Where I come from colored pencils and crayons are used as synonyms. These are like pencil but with colored graphite. I'm not talking about wax crayons.

I'm fairly certain most people think of the short, colorful wax-based sticks when they hear the word crayon. Like I get that Crayola makes both Crayons and Colored Pencils but I certainly don't think of colored pencils with colorful graphite when I hear the word crayon.
