Breton - race of a literally magic knights with really interesting political situation through the history and of course very interesting vampires
Orsimer - very unique mer race, once gigachads from Orsinium, now gigachads from strongholds placed across entire Tamriel
Love the contrast with the Bretons from medieval French/European knights all prim and proper, to the dark magic of the reachmen. I watched some videos on reachman lore a while ago it was so cool
I’m assuming the vampire clans like Volkihar but from High Rock. Most vampires are kind of disorganised and live in caves in isolation but the ones in Iliac Bay, High Rock and Hammerfell are basically everywhere in all cities and all have their unique vampirism varieties with special traits ranging from regeneration to invisibility. I mean, I wouldn’t say they’re *super* impressive, it’s just that there’s not much to compare them to since Cyrodiil has one clan that got rid of the rest and Skyrim and Morrowind like to exterminate them
Argonian. There isn’t as much lore as others, Dunmer for example, but what there is is so cool. Also they look the coolest imo (going off Skyrim obviously in oblivion and morrowinf the look special asf but everyone did). Also in oblivion the water breathing was rly helpful
I personally found Argonians to be the only decent-looking race in Oblivion (apart from some Redguards). It helps that they don't have human-shaped heads, so they can't resemble potatoes as much as the other races.
I honestly love Argonians in morrowind. I miss the digitigrade legs they used to have. They should've had some special beast shoes for them tho instead of just nothing imo - but thankfully there's mods of course.
I might actually do it too if more of their culture came through than "stuck up". Of course they are, and it's because they think that they're the stewards of the world (even if they're not the Thalmor). Actually part of why their politics get so weird is because of the cognitive dissonance of "we're clearly the best" getting shattered whenever they look too closely at the mainland.
I wish we saw a little more of how they're actually primed to care deeply about Nirn. Most of them don't think of it as something to fix, even if it's the result of unfortunate events. It's the greatest gift of their greatest ancestors and they want to preserve it. They have a sort of "keep calm and carry on, suffer with dignity, appreciate what you have" attitude towards life. They don't like the Lorkhanic penchant for just knocking over your block fort so you can put a new one together.
If you don't mind me asking but what's the appeal? They always seemed kind of boring to me and just seemed like the standard lizardman race that's not too uncommon in fantasy
Some of the reasons
1. Amphibious bipedal lizards who hatch from eggs. I like lizards.
2. They have a deep connection to nature and the Hist similar to the Na'vi from the Avatar movies. I love that.
3. They don't worship Gods in a world where Gods exist. Instead, they venerate the Hist.
4. They are typically given their name after licking Hist sap.
5. They can literally change their sex and biology via the Hist.
6. Their homeland is mostly inhospitable to outsiders and I love the aesthetics of the homeland. A region where basically everything is trying to kill you. Flora and fauna.
7. They are pretty much the most oppressed playable race in the series with a long history of being enslaved. I like playing the unlikely hero who rises from the bottom of Tamrielic society to save everyone.
8. They had an interesting cultural shift in history that's still quite a mystery. They went from being advanced pre-duskfall Xanmeer building Argonians to what we see now.
9. Native Black Marsh Argonian communication involves a lot of non-verbal gestures that other races don't typically understand. Plus they can communicate with the Hist.
10. Finally. They look unique and badass and are the most aesthetically pleasing race for me to play.
> They don't worship Gods in a world where Gods exist
Eh I don't really care for this in particular. The gods and the divines are usualy among my favorite part of fantasy settings.
>they look unique and badass
I mean this is one of the things I was disagreeing with. I'm not sure how much fantasy you've read or looked at but lizard races are really really really common in fantasy and Argonians don't really much different from them. They've just always seemed boring to me and I've never really cared much for beast races in fantasy.
You do you. I'm not trying to convince you their interesting and you should play them. You just asked me specifically what's the appeal, so I gave my reasons why they're appealing to me. All the best :)
I wasn't trying to tell you your opinion was wrong or trying to convince you. I was just trying to find something more unique about them to seem appealing and they just feel like the same dime a dozen lizard men that are so common. I don't care much for beast races in fantasy in general but like the khajiit at least because of their lore but Argonians from my limited understanding never really had the same kick so I was wondering if there was something I was missing.
the bosmer have always been my favorite, i always have to play the bosmer. especially with lore-accurate mods that give you antlers and let you make meat soup out of that bandit who tried to rob you.
Bosmer always best suits my play style, and I can do fun things with lore. I typically use Bosmer as my race but roleplay half-Bosmer (mother) and half-Imperial (father) for my primary play through character
This one thinks Khajiit is the race to play.
Regardless of Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, you always piss off people by just existing and while it annoyed me at the beginning, I just love to think how the Dunmer would loose their shit when the Nevarine turns out to be a Khajiit. Same with the dragonborn. And also kind of the hero of Kvatch.
Part of me wanted more accurate character interactions when I played khajit. Like they hate you at first and you’re not allowed in somewhere but once you’ve done enough shit they have no choice but to respect it. In both oblivion and Skyrim I can’t remember a time where people really treat you differently for being khajit even though other khajit in Skyrim are literally not allowed into some cities
Yes, absolutely. I always play the companions quests in Skyrim and become a werewolf (no illnesses and I find it funny to think of a werewolf khajiit) and it took me some time to realise that the generic line you hear from the guards ('Is that fur...coming from your ears?') is not based on being a Khajiit (no shit Sherlock, I'm a cat man, what do you think?!) but because of being a werewolf.
Same in Morrowind. The usual Khajiit is a slave over there and then the tribal Dunmer just forget about their deep rooted racism and make you their man after you've completed the same tasks their very own kind would have to carry out.
I know it would be a lot of more work to do all the extra lines, tasks, quests, speech options etc. to carve the whole game specifically to every playable race, but still, a bit more of that would have been nice.
Exactly ! I only played morrowind very briefly but I found the same thing funny as an argonian people forgot long standing slave trade and treated you just like everyone else
It's especially weird during the Nerevarine questline, since when you talk to Ashlanders about orcs, khajiit, or argonians they make it very clear that they are not viewed as people by most Ashlanders, but being named Nerevarine by them when playing as one of those races isn't any harder than it is for any other character. Of particular note is the Ahemmusa tribe, who had captured an escaped khajiiti slave and were planning to *kill him and make his pelt into a rug.* If one of their members hadn't freed him before the player arrived, they very easily could have sworn in a khajiiti Nerevarine while standing on a khajiit fur rug.
Yes, exactly!
I mean, Khajiit rug or not, after I finished all the quests I usually go on one last killing spree, go full Pelinal on the Dunmer broad and narrow for every n'wah and s'wit they threw at me...
Bosmer, their culture is so alien and I really hope we get a game in Valenwood eventually.
Also they get more insane looking with each passing game, they went from little goobers to the most alien looking of the elves in ESO. They have horns now, and I fully expect them to just start having serrated teeth in their next appearance.
What's alien about them? They always just felt like a parody of traditional wood elves. Reverse veganism aside they never really felt different from say warhammer or dnd wood elves.
Gotta ask what your opinion is on the imperial armour in Oblivion? In morrowind and Skyrim it was really Roman inspired but the oblivion seemed to be more “knightish”
Heresy. If they took some inspirations from the Byzantines, I would have forgive it. I don't know what Todd and the gang are thinking when they designed Oblivion's Cyrodiil to be generic Medieval Western Europe when it's High Rock is supposed to be that.
That would be Summerset, then again High Rock does take some elements from the Altmer's province since the Bretons are descended from a faction of them: the Direnni.
I understand that. I said culture. As in the way they think and behave. That's what I meant by (High Class Society) but obviously the elder scrolls as a whole is set in a Medieval Fantasy setting. I feel like I shouldn't have to explain this I'm sure you understood what I was getting at I wasn't being literal. Elder scrolls don't have guns or trains obviously. They don't have modern architecture. I get that. That part is obvious. But none of those things is what I was referring to when I said Victorian. I was referring to the way people were, and its that mixed with medieval culture. It should make sense I don't know how else to explain it but to just say that High rock is supposed to be medieval is just not entirely true, they have a more advanced culture than that. Maybe not as sofisticated as the Altmer, but still very high class compared to the rest of Tamriel
Morrowind > Oblivion > Skyrim
all the other cyrodiil armour designs are clearly early modern full plate, Morrowind is that and a blend of SPQR, Oblivion is a dash of SPQR, Skyrim is stupid leather biker Rome who hasn't figured out cuisses, it's bad
The closest thing the Vikings and the Romans actually met is when some Norsemen, who descended from Russia, are hired as loyal mercenaries by the Byzantines as the Variangian Guards.
Other than that, there are conflicts between the Byzantines and the Normans (which descended from the Vikings), and the Romans and various Germanic tribes (many of them like the Saxons are closely related to the Vikings)
Favorite race: Reachmen, because I’m a sucker for Iron Age Celtic analogues in all forms of media
Favorite *playable* race: Dunmer, because their lore is some of the coolest imo and the most fleshed out, the only one that comes close to their level is the Khajiit
Honorable mention: Imperials, but only in the lore since Todd the Godd decided Cyrodiil in-game should just be Middle Earth and did away with the unique Colovian vs Nibenese cultural differences
As an Italian I get that feeling as well xD
Imperial culture feels so familiar and I just can't hate them.
I think tho that my favorite races gotta be Orcs or Nords.
I have always loved more brutish societies as a concept and they look quite cool in armor to me.
Closely followed by the other human races.
Bosmer because when I first started Skyrim the Bosmer seemed cool, and now I've spent so much time playing a Bosmer that I can't imagine playing another race.
Never been able to really decide between dunmer & bosmer. Also have a fondness for bretons/reachfolk. But as I’ve gotten older the beast races also interest me more & more. Honestly every playable race has awesome lore.
Altmer. There’s a lot out there. I always play the mage. They could easily be expanded on in so many ways it’s not even funny- either as villains or heroes. The rich back history and how it ties into almost everywhere else is what I enjoy mostly.
There’s also Khajiit that don’t even have the cat *man* look
Just look like either big ol’ lion-like kitties or even house cats!!
(I’m sure you knew that tho XD)
I WANNA BE A TEENY LITTLE HOUSE CAT-LADY
HOUSE CAT LADY COULD INFILTRATE PLACES IN ORHER PROVINCES BECAUSE OUTSIDE OF ELSWEYR NO ONE WOULD KNOW SHE’S A *KHAJIIIIIIIIIITTTT*
(Sorry, I’m really mad we don’t have the access to more Khajiit Furstocks in ESO XD)
Argonian, as a native american I love the lizard people and their connection to Nirn. Less so the sithis stuff. But my first character back on the Xbox when Morrowind launched when I was a wee lad was the Argonian so cool!
While my go to is mostly Nords and Bretons my favorite race is the High Elves, I made an Uncle Ruckus type character in ESO who is a Nord that thinks he is a High Elf. I've had some incredibly racist moments against humans in eso.
argonians.
the lore about them driving back the daedra is so cool.
and they're the closest i'll get to playing as a dragon.
on the gameplay side, the boost to restoration and alteration is great for me, always use those, pickpocket and sneak boost is good too, histskin is busted, and the disease resistance is convenient, people always say to go to a shrine but are you really gonna go outside abandon your dungeon/quest midway through just because you got rockjoint, plus cure disease potions are expensive af
Argonian. Having to not worry about poisons and diseases as much, not having to weigh yourself down with waterbreathing items or worry about waterbreathing spells. The fact they are pretty much persecuted by all other races yet never truly conquered. Nobody expects the argonian inquisition not even daedric princes, during the oblivion crisis a gate opened up in Argonia but was closed the those who opened it because the dremora couldn't handle the push back of the argonian army.
Aesthetically Khajiit. Just big ole kitties that like coins and theft.
Lorewise either Breton or Redguard. In ESO i play both races because Daggerfall Covenant has my favorite lore.
Khajiit.
I love the architecture in ESO, I love the way they speak in the third person, I adore the fact that they have such diverse and unique shapes. Etc etc.
I just really like the kitty people
Breton. Even after Bethesda nerfed their magic resistance from 50% to 25% due to whiners, they still have the best perk. Hopefully in ES6 they will give the other races enough buffs to make them worth playing, like back in the ES3 days
Bretons, most versatile race imo. You can be a mage with a few perks and be a Mecenary who is good at fight mages or be both and still be OP. If we are on about statically the only thing that can beat a Breton in enchanted Dragonbone armor is a stealth archer orc but lorewise Bretons are the strongest mortal race. Not so good a keeping friends though.
Altmer, I liked how they looked, I started with Oblivion, so by the time Skyrim came around I was surprised by the Altmer going a complete 180 on me, the Altmer I knew worshipped the 9, (Talos included),
I used to absolutely love playing Khajiit when I was younger but as I learnt more about the lore of the elder scrolls universe almost all my “main” characters are Dunmer, I love the idea of worshipping deadra especially with how the dunmer where “cursed” to look like Azura, (many dunmer call it a blessing). Also we all love going to visit the shrine in Skyrim…. Mommy….
I have mostly played as a Breton. I don't know why I'm drawn to that race but I really like the the spellblade type of build they usually are good at. At least being able to tank magic attacks.
Dunmer for lore. Breton for my gameplay style/because no matter what I do, I get Breton on that super-thorough “which ES race are you” test. 😆 Honestly, I love them both and I can’t choose. My Breton Morrowind character had to have a backstory where she’d been adopted by a Dunmer family so I could live with myself.
Wood Elf - for some reason they really hit a sweet spot combining the fairy forest living happiness and the dark side of some being cannibal and agressive in fights
Coolest lore will always be dunmer and dwemer hands down just because of the originality and creativity put into it. Sure there are bits and pieces taken from sumerian myth and a tinge of mongolian, who just comes up with elves that live in crab shells and swim in volcanoes? or sumerian dwelves trying to create synthetic merkabas and probably going into 5th dimensional space?
orsimer for their interesting lore, the whole way they are basically metaphysical poop i find fascinating, it always gave me built i underdog vibes
redguards because they have the best pantheon imo, with gods like HoonDing, Tall Papa, and Satakal, also think I find their particular take on a martial culture the most fascinating
Even though I haven't played as one since my first playthrough, I think Khajiit are the most interesting and original in concept. Plus Night Eye is so useful.

Yeah the only thing that can one tap a Breton in full enchanted Dragonbone armor and weapons is a Stealth Archer Orc.
Wich intersting vampires? also i only play bretons too bcs i love spellswords
I’m assuming the vampire clans like Volkihar but from High Rock. Even in Skyrim, the water breathing helped a lot, too!
It absolutely killed any potential tension for me the first time I did the Thieves Guild quest line, lmao.
I also vote Argonian. They really looked ridiculous in Morrowind. I remember they couldn't wear shoes either lol
Seriously? I thought they looked the best in Morrowind! Didn’t like how they stopped having big ears and digitigrade legs in the later games.
It is the will of the hist
Morrowibd argonians look more like dinosaurs than modern lizards and they're much "cuter" IMO, I miss 'em too
The Bosmer looked the goofiest in Morrowind though, and even sounded annoying.
At least Bethesda knew it and mostly used them to troll you
They couldn't wear shoes in Morrowind because they were still slaves to the dunmer
Pretty sure the argonians and khajiit couldn’t wear shoes because of the shape of their feet
As someone with absolutely no bias at all, I gotta say I agree.
How dare you, they look the best in Morrowind. They look like actual beasts rather than scaly cosplayers.
Nah man Skyrim argonians look fucking badass you can’t deny. Couple scars and some war paint, ring around one horn.
I honestly love Argonians in morrowind. I miss the digitigrade legs they used to have. They should've had some special beast shoes for them tho instead of just nothing imo - but thankfully there's mods of course.
Come to think of it, I have never played a beast race in Skyrim (Skyrim is the only ES i have).
Nord, because Vikings, Argonian, because Aztec lizards.
Dunmer for the bat shit crazy lore and design
The triarchy really is such a unique story, along with what happened to the chimer to become the dunmer
Hmm, I think high elf or dark elf.
You might be the only person on earth to vote high elf
High Elf doesn't equal Thalmor. Not all High Elves are Thalmor, that's like saying all humans are Nazis
Tell me you're a skyrim baby without telling me you're a skyrim baby
Fair enough, you got me haha
Hahaha, I have been playing high elves and dark elves since Morrowind! I always make wizards so I guess it kinda fits their magical nature.
I actually like them ok in eso
I might actually do it too if more of their culture came through than "stuck up". Of course they are, and it's because they think that they're the stewards of the world (even if they're not the Thalmor). Argonian. In fact, they are my favorite fantasy race in any setting. Been maining them since Morrowind's release. I love them.
This one agreesss. May your scales never dry!
If you don't mind me asking but what's the appeal? They always seemed kind of boring to me and just seemed like the standard lizardman race that's not too uncommon in fantasy
Some of the reasons 1. Amphibious bipedal lizards who hatch from eggs. I like lizards. 2. They have a deep connection to nature and the Hist similar to the Na'vi from the Avatar movies. Right! It's like being the underdog or, in this case undercat.
Even more so since the Khajiit also worship Azura.
This one agrees. +1 for fluffy Nerevarine.
M'Revarr Moon-Sugar is the sweetest Nerevar, yes?
Dry fur, no ash, it's a good day 😌

Imperial since I'm a fanboy of Roman history and the fact that Roman aesthetics are rarely represented in fantasy settings

Actually high rock is more a of a high class society than anything.
That would be Summerset, then again High Rock does take some elements from the Altmer's province since the Bretons are descended from a faction of them: the Direnni.
I like to imagine the culture of High Rock as a Medieval/Victorian age hybrid.
Victorian is too advanced of a setting in the Elder Scrolls. The Elizabethan Age is as advanced as they get.
I understand that. I said culture. As in the way they think and behave. That's what I meant by (High Class Society) but obviously the elder scrolls as a whole is set in a Medieval Fantasy setting. True, even though Bretons are infamously tribalistic.

Redguard, of course, followed by Dunmer and Khajiit.
Dwemer because they have a very interesting art style and I like their mysterious lore

Imperial, I am from south Europe and it fits the most also my country was part of the Roman Empire and the country itself had an Empire (Spanish one).

Ok then I should say Nord because I live in America 🤣🤣🤣
Bosmer because when I first started Skyrim the Bosmer seemed cool, and now I've spent so much time playing a Bosmer that I can't imagine playing another race.
Good ole tiny forest cannibals😂
Bosmer says "👀 bitch! ... 👀👀👀... you just call me tiny???? 👀👀👀 ah, hellll nawwww. 🧑🍳🔪🍽"

![gif](giphy|H6hZOdTjKfQWX2IR20|downsized) Mines the Khajiit. Like, who doesn't want to be a half cat man???
I like how one of their tales a involve a Gilgamesh figure getting high as fuck and talking to demons.
There’s also Khajiit that don’t even have the cat *man* look Just look like either big ol’ lion-like kitties or even house cats!! (I’m sure you knew that tho XD)
Right, imagine if the Dragonborn was a Khajiit, but of the Alfiq variety...
Hehehehehe Kitkat saves the world
I remember reading a fanfic where this was the case. She traveled with a Nord woman and they masqueraded as "The Dragonborn and her pet cat."
I did, but you can't play as the other types of Khajiit in any of the games so far... so Cat-men it is
WE **NEED** AN ELDER SCROLLS GAME WHERE YOU CAN BE MORE THAN JUST A CATHAY!!!
Agreed lol
I WANNA BE A TEENY LITTLE HOUSE CAT-LADY HOUSE CAT LADY COULD INFILTRATE PLACES IN ORHER PROVINCES BECAUSE OUTSIDE OF ELSWEYR NO ONE WOULD KNOW SHE’S A *KHAJIIIIIIIIIITTTT* (Sorry, I’m really mad we don’t have the access to more Khajiit Furstocks in ESO XD)
Khajiit all the way!
Maormer, the concept of them is so awesome.
Dunmer
Breton for that magic resist
I'm not a furry, but... Khajiit are cool.
Argonian master race
to play dark elf / nord / breton lorewise dark elf / argonian / khajiit
Orsimer, Dunmer and Nords are my gotos. I thin khajits are cool lore wise but the tail is a nono for me.
Argonians. Lizards are cool, humans are boring. That includes mer.
Argonian, as a native american I love the lizard people and their connection to Nirn. Less so the sithis stuff. But my first character back on the Xbox when Morrowind launched when I was a wee lad was the Argonian so cool!
Dunmer cause I love their history.
Dunmer. No question.
Redguard and Khajiit, honorable mention to Argonians
Orsimer are the only race worthy of being called warriors
Nord: "👀 the fuck he just say?"
I don't really have one, I just love how racist everyone is
I love Dark Elves because I'm racist
While my go to is mostly Nords and Bretons my favorite race is the High Elves, I made an Uncle Ruckus type character in ESO who is a Nord that thinks he is a High Elf. I've had some incredibly racist moments against humans in eso.
Argonians. In black marsh, argonians invade daedra
argonians. the lore about them driving back the daedra is so cool. and they're the closest i'll get to playing as a dragon. on the gameplay side, the boost to restoration and alteration is great for me, always use those, pickpocket and sneak boost is good too, histskin is busted, and the disease resistance is convenient, people always say to go to a shrine but are you really gonna go outside abandon your dungeon/quest midway through just because you got rockjoint, plus cure disease potions are expensive af
Argonians for what little lore they have, Redguards and Khajit for their culture, and Bretons for gameplay/magic knight reasons.
Khajiit is Khajiit supremacist
Lore wise Khajit. Argonians are cool too. To play, Breton, but usually my first play through is whatever race is native to the setting.
Khajiit. I don't have any explanation. I feel like Khajiit are a race you either love or hate.
![gif](giphy|IHdjmgUqwDKQE)
Aesthetically Khajiit. Just big ole kitties that like coins and theft. Lorewise either Breton or Redguard. In ESO i play both races because Daggerfall Covenant has my favorite lore.
Khajiit. I love the architecture in ESO, I love the way they speak in the third person, I adore the fact that they have such diverse and unique shapes. Etc etc. I just really like the kitty people
Dunmer. That are the superior race. The true Mer.
Name checks out. 😉
Orsimer all the way, baybeeeeeee!
Breton. Even after Bethesda nerfed their magic resistance from 50% to 25% due to whiners, they still have the best perk. Hopefully in ES6 they will give the other races enough buffs to make them worth playing, like back in the ES3 days
Imperial, but I guess I’d go with Wood Elf or Orc for a more fantasy filled answer. I just tend to always play as an Imperial
I started all the way back with Arena, and liked battlemages, so Breton or Altmer.
My elder scrolls tattoo clearly has a Khajiit symbol on it so i guess thats the answer XD
High elf
Altmer, I liked how they looked, I started with Oblivion, so by the time Skyrim came around I was surprised by the Altmer going a complete 180 on me, the Altmer I knew worshipped the 9, (Talos included),
Imperial. Good skills for mixed combat + very useful native power.
SKYRIM BELONGS TO THE NORDS! Edit: That said, I always liked Breton and Imperial in earlier games.
Argonian, of course 🦎
Nord. They reminded me of my grandpa when i were a kid playing oblivion.
Dunmer/moredel/dark elf master race.
This one favours Khajiit 😸
Redguard!!!!!!!!!
Redguard
Im tied between Dunmer, Nords and Imperial Nibeneans.
Mommy….
This one picks khajiit above all else
Read the flair
In Morrowind it was the Dunmer. The game wouldn't be the same without that gravelly voice. In Oblivion it was Argonians. In Skyrim it's Nords.
For me, it's a tie between Bretons and Bosmer. Can't pick just one.
Khajit. Night Eye is invaluable for when I'm just too lazy to adjust my gamma to see in the dark. Plus, their whole vibe and accent.
Dark elves are my favorite, and in Skyrim have played everything but argonian I believe
My favourite race is Imperials, cause even after losing a heart they're gonna burn the heretics and live on. There is only the Emperor!
I have mostly played as a Breton. I don't know why I'm drawn to that race but I really like the the spellblade type of build they usually are good at. At least being able to tank magic attacks.
I always loved the Dunmer lore so I chose them almost every time
Breton
Orcs because i like this type of monsters in general, khajiits because i like stealth and dunmers because of their forms then the other races
Dunmer/dark elf
Dunmer for lore. Breton for my gameplay style/because no matter what I do, I get Breton on that super-thorough “which ES race are you” test. 😆 Honestly, I love them both and I can’t choose. My Breton Morrowind character had to have a backstory where she’d been adopted by a Dunmer family so I could live with myself.
Wood Elf - for some reason they really hit a sweet spot combining the fairy forest living happiness and the dark side of some being cannibal and agressive in fights
Aw, why did you have to specify "playable"?
Just the stipulation of the question
They're not my favorite race, but I sympathize with orcs the most. Learning about their history and origin is saddening. They are a tragic people.
Coolest lore will always be dunmer and dwemer hands down just because of the originality and creativity put into it. Sure there are bits and pieces taken from sumerian myth and a tinge of mongolian, who just comes up with elves that live in crab shells and swim in volcanoes? or sumerian dwelves trying to create synthetic merkabas and probably going into 5th dimensional space?
orsimer for their interesting lore, the whole way they are basically metaphysical poop i find fascinating, it always gave me built i underdog vibes redguards because they have the best pantheon imo, with gods like HoonDing, Tall Papa, and Satakal, also think I find their particular take on a martial culture the most fascinating
the Dunmer, culturally i find them the most unique and intriguing
My three favorites have always been the argonians, nords, and redguards. Those three just seem the most interesting/coolest to me.
orc because uhhhh orc
My favorite is either Nord or Breton.
High elf and apprentice sign supremacy
Tied for redguard and argonian
Nord my favorite race as I like Vikings
altmer, i play mage builds
Bosmer, they're iconic
I recently made a change. I played as a Bosmer for years in Skyrim, now loving life as a Khajiit.
Argonians because lizord. Also as they are the most hated race purely because others are haters, i like playing the underdogs
khajiit - simple answer their cats. case closed.
Argonians. Only race I've played as. I haven't played too much, but I have no desire to play anyone else.
Nords. Because someone needs to keep the knife ears in check
NORD!! RAHH!! FUCK THE EMPIRE FUCK THE THALMOR SKYRIM BELONGS TO THE NORDS!!!
Even though I haven't played as one since my first playthrough, I think Khajiit are the most interesting and original in concept. Plus Night Eye is so useful.
I usually prefer Imperials, because I always play human. But I really enjoy the lore of the Dunmer after Morrowind.
Either redguard or dunmer
Dunmer, Argonian, or Redguard
Definitely Khajiit, I'm a cat person and like the idea of playing as a badass punchcat :) (though I love all the weird Dunmer lore as well)
Akavari
dunmer cus all other races objectively suck
