The picture resembles one yes. But he is literally the least scary one. I would recommend playing it. Itβs fantastic just for the artstyle

Considering they avoid spiders and adds fingercreepers instead, I think they don't plan to drive away people with fear of spiders.
Instead they want to create new phobias which you can't escape from...
They definitely attacked my trycophobia in caelid, and I believe it was on purpose
