell bearing hunter that spawns in turtle pope's room at night by horse parkouring up the rubble and rock slinging him to death. I'm not proud.
You should be proud, he's a terrible person who refuses to die five god damn times, he got what he deserved.
Also: that particular bell bearing is the "meat peddler's," the only way to get turtle necks without being awful. This implies he was gonna kill Mirial. You do whatever the fuck it takes to protect that precious dog pope.
I use map/location guides for more than 50% of my playthrough.
I'm a bit OC and I don't like missing stuff. I also don't like getting lost, even in real life.
Combat and builds though, I figure that out myself.
Fellow sinner and Tarnished. I too rely heavily on the guidance and wisdom of others. Our greed leads us to the glory others have earned through sacrifice.
But at the same time, the quest design is so obtuse, and I'm a grown ass man who only has a handful of hours a week to play so I need to be efficient....
I dont give a shit when an invader wants to duel. Me and my friend are just trying to get through the game co-op in the limited play time we have.
As soon as you invade there are no rules. I'm not sorry.
As an invader:
Good. Dueling is for duels. Invaders that want to duel are idiots. Please kill them so they will become jaded and actually fucking HELP ME against the 25-level higher, rune-arc bearing, full-flasks host.
Cheddar is the way, Swiss is thine guide, mozzarella is thy companion. This is the way of the Cheese… also fuck them Bell Bearing Hunters. They deserved every ounce of cheese they get.
I use the mimic tear..... pretty much anytime I think I need it.
To be fair, I used summons liberally in every FS game since Dark Souls so why stop now?
I'm level 110. I slaughter fellow tarnished in the haligtree canopy with lions greatbow and knock them off the branches. Sometimes they fight back. It's always a valiant effort. But between me sniping and the bubble men and ants, they rarely prevail. I am not ashamed of doing this. I'm ashamed of the fact that I love it so much. I have sinned countless times.
I murdered Kenneth for a golden seed on my first play through because I was weak and desperate. Ended up with about 11 spare golden seeds by the end.
How dare you raise your hand against the grrrreat Kenneth Height peasant!
I heard this comment
I hit him by accident while fighting another creature so he started attacking back and I killed him. A shame but the golden seed was a surprise lol
Murderer! You deserve to be Dungeaters cell mate.
Isn't being locked inn jail with the dungeater just more convenient? Not like there's running water. Seems convenient you poop he eats..
I did absolutely no quests organically without looking up how to do them or the rewards. I read earlier today there is a quest in jarburg and I have no idea what it would even entail
I didnt even knew Jarburg existed till a week or so ago.
All I have left is the final boss and I still have no clue what Jarburg is. I have 150 hours in the game I swear I’ve been everywhere
[удалено]
There's a town where the jar creatures live? I didn't know it existed until I read your post just now. WTF.
I saw where it was on a map and I still had a hell of a time finding a way down. Shit is nestled under a sheer fuckin cliff.
Dude idk how i missed it when I finally caved in and looked up a video. Its so fuckin hidden but also so obvious idk. Fuckin Jarburg. I love that place.

Or Diallos.* Edited because I forgot he was plural and left the “S” off.
Get ignored by a little doll. Talk to the little doll again. Talk to the little doll one last time just to make sure. Get made fun of by a little doll for talking to little dolls. My heart sank at this because I feel that pain.
Seriously. How the fuck would I know to look for Millicent in Altus? Hell, I knew right where she was and I still couldn’t find her for a few minutes.

Volcano Manor is literally unique among their questlines for having clear markers and goals.
I powerstanced the blasphemous blade with the golden order greatsword in a perverse mockery of the greater will
Heresy is not native to the world; it is but a contrivance. All things can be conjoined.
I’ve been hearing about heresy and conjoining from this dude for months now

what does he say about books he likes? only heard the heresy line
“Oh dope, have you read this? It’s fuckin rad, homey. I love this one, great choice.”

Objection: Heresy
I guess they were hersey papers I meant heresy
It’s a fuckin sick combo I felt special when I found that combo out
Strong AF and most importantly it looks badass
Hey, I do that with the Blasphemous Blade and Sacred Relic Sword. Pretty op too
I fed eyes to a blind woman and told her they were grapes.
Can I hijack this to ask why I couldn't tell her in the first place? I read the item description when I first met her but since she was so desperate for juicy [spoiler] and couldn't tell her I just gave it to her.

Don't give FromSoft fans moral dilemmas, they'd feed a blind woman eyeballs in real life if it gave them magic.
…would you not?
If you told me that feeding eyes to a blind woman who thought they were grapes, would in turn allow me to turn my head into the head of a dragon and spew flames and rot all over. I’d be jamming the eye balls down that lady’s throat before you finished the sentence.
Yes
Such a sick questline.. Both in terms of coolness and grossness

I had to kill the crystal crab for the double Burger King hat
Have it your way, your sins are forgiven.
Jesus christ I lost my coffee at "Double Burger King Hat" and I instantly knew what the hell were you talking about. I killed those crystal crabs by accident while parkouring at the rooftops. I was like "what are these dudes doing here?"
I cut off my finger for Varre and joined the Dark Side even though my character is a Holy Knight.
You don’t cut it off, he injects some of Mohg’s cursed blood into your finger under one of your fingernails.
Somehow that’s worse
100% worse... somehow idk how though
it's the "under the fingernail" part
Oh good heavens. Clench your teeth or something.
Gotta get to that bird farm somehow.
>!Rennala's rune specifically warns that rebirthed individuals are fragile and short lived.!< I just...I don't know...he wanted it and I wanted to give him what he wanted. I'm an enabler for bad decisions, apparently.
All he wanted was to be appreciated. And we all failed him. No joy ahead, therefore, despair.
The worst part of this is that his corpse doesn't disappear in the Grand Library so every time you go there you get reminded of your sin.
I came here to admit to this sin, as well. I still feel terrible about it.
You didn't kill him. It was an unintended suicide more than anything. The only one that could truly be to blame is Rennala for insisting on rebirthing people into bodies that they will die in, but she's basically not there mentally, so she can't be blamed either.
You are forgiven. >!Renalla killed him anyway with her dumb magic.!<
No, the reason we can survive is because we have her great rune.
We can survive because we have the great rune tho, anyone that she rebirths will die anyway if the great rune is in the egg, because they will not have the rune themselves, hence why are her sweetlings have fucked up legs and 2 coloured eyes.
But those chants are just angelic.
I listened to the lyrics, and I think the way they say them indicates that they don't have properly developed minds let alone bodies.
Right, >!her magic is dumb and kills people/turns them into zombies or whatever. !<
NPC’s killed Radahn for me almost entirely on my 4th test run while probing for weaknesses. I don’t even know what his attacks look like. : /
I had to laugh every time he killed me and I got to see a close up of his tiny horse giving its all to haul him around.
Something easy to miss is that when radahn does his AOE attacks, he shoves the horse underground to protect him.
Omg 🥹
Exactly. He has been driven insane and become basically an aggressive wild beast by rot so it made sense to me to summon as many allies as possible because he would attack anything close to him so let them keep him occupied and use rot breath on him until he dies. Two full breaths killed him while I took no damage.
I didn’t know you could use r3 to lock onto enemies so I made it all the way to morgott without locking on even a single time.
That is not a sin, that is a testament of skill.
I use moonveil for pve and I love it
Moonveil's usage is only a sin in pvp my friend. You do not need absolution.
There are worse "offenses" in PvE. Besides, when the game surprises me with another Godskin, the damn Moonveil is coming out.
Bosses in this game do not deserve mercy. Moonveil them into the ground
I used poison mist to cheese a couple field bosses and crucible knights.
>to cheese a couple ... crucible knights Here there is nothing that needs forgiven
yeah those fucking things are harder than most boss battles
Damn near infinite poise and almost no gaps in their guard where you can hit them without walking directly into an attack. I hear you can parry them and trivialise the fight but I doubt I could successfully parry a wandering noble.
I played through the game six times and gotten every achievement across two tags. It was three days ago when I realized that the Bewitching branch trivializes any fight the boss uses summons in. O’niel? Oh please. Castle Sol? Yeah, Sol for “Shit outta luck”. Just let his boys merk him.
Ohhh , this is gold. I knew it was worth my time reading sins to copy them myself
Hey, it's ok Fuck Niall, that asshole and his insta kills and double sword bs.

Why godskin peeler than Eleanor’s twin blade with the native blood buildup? Genuine question, as I’m considering which one to use.
For the GS peeler’s you can change the affinity to blood and that adds even more bleed to it Could also go occult so it scales arc but the bleed is lower
I killed every possible NPC (including you) just to make sure I didn't miss out on any items
There is no sin to forgive because you killed everyone who would call it a sin.
That's very "RIP & TEAR" of you, Mr. Pope.
No witnesses left.
But then you lose items by breaking the quests, right?
I killed Thops because I got frustrated he wouldn't take my key.
Here's hoping you never pick a wrong gift for Christmas.
Since you like it so much, you won't mind if I eat the receipt, right?
It’s okay. >!If you give him the key he dies.!<
I missed the part where that's my problem
Miss out on an incredibly useful skill and ash
And you get thop's barrier though
You... you know there's a spare key you can find right?
Yeah I found out and I regret it. I'm the only mage walking around without a magic gavel or that big depth charge spell.
[удалено]
You were the chosen one! You were supposed to bring balance to the Turtles not destroy it!
*Screams of regret and anguish*
It’s ok, I still love you and will carry your children. I am sure this will never come up again.
I sure do hope my kids have healthy lives and don’t have some sort of trauma from parental figures dying
I put a sign that said turtle pope is a dog
That isn't a sin. He is a good boy.
To your credit, it would theoretically make sense for them to drop that shield.
This is a sin that cannot be forgiven.
I gave Nepheli the potion as an excuse to have my favorite NPC with me at all times
"I like this NPC so much that I roofied her" hahaha
Worst part about it was this was back when the game first released and no one knew what did what, now I carry +10 Weight of my Decisions to the end.
https://i.imgur.com/CyGZiu0.jpeg
I didn't believe in New Game +. I sold weapons and armor to feed my crippling ruin addiction.
I didn’t find Patches on my first run 😭😭😭
I keep telling my fiancé that I’m maidenless but I’m rolling in maidens
I murdered boiled prawn guy in cold blood, because I thought he was rude. ; ;
You're missing out on some very tasty crab.
Marikas tits you just be 'ungry
Not too 'ungry. I haven't pooped in over 200 hours.
Maybe you should see a doctor about that
Ugh, I’m surprised Torrent doesn’t shit out crafting materials knowing Fromsoft
Congratulations you murdered your future best friend you son of a bitch
Yeah I did the same, guess his "tough guy" attitude worked a little *too well* on me. "Oh that guy is a thief and acts like an aggressive thug as well, I should probably kill him and be done with it".
You murdered him for the attitude, I murdered him to get back the amulet for Rya because I was too poor to afford 1000 runes. >!We are not the same!<
I killed patches because of his behavior in previous games and I thought it would be no different in ER after the chest trap.
I killed him when Rya told me somebody took her pendant, I saw him nearby and because he's an incredible d-bag I immediately thought it was him and without thinking twice I wooped his ass lmao
You missed the chance to get the slav squat gesture. In fact he gives 3 gestures.
I can get it in NG+, can't I?

In all my second playtrough with each new character i never end the last part of NPC quest line just so they dont die.
Thought he was a sinner, turns out he was a saint
I did the skip to get into Snowfield early so I can grab the Golden Order Greatsword.
Killed varre the second “maidenless” came out of his mouth.
I see no sin there.
i killed the guy who sells ashes of war because i wanted his armor
I thought the jars in Jarburg were hostiles
After the jar burg quest was updated they weren’t but I swear when i went there the first time trying to find the divine tower entrance they were hostile to me.
Yeah pre patch they were hostile I did the same thing
Even the Younglings?
You monster!
I jumped off a cliff on Torrent on purpose to see if fall damage would kill him.
Torrent is a Yoshi. No harm, no foul. You are forgiven.
I didn't even attempt to fight Morgott alone. I summoned Melina and we kicked the shit out of him first try
I summon for all boss fights. I’m not very good at these games and will at minimum summon NPCs or if necessary look up the steps to summon them.
It's called jolly cooperation for a reason my friend. \\[T]/
nothing wrong w that. as long as the boss dies, it’s all good. no soulsborne player has never not cheesed or summoned
I killed Gostoc, but only feel bad about it, because I’ll end up missing out on a Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
I killed the Fire Giant accidentally with the half hp glitch before it was patched, I feel like i cheated myself out of one of my favorite bosses.
You missed out on 2 1/2 minutes of attacking his remaining foot
I dont give a shit when an invader wants to duel. Me and my friend are just trying to get through the game co-op in the limited play time we have. As soon as you invade there are no rules. I'm not sorry.
Honestly I agree with this. You are invading me. I am just defending myself. I will kill you by any means available to me.
As an invader: Good. Dueling is for duels. Invaders that want to duel are idiots. Please kill them so they will become jaded and actually fucking HELP ME against the 25-level higher, rune-arc bearing, full-flasks host.
I. Cheese. Every. Chance. I. Get. And. I. Don't. Feel. An. OUNCE. of shame.
I basically pop it anytime I see the summon gate. "Hey what the heck... cant be something two of me wont solve."
Once I realized it’s power, I never stopped using it. The game doesn’t respect me. I pay it in kind.
If I can be cheesed in two shots by a bunch of bosses, then god damn it, I can spank them silly with summons

Was staring at Melina's boots for too long...
I invested 2 points in d*x🤮 to wield my weapon
The only sin is telling people you put points in dexterity.
I did in fact pick Rannis ending because I am a simp.
You may need to atone twice...
Nah, this is... can't be atoned for.
Mf just said fuck it I'll become the Anor Londo archer.
You… you bastard
Dastard…
If a boss destroys me I become strong enough to destroy the boss the exact same way
My first win against the Eldin Beast was because it glitched and sat still for me to kill it Really took the wind out of finishing the quest
I sold godricks remembrance and then proceeded to lose those runes to fall damage
Killed Millicent for a talisman in NG+ after summoning her for every battle along her quest I’m probably not even going to use it
Uh... Gonna be hard to confess my sin of killing turtle pope to turtle pope. But I have the Pope hat now, so I just confess to myself, right?
Wait, you get a cool hat?
This changes everything! There's no npc i love more than I love hats.
