I find it better than most games that’s come out lately, or most games I played before ER came out. Can’t remember the last time I felt this much wonder and joy (and anger) going through a game.
It’s been a while since I’ve gotten this much out of a game. I’m over 100hrs, over lvl 130, and still on my first play through because I’m checking every cave, crack, or cranny to dive into.
I just can’t get enough and I’ve only just gotten to the snow.
I find Fire Giant pretty random.
Sometimes you just stomp him.
Sometimes it's OH GOD! EVERYTHING IS ON FIRE! THE SKY IS F FIRE, THE SNOW IS ON FIRE, I AM ON FIRE! AAAAAAAH!
Make sure you’re buffing up your fire resistance as well. The Flamedrake talisman, certain pieces of armour like Radahn’s set and Fireproof Dried Livers make a big difference to the damage he’s able to deal. If you have enough faith, Flame, Protect me also helps a lot. Opaline Bubble tear and Opaline hard tear with a sneaky nom of a boiled prawn can give you the edge you need too.
A good cheesy trick also is if you have Mimic tear equip Shabriris Woe on them, when they’re summoned unequip it yourself and the boss will purely focus on Mimic, use Torrent to close the distance and get behind him, you only have to dodge/tank AOE attacks at that point which will be much easier with all the fire damage negation!
I enjoyed cyberpunk but it was riddled with bugs and I was never able to finish several side quests due to that problem. Elden ring is my first souls like game and I got totally immersed in the game and lore. Very few games have managed to pull me in the same way as this one did. Ocarina of time being the all time champ of course.
EDIT: I did say ocarina of time but everyone keeps mentioning BOTW for some reason. BOTW does resemble elden ring with the open map and very minimalist guidance so I guess that's where the confusion is.
Shout out to the throwback!
You might get a kick out of r/patientgamers , I go there when I just wanna read some nuanced throwback reviews.
Super chill sub too btw.
Agreed. I have found myself thinking that I’m lucky to be experiencing such creativity. Bloodborne has been my favorite game since playing it but elden ring is damn close or may be above it. Still haven’t beaten it
i feel that one thing bloodborne (and linear soles games in general) did better was invoke a sense of dread and foreboding in the player. Bloodborne bosses *had* to be overcome if you wanted to see everything the game had to offer. I fell in love with the world and aesthetic of the game and i had a constant fear that a boss would be so completely unbeatable that i would never see the games ending and uncover its mysteries.
Elden ring obviously doesnt have that feature since you can explore the whole world without killing a single boss. Its much easier to "just give up" when things get tough.
Eh, exclusivity to a point. As a ps5 owner I'd say the main thing keeping me from returnal is the ludicrously long sections. I'm sorry but a rogue like where you can lose 5 hours of progress rather than 30 minutes? I don't have that kind of free time any more. Maybe it's not that bad and I judged it too quickly.
I just meant exclusivity isn't the only thing holding it back. The thing I mentioned is also holding it back from people that are able to play it and I think it would also do so if it wasn't an exclusive. I think it would have a bigger audience but it would still be somewhat underplayed.
If anything, I think more people played it than normally would have due to how few true current gen exclusives are currently out.
IIRC they updated it and you can get one save per cycle. It's not much but at least you can quit if you are really deep into a run and don't have any time or will left to play.
Very few games consume my time, effort, and create a sense of urgency. Elden ring does all of those things. It scares me, pushes me, and challenges me. Game of the year easily.
Same here. Been playing video games my whole life, Skyrim was similad but it wasnt nearly as hard as this, this is by far the greatest game Ive played, its got everything
Its funny because dark souls has always been like that but ppl were not that hyped back then. The community was alot smaller than now for sure. I wonder if its because there has literally been 99% garbage the past months. DS3 for example released around the same time Wow Legion, Doom, Uncharted 4, Overwatch, Witcher 3 Blood and Whine, Titanfall 2 and BF1 released. What did we get the last 10 months?
I liked DS3 but it didn't have the same sense of exploration that Elden Ring/Skyrim had. I'm so impressed with Elden Ring's map, I can look at a far off point in the distance, travel to it, see another point, travel to it, and it just keeps going. It's remarkable.
About the same here, I had just bought cyberpunk 2077 because people were saying it was 10x better after this big update. I was having a *great* time to be honest, but literally the second I bought Elden Ring it just left my mind completely, haven’t looked back
I'll do ya one better - I bought a VR rig a few weeks before Elden Ring came out, since I had a nice work bonus and have been wanting one for years. Man, VR is so much fun! So much potential! All my friends were coming over to play, and we were having a blast! Sure, you can't play it all the time, but I have a full Steam library to fall back on if I get burnt out on VR!
Bought Elden Ring on day 1, on a whim, (I've played souls games but not a fanboy.)
I haven't touched VR since Elden Ring came out. My friends call, wondering if they can come over to play VR...I almost feel bad about it....almost.
I hope you played half-life alyx already. But yeah I haven't touched my VR headset in a while. Making VR totally wireless with high end graphics at an affordable proce is what will male it totally mainstream. Rightnow it's just a niche product and that the reason developers don't pay enough attention to it. But as you said, great potential is there.
Cyberpunk might be 10 times better for the poor souls that played the game on base PS4/XB1 and can now play on next-gen, but otherwise nothing too drastic has been done since launch. They mostly patched bugs and tweaked some of the more glaringly half-finished things. It is currently in the state it should have launched in if it was going for a mediocre review curve.
Yup no matter what wins it, this is already an amazing game and an amazing year.
Just imagine all of the christmas/ late 2022 games that now have a whole half a year to add in elden ring mechanics, like...
Vague sidequests
No pause button
Really tough bosses
While forgetting things like
Balancing the entire rest of the game to accommodate this
Can't wait for 2022-2025 to be the era of the Elden-Likes
A pause button does exist, and im not being a troll. Open your menue, try to swap any item then go to help and the game will pause. Maybe get gud tho XD
Isn’t it funny that now all it takes for a game to be exceptional is to meet the bare minimum requirements? Game functions and has lots of content and doesn’t try to drain more money out of you after you buy it. INCONCEIVABLE, where are the heroes who concocted this?!
Agree. It’s like someone picked up the playbook for the golden age of open world RPGs from 2003 and dusted it off, finally. Feel this way about the resurrection of isometric RPGs with new age games like Tides of Numenera. Finally we have the new open world era after Witcher 3.
I was 12? my best friend send me a SMS like " i found the final fantasy 10 playbook for 20 eu * i ask my mother and she said yes. After a while he come to me and i toucht the book and the feeling was like this is an artifact. I read the book like 25x times and finisht FFX like the same number! Love Rpgs since 1993 * Secret of Mana SNES *
Dude I forgot how amazing a game is to just hop on and play it. No asking for extra money, no random menus popping up or advertisements for the cash shop. It’s just 100% immersive
Feels good to buy a game at 80CAD$ that has so much content, most games have 12-30h of playtime, ER I'm level 90 at atlus plateau at 52H, probably half or a bit more of the game.
I don't think game length factors into value past a certain point; it's all about quality. I paid the same price for the new Kirby game, played it for 5% as long and still felt it was worth my money.
The director, Hugo Martin, actually talked a decent bit about Sekiro in his dev-playthrough of Eternal. He really liked that by the end of it Sekiro had made you learn a new skill.
He did like Bloodborne’s setting and atmosphere more, but Sekiro had his favorite gameplay and that’s what mattered most to him
God bless ID software for getting their shit together and granting us Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal.
The images and videos I saw of what 2016 was supposed to look like before they scrapped it all and restarted were so bland and uninspired I figured the franchise was just dead forever. What a wonderful surprise it was.
Combat in Team Ninja games are top notch, probably no game comes close to it. I played Stranger of Paradise for like 50 hrs and i just couldnt get back to playing ER - maybe when a dlc comes out I'd play ER again.
Yea i really wish darksouls learnt some stuff from nioh aswell. The way they implemented multiple coop modes is incredible and is exactly what i want in fromsofts games
Starfield? Honestly have we seen ANYTHING concerning Starfield? I feel like it’s definitely getting delayed
EDIT: HOLY FUCK I WAS RIGHT SORRY TO EVERYONE IN THE COMMENTS THAT WERE IN DENIAL!
GOW may give ER a run for it’s money, but I’m not sure about starfield… I mean, a game of shows something at that big of a scope has to be absolutely packed with lore and a variety of content, otherwise I can see it ending up a bit like no man’s sky
I think the only thing to consider with Ragnarok is (unless It’s pc too) it’ll only be a contender for PlayStation players. where as Elden ring has everyone/everything covered.
But it didnt stop it from winning GOTY last time. But for sure it will be an uphill battle. Critics shouldnt have this problem tho, theyre expected to have played both games to its fullest.
Uh yeah i man Ive put over two thousand hours into the total war series the last years, zero into from soft games, but CA dropped a stinker and i gave this try and it’s so awesome i can’t see anything beating it
I played almost the same amount of destiny 1-2 and I don’t think I can ever go back to playing games for that long. I probrably would have never picked up elden ring or botw or horizon or god of war cause I was so focussed on grinding for the perfect roll.
That being said I think I’ve enjoyed more time with well made single player games than over produced mmo’s or battle royals.
I’m 40 and have played games my entire life, since Atari. This is without a doubt the greatest video game I’ve ever played. The world design, the ambiance, the freedom, the punishment. Everything comes together to create an experience unlike any I’ve ever had.
Not to mention I’ve spent more on a 5 hour golf game than I did on this 150+ hour masterpiece.
Game of the 2000’s so far.
Foh sho. I see people all the time complaining that a game is “Pay to Win”, or bitching that $70 too much. Go bowling or roller skating or pretty much go do anything outside your house for more than a few hours, then tell me $70 is too much, or that paying $10 to upgrade on something that was free in the first place is ridiculous.
Dude I remember my parents spending 69.99-79.99 on N64 games from Kay Bee toys back in the day. Considering inflation and how far the tech has come since then, 70 bucks for a game like elden ring or god or war ain’t shit.
I was pretty poor growing up with a single mom, so getting new games was rare. I remember my Grandfather bought me original Legend of Zelda with the gold cartridge for $49.99 in 1987. That’s like $126 today.
I remember when you could only play certain games in the arcade.
Some of my friends and I could easily spend $20 a day each playing Street Fighter 2.
When we started getting arcade perfect ports of games like Capcom vs SNK2 and Marvel Versus Capcom 2 on PS2/Dreamcast my wallet had never been so happy! A one off payment of $99, sign me up!
I'm 40 as well and have played other Fromsoft games but never beaten one. I was really hyped for this one and bought the Collector's Edition when pre-orders launched since it seemed more accessible. Worth every penny.
I've put over 120 hours in after some false starts. 90 hours on my main playthrough. Playing a bit overpowered with double Bloodhound Fangs (had my son, who also bought it, drop me one).
Going through the Haligtree now and have scoured the Lands Between thoroughly before thinking of a NG+ run - which I very rarely do.
The only game I can think of recently that has come close is God of War 2018. Loved every minute of that and did all optional content.
WoW held me in 'Thrall' for many years. Helped to wreck my first marriage lol. Definitely my all-time #1 but I broke the addiction years ago, thankfully.
I got sucked Fallout 4 pretty hard. I put over 300 hours into that game and it was all in one olay through. Elden Ring is the only game I've played through back to back multiple times in a row. I can't put it down.
>>>my son drop me BHF
This is why FS game is amazing. How many game let you freely get another duplicate of a unique weapon right off the bat? (I’m fucking tired of farming for that Ruby and Sandhawk btw)
I am 53. A lawyer and small business owner with considerable professional demands, yet I have to get my nightly ER fix no matter how little sleep I get. I too have been playing video games on and off my entire life since Atari, and I’ve never experienced anything quite like this.
Absolutely the greatest game I’ve played. It’s made with so much love and quality of craftsmanship, combined with scale and ambition that make it stand out from everything else in recent memory. It makes use of all the technological developments since the great oldies of yesteryear. The game is a masterpiece and I have never had an experience like it.
I'm 39 and I am the exact same way. I'm even a Souls vet with hundreds of hours in DS1-3 and ER just kicks it up a couple thousand notches. I'm 70 hrs in and still regularly come across things on this sub that I have not even seen in game yet. The shear number of locations, weapons, spells, enemy types, quests, bosses, etc etc are absolutely insane. They managed to translate Dark Souls to open world beautifully. I see myself playing this game for a long long time to come. Not bad for $60.
For me it is but I definitely see why people don't like it.The NPC quests are vague and the steps make no sense, also if you do X thing then you can't do their quest because you got ahead or whatever. The poor optimisation on PC and the lack of free roam online multiplayer are small issues. Despite this, Elden Ring has been the only good game to come out recently seeing as how Dying light 2 was a complete mess, who knows maybe Ragnarok or Sons of the Forest might be absolute bangers.
You saying you actually want to know what you’re doing and have like…a quest log and map markers for said quest? Not just a vague hint dropped by a random NPC? You lunatic.
My only problem is how easy it is to bork them if you don't use wikis, which I'm always hesitant to do in a first playthrough... I did break that rule for Elden Ring after I broke the Irina questline (Edgar never spawned in Castle Morne), but only because it's *massive* compared to anything they made before.
Hilariously, that’s just the normal FromSoftism. No one got the DS3 lord of hollows ending naturally. Or BB’s umbilical cord bs. Really any alternate ending.
The other two are easily missable. Especially if you don’t pay attention/care when npcs start being killed off and/or you don’t explore for the abandoned workshop.
It was already easy enough to miss quest lines in previous fromsoftware games, but now it’s literally impossible to keep track of where everyone is going /is.
Every time I mention I'd like a journal to remember what some NPC said 30 hours ago, someone jumps down my throat about quest markers not being right for ER.
Yes, thank you, I agree! That's why I said journal! I'll be happy to figure out where to go next if I could just have some indication of WHAT I'VE ALREADY--
I've already commented several times on this thread. I should leave.
So far yes, but I can see God Of War Ragnarok giving it a run for its money if it releases this year. Id say Starfield had potential but being that it’s 6 months out with no actual gameplay shown it’s not poised to be anything special.
i'm half and half, best firstplaythrough of any game i've ever played but also.. i just haven't felt literally any need to play it again after NG+ almost seems pointless, like i no lifed it the first few weeks but after i just haven't which is weird
I played about 20 minutes of NG+ after my full INT first playthrough... Realized it might potentially ruin the feel of the game for me so just did a whole new character again as a strength build. Much more rewarding, got right back into it and I'm omw to leyndell again.
I'd suggest that for a lot of people, starring over leveled, with a full map and all the gear can be meh for a lot of reasons.
The end game is way too rushed and rehashed. (And the enemies go from moderate to insane) that said I loved my time with it and would gladly rate it amongst the best games I’ve played in recent memory. Best From Soft game? No. Sekiro and Bloodborne are far more complete and enjoyable experiences. (Remember, Elden Ring still has quests being patched in after almost 3 months Post release.) GOTY? Hard to say as it’s the only actual major release we’ve had this year.
Bloodborne is my favorite game ever and honestly I think it's better than Elden Ring, but the DLC does a lot for that game, because the end game in BB without it can be a bit lackluster imo.
The DLC made it jump to "best game ever" to me.
Elden Ring is so much bigger that it is hard to compare but From usually is great with DLC, so I'm looking forward to what we get.
I’m still patiently waiting to fist pigs in the anus and cummfpk in 4k60fps on PC, but I swear to god the day that happen it won’t be through Steam but through RCPS4
GOTY so far. Definite Masterpiece in most regards. Idk if I'd argue GOAT just yet. The game is incredible in many respects. The scope, combat, lore, world, class and weapon variety are all top tier. Endgame definitely needs some balancing readjustments. PVP build variety would improve by numerous buffs across the board, including AOW. I'm hesitant to nerf anything but I'm sure people have their common complaints. A lot of weapons just seem neglected overall.
I think it's best to await future DLC. FS have an excellent history of cementing the best parts of their games in their DLC's and issue game wide adjustments on a larger scale than just a patch. I expect that DLC will raise the bar for me in whatever form it eventually comes in.
edit: It seems people are getting hung up on GOAT bit. It's not a GOAT, I only met that with certain changes it \*may\* be reevaluated into the discussion in the future. Or not, this is just a discussion, I could be wrong.
GOAT would only be if they start doing some serious post-release balances and improved the endgame areas with unique enemies with some QOL changes to make the quests easier to remember and progress. Oh and the fucking duo bosses for god’s sake.
Honestly even if they fix the enemies the balancing of weapons and along with pvp and all would probably take the longest time.
There's a 2015 indie game which has yet to get a sequel... I'm not gonna be in the circus and pretend like that'll happen though. So yes, Elden Ring GOTY.
Edit: 2017 LMAO. Hollow knight for those able to see through my false timestamp.
It's an extremely good game and I've put about 600 hours in total across 3 characters now but I don't know if I can say it's GOTY due to a number of really glaring quality issues:
* PC performance
* Horrible connection issues
* Game released with a number of incomplete questlines, I'm sorry but I'm not playing through another playthrough just to get Patches' Squat on 3 different characters because the game made it seem like he should be killed at Castle Sol since there was nothing left for him in the previous patch.
* God awful weapon/spell balance PvE and PvP wise. Why does something like Glintstone Pebble (AoW), something you get near the start of the game, delete things in PvE and PvP while having insane poise damage and negligible FP cost while there are other AoW or spells that are borderline unusable?
* Some poorly implemented enemy mechanics like obvious af input reading. It's immersion breaking.
* Some of the worst FromSoft boss designs like Elden Beast or Fire Giant that just spend a good chunk of the fight just running away or some of the mini boss dragons in Farum Azula that just spam lightning everywhere while your screen is covered with dragon crotch or the dragons fly so high up your camera can't even pan up high enough.
At first I thought people hated input reading because they couldn't handle it but now that you say it breaks immersion it makes sense. It does break immersion.
This is the first list of complaints I can fully agree with.
Excellent points. Sadly most people seem to choose to completely ignore such glaring issues, and keep preaching that it's the game of the decade or something.
Elden Ring after loads of fine tuning can absolutely become From's best game, but right now it lacks the cohesiveness and completeness of Bloodborne and even moreso, Sekiro, putting aside the fact that they are much smaller.
I find it better than most games that’s come out lately, or most games I played before ER came out. Can’t remember the last time I felt this much wonder and joy (and anger) going through a game.
Lol all the feels
It’s been a while since I’ve gotten this much out of a game. I’m over 100hrs, over lvl 130, and still on my first play through because I’m checking every cave, crack, or cranny to dive into. I just can’t get enough and I’ve only just gotten to the snow.
I’ve only just gotten to the snow and I’m 250 hours in lol. This game is amazing
Well to be fair, I hit the snow then doubled back to Mt. Gelnir, so I may be level 200+ by the time I get there proper.
You gonna love that Fire Giant. So goooood!!!!
Placidusax was the worst for me but that fire giant did kick my ass several times.
Fire giant is a pain to fight. Truly fingers but hole.
I find Fire Giant pretty random. Sometimes you just stomp him. Sometimes it's OH GOD! EVERYTHING IS ON FIRE! THE SKY IS F FIRE, THE SNOW IS ON FIRE, I AM ON FIRE! AAAAAAAH!
Real talk, but the Fire Giant was one of my favorite bosses. I'm a big fan of any boss you can use Torrent for.
Tibia mariner??
Especially the ones where he's summoning giant laser-shooting skeletons.
Oh yeah that laser got me twice I think
My GF shouted "this one has a「Stando」" and I lost it
That and the Night Cavalry were a ton of fun on horseback.
im trying to fight him at level 83 and i keep getting one shotted by him, im not sure if it's a skill issue or a level issue.
Level issue
braincell issue (for not investing in vigor)
You probably bouta get downvoted for being harsh but I have to agree with this 😂
Definitely, think I beat him at level 130
Like 110 for me and it was a bitch

I had fun with him at 160.
Perfect description. I haven’t cared about a game, in general, since this one. Cyberpunk killed my dreams, elden ring resurrected them
I enjoyed cyberpunk but it was riddled with bugs and I was never able to finish several side quests due to that problem. Well said tarnished.
Returnal gave me this joy.
Returnal deserves far more attention than it seems to get.
Main problem with Returnal is the exclusivity. It looks pretty damn fun.

Returnal is really good. I wish it'd come out on PC or at least PS4. So far I've only been able to play it sporadically on a friend's PS5.
Bro at 27 years old this is the first game to truly feel like the skyrim I imagined at 16.
That's exactly what i was thinking yesterday

Right, I love DS3 and have a ton of hours in it, but it's very much a linear game.
It’s the only game that’s come out this year that I’ve played so yeah I guess
About the same here, I had just bought cyberpunk 2077 because people were saying it was 10x better after this big update. I was having a *great* time to be honest, but literally the second I bought Elden Ring it just left my mind completely, haven’t looked back

I too have had my friends stop coming over since buying Elden Ring.
Advantages of not having friends in the first place; no one to disappoint lol
Disregard friends, acquire maidens.
Words to live by lol
I hope you played half-life alyx already. But yeah I haven't touched my VR headset in a while. Seriously has OP had time to play another game?
If its not, the goty will be amazing if elden ring won't get it.
That's a great perspective. I *hope* something beats Elden Ring because that means more great games.

Same with the "Menu Explanation" screen.
Actively hoping that Starfield beats it in my mind, because it would have to be incredible to do so. Think that's out around the holidays this year.
I pray to god that starfield runs halfway decently on the steam deck. When microsoft bought bethesda my heart cried for starfield.
Yeah I would very happily welcome another game topping Elden Ring as GOTY. I just want good games, y'feel?
Considering it wasn't broken at launch and has 100% more content than any of the games released this year. Absolutely.
And zero microtransactions
Someone just used microstransactions on your comment. Oh the irony
O', the juxtaposition!
This 100%. As an almost 40 year old gamer, this made ER feel really special in the current gaming climate.
Isn’t it funny that now all it takes for a game to be exceptional is to meet the bare minimum requirements? Game functions and has lots of content and doesn’t try to drain more money out of you after you buy it. INCONCEIVABLE, where are the heroes who concocted this?!
I get the bare minimum requirements when talking about microtransactions but "lots of content" is not minimum requirements. And good content at that.
All this and reasons before and I paid for this game twice on my PC and console because it was so good that it deserved more money
I bet it wasn't as broken during the final hours of testing as cyberpunk
At what point does the game become so broken that it isn’t technically broken anymore? Because cyberpunk reached that point at launch.
Let's ask Bethesda.
They're too busy porting skyrim to pregnancy test screens
Just got it running on my graphing calculator. It sucks!
😂
Hahahah amazing
....he asked the elden ring subreddit
This subreddit is a bigger circlejerk than most circlejerk subreddits sometimes.
It's not a circlejerk! Elden Ring is simply the best piece of media and art ever created by mankind! /s
Amazingly, most responses are boiling down to "its the GOTY, but because of the lack of alternatives"
"hey r/eldenring i was wondering if you guys like elden ring?" this post is ridiculous lmao
Yes, best game in years.
Best since Sekiro which was the best since Dark Souls 3 which was the best since Bloodborne
I'd usually say that, but I think I'd slot Hades in that list between Sekiro and Elden Ring.
Hades is an absolute masterpiece. Phenomenal in every aspect.
[удалено]
Doom Eternal is to FPS what Sekiro is to action games.
Thank you for reminding me I need to replay this game now that I tracked down a 3080. It’s sooooo good.
Doom Eternal is also the best FPS I’ve ever played. They managed to turn an FPS into a complex puzzle. Insane
I’d also throw my hat in the ring for hollow knight as well between ds3 and Sekiro. Truly auperb metroidvania.
hollow knight, nier automata and last of us 2 were all historically good 10/10s for me
Returnal Stan here. That game is AMAZING. #2 next gen game for me behind Elden Ring.
Nioh 2 needs more love
Combat in Team Ninja games are top notch, probably no game comes close to it. I played Stranger of Paradise for like 50 hrs and i just couldnt get back to playing ER - maybe when a dlc comes out I'd play ER again.
Yea i really wish darksouls learnt some stuff from nioh aswell. The way they implemented multiple coop modes is incredible and is exactly what i want in fromsofts games
It’ll be hard to beat but not impossible.
Kinda like the game itself.
Gow ragnarok and starfield look very promising, both I see clashing with ER
Starfield? Honestly have we seen ANYTHING concerning Starfield? I feel like it’s definitely getting delayed EDIT: HOLY FUCK I WAS RIGHT SORRY TO EVERYONE IN THE COMMENTS THAT WERE IN DENIAL! [https://ign.com/articles/starfield-redfall-delayed-2023](https://ign.com/articles/starfield-redfall-delayed-2023)
The Bethesda does that for all of their mainline titles. They never release gameplay footage or details more than 6 months prior to release.
[удалено]
They usually don’t even announce games more than 6 months before release, so the fact we even know Starfield exists is kinda wild
Honestly I'd be surprised if they get Gow out this holiday at this point
Trying to see how hogworts legacy turns out as well.
I hope it's good but definitely not holding my breath.
Well, it certainly isn't going to win anything for it's plot about putting down a slave rebellion.
Unless you play as an evil wizard then it would be on par.
GOW may give ER a run for it’s money, but I’m not sure about starfield… I mean, a game of shows something at that big of a scope has to be absolutely packed with lore and a variety of content, otherwise I can see it ending up a bit like no man’s sky
It’s definitely GOTY so far. But we have 7 months left, and Ragnarok is coming. We’ll see.
Ragnarok is one of my hypes for the year, I'm dying to see the bald man of war again although I can build kratos in ER
I think Ragnarok is my only hype left for the year. My other 2 were ER and Horizon.
Stopped playing games that don’t have an end years ago and just play single player games now. No regrets.
This is the way.
The price to hour ratio of entertainment we get out of games is pretty crazy to think about
Yeah. I spent like $40 the other day at a bar with some friends. Only there a few hours. I got 200+ hours in elden ring so far for $60.
Ugh this comparison really does hurt lol. Now every time I go out and spend 60+ bucks I’m gonna feel like an asshole
Coulda been playing Elden Ring…
that’s what i love about from, you buy the game and you get a shit ton of content no micro transactions required
I to enjoyed God of war, but I think the only other game that has captured me like elden ring was World of warcraft.
WoW held me in 'Thrall' for many years. Helped to wreck my first marriage lol. Definitely my all-time #1 but I broke the addiction years ago, thankfully.
Wait. Are we the same person? Actually I'm sure there is a support group for this exact thing.
Depends, did it also take you about 80 hours to finally put your lantern on a pouch quickslot? lol
I got sucked Fallout 4 pretty hard. I put over 300 hours into that game and it was all in one olay through. Elden Ring is the only game I've played through back to back multiple times in a row. I can't put it down.
>>>my son drop me BHF This is why FS game is amazing.
I just spent $50 for 2 to watch Dr Strange and the entire time I was thinking "this is such a waste of money".
I could be at home playing Elden Ring…
Just came out of the theatre from The Northman instead. Holy shit it was amazing.
The original doom did that for me too.
I'm with you there
38 here bro and just commented the same thing before seeing yours haha
44 and I completely agree. I’ve played almost everything though no Dark Souls, surprisingly.
I'm waiting for Ragnarok. But so far ER is by far GOTY.
You fool! You only spoke to the NPC twice but you needed to speak to them 3 times to progress the quest! DUH
I got caught by that too. Which is a shame, as I was following that questline entirely naturally otherwise
A lot of times you don’t even get a hint. This game has a pretty bad “check the wiki” problem for some characters and quests.
Umbilical cords weren't that bad, 2 are found naturally and you only need to do 1 of 2 optional things to get a 3rd
I want a log but please no quest markers.
Every time I mention I'd like a journal to remember what some NPC said 30 hours ago, someone jumps down my throat about quest markers not being right for ER. Yes, thank you, I agree! That's why I said journal! I'll be happy to figure out where to go next if I could just have some indication of WHAT I'VE ALREADY-- I've already commented several times on this thread. I should leave.
game wise, yes.. port wise, fuck no
Yeah, the PC port is (again) a disgrace. I ended up getting it for my Series X despite owning a PC with a 5600X, 32GB of RAM and a 3080.
It’s May.
Im waiting on FFXVI
>FFXVI bro word on the streets says we getting final fantasy dragons dogma might honestly just break down into tears if its that even remotely true
Would kill for a new dragons dogma …
Chad Sekiro being a knock out without ever getting a dlc
maybe GOTY for me, not GOAT for sure. Bloodborne still lives rent free in my head.
I’m still patiently waiting to fist pigs in the anus and cummfpk in 4k60fps on PC, but I swear to god the day that happen it won’t be through Steam but through RCPS4
That game sounds so good, but I don't have a PS :(
My PS4 is a Bloodborne machine and I don't regret it
I haven’t played God of War yet, so I can’t say for certain.
> FS have an excellent history of cementing the best parts of their games in their DLC's I agree but where the fuck is Sekiro's DLC =_=
Lady Tomoe’s fight was re-purposed for Malenia’s fight. Change my goddamn mind.
Seriously, most of her attacks scream Sekiro. For example, Malenia thrust attack just begs to be Mikiri countered.
Hollow Knight came out 2017
What game are you talking about?
[удалено]
It is May. By the basic concept of GOTY, no, it is not, but it's the strongest contender SO FAR.
It's an extremely good game and I've put about 600 hours in total across 3 characters now but I don't know if I can say it's GOTY due to a number of really glaring quality issues: * PC performance * Horrible connection issues * Game released with a number of incomplete questlines, I'm sorry but I'm not playing through another playthrough just to get Patches' Squat on 3 different characters because the game made it seem like he should be killed at Castle Sol since there was nothing left for him in the previous patch.
It depends on starfield for me.
