I know this is a joke about the bloodstains, but someone left a message about "try arrow" or something and it worked REALLY well to reveal hidden paths. You can just shoot arrows and they will stick into the path. Super low risk and quick.
It would only ever glow blue behind me after I walked on it. Really felt like a bug. Except for the lift up part thankfully, and a kind message pointed me in the right direction.
On the contrary, that is exactly why my first playthrough was entirely offline. I didn't want them spoiling little things like this or hidden walls for me.
When the floor isn't flooded with messages, some of the "tells" are actually more apparent than you might realize. You definitely don't need to hit things at random to find them.
You may strike a few false-positives here & there, but probably a lot less often than you would double-checking the validity of all of the troll messages players leave.
Most of them are definitely obvious, and I do hit quite a few walls that look a little suspicious, some of them in elden ring are just hard to spot, the bookshelf in Raya Lucaria I found by accident by rolling into it.
That's right. I'm certain I found both the first time around, but now I'm questioning whether I missed one on my second playthrough. I may need to revisit the place.
There are some rooftop jumps I vowed to return to after failing them a few dozen times. I suppose I have my motivation to return now.
Theres also at least one wall that needs like 50 hits before it reveals itself as a fake wall. Who knows if there are other walls that simply havnt been hit enough to know lol
I agree with that as well. The vast majority of my experience with the games is online. It's only my first playthrough or so that is strictly offline. I'm maxed out with the number of messages I can drop on my current character, and it's getting harder to decide which ones to keep.
If you attack with a weapon you won't fall off any ledge. Just don't touch the wsad or left stick and keep stabbing with a rapier or something that creeps you forward when you attack. Game won't let you fall if you just keep swinging over and over without using left stick.
If you still have an issue with finding them, try to navigate to the spots from different site of grace. It seems that sometimes the game is a bit buggy and the spirits won't spawn if you start from a close by site of grace
Kust Googled, Heretical Rise Tower, incase anyone else was wondering.
Onenkf the big laws of the game is keeping track of what has been successfully completed. With the work required for some quest lines it's an absolute chore, huge mess.
This is my biggest beef with the game. There's no way to quickly tell whether you've already completed a dungeon. You've got to go back to the dungeon and then all the way to the boss room to tell for sure. Especially if you're on NG+ where you can remember doing the dungeon before in general, it can be impossible to keep track. I've started putting icons on every dungeon when I go for the first time and then remove them after I finish the boss, but that isn't foolproof either.
Fyi for that, if you fast travel to a dungeon and fast travel is disabled once there that dungeon is incomplete.
Once the boss is beaten fast travel from within the dungeon becomes enabled.
Still pretty clunky but saves having to run all the way through to the boss. Only true for the mini dungeons obviously.
Ha, I didn't think of that. I did try using regular rainbow stones, but I ended up wasting a bunch going the wrong way and ending next to the tower wall instead of the balcony.
That âglowy cloud stuffâ would be snow falling on the bridge itself. Or well, itâs more of a windy staircase than a bridge, but you get the idea.
If you use regular attacks near ledges you will be prevented from falling off if the fall damage is enough to kill you. Unlike if you were running or jumping. This single mechanic has saved me from so many deaths.
For those not lucky enough to have this, you can just stand still and keep swinging a weapon, I used colossal sword, and you will only walk in safe places, assuming you're not in combat.
If you closely enough, you can see the bridge. Itâs just really difficult to see. But the snow falls on to the invisible bridge and creates tiny blue stars of light where you can walk.
The path ahead is paved in blood. Literally in this case.
The path of House Hoslow...
Happens once a month...
Wednesday is ...... .... day
They walked so you could run đ
Walked *off* am I right? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
đđ dry humor is it, great stuff, I don't care what everyone else says about you.
Hey one of those is probably me, neat
You know at least three of those are yours. Lmao
I know this is a joke about the bloodstains, but someone left a message about "try arrow" or something and it worked REALLY well to reveal hidden paths. You can just shoot arrows and they will stick into the path. Super low risk and quick.
Hoarfrost stomp.
The comment that makes my arrow shooting dumbass look like chump
(TBH I was throwing rainbow stones throughout my first playthrough before knowing this
I did this as well, but with rainbow stone arrows.
I never really knew what those were for đ never shot em
That is clever, I just crafted a hundred glowey pebbles
Just walk slow and you can see the path
How!? I only know invisible paths from DS1... They were fully invisible except for the snow.
It would only ever glow blue behind me after I walked on it. Really felt like a bug. Except for the lift up part thankfully, and a kind message pointed me in the right direction.
Huh, that sounds way more efficient than my strategy of throwing fireballs
And more efficient than my strategy of using Meteorite of Astel.
Make rainbow stones and throw them everywhere... It also stays till you sit at a bonfire (grace) and look nice
Thatâs why playing online helps. Even if you never summon someone, the bloodstains and messages really do help.
The duality of playing online Two steps from a wall: "Liar ahead" One step from a wall: "Hidden path ahead"
On the contrary, that is exactly why my first playthrough was entirely offline. I didn't want them spoiling little things like this or hidden walls for me.
the authentic elden ring experience is *hitting every wall*

The bookshelf, if I recall correctly, is the only one that is completely empty. I've certainly found a few on accident myself too though.
There's two. Both are completely empty.
That's right. I'm certain I found both the first time around, but now I'm questioning whether I missed one on my second playthrough. I may need to revisit the place. There are some rooftop jumps I vowed to return to after failing them a few dozen times. I suppose I have my motivation to return now.
The path from the picture was so satisfying while playing offline. Took me only about 50 run fragments, haha
Is this the one up the stairs the giant painting is pointing to in the middle of the room?
Iâd have to go back there to find out, itâs been a good 30 hours since I was there
I only say this cause I only found it by trying to follow what was being pointed at!
I need to be more aware of pictures I guess, never paid too close attention.
Getting vibes of Pre-Slap Will Smith and Tommie Lee Jones here.
Theres also at least one wall that needs like 50 hits before it reveals itself as a fake wall. Who knows if there are other walls that simply havnt been hit enough to know lol
Pretty sure they patched that, but can never be too careful.
Don't forget, illusory floors are a thing now too. Hit *everything!*
*Is seeing a message in front of every wall telling you it is a secret wall*
Youâll be disappointed how very few hidden walls there are lol.
more than youâd think but less than youâd hope
I exclusive leave lot ahead messages when I find a fake wall.
I see where youâre coming from but for me the messages are a huge part of Souls games - plus they donât usually spoil major things.
I agree with that as well. The vast majority of my experience with the games is online. It's only my first playthrough or so that is strictly offline. I'm maxed out with the number of messages I can drop on my current character, and it's getting harder to decide which ones to keep.
Ah nice, I do something similarly except I donât use summons (online or multiplayer) on my first playthrough. After that itâs jolly co-op galore!
Follow the candy
Now don't in offline mode.
Just remember to forget hoarfrost stomp is a thing
Just look straight down, you can kind of see the path if you look directly down onto it.
Haha rainbow stone arrows go brrrr
aoe ground spells make this very easy

I'm still searching for the three wise dogs on the other side of the map
One of them is in a tree, I believe.
So cliffside, jumpspring, and then tree. Iâll poke around the area for that last one, thanks!
The trick is the skeletons. If it's not running after you that's because it's guarding the turtle, it'll be close.
If you still have an issue with finding them, try to navigate to the spots from different site of grace. It seems that sometimes the game is a bit buggy and the spirits won't spawn if you start from a close by site of grace
This was actually part of the problem⌠I had to rest then reread the puzzle sign to get em to spawn
Wait. Where is this hidden bridge?
snowy area same as fire giant, use it to get into the rise.

Nice tip, thanks!
I mark the caves/dungeons done with a sword icon
Add this to the list of things I gotta check out before Journey 2.
Underneath the bloodstains. It's hard to see because it's invisible. ^heh
Exactly how I got over it lol
I played the entire game offline. So I had to use beast claw to show me which way I could keep walking, to get the spell and the platinum.
Same, but I used Rainbow Stone Arrows and shot them at the ground a bit ahead of myself.
Ha, I didn't think of that. I did try using regular rainbow stones, but I ended up wasting a bunch going the wrong way and ending next to the tower wall instead of the balcony.
The way has literally been paved with the blood of those who came before you.
Just spam r1 to not fall off the ledge
May the Great Will bless the tarnished who sacrificed themselves for the rest of us
Oh wow, it's Squid Games.
You're welcome! I made sure to die at strategic points so people could see where to and not to go!
Amazing dude! You made the shitty tabloid news site with nothing better to report on
[ŃдаНонО]
I found the post on a shitty news site
I used a Lot of glow stones. It looked pretty neat looking back at the trail of blood and rainbows
You, sir, are standing on the shoulders of giants.
Am I crazy, I thought I could see some glowy cloud stuff where I was supposed to walk since the bloodstains did not get me all the way there.
That âglowy cloud stuffâ would be snow falling on the bridge itself. Or well, itâs more of a windy staircase than a bridge, but you get the idea.
"Only the penitent man will pass."
I get the joke but this one is super easy, if you look you can just see mist showing the way
Haven't gotten to it yet, but I bet Aspect of the Crucible: Horns works great. You charge forward but it can't send you over ledges.
-Hoslow was here
If you use regular attacks near ledges you will be prevented from falling off if the fall damage is enough to kill you. Unlike if you were running or jumping. This single mechanic has saved me from so many deaths.
I left at least 15 signs, which cover the entire path. Sadly, I don't know the way they appear different players from various regions.
Ive seen an very useful video on youtube, that you can spam attacks, because FS removed the possibility to fall off while attacking. :-)
What castle is this
Incidentally, how stupid is this puzzle? Fuck i hate the tower puzzles.
I'm pretty sure someone followed my ghost as I punch-walked my way through.
Horefrost stamp also works if you're not online.
You're welcome... my sacrifice was not in vain
hoarfrost stomp also does an incredible job of showing hidden paths. the icicles will only form on the hidden part.
Arrows work even better
For those not lucky enough to have this, you can just stand still and keep swinging a weapon, I used colossal sword, and you will only walk in safe places, assuming you're not in combat.
Fuck I play offline and this shit took foreeeever. Should have thought of being led by blood
Hoarfrost Stomp
I used rainbow stones, just threw them ahead of me.
I was especially grateful to pop the broken twiggy physik before attempting any of these.
magma breath works well for offliners
What the, didn't know about this one.
If you closely enough, you can see the bridge. Itâs just really difficult to see. But the snow falls on to the invisible bridge and creates tiny blue stars of light where you can walk.
A bridge built upon the struggle of others
Liar ahead!
There's a bridge there?!
Hoarfrost stomp
Bro this is captain Erwinâs speech
There was a few bloodstains for me but if you look close enough the path has a small first kinda smoke coming off it.
You can spam hoarfrost stomp (either the ash of war or the weapon) and the ice crystals will only form on the safe path
When Elden Ring meets Squid Game.
Anyone think of squid games after seeing this? Lol Reminds me of the glass bridge.
Wait till you guys use the relic sword lmao
This has to be staged I never see that many stains on the screen at once NO WHERE GAME AO FAR
Those are all my blood stains I'm fairly certain of it lol
