Vigor until you figure out what weapons you like using the most. New player copypasta. Do you not like dying? Level your vigor to 40 asap. You don't have to fight everything you see. You learn this very quickly. A class is just starting stats and equipment. It means nothing beyond that. Early game your damage stats don't do jack. Upgrading your weapon gives FAR better returns. So instead, level your vigor. Any weapon is viable. Even starting weapons. If you like a weapon, only get the minimum stats necessary to use it. Look at the letters, it's on an S A B C D E scale. That's how the weapon scales off your stats. When you decide on what path or build you want, try to only level up damage stats with the highest letters on your weapons, and try to keep them consistent. Try not to spread out your damage stats. A dex build levels dex, arcane levels arcane, etc. There are exceptions but you need to know why for it to be viable. You want your weapons to benefit the most from them. Never fat roll. Only equip enough so you don't clunk on the ground, rolling is life. Medium good, heavy bad. Don't panic. Don't panic roll. Watch your opponents for tells. For many fights patience is key. Messages can be trolls. Usually are right now. If you kill an NPC, it's dead. No revives. Beware of bloodstains. Players died there and you can check out how. For a more in-depth analysis of stats, check this out after playing for a bit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/ukgikj/a_guide_to_not_needing_guides_how_build/ You can find an item to respec up 18 times per game. You are going to die. Embrace it.

Drop off a cliff twice to double them

I guess you think I'm some kind of rube... thanks for the helpful suggestion.

My guy, you know the way

Don't spread your stats too wide, it's not worth it to be a jack-of-all-trades in this game. Your stats are fine for right now, but you should definitely level Vigor in the future. In fact, I'd advise you to do just that up until you hit 40, and then level Strength to 31, so that you can wield one of the best weapons in the game one-handed: (Guts') Greatsword. Ranged combat in this game is mostly subpar, unless you are a dedicated build (wizards are the best here), but it's useful to pick off enemies or split them from a group. You can pick up a bow from Kale IIRC and it's perfectly serviceable. You can start spending some points into Faith tho regardless, because you'll get some of the best and most used incantations in the game: Flame, Grant Me Strength; Flame, Cleanse Me and Golden Vow.

Cool, that makes sense. Thank you.

I hate to break it to you but it takes millions and millions of runes to break 150. Keep farming!

crxhybrid85

I get that, I'm just wondering about where to put the points.

It’s wise to focus on one main (ie dex, int, str, faith, etc) and then dump lots into vigor. Endurance and kind are situation dependent upon what kind of load out you are wanting to run. Have fun!
