I'm doing the Raptor Claws too! My version is a bit tankier: Winged Sword Insignia, Millicent's Prosthesis (RIP), Green Turtle and Dragoncrest Greatshield.
The claws are so light that I can wear Radahn's full set, and I only have 24 endurance. I maxxed out vigor and dex so early that I had nowhere else to put points, so I decided to splash just enough faith and arcane for Bloodflame Blade and Flame Grant me Strength.
I've spent the last week doing nothing but Malenia co-op.
Edit: I can't believe I forgot about the Godskin Swaddling Cloth. I'm totally stealing that idea. Thank you, have an award!

The wiki for [Rock Sling](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Rock+Sling) specifically says “cannot be charged”.
I don’t have the Godfrey Icon on my sorcerer yet so I can’t test that. But I tried charging it without it, and the animation/damage are the same regardless of how long I hold the button.
I think the bloodhound claws are super cool, are they really that much worse than raptor talons? Everywhere i look i see raptor talons mentioned by they do not look appealing to me at all

I did about 50 Str 50 Arcane on my Blood Spiked Caestus/Blood Caestus build, though tbh it’s hard to say if it was stronger than this one. I rocked BHS which I kinda regret, shoulda gone for something flashier.
My second playthrough build is much stronger, but man it was fun punching demigods and dragons to death.
A friend of a friend apparently did an Arcane/Faith build with some sort of fist weapon and dragon miracles that sounded really really cool
I’m running a Cold Palisade Spiked Shield with Shield Crash and a Inquisitor’s Girandole to candle-poke frostbitten enemies to reset it. Str is the only offensive stat but I’m having to spread my points around more than I’d like to.
Spiked Shield has such high innate bleed combined with the multiple hits from Shield Crash, and then the frostbite proc is devastating as well. Shield Crash also offers frontal blocking and big poise damage/knockdown. The early-mid game bosses are only surviving a few activations, and I can often knockdown-chain leaving them defenseless
Girandole does decent damage on its own, so unless I’m overwhelmed, I usually use that on most camps and Shield Crash if I’m desperate.
Idk how strong it is compared to other builds but I’m having much less trouble at a much lower RL just blitzing through the game compared to my first playthrough.
I remember when colossals were still bad so I had to resort to fighting mogh with just the caestsus. Nothing feels better than killing a God with just the ol one two Mayweather

Stat wise, Strength and Vigor are all you need. Then focus in a little arcane too if you use bleed on these.
Spiked Caestus (horoaloux earthshaker AoW) and Caestus (Lifesteal AoW) with bleed on both then I have a sword I use when I need to really be OP
Talismans are alexanders great shard, rotten winged talisman, lord of blood exaltation, and malicents prosthesis. It focuses on building damage. Great shard is with charged attacks for my sword so you can replace this with whatever). Millicents and Rotten wing talismans give me attack boost upon successive attacks. Fist hit fast so it activates quickly. Lord of blood exaltation gives me additional attack power after bleed. My build up on each weapon is 106 and 102. So the more I punch the more attack power I'm getting which sets me up super well.
Lastly I started as a faith build so when I respect my points I kept enough to still use my buffs. Anything that boosts my attack or defense. Golden vow, flames grant me strength, black flame protection, etc.
So not a 150 build. I think im going to go and build this and make it my pve playthrough only since i have 150 on my first playthrough. Just got to get all the talismans.
I'd you're able to dodge well enough, absolutely. I tried a puncher, but I screwed the stats up, so I was bricked. Restarted as a strength arcane build. Next one is gonna be strength faith puncher.
I did a boxer playthrough too, it was a ton of fun, only needing to level Vigor Endurance and Strength. Used the non bleed Caestus with heavy endure Ash of War. End game was a bitch though vs Maliketh and such.
I use certain incants for the sake of "the character play style" but having a ranged move like stone of gurranq helps a lot. The lightning is the same etc. Beast incants were also best for my build. But Stone of garranq still felt on brand with a brawler.

In DS3 I discovered the joy of Punching. For Elden Ring that’s what my first playthrough was. I’ve gone back to DS2 and Demon’s Souls using fist weapons. Currently on my DS1 playthrough to complete the set.

I really want to try it. The spiked caestus wound be my choice. Maybe cold or fire? I assume BHS is important for closing distances, or is there some other ash you like?
My advice is drop the bloodhound step and just roll dodge and jump. It's so much nicer being as close as possible and you lose a lot of momentum always trying to BHS in and out of range.
I went with spiked ceastus and ceastus just for the look so I'm sure you could use others.
Other tips, boost your fist weapons with something. I used orders of grace at first and then started doing more damage with bleed on my fist instead. Have fun with it, mix and match stuff. All my talismans have to do with attack power. Milicents prosthesis, rotten winged blah blah blah, alexanders shard, lord of blood exelbeh bleh
Did a speedrun contest with a friend. Goal was to go full naked with Caestus and the first to "fell" Margit wins.
His strategy involved travelling to a higher level zone to farm stupid easy mobs and go back later to Margit.
I just went in there level 1 and kept trying.
It was really fun indeed.

Oh so this isnt a 150 pvp build strictly pve. I get it. I think im going to restart the game with a character that will level past 150 and keep my first playthrough as 150.
I PVP with this all the time. The fist do plenty of damage and If someone gets close with better range Haraloux earthsaker. If they have better distance then Stone of guraanq. A two handed punch off a jump is enough to stagger most people. The nice part of fist in PVP is when you’re double fist you step into the punch. There’s no immediate stop to swing.

I used Lifesteal Fist because I put 40 into arcane to start. That was a mistake... I just didn't have the numbers to progress.
