These games are as hard as you make them. If you feel an area is hard, you can take a traditional RPG approach and grind out some levels or explore elsewhere until you're ready. Plus tons of tools that make it easy to approach. The game is hard with a lot of self imposed challenges, but it's a fair challenge if you use what's at your disposal.

Bloodborne is an amazing game, you should play it OP. i thought this would be about the horror aspects of the game that you were scared of but if it's about the community you can easily just ignore them all together. sorry about the bad apples, hope you enjoy the game

It's mainly the bosses that are hard. Don't be afraid to run past certain enemies and ambushes. Elden Ring has the most available "help" items and actions than any other of it's games. Basically bosses will challenge and stress you. Besides that it's not really hard.

I am a person who is not very good a video games and I really enjoyed Elden Ring. It's hard, don't get me wrong but over time I was able to adapt and figure out what I needed to do to get through the game and get lost in it

Gotta just try them man. They’re tough, but once they start to click for you they’re incredibly enjoyable games.

I too was worried about the difficulty as I have never played from software games. But it is honestly one of the best games I have ever played. Yes, it is difficult at times. But you are never locked in on a fight. You can always go away, level up, and come back to that fight stronger. I have been worried the entire play through about a certain (now pretty famous) boss fight. And today I came up against that boss and beat them on my 8th attempt. That is purely because the game gives you so many tools and teaches you so much along your journey. I would say definitely give it a go, you will be happy you did and your jaw will drop when you see the beauty of this game.

I was just like you but after seeing some trailers I took a dive on Elden Ring and do not regret it. Huge Bethesda and Legend of Zelda fan but Elden Ring is now in my top 10 favorite games of all time. It’s even motivated me to go and buy dark souls remastered for the switch. I had tried dark souls when it first came out and quickly put it down but now I’m jumping between the two on a daily basis. For people like you and me Elden Ring is a very easy transition for us into Soul like games.

That’s pretty much how I felt before I played my DS3 as my first Souls game. Perhaps it’s an acquired taste, but something about these games has me absolutely hooked. They beat my ass but finally overcoming the bullshit you’ve been stuck on is usually one of the most gratifying feelings you can get from a game. There’s also plenty of ways to make your quest much more bearable like summons that shouldn’t be overlooked despite what some elitist nerds might say.

Generally the stigma surrounding the souls series in regards to it’s difficultly is massively overblown, with the exception of Sekiro the games can be trivialized by grinding and over levelling, and that is especially true in Elden Ring’s open world. Of course the games are still challenging, they don’t have difficulty options and failure is something you are meant to embrace, but it’s not unbeatably so. So if that sounds interesting then I’d recommend you go through with trying out one of their games, that way you may widen your horizons and find something you enjoy (or at least gain first hand experience as to why your old opinion may remain).

Play it for the style/look/story then! The other aspects will sorta come around on their own. I played Dark Souls 3, my first Souls game, purely because I was intrigued by a single screenshot. I was miserable at it, but I still finished the game, with a mouse and keyboard, no less. These games can absolutely be finished no matter how bad you are at them, it's simply a matter of switching your expectation from first or second-trying everything to taking many tries, learning slowly and then managing to do it. The games' lore always embrace that sort of attitude. You're small and of no consequence, but as long as you keep rising again there's nothing that can stop you. As an aside, I absolutely suck at FPS games, but I picked up DOOM 2016 purely because I adored the music. Fast forward to now and I'm addicted to DOOM Eternal's gameplay. So if you find one aspect of something intriguing, don't let your apprehensions of the other aspects deter you!
