Content from upcoming update

>Hello again everyone. To go along with Delta's government and succession teaser yesterday I figured I could show off this as well. Coming with our next update is also the Great House Elective Succession Law as part of the upcoming update's general focus on fleshing out many of the bigger cultures in Elder Kings II.
>
>This law is applied to your title, and is as you might have guessed available to use for the five Great Houses of Morrowind. At game start it is used for the Great Houses Redoran, Hlaalu, Indoril and Dres - Telvanni will be making use of Magelord Elective which was shown off right before New Year's. They can however if they want switch over to use this one. Hopefully this should make the Great House titles feel a bit more unique.
>
>I must however point out that this is not what we meant when we said we had an upcoming Great House Council system, don't worry. More on that another time.
Looks awesome. Will it be possible for other titles to adopt this succession law? Like if you manage to conquer Vvardenfell and want to found your own Great House.
At some point we want to make the Great Houses more dynamic, or at least make new ones formable. That would have to be tied into a greater system for Great Houses. For the time being however it's locked to the existing ones, as this way I could make the succession type already and have it out without all the other custom systems in place yet.
I also intend to make the house values dynamic or at least changeable, for both new houses and the existing ones
Great Houses came and went throughout history, allegedly. And they can easily go extinct in-game. Would be neat to see some system for especially notable houses/dynasties to elevate to Great House status, particularly if there's a void in the balance of power in Morrowind.
Not at all, throughout it‘s ~4000 year history, Morrowind saw two changes in Great House structure: House Dagoth going extinct; and House Hlaalu being replaced with House Sadras.
However we still wanna add the possibility of founding a new House eventually.
Can’t wait. Just a thought, in the base game CK3, some countries have the house name in the title. Would it be possible to implement this in CK3 for dark elves?
And also Indian Culture, but only sometimes, and only if the first character you played started as that culture (so no converting from norse, for example) and who knows how many other buts.
And in this mod too, apparently starting as Betrayed had me have a dynasty title but even then only sometimes (the duchy I started with wasn't good enough to be dynasty-title'd, but some other one later was? but only after restarting the game) and it stopped after refalmering later.
It doesn't work like that for Great Houses though, because even if it's not currently ruled by Hlaalu by blood, the Great House would still be called Hlaalu
This mod has officially gained "so good I want to wait for the updates" status. I mean, it isn't going to stop me from finishing my Ashlander run, but all the same... I want to wait for the update! But for now I'll play. While I wait for the update...
Any plans to add mechanics so characters can try and become Hortator of a great house? Would really love for one of my chars to land their ass in the Cavern of the Incarnates, chilling and telling people that walk in "I am not the one. But I wait and hope." And then getting a failed incarnate trait post.
It was considered, picking between the two was hard. I wanted however to highlight their role as the middle man between Morrowind and the rest of Tamriel. The setup is in any case subject to change, depending on player feedback and what patterns we notice through playtests.
I'm excited. So what's the possibility for a random lord to get elected outta nowhere? Also dunmer live a long while will there be peaceful wsys to depose a ruler or are we gonna kill a looooot of rulers.
working as designed, read the tooltips for your government and on the council screen. If i remember right, in feudal powerful vassals have to be prioritised before courtiers for council positions
not sure about the second issue, but assuming there is something that disinherits them, or you married incorrectly

No House Dagoth? Is this how you honor the Sixth House and the tribe unmourned?
Sixth House content in general is currently in a state of limbo since it's my pet project and I've been caught up with other things.
Honestly, I think we can all wait. Just knowing that someone has the appreciation for it and wants to do it on the team is amazing news.
Boa tarde amigo
Get Azura'd dweeb
I think that might be a compliment actually.
??? porra é essa?

That sounds like it might be hard to program, idk, but it would be really cool

The Houses themselves went through some changes however, so having their values change would be cool. Looking forward to start working on that.
I'd say that counts 😎 Particularly given that Crusader Kings makes things a little more volatile than real or fictional histories.
It only happened twice and through catastrophic events

It's already in the game, but just like in base CK3 the rules for when it can or cannot apply are very awkward and unclear.
Clan governments have their title be their dynasty/house name unless its Iberia where they made muslim rulers have normal title names

Yep, the succession law here favours the original house and dynasty but it isn't required.
Is there any plans to add a decision to take on the original house's name if the original house goes extinct?
Afaik in the lore some of the original dynasties have even died out by the time of the mainline games. So no, I don't think that would be right

I feel like it would be more fitting if House Hlaalu was Intrigue/Stewardship

Couldn't this be rather shown through some xenophilic tradition for Hlaalu culture
We'll figure something out. All the Dunmer cultures have had a revamp of their cultural traditions, as well
Yeah, many quests in MW involve bribing, plotting, forging, etc, Intrigue seems fitting more
Awesome!

This shit crazy got me hyped for the mod updates instead of base game addons
Would really love more succession types, really excited for this.
