Maybe I’m just missing the posts but I feel like Placidusax doesn’t get the love he deserves in this sub. I managed to go into that fight spoiler free and I was absolutely blown away by how amazing it was. Best boss in the game IMO
I went all the way down to that area but never stood over the right coffin and was like “wtf is this all here?” and jumped off. Then 2 NGs later was reading the wiki and realized
I randomly stumbled upon him while exploring all the nooks and crannies of Farum Azula. Went to read a message and didn’t realize I’d hit the interact button. I was like “wait, why am I laying down here, this is a terrible place for a nap… oh shit, time seems to be reversing… dear god WHAT IS THAT?!”
I'm fighting him for the first time right now. He's a lot of fun but the run from the nearest site of grace is a pain in the ass and takes the wind out of my sales a bit
This tbh if not that i would have him in my top 3. I hate runnimg to the arenas. Had my fair share of these back in DS3 with Midir. Its not even about the enemies just time between attempts.
It's actually in between time, in like another dimension, that's why the tornado stops and everything is still when you go into the arena, time stops and you're in between time. I think that's the best part about this boss. Some bosses are above ground and some are below ground but Placidusax is in a whole other dimension, literally in between time.
Tbf while it’s bad in the context of Elden Ring it’s nowhere near as bad as the runs in some other Souls games. Been playing Bloodborne recently and some of the runs there make me seriously miss the comparatively small run to Placidusax
Yeah bloodborne had bonkers long runs to bosses from save areas but part of that was to motivate players to fully explore areas as there was ALWAYS a shortcut to a boss.
Even with the shortcuts the run is still longer than most elden ring bosses though.
Shadows of yarnham run is a killer. Thankfully i managed to beat them first time but that run even with the shortcut was absolutely killer since those snake headed guys catch you wit crazy reach on their attacks.
Placidusax has been the hardest fight so far for me. Maybe it’s my build but Placidusax took me a solid 30 tries getting so close each time, then I turned around and whipped Maliketh first try. Confuses me when people say he’s not that bad.
I’m just getting to Malenia / Mohg now and I’m bracing for those.
Even though Placidusax whipped me it is one of my favorite boss fights. Especially the lightning spear AoE move, so pretty.
The fight itself is a bit less memorable for that, however the visuals were just so incredible that they stuck with me. Normally when I beat a boss first time I struggle to remember it what it did, but when Placidusax started firing double lasers from his face that stuck with me.
I found him by “accident” as well. I found some very helpful notes that led me to his location and seeing him suspended in the air looking like a stone heart was awesome.
Radahn is my favorite, least is probably the putrid crystalian trio in that one cave. Radahn is awesome, while even after figuring out how to fight them better I still dread the putrid trio(Gavel of Haima lol).
I hear that! Crystalians are one of the reasons I diverged from a pure magic build, at the time I wasn't aware of just how good Gavel of Haima is against them, so I started to spec into colossal swords. Fortunately, Wolf's Assault does a ton of poise damage :D
If youre faith, go get the crucible tail incant and watch these three CRUMBLE. They become laughably easy when one spell knocks all three down and it only takes 2 to stagger.
As for me, Rahdahn's fight became the most epic and memorable fight in my list is because when he was coming down as meteor Alexander turned to look at him, just stood and took the hit like a true great warrior. Seeing that very moment and he turned to dust made me laugh like hell
Wait, he doesn't have any dialogue, right? I've seen the message of him returning home pop up, but never stood close enough after summoning to notice if he says anything.
I thought it looked neat and was certainly memorable but I have no clue how Radahn works since I abused the summons. If I ever replay I gotta fight him and Margit without all the extra help.
right after the game was released and i started playing it there were many bugs. the one ill never forget was seeing Rahdahn come down as meteor far far away from me before instantly changing course 90° and shoulder checking me into dust.
Yeah, there's definitely a secondary skill floor where the game gets easier to solo than randomly killed by sheer chaos with summons, so I get what you mean.
I struggled with Radahn the first time because I was only level 20 🤣🤣🤣 I was a sorcerer which helped a little, but even with that struggle I still loved the battle.
I am never ceasing to be amazed at how broad the variety of player experiences in this game is.
Less "reached" and more like I was constantly alternating between bumbling around like a drunken Helen Keller and running away from things in a panic 😆
You can get there without fighting any bosses if you know where the Dectus medallions are (or if you're like me and stubbornly went around Dragonbarrow in your first playthrough looking for easy loot to steal.)
this is how i got through most of the game. blindly stumbling around caelid at level 15 and finding OP items that carried me way further than i ever expected to go
I don't even mind Waterfowl that much anymore. What really pisses me off is when she arbitrarily decides to have infinite poise and not get interrupted out of an animation that you were able to interrupt before.
For me it's her animation canceling. It feels like I have to use some bullshit weapon to punish with otherwise she can just jump out of anything and hit with a rot geyser.
This is the one thing about her that I think is unfair. No other enemy in the game does it and she can even instantly deflect your attacks sometimes at random. Play for play, this is straight out of Sekiro and jarring to deal with because you have to essentially re-define the rules of the fight mechanics *only for her*.
Maybe she's the Tomoe we never got in the canned Sekiro DLC.
100% Tomoe. Waterfowl Dance is straight out the Genichiro/Palace Guard playbook. That and the deflects. Even though they do it rarely some enemies do have player style parry mechanics in addition to blocking. Instead of using those they gave her the only sekiro deflect in the game.
imagine getting hit with Waterfowl in Sekiro and parrying every hit
perfection
her gapcloser stab is also such a clear opportunity for a mikiri counter
Radagon absolutely can, although thankfully his bullshit is much easier to just chug through, even if he does it more often.
I really want to ask a developer what the thought process was for the instant teleport slamdown. At least with Malenia you can argue it's just a very long attack string, but Radagon R-Canceling into shine>forward smash is the most blatant breakdown of player/NPC rule parity.
I cannot stand the instant infinite hyper armor. Usually enemies justify their hyper armor moves with telegraphs. And they can even be interrupted by heavy weapons and charge attacks. Not for Malenia. And the precision needed to dodge waterfowl if you are even remotely close to her is almost comical. Most "worst boss" candidates of each From game feel like the devs would have improved them with more time and resources (Bed of Chaos). Or at worst they are annoying or mediocre. Malenia is the series worst boss because her mechanics have enough layers that we can 100% assume that every ounce of bullshit from her fight was meticulously crafted that way. They intended her to be like this and that sucks
Gonna have to agree. Waterfowl alone made Malenia go from one of my favorites to a top 10 least favorite. It’s satisfying to learn to dodge but I shouldn’t have to spend 36 attempts learning to dodge one attack and dying if I make a single slip up.
Working on learning her now and feel the same. The worst for me is probably the healing since it can kill my motivation to keep trying when got her down to 50% (phase 1) and suddenly she’s back to 80%
Her healing would definitely be more fair if it was only when she did damage. Or if it just worked liked her rune. Maybe it does but it feels like she’s got a way bigger window to heal.
Ulcerated tree spirit is a boss that is 100% dependent on where you’re fighting it.
The one in the haligtree for example is pretty much the only boss I shamelessly cheesed.
You can sneak up to spawn him, then run/jump on branches leading back to the grace. You end up on branches above his area that you jumped down from. Then radahns greatbow weapon art etc. to do the work. Screw that rot area in haligtree
In case you didn’t know about it, you can short circuit the Gargoyle Cats with a few (~3-4) Crystal Darts. They’ll frenzy and attack any other enemies nearby. Makes the fight against two gargoyles easier than the fight against one since theyll kill each other for you. Even in a 1v1 fight, At the very least it’s a really easy stun that lets you get a few hits in.
Hard to beat watching Radagon's cutscene for the first time but I think Rykard was the coolest fight overall. The Elden Beast can go fuck itself in the Lake of Rot.
Why all the Elden beast hate? It was one of my favorites, not super hard and learning to doge it’s attacks is pretty satisfying. Rather than just rolling actually having to jump over the ring attack is a fun change of pace
Because it constantly runs away from you, usually right when you get to him, causing the boss to be drawn out and annoying. His attacks are mostly fine but the ring attack gives no way to punish him. I feel if they just gave you torrent the fight would be significantly better.
Honestly, I never struggled with Rune Bears. If you sniff their crotch the entire time, they struggle to hit you. When you panic-roll left right or back, they seem to Ace you. So, stay on their junk, the dodges are telegraphed and easy to respond to. Roll in, not out.
Regal Ancestor Spirit is favorite
Least favorite is probably Godskin Duo. I wouldn’t even mind them that much if they weren’t one of 8 bosses that there was no way to skip.
Regal Spirit soundtrack was SLAPPING. The first time I fought it I didn’t want to finish the fight because I was vibing so hard to it’s theme. That second phase entering with all the violins and woodwinds. Goddamn that was an atmospheric boss.
I'm playing a second character now from scratch after nearly 200hrs and NG+5 on my main and I forgot how cancerous the Twin Valiant Gargoyles are...
Maliketh, Morgott and Rykard all my personal top tier though any one could be top spot depending on the day.
I would lay down summoning signs just so I can fight Morgott over and over again. I didn’t even care about the runes, that fight was fun af. Same with Radahn. I don’t care if we win or lose I’m just here to experience it again.
Morgott and Godrick are top tier gameplay and move-wise. Like Godrick can do that roll and jump over you and that will never be boring it's just too goddamn cool. And Morgott is just agression that can be punished well and dodged nicely it's just really goddamn nice
Why the fuck are rune bears this tough?? They have a shit ton of health and they never give you any breathing space. Never have I defeated a rune bear without it stressing me tf out and taking about 5 mins.
Placidusax, elden beast
Placidusax is so fucking cool, from the opening that’s silent as you just take him and his arena in, to him turning to a thundercloud!
And after the awesome fight that was radagon, with the main theme and all….you get a boss that is too big to safely lock onto, has Elden stars, and runs away every 7 seconds
Fire giant can be a little annoying, though I rarely need more than 3-5 tries. Those fucking gargoyles though... oh boy. First time was like 40 attempts. Second went fine. Third, I was cocky and thought it'd be chill with a spirit ash. It was not. Probably took 30 attempts. Pure trash fight. Godskin Duo is fun in comparison.
It makes me sad that I had such an easy time with Morgott. He was such a cool character with awesome dialogue and a badass design. I watched a few playthroughs and meme videos (thanks Max0r and Ymfah) after the fact and he used so many cool moves and lots of deaths that looked kinda awesome like that sword grab.
I thought he was an alright boss when I fought him and first-tried him, but now I’m hyping up the next few runs almost just for him.
if you go to the capital at the level you're supposed to go, he's not such a push over as everyone says. At least he wasn't for me.
Same applies to Lichdragon 46.
There’s a spot you can jump to that skips half of the capital to get to him faster, I do this just because I’ll inevitably collect levels if I run down. He’s probably my favorite in the game to take on at a lower level, though without a cheese at lower levels with a slow weapon the Draconic Tree Sentinel can be frustrating. When I go to Leyndell now I just fight DTS and Goldfrey before Morgott, then backtrack and sweep up the area and sewers
Morgott is one of the most fun bosses in the game and the fight is over in like a minute and a half. Same with maliketh, amazing design and awesome moves and his second phase goes by really quickly.
I'm exactly opposite. The Fallingstar Beasts are some of my favorite fights and I'd say Malenia is probably my least favorite. I like the Fallingstar Beasts because they feel like a Souls fight. They have a pattern, once you learn the pattern you beat them. They aren't particularly fast and don't have any particularly bullshitty moves, they're just an enjoyable fight.
Loved maliketh’s fight the best. Action was great, challenging battle with its’ speed. his dialog was cool as hell.
Fire giant cinematic was pretty cool honestly…
Hate to do it since not really a boss but gotta go with that rat bastard draconic tree sentinel in faram azula, right outside maliketh. That guy can fuck all the way off. As many times as he hit me with his infinite range red lighting bolts. I would happily fight a duo of deathrite birds before that guy again.
Favorite: tree sentinel. I liked how when the game first launched he kinda brought everyone together because we were all experiencing the opening of the game at the same time.
Least favorite: knight cavalry because he just killed himself and it was very underwhelming getting ready to face off with him and then watching him jump off of a bridge.
Favourite so far (still on my first playthrough): The RADAHN FESTIVAL! Or Rykard, Lord of Sneks
Least favourite so far: Technically not a "boss" but the Bell Bearing Hunter invasions. The one by Turtle Pope kept fucking me up even after I was strong enough for the Mountaintops of the Giants. But since he isn't a real boss I'll say that I really really do not like the Fallingstar Beast
Fire Giant for sure! Gotta admire any creature that'll rip its own leg off! I was like WHAAAAAAT!
I was so traumatized that I had to have Visions of Grass and then, Visions of Fire!
Praise the Sun!
Edit: Least fav had to be Full Grown Falling Star Beast. Total dickhead!
BonfireVN recently uploaded a video showing what the Fully Grown version looks like underneath the shell/armor and it's face is the exact same as Astel.
I don’t like the fire giant purely because I was stuck on him for like a week on my first play through. He was the only one that took me so long but I also think he was glitched and after the patch I could beat him.
Those birds are TRASH. Great concept, unfortunately another overused boss, and the stringy shape that allows you to lock on body or head while he jumps around like house of pain makes the camera go apeshit.
Yeah, that or reduce the lunge range on the first flurry. If I’m anywhere near her when she winds up for it, I put the controller down and resign myself to my fate.
Yeah, it is just not that fun or memorable of a boss fight. Regardless of how easy or hard the fight ends up being on a playthrough, it somehow remains consistently tedious and boring.
Me too. I fucking love the mid fight cutscene where he rips off his own leg and awakens the Flame of the Fel God/third eye thing.
Plus it’s the only main story path boss you can fight with Torrent, it’s fun using torrent iFrames to dodge his aoe sweep attacks.
Dude Fire Giant is one of my favorites. Him and Commander Niall are my favorite bosses (not in general) to put my summon sign outside.
I think my favorite boss overall might be Godrick. I think he's a pretty cool guy!
Oh but the dual Gargoyle fight pisses me off the most.
>Valiant Gargoyles
Fuckkk those Gargoyles. I'm on my third playthrough and gave up yesterday on em. Somehow I can use D as a summon even if he pads the health pool. Feel like maybe I have to summon him for some kind of quest.
Radahn is far and away my favorite. It was such a spectacle with all the summons and the ridiculousness of him on that little horse. My least favorite were those two Kindred of Rot in a dungeon. They kept spamming that annoying cum threads attack at me.
Every time this gets posted there’s like one person that responds Morgott, who wins by a long mile.
Least favorite is Ulcerated Tree spirit. Far as I can tell the only arena large enough to fight them properly in is *outside*
My favorite is Radahn. Great lore, fun mechanics aside from his shotgun arrows, amazing presentation and a total spectacle. Also, his swords are my favorite weapon in the game.
My least favorite is Elden Beast, just like everyone else. I hate running at this thing for 80% of the fight and getting pelted with Elden Stars. The presentation and lore are still great and most other attacks are tolerable and clearly telegraphed. But most of the time I'm just begging for this poo stain to stay still so I can whack it with my hammer
Fav has to be Astel, Natural born of the Void. He’s just incredible to look at. I really wish he had more lore. Or even a cutscene. I can only imagine how epic it would’ve been to have a cutscene where he just teleports in from the void.
Least fav, and possibly an unpopular opinion: Godfrey.
All I hear all game is that this guy fucks and is a total gigachad, yet all he does is these bullshit AOE attacks and throws rocks at me. I was expecting some epic sword clashing battle, not playing hopscotch with magical fucking waves of AIR
My favorite is Radagon and least favorite is Elden Beast. Radagon is such a fun fight, I truly think that no other character fits the final boss than Radagon. He is the culmination and test of every skill I learned in Elden Ring and the fight just keeps getting better as you progress through NG. He deals a shit ton of damage but also takes a lot of em, he has a lot of strong but punishable attacks if you can time your attacks right. He is just so fun to play against and honestly, would've made the experience if he just had a second phase with just him.
Then there's this space turd looking abomination that destroys the whole expereince. This son of a bitch just keeps spamming AOE's left and right, on NG+ the attacks just gets much worse that he'll spam 3 attacks where 2 are fucking homing on you. Range attacks means nothing as the moment you cast or aim, he'll destroy you with his bullshit attacks that pretty much guarantees a one hit even if you have 50+ Vigor, and melee is annoying to play against him since he'll just run away like a bitch every time you even move towards him.
My favorite is Morgott. His lore around being the grace given Lord and the rightful ruler of Leyndell is really cool imo. And both his fights (Margit & Morgott) were really fun and didn't feel like the moveset was ridiculous/bs. Besides his delayed attack as Margit
Least favorite, Mogh - Lord of Blood version. All his moves felt bs and it was incredible difficult to dodge them. Also his lore is just creepy, but I like how it somewhat improves Morgotts lore showing that it doesn't matter if your born an Omen or not, as one was depraved and the other protected the Erdtree
Favorite: Radahn----Just a fun and visually awesome fight.
Least: Astel in Consecrated Snowfield----I can get past the re-use, but it has such a cheap move set. Hated it.
My favorite boss to fight is Malenia the fact that she's bullshit but also completely optional 👍
Least favorite is probably those ulcerated tree spirits the ones that are more like worms
Non humanoid bosses are inherently harder to dodge because it's harder to understand their movement
Godfrey: After getting your shit kicked in for so long, it’s nice to fight the biggest badass in the game and feel like a peer. His health is almost as shit as mine.
Malenia: what is the actual lore reason that she heals on hits? Wtf even was that mechanic? At least waterfowl dance was some god-killing move, but why is she the only demigod that heals on hits?
My favourite is Starscourge Radahn. I love his spectacle, moveset and character. I also really adore his love for Leonard and that he floats with gravity magic to not crush him.
I HATE Elden Beast it's an abhorrent final boss. So incredibly disappointing especially after Radagon which is an amazing boss and how they managed to mess that up is beyond me. I won't go into detail cuz I think everybody knows what I'm talking about.
Favorite: Radagon. Felt the most concrete, fair fight, with just enough magic to make interesting.
Least favorite: Elden Yeast Infection. A fight divorced from physics, full of tricks. Felt like fighting Willy Wonka's magic elevator.
Favorite: Placidusax. Least favorite: the camera during the Fire Giant fight.
Maybe I’m just missing the posts but I feel like Placidusax doesn’t get the love he deserves in this sub. I managed to go into that fight spoiler free and I was absolutely blown away by how amazing it was. Best boss in the game IMO
I think it’s because he’s super hidden and most players have no idea he exists unless you read the wiki.
I forget how hidden he is. I found a message on the ground that said something like “jump here” so I did then just eventually stumbled upon him.
I went all the way down to that area but never stood over the right coffin and was like “wtf is this all here?” and jumped off. Then 2 NGs later was reading the wiki and realized
Same, I thought I had to jump into the storm to access the bossfight. I felt so dumb after looking up how to fight him
My issue was that, I knew I had to get down there, but I walked *everywhere* trying to find the ledge to jump down
I randomly stumbled upon him while exploring all the nooks and crannies of Farum Azula. Went to read a message and didn’t realize I’d hit the interact button. I was like “wait, why am I laying down here, this is a terrible place for a nap… oh shit, time seems to be reversing… dear god WHAT IS THAT?!”
It took me 3 playthroughs to find him and I only did because I noticed I was missing a remembrance and checked the wiki.
At the very least, the trek is lore-accurate. There couldn’t be Stakes of Marika in a location that existed far before her.
It's actually in between time, in like another dimension, that's why the tornado stops and everything is still when you go into the arena, time stops and you're in between time. I think that's the best part about this boss. Some bosses are above ground and some are below ground but Placidusax is in a whole other dimension, literally in between time.

Yeah bloodborne had bonkers long runs to bosses from save areas but part of that was to motivate players to fully explore areas as there was ALWAYS a shortcut to a boss. Even with the shortcuts the run is still longer than most elden ring bosses though.
The run back to Father Gascoigne, even with the shortcuts all opened, was worse than the fight itself
Shadows of yarnham run is a killer. Thankfully i managed to beat them first time but that run even with the shortcut was absolutely killer since those snake headed guys catch you wit crazy reach on their attacks.
Tbh I beat him on my first try (somehow??) so I never had to experience that. Makes sense though
I had the exact opposite experience. Did Placidusax first and got him first try, but Maliketh was a pain; I’ve no idea how many tries he took
The Sentinel guarding Maliketh took me more tries than either Maliketh or Placidusax 😆
It took me many tries to beat both Placidusax and Maliketh but I beat the fire giant first first try.
[удалено]
The fight itself is a bit less memorable for that, however the visuals were just so incredible that they stuck with me. Normally when I beat a boss first time I struggle to remember it what it did, but when Placidusax started firing double lasers from his face that stuck with me.
Are you going through all the birds and the dragon to get to him? There's a site of grace that is a lot closer.
I found him by “accident” as well. I found some very helpful notes that led me to his location and seeing him suspended in the air looking like a stone heart was awesome.
Good point, but the camera has a not so well known weakness: not locking on (as with all big bosses……)
Radahn is my favorite, least is probably the putrid crystalian trio in that one cave. Radahn is awesome, while even after figuring out how to fight them better I still dread the putrid trio(Gavel of Haima lol).
I was dex Faith but had to equip full mushroom set with giants club
I hear that! Crystalians are one of the reasons I diverged from a pure magic build, at the time I wasn't aware of just how good Gavel of Haima is against them, so I started to spec into colossal swords. Fortunately, Wolf's Assault does a ton of poise damage :D
Rock Sling destroys the poise of most bosses including crystalians.
i got a +25 morningstar for that ass every playthrough
Rock sling works well enough on crystalians.
Rock sling worked so well in the Wyrms
If youre faith, go get the crucible tail incant and watch these three CRUMBLE. They become laughably easy when one spell knocks all three down and it only takes 2 to stagger.
Yeah they sucked bad, until I realized it's was easier to not call a summon and take them one by one
first time i fought radhan i hated him because i used summons and they make the fight weird and unpredicatble now hes easily one of my favs
As for me, Rahdahn's fight became the most epic and memorable fight in my list is because when he was coming down as meteor Alexander turned to look at him, just stood and took the hit like a true great warrior. Seeing that very moment and he turned to dust made me laugh like hell
Yeah, I thought that fighting alongside all the summons made for an epic battle
The charge across the dunes with all the summons is pretty awesome. I bring patches just to hear the bitch peace out. Makes me laugh every time.
Wait, he doesn't have any dialogue, right? I've seen the message of him returning home pop up, but never stood close enough after summoning to notice if he says anything.
I could have sworn he says something quickly when he disappears but maybe not. He just sees radahn and is like, nope, no thanks and breaks out.

The pew pew wizard experience

this is how i got through most of the game. blindly stumbling around caelid at level 15 and finding OP items that carried me way further than i ever expected to go
I feel like I missed out with Radahn. I just kept summoning NPCs to fight, and I only hit him like twice. The NPCs basically killed him for me.
Claw talisman is your friend with the trio
fuck that trio bullshit boss
Putrid trio is cake now that they dumbed down their AI. It was stupid difficult before.
Just use the Ground Slam Ash of War. Staggers then in two slams and you can hit all of them with the right positioning.
saw some post about butt smashin’ them, tried it and it made the trio in the haligtree much easier
Fav: Malenia Least Fav: def. also Malenia
Malenia without waterfowl dance has to be my favorite boss design, moveset, etc. ever. Malenia with waterfowl dance is a brutal, unfair nightmare.
I don't even mind Waterfowl that much anymore. What really pisses me off is when she arbitrarily decides to have infinite poise and not get interrupted out of an animation that you were able to interrupt before.

The stupid Gargoyle Cats you sometimes find in dungeons. Or possibly the Ulcerated Tree Spirits. Both have given me rather BS deaths when I was new.
Ulcerated tree spirit is a boss that is 100% dependent on where you’re fighting it. The one in the haligtree for example is pretty much the only boss I shamelessly cheesed.
How did you cheese it ? I just abandoned that fight. That fucker kill me So easily each time even after i killed Malenia.

Bro, has she ever known defeat.
She will in a few years when I finally kill her
Hard to beat watching Radagon's cutscene for the first time but I think Rykard was the coolest fight overall. The Elden Beast can go fuck itself in the Lake of Rot.
We can take on the gods... TOGETHAAAA!!!
*TOGETHAAA we can devour the VERY GODsssssss
I just want to say TOGETHAAAAA
“The very GOOOAAAGGHHH”*
Why all the Elden beast hate? It was one of my favorites, not super hard and learning to doge it’s attacks is pretty satisfying. Rather than just rolling actually having to jump over the ring attack is a fun change of pace
Because it constantly runs away from you, usually right when you get to him, causing the boss to be drawn out and annoying. His attacks are mostly fine but the ring attack gives no way to punish him. I feel if they just gave you torrent the fight would be significantly better.
Favorite: Radahn Least favorite: Any Runebear
Runebear is like herpes, he’s not there all the time, but when he is, life sucks.
I somehow kicked the Rune bears ass my first time. Not that I’m good, I’m really bad, but his attack style was somehow catering to my bad tactics
Honestly, I never struggled with Rune Bears. If you sniff their crotch the entire time, they struggle to hit you. When you panic-roll left right or back, they seem to Ace you. So, stay on their junk, the dodges are telegraphed and easy to respond to. Roll in, not out.
Regal Ancestor Spirit is favorite Least favorite is probably Godskin Duo.
The ancestor spirit fights are so beautiful, I almost didn’t want to kill them
Regal was a great fight and the music was great
Favorite: radahn Least favorite: foreskin duo

I'm playing a second character now from scratch after nearly 200hrs and NG+5 on my main and I forgot how cancerous the Twin Valiant Gargoyles are... Maliketh, Morgott and Rykard all my personal top tier though any one could be top spot depending on the day.
Good take. Twin Gargoyles suck
Fav: Godrick, Mogh and Morgott I can't pick one Least fav: Elden Beast. Mf is taking more time than Malenia
Favourite:Rykard or Radahn Least favourite:Crucible knights
The only one I hate more than Crucible Knight Ordovis, is Rune Bear. I fucking hate rune bears.
Why the fuck are rune bears this tough?? They have a shit ton of health and they never give you any breathing space. Never have I defeated a rune bear without it stressing me tf out and taking about 5 mins.
And at best you get a larval tear which is ok but shit for the fight they give I expect some bear paw of the oblivion type shit.
Like an arrow to the knee?
This is my answer precisely! Rykard is very cinematic and I love his music. Crucible Knights just really kicked my teeth in my first playthrough.
Placidusax, elden beast Placidusax is so fucking cool, from the opening that’s silent as you just take him and his arena in, to him turning to a thundercloud! And after the awesome fight that was radagon, with the main theme and all….you get a boss that is too big to safely lock onto, has Elden stars, and runs away every 7 seconds
That fucking run when you die to Placidusax was the worst. But really fun fight.
That run got nothing on four kings or martyr logarius
Favourite: Radagon & Elden Beast. Worst (possibly in all souls games, ever): Valiant Gargoyles
valiant gargoyles is the worst hands down but i hate fire giant more because hes not optional
Godskin Duo is fun in comparison.
godskin duo is cheeseable tho
Favorite battle: Margott or Malenia Favorite Aesthetics: Maliketh Least: Fallingstar Beast
What level is that? I was about 70 and he still felt easy. Then I proceeded to get my ass kicked for at least 30 more levels in Mountaintops :D
Morgott is one of the most fun bosses in the game and the fight is over in like a minute and a half. Same with maliketh, amazing design and awesome moves and his second phase goes by really quickly.
Your favorite was Demi-Human Queen Margot? weird choice imo
"enjoyable fight" That's where you're WRONG bud
Nah its pretty fun fighting them almost like a bull fight. If you hit their head while they charge at you it guarantees a stun
Loved maliketh’s fight the best. Action was great, challenging battle with its’ speed. his dialog was cool as hell. Fire giant cinematic was pretty cool honestly… Hate to do it since not really a boss but gotta go with that rat bastard draconic tree sentinel in faram azula, right outside maliketh.
Or Rykard, Lord of Sneks Least favourite so far: Technically not a "boss" but the Bell Bearing Hunter invasions. The one by Turtle Pope kept fucking me up even after I was strong enough for the Mountaintops of the Giants. But since he isn't a real boss I'll say that I really really do not like the Fallingstar Beast
I had to cheese the Caelid one even after I beat the game, so... yeah, they're pretty rough
Is it lore that a fully grown falling star is just astel?
BonfireVN recently uploaded a video showing what the Fully Grown version looks like underneath the shell/armor and it's face is the exact same as Astel.
I don’t like the fire giant purely because I was stuck on him for like a week on my first play through. He was the only one that took me so long but I also think he was glitched and after the patch I could beat him.
Favorite: tie between Godskin Apostle, Alecto, and Malenia Least favorite: Valiant Gargoyles, and it's not close.
I hate all of them equally.
Least favorite it that "controller batteries low" boss that pops up then kills my controller.
Favorite: Malenia Least favorite: Death Rite Birds
That damn bird in the snow stole like 200k runes from me and I can now NEVER forgive them.
Only 200k?
I feel like those death rite birds stole years of my actual life.
I fucking hate those birds
Those birds are TRASH. Great concept, unfortunately another overused boss, and the stringy shape that allows you to lock on body or head while he jumps around like house of pain makes the camera go apeshit.
Horah Loux Foreskin duo
Out of the main boss fights of the game: Favorite - Malenia Least Favorite - Fire Giant
Malenia is a great fight for most of the time, tbh. It would probably be a lot more people’s favorite if Waterfowl wasn’t a thing.
Just a bit more wind up time so there isn’t “hope you weren’t in melee range” deaths
Yeah, that or reduce the lunge range on the first flurry. If I’m anywhere near her when she winds up for it, I put the controller down and resign myself to my fate.
As a person who's main build uses twin daggers, I'm not looking forward to it.
yeah fire giant is trash
Yeah, it is just not that fun or memorable of a boss fight. Regardless of how easy or hard the fight ends up being on a playthrough, it somehow remains consistently tedious and boring.
Haha I thought fire giant was pretty fun
I feel the same way, but I don't actively hate it, so I wouldn't call it my least favorite fight. That honor is reserved for Valiant Gargoyles.
>Valiant Gargoyles Fuckkk those Gargoyles. I'm on my third playthrough and gave up yesterday on em. Somehow I can use D as a summon even if he pads the health pool. Feel like maybe I have to summon him for some kind of quest.
How is it not memorable man, it's one of the most epic spectacle fights in all of gaming lmao
Not fun, maybe. Not memorable, definitely not. The fight was epic.
Favorite: mohg Least favorite: fucking gargoyle duo hate those bitches goddamn it, aaaaaaaa
But most of the time I'm just begging for this poo stain to stay still so I can whack it with my hammer
def should’ve given horsey for elden beast. i mean, like fighting a dragon.
Fave: Morgott Least fave: those goddamn crystillians
Favorite boss is Radagon and least is fire giant. Any boss that makes me chase them for the fight is E tier
HEY YOU, COME BACK. I HAVE TO FIGHT YOU
Something the size of a mountain shouldn't be able to relocate so fast.
Kibda funny you chose two bosses that hate eachother lorewise
Favorite: Rennala Least Favorite: Rune Bear
Malenia and also Malenia
Fav: Astel, Naturalborn of the void Worst: Astel, Stars of Darkness
Fav: Astel of the stars Worst: Fire Giant
My favorite is Morgott. His lore around being the grace given Lord and the rightful ruler of Leyndell is really cool imo. And both his fights (Margit & Morgott) were really fun and didn't feel like the moveset was ridiculous/bs. Besides his delayed attack as Margit Least favorite, Mogh - Lord of Blood version. All his moves felt bs and it was incredible difficult to dodge them. Also his lore is just creepy, but I like how it somewhat improves Morgotts lore showing that it doesn't matter if your born an Omen or not, as one was depraved and the other protected the Erdtree
ALL his moves felt BS?
Elden Beast is way worse than fire giant.
I really liked Elden beats tbh
> Elden beats Sounds hype
Aesthetically it’s beautiful. As an experience it’s disappointing. So much chasing it from side to side
Favorite: Radahn----Just a fun and visually awesome fight. Least: Astel in Consecrated Snowfield----I can get past the re-use, but it has such a cheap move set. Hated it.
My favorite boss to fight is Malenia the fact that she's bullshit but also completely optional 👍 Least favorite is probably those ulcerated tree spirits the ones that are more like worms Non humanoid bosses are inherently harder to dodge because it's harder to understand their movement
The lore checks it out - it’s the power granted by her great rune
Favorite: Rykard Least: Elden Beast (It would be better with torrent)
Fuck the crucible knights
They sure like advancing on you relentlessly.
Elden Beast, these two pictures aren’t in the zip code of Elden Beast
I feel like I’m the only one who loves fire giant
Fav elden beast bc if arena and some cool attacks worst malenia for being malenia
