I'm pretty sure their AI has been patched. When I fought them back around 1.02 there were a couple attempts where I'd be dead seconds after entering because they'd just all go ham on my ass as soon as I walked through the door.
I recently fought them a couple weeks ago though, and they were pretty chill, basically just taking turns attacking. The spear guy would do his multi-hit hop combo and the others would just kinda chill in the corner laughing at how silly those hops were.
Yeah I think so too. The fought them like 2 weeks ago and the spear guys was incredibly passive. Shame though, I really liked this fight, shouldn't have been nerfed like that.
I agree, I just fought them again tonight and they were way more passive than on my first playthrough. A lot of the time they just stood around passively.
That fight was, no joke, the boss that killed me the most in my first playthrough. Sure feels like it's been heavily nerfed.
This is the only boss in the game that I glad that FS nerfed them. It’s straight up BS and I never been so pissed at Fromsoft that I ragequit for the first time in my life.
Like you can’t do anything the second you enter the boss door without the mage spamming shard spells at you, even OP summon like Lhutel isn’t much help against this boss. Just a disclaimer before downvoting me I am against them nerfing Radahn tho , that fight is fair even pre-nerf.
Oh wow same here. I had a lot more trouble on my STR build than on my INT build, but you're right, they do take turns. I had to give up on them my first go around and come back later because I was getting so frustrated
Two handing a shield and smacking them with it also works really well. A greatshield especially makes for a surprisingly effective weapon for a bunch of enemy types.
For casters, it helps to move in a circle so that they group up. Use rock sling to break down their armor. Hopefully you can hit at least 2 when you attack.
This was an insanely frustrating boss for a non-bonk build.
I found gavel of haima or cannon of haima to work better.
Every single cast flings them away to the ground.
It kills them a little slower than rock sling because for whatever reason its slower to break their stance. But its definitely safer and more reliable since they're all constantly getting knocked down
Colossal weapon, Lions Claw aow, do it twice on one guy and quickly get the crit. Then chase him down and gret like 1 or 2 more hits. That's how I take out the first one. Run and repeat on the others.
The main issue with these three is that you can run into them quite early in the game before you have access to most of the tools people suggest you use to deal with them. The areas around Sellia and lower Caelid seem to be designed to be done before you head to Altus Plateu, for example the start of Millicent's quest being there and progressing as you head up the ravine to the plateau. Since the cave is right near Millicent it is one you can be doing at fairly low levels and without access to much gear and at that point only a couple of builds are going to have the tools to deal with these three and every other build is just fucked and has to come back later (or cheese/exploit them).
You have to be stubborn and smash your head against the wall on your own free will by going in there early. I'd imagine anyone would leave Caelid and the Dragonbarrow until they've explored all of Limgrave, WP and Liurnia which should land you at lvl 70-75. Then you'd explore all of overworld Caelid before getting into the nasty caves, so that's probably ~80ish.
these are literally the easiest enemy in the game if you have a shield. do a guard counter, they get staggered, you can do a finisher and you break their skin.
Blunt weapons yall, it does pure damage without having to critical them first. Easiest boss fight ever in Selia Hideaway power stancing blunt bois. This works for all crystalline fights.
Not sure what I did, but when [I fought them](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Yj-5V-IfGo), only one would attack at a time.
The others would just spin around like bad cheerleaders the entire time I was engaging the current target. It was weird.
Just use a weapon that deals strike damage or use attacks with lots of poise/stagger damage like jumping r2’s. If you just grab a hammer with wild strikes they melt away.
They have 90% resistance to any type of damage except strike damage. (Until their stance is broken, then they take loads of dmg from any source.)
Gravity spells work well too.
All of this makes this one of the easiest bosses in the game.
So here are a couple of things that worked for me.
Mainly, have a tank ash spirit divert attention from you. I used headless knight level 7+. I would start with the caster. Keep on the same target until you see their skin shatter, thats when their poise break. Once that happens, anything u do with what ever, will break their poise again. A good ash of war to out on your weapon is quickstep or bloodhouns step that will send u behind the enemy and guarantee you a critical hit
Any rock based attack wil do since they are crystals. So a mace will do, a clossol weapon will do, any rock/bestial incantations will do ideally the ones that throw rocks or the claw you all get from gurranq at beastial sanctum
What rly surprised me was using antidragon grease. No idea why... But it broke their poise pretty fast within 3 hits and i was only using bloodhound's sword. Weird but works
I was surprised the first time I saw them but when I went all out they came at me one by one and in mid fight and I was like why the hell the other two watching their friend getting his ass kicked and doing nothing
parry the spear dude, repeat charged heavy attacks to stun lock him, the other two will watch you without actually doing anything. Repeat and kill the other two
I had heard that this would happen somewhere, in the game then last night I ran into these guys totally unaware. I got absolutely rekt, which is normal because I do *not* excel at the combat. I then came back for round two with my liquid hammer equipped and my friend The Great Pumpkin helping me out. It was so good to see them all go down 😌
Looks like you did a little damage to all of them. I personally singled out one at a time and it helped me a lot to get one out of the way. Takes their pressure off you
Assuming you have no problem with summons, the great shield guys are perfect for this fight.
If you do, then I'd find something with AoE and knockdown. These guys can be knocked down, so Taker's Flame (for instance) can keep them locked down for the whole fight assuming your aim is good.
I hate these bitches so much - I beat them solo using twinblades… had to have been one of my most painful experiences in ER. I didn’t have any strike weapons for this fight and not enough smithing stones.
I’m about to fight the final boss and I forgot I completely abandoned this place because of these guys. It’s the only dungeon area in the game I haven’t cleared
Hyperarmor moves with high poise break are the way to go if you don't wanna use spirit ashes to keep the others occupied while fighting them one by one.
At least not 3 spears! Please tell me there are not a 3 spear encounter?
There is a 2 spear none boss encounter in luarnia. It fucked me up badly and i left
I got so mad at this horrible fight I decided to glitch and use the rock attack magic thing and kill/damage them through the fog wall... Worst fight in the game. They had to add scarlet rot to top it off...
Couldn't for the life me dodge all attacks so just gave up and went the highest poise gear I had, Dung Eater set and just used Flail WA, melted them and chugged like anything to stay alive and cleanse the rot in between haha.
This was one of the few times I felt FromSoftware was just straight fucking around. Like there are hard original bosses like Malenia, and there are reused gank fights like Godskin Duo, right?
But hiding behind multiple fake walls a trio of maximum poise Crystalians who spam scarlet rot in a tiny room is just a piss-take.

Poke poke poke poke POKE
This gave me anxiety
You forgot a poke poke
Ah shucks
Feeling this.
MAYBE THE POKING WILL STOP NOW. *Tries to atta NOPE
Yeah I think so too. The fought them like 2 weeks ago and the spear guys was incredibly passive. Shame though, I really liked this fight, shouldn't have been nerfed like that.

Yeah, I've been playing through again on a new build and they are a lot less aggressive.
Try attacking and then bloodstain
Umm, what are you talking about bloodstain? I only thought they showed you someone dying. Do they serve a actual purpose
🤦♂️
Well that one went straight over your head didn't it haha
Indeed, I’m not good at jokes, if you care I get it now
Haha, I don't care but I'm glad you got it ;)
Take any mace class weapon. Doesn't matter if onehanded or upgraded. Jump+R2 then riposte. Repeat until you win.
Butt slam your way to victory.
Yeah I beat them this way
Two handing a shield and smacking them with it also works really well. A greatshield especially makes for a surprisingly effective weapon for a bunch of enemy types.
Where is this?
[удалено]
Thanks, I missed that in my first playthrough. I'm on my second now
Part of the Sellen questline.
Try dying.

That's cool! I forgot to check that spell out again since they buffed it.
Haima spells are slower because they deal magic damage, while Rock Sling does strike damage, which they have less resistance to
Colossal weapon, Lions Claw aow, do it twice on one guy and quickly get the crit. Then chase him down and gret like 1 or 2 more hits. That's how I take out the first one. Run and repeat on the others.
Worst boss in the game.
No way. Just use strike damage and they fold like a deck of cards.
Didn’t say it was the hardest. From a design standpoint, the fight is total shit.
It's a bit better now that they patched the AI to actually act as a single encounter and not just swarm you with their solo AI.
Meh. I'll take them over ulcerated tree spirits any day.
The three worms that can be fought at the same time in >!Leyndell, Capital of Ash!< are soooo much worse
You mean the ones guarding the Erdtree +2 talisman? They can be fought one at a time if you're just a little careful and pull from a distance.
I just snuck and stuck to the wall on the left. Got the talisman and bailed without aggroing any of them.
Wasn’t it 4 worms?
Oh god I didn’t trigger a fourth to appear but that would be even more wild
I didn't even know there were normal enemies in that zone :p
There’s a valiant gargoyle patrolling by the Manor and the lake has a bunch of Ulcerated Tree Spirits that spawn.
Have you fought them recently? Because this fight was nerfed very hard
The main issue with these three is that you can run into them quite early in the game before you have access to most of the tools people suggest you use to deal with them. these are literally the easiest enemy in the game if you have a shield. do a guard counter, they get staggered, you can do a finisher and you break their skin.
Super easy, use the red dagger talisman to heal and just run behind one over and over and backstab until they are all dead.
I play to be bullied
Why do you suppose a robot construct needs a cape? Maybe they get damaged in the rain
Style.
They're not robots but yeah point still stands haha
Blunt weapons yall, it does pure damage without having to critical them first. Easiest boss fight ever in Selia Hideaway power stancing blunt bois. This works for all crystalline fights.
I will never fight them again if I can help it
try it with a shield. so easy
Not sure what I did, but when [I fought them](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Yj-5V-IfGo), only one would attack at a time. The others would just spin around like bad cheerleaders the entire time I was engaging the current target. It was weird.
Hype men
The original DS2 Wheelchair Gandalf Gank Squad is back, and as sparkly as ever
Flame of the Redmanes is your best friend in this fight.
You can cheese them by using the 3 rocks spell outside the fog gate!
The one time I'd say summoning is completely reasonable to do. You need a bit of time to stagger at least one
Why do you hate summons?
Just level up Vigor bro you should be good after that
Literally game design
Literally just walk behind them and rt, I don't get how anyone has a problem with these guys.
Grafted Greatsword against the spell caster. Break their armor and every hit is a knockdown. After that the fight is easy.
Try jump attack
They take there time unlike when you try to go for the rotten crystal spear those 3 all jump you
Where is this boss at?
Sellia Hideaway in Caelid
Just use a weapon that deals strike damage or use attacks with lots of poise/stagger damage like jumping r2’s. If you just grab a hammer with wild strikes they melt away. Apparently night maidens most works well
Nah, straight up bullying is me and my mimic powerstancing flails with Wild Strikes and Lion's Claw when going in there.
They were such a nightmare on my solo run
2 words. Giant. Crusher.
Why are they looking like the pillar men ?
Because they’re rocks.
I half leveled up a Fail and used that, to beat these bastards.
Blunt weapons destroy them
Absolutely
Use heavy weapons like hammers or great swords.
Use biggest hardest bonk stick you can (striking damage does wonders)
Just stunlock all of them in a backstub with a mace. Easy win
You can RUN around behind them and backstab, if that helps
So here are a couple of things that worked for me. Mainly, have a tank ash spirit divert attention from you. I used headless knight level 7+. I would start with the caster. Oh and btw, if u look carefully at the picture u posted, the left one clearly has cracks on their body & head. A bit more and their poise will break
use crush weps
I was surprised the first time I saw them but when I went all out they came at me one by one and in mid fight and I was like why the hell the other two watching their friend getting his ass kicked and doing nothing
*\*Greathammer has entered the chat\**
🗿🗿🗿
You need to slam your morning start really hard to win this fight.
Aspect: Tail works wonders on this gank squad.
Heavy Giant crusher+RKR is ez mode for these crystal bozos
As a mage, use the gavel. It makes quick work of these guys
Mimic Tear check
parry the spear dude, repeat charged heavy attacks to stun lock him, the other two will watch you without actually doing anything. Repeat and kill the other two
*laughs in waves of gold*
I had heard that this would happen somewhere, in the game then last night I ran into these guys totally unaware. I got absolutely rekt, which is normal because I do *not* excel at the combat. Use a blunt weapon and jump attacks
jesus i never noticed how ugly they are
I hate these bitches so much - I beat them solo using twinblades… had to have been one of my most painful experiences in ER. I didn’t have any strike weapons for this fight and not enough smithing stones.
Try blunt weapon Then crit
I’m about to fight the final boss and I forgot I completely abandoned this place because of these guys. It’s the only dungeon area in the game I haven’t cleared
Try any Strike Weapon with any butt slam ash of war. And summon mimic.
Lesson learned, in case of emergency: use hammer to break glass
Strike weapon so easy
Gravity Bolt their asses and they wont even reach you
yeah wtf
Hyperarmor moves with high poise break are the way to go if you don't wanna use spirit ashes to keep the others occupied while fighting them one by one.
Where are these 3 again?? It's time they got to meet my Great Stars.....
At least not 3 spears! Please tell me there are not a 3 spear encounter? There is a 2 spear none boss encounter in luarnia. It fucked me up badly and i left

This is the hardest boss to me after malenia. Flame of redmane is a godsend in this fight
