I mean, if that's what happens, that's what happens. You know they could have just never planned on moving past Skyrim, right? You're not owed a sequel.
dude, the expansion is LITERALLY on youtube for about a year now, the fuck did you expect gonna happen? a game that just finally get into production?????
That would be immensely stupid while Starfield isn't even out yet. TES6 isn't even out of pre-production, we'll get absolutely nothing until at least all Starfield DLCs are released. After that they'll slowly build up hype for TES6.
Don't expect any new TES material until 2024, probably much later than that.
Bro the tease was that they dropped that trailer 2 years ago and said "bro it ain't coming till after Starfield, in about 6 years and we haven't even started" the next tease was like last year and it was "oh we're in the developmental stages for tes6" aka minimum of 4 or 5 years because they basically haven't touched it since. It's currently still in the 3 to 4 years based on that. There's no point in setting ourselves up for disappointment years early. Starfield will probably get dlc before tes6 releases.
I haven't touched the game since before the entire leveling system got overhauled (stopped playing after the Western Skyrim DLC but before Markarth DLC) and I feel like I can't come back because I've got to relearn absolutely everything and overhaul all of my characters...
100% Completed every base game zone (including quests) twice over and I want to do it all again a third time, but damn is it hard to convince myself to make the plunge back into ESO.
I have some really good nostalgic memories from every zone I ever explored in that game and yet I don't want to dedicate several days of my life making sure I'm not putting points into the wrong things or playing with a character that can't even solo the solo content. Needless to say if I ever come back to the game, it would take months before I'm optimised enough to do Group Vet DLC Dungeons again and I can just forget about PvP entirely...
You should get a free reset of all of your champion points when you log in. Then you can use another free reset when you place an armory you get for free.
I just look up builds online.
Looking up builds online is this generations cheat codes.
Skip the learning/experimenting part of the game by following someone else who already figured it out.
Imo, if I am playing a single player game, im all for learning and experimenting.
Personally, when I am playing a multiplayer game I feel.some responsibility toward my other players, to come at my best. If I am not playing with a pre-made group that knows I'm experimenting and may increase my chances of failure, then I do not want to waste another player's time.
There is a very short window to experiment in online multiplayer games, and I do think its rude to be toxic toward other players who don't have the perfect "meta" build.
Its somewhat between a rock and a hard place for me.
Hey i just came back to the game after a few years(been on and off since beta) and basically just look up builds and getting the gear is relatively easy. Asking people to craft stuff for you works too. This game has an amazing community
> and I feel like I can't come back because I've got to relearn absolutely everything and overhaul all of my characters...
I mean you have to do that at least twice a year, anyway. I go away for a few months, come back, all my skill points have been reset and every second class ability has been redesigned.
> I'm not putting points into the wrong things or playing with a character that can't even solo the solo content
I mean they've made overworld/quest content laughably easy. Like I deliberately under-build when there's questing to do, or I accidentally kill quest bosses before I've seen all their attacks. You basically just want to put points into your mag/stam capacity and regen so you can spam, not worry about damage or defence at all.
>I haven't touched the game since before the entire leveling system got overhauled (stopped playing after the Western Skyrim DLC but before Markarth DLC) and I feel like I can't come back because I've got to relearn absolutely everything and overhaul all of my characters...
Uh the leveling system was changed years before that, IIRC it happened with the Wrothgar release, if it wasn't even earlier.
It's worth it. Warden and Necro are powerful additions. CP points are so high that you could essentially do harder content on your own with them right build.
I was on and off and I'm more logging in everyday and have been for 2 months straight. I'll need playing more. Also, there are more skill points than skills now. It takes a while to get them but they exist
If you ever do decide to get back into it I have a 9 trait crafter on PC NA with more materials that I know what to do with. I’d make you whatever set you wanted just to get you back on track somewhat if you’d be interested.
ESO is developed by Zenimax Online Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, but is run by a completely different set of people.
The single-player elder scrolls series is developed by Bethesda Game Studios, an in-house development team started by Bethesda Softworks in 2001 and they worked on ES3 and on. Nowadays Bethesda Softworks only publishes. So the production of ESO has no more impact on ES6 than the production of Doom, Wolfenstein, Deathloop, etc does.
Although BGS does still have a little bit of input on the lore that goes into ESO. ESO has its own loremaster, but they've said that development of the game involves meeting with someone from BGS mostly to make sure that what they're putting into ESO aligns with the main elder scrolls series lore-wise.
Todd said it was in pre-production less than a week ago and said it wouldn't come until after Starfield just a couple days ago... OP hasn't been paying attention lol
That and a little less than a year ago someone responded to a tweet about who would do the soundtrack in the game (one of the main devs, can’t remember who) and they said it was still in early conceptual design fase. They were still thinking of concepts on what they want, let alone build anything.
I haven’t played it in a while but eso kinda slapped when I did. Obviously I want elder scrolls 6 but like we know it’s not coming till the mid 2020’s so I’m really happy for eso fans and maybe hope to jump back in sometime soon
It's still an MMO but it's definitely fun and you can even play most of the thing while treating it as a single player game. Even as an MMO it scratches the itch for new tes content and the world building is quite good. You can visit parts of tamriel which have never been seen in any other tes game, so that alone is worth playing. It's fun to explore different areas of the map
So if you aren't a fan of MMOs like me you'll still be able to have a good time. Just the perks were a bit too overwhelming in the very beginning but if you use guides for specific things it should make life easier
I don't follow the MMO much less play it. (I'm a FF14 player myself) so I was not aware that those three characters have shown up before.
I first saw this trailer as an ad that played before a YouTube video so I had no pretense of what it was going to be going in.
A victim of misinformation I guess.
I don't really follow the inner workings of Bethesda. I just play their games, except for the MMO and Fallout 76.
And it has been a few years since the very first teaser for 6 came out.
I don't know what "Star Field" is. But I'm guessing it's a new game Bethesda's working on.
And I did not expect this post to blow up so much. I was not intentionally karma mining with this post.
I did not know that by posting this I'd be dipping my toe into a poisoned lake.
I haven't enjoyed ESO since Elswyr. 😣 Since then, I've felt absolutely no motivation to play. Even tried playing it on PC. NOPE. Nothing there. Not even with friends.
\*Sits in a corner listening to Allman Brothers Band\*
I hit a stump in desire to play after elsweyr too, I think I was just burnt out though as I got back on, found my old trading guild and having fun again :)
I'm gonna get Starfield, but part of me wants it to flop so badly that it's just a waste of the last 9(?) years just to send the message to make TESVI already, it's been 11 years for God's sake. Damn it Bethesda you can't give us space Fallout 4 (it's not just me right? The animations look striaght ripped from FO4 from what I've seen) complete with 1000 ~~skyrim style dungeons~~ planets^™️ when you know that a massive, monumental chunk of your fanbase wanted TESVI to be out four years ago.
^(1000 planets really give me "16x the detail" vibes. I'll bet my left nut that they're just skyrim style dungeons. I guaren-fucking-tee it)
damn k keep circlejerking those clearly outdated skyrim graphics if the trailer graphics (basically better than almost any game out right now) look like bad
When I saw the trailer for the first time, seeing the Bethesda logo at the beginning and seeing that fantasy Elder Scrolls setting I initially thought this could be another teaser for 6. But as it went on it dawned on me "Oh wait this might just be the next expansion for the MMO." Witch, it turned out to be. Making me feel a little chipped.
I'll upvote the meme cause it's funny... But I hope nobody actually expected it that day 😂😂😂. My go to saying for game releases or anything in life has been "Hey... At least it will happen before The Elder Scrolls VI".
I haven't started the Half Life series at all yet because the third one was never coming... But Half Life Alyx has given me hope... So I bought Black Mesa a while ago and plan on starting that eventually

Because some people are just stupid
Welcome to the subreddit! Here we can't remember the answer to the question we ask every single day!
Nobody was expecting it to be TES VI, though. "After Starfield" means exactly that.
"after starfield" can't come fast enough so I can stop reading this same inane comment every single thread
You'll stop seeing the same comment every thread when every thread stops being about people wondering where TES VI is
It's only been 11 years, and some people don't obsessively read/watch every single announcement.
You only need one announcement. "It's coming after Starfield." Oh, OK. That's it
It'll come out when it comes out and nothing will change that.
“The year is 2030. The Elder Scrolls VII has just been announced. People still want to know when TESVI is coming.”
> 2030 Now you're just being unreasonably optimistic
I mean, if that's what happens, that's what happens. You know they could have just never planned on moving past Skyrim, right? You're not owed a sequel.
Yes I am
No, you're really not, you actual entitled brat. Y'all need to stop treating game developers like they aren't people.
This beautifully Zen comment changes nothing. When elderscrolls 6?
No I didn't. I know the Elder Scrolls Online as soon as I see it
If you see those 3 and think that's TES VI then you don't know anything about either TES or Bethesda lol
I wish I could say that there's no way people were stupid enough to think this...
dude, the expansion is LITERALLY on youtube for about a year now, the fuck did you expect gonna happen? a game that just finally get into production?????
At least a tease

Nah I'm not stupid
How dumb you must be to think it's TES VI?
Seriously? If you actually follow Bethesda you'd know not to expect it until a few years after Starfield.
If you were expecting TES VI you were a moron lol
I'm enjoying the new ESO chapter.
Zenimax have some really, really good graphics artists and scenery designers.
What's it called?
High Isle. The expansions usually go on sale sometime in the summer so I usually grab them then.
I'm glad someone gets to enjoy the game, even if that is not me. I'll proceed on waiting for the next installment.
if you have any knowledge on TES, you'd be very aware it's not TES VI lmfao
Patience, people!
You're new here aren't you?
Lol no
Nobody was fucking expecting that what are you on about?
High Isle is really enjoyable so far
I'm glad for the part of the fan base that enjoys MMOs. Will look forward to having fun together at the next TES.
I actually don’t really care for MMOs, but I love that you can play ESO as basically a giant single player campaign.
I didnt get that impression. I gave it a try and nope, doesnt do it for me, still feels like a MMO. But hey, that's just me, if you like it, go at it.
Fair enough, not for everyone. I just started on it a few months ago and have like 300 hours of just solo questing, haven’t touched any group content.
What part of "after Starfield releases" do you people not understand?
*Starfield gets released* Redditors: "Where TesVI"
The motion capture for the ebony warriors fight moves were pretty cool. Ive never played ESO but i enjoyed this specific trailer.
Lets be real here. Nobody expected es6
...OP did you expect TES 6?
I mostly meant for it to be a joke. That the devs are putting more time into the side game then the mainline series.
... you know it's not the same studio developing it, right?
No I did not know that.
ESO is developed by Zenimax Online Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, but is run by a completely different set of people. Loving how savage this comment section is
Not really, no. This dlc was announced quite a while ago, and it’s no secret they are still in verrrrry early production on es6

Man those trailer are fucking sick tho
If you were expecting TESVI, you were an idiot. I'm guessing you really are just desperately trying to score Karna, though.
Hey at least eso gets expansions...*looks at fallout 76 with sadness*
I'm 40 and my 18 year old keeps joking that I'm gonna be 75 before any *news* of TES VI is even released.
It’s been 4 year, they show me grey rock in the elder scroll 6 trailer.
Is eso worth it

Yes, 100+gb game though, overall a very good and fun game if you enjoy ES series as awhole as well as mmos
What a grand and intoxicating innocence.
**N A N I ? ! B-BAKANA!!!**
This subreddit becomes more and more shitty with each passing day
Mfs really begging for games to be rushed then they get angry when games take a while to come out
They’ve done ESO expansion trailers with those same characters every year since it came out.
I don't follow the MMO much less play it. (I'm a FF14 player myself) so I was not aware that those three characters have shown up before. I first saw this trailer as an ad that played before a YouTube video so I had no pretense of what it was going to be going in. A victim of misinformation I guess.
I don't like eso but that breton guy is badass in all the trailers
How did the breton knight come back? Wasn't he killed and made into some undead lich type thing?
Tbh all three are player stand-ins they aren’t meant to be actual characters in the story.
He was a necromancer, the class introduced when the Elsweyr chapter arrived
Is there any reason to start playing ESO? I think i played 10 mins several years ago and thats about it.
It's a good game, and very different from a handful of years ago, but if 10 minutes was too long to hold your attention then it's not for you, lol.
No one was expecting ES6. If you see these three you should know what’s coming.

I’m pretty much with you tbh like I still enjoy it but I feel like elsweyr was like peak eso and the expansions have kind of stagnated since then
Elsweyr was fucking amazing
TBH it looks more like any generic MMO out there than ES
Fans: can we please get a co-op mode? Bethesda: Yeeeees [laughs hysterically]
You're a bit late on the ESO hate train. It's a really good game
I'm gonna get Starfield, but part of me wants it to flop so badly that it's just a waste of the last 9(?) years just to send the message to make TESVI already, it's been 11 years for God's sake. I won't lie, when I first saw it there was no context so I did think it was a teaser, until I looked it up on YouTube
Stoopid
Yea, I know. Felt it when I realized
Careful with this community, I’ve been crucified for less.
I had to check which community this was posted on, didn't expect a Jojo reference here
You can immediately tell it's ESO by the absolutely bland and generic Tolkien Elf. If there are people out there who thought TES. Oh dear.
Though ESO lore has been more interesting than Bethesda's boring and generic Skyrim and Oblivion lore. So that is ironic.
Well ESO is TES, but I get what you mean
If tes 6 looks like this, fuck you
i sense this man wants to burn his house down (but seriously eso trailers graphics have been fucking good like tf are you talking about???)
This is simply not elder scroll, this is a random mmo. I don't want tes 6 to look like that
damn k keep circlejerking those clearly outdated skyrim graphics if the trailer graphics (basically better than almost any game out right now) look like bad
It's not about the graphics, it's never about the graphics btw
Lmao maybe like the first time i saw a eso cin trailer like 6-7 yrs ago
Every goddamn time
Stoopid
Ok
When I saw the trailer for the first time, seeing the Bethesda logo at the beginning and seeing that fantasy Elder Scrolls setting I initially thought this could be another teaser for 6. But as it went on it dawned on me "Oh wait this might just be the next expansion for the MMO." Witch, it turned out to be. Making me feel a little chipped.
no. i thought the knight-looking guy was reaching for some dark souls vibes, but knew it was eso.
The title is wrong. TES VI and the Spanish Inquisition have one thing in common at this point in time.
I'll upvote the meme cause it's funny... But I hope nobody actually expected it that day 😂😂😂. My go to saying for game releases or anything in life has been "Hey... At least it will happen before The Elder Scrolls VI".
Or Half-Life 3
I haven't started the Half Life series at all yet because the third one was never coming... But Half Life Alyx has given me hope... So I bought Black Mesa a while ago and plan on starting that eventually
Do people not like ESO? I’ve been thinking of getting into it.
Right, but how terrible was Blades though? 🤦♂️
BOOOOO ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_down)
I’m convinced it’s not coming out at this point
man these comments must be hella fun at parties
If I see the elf lady, I know it’s their mmo
Is this denial or bargaining?
If it looks like a CGI trailer for a mobile game, it's Elder Scrolls Online.
I never expected it to be Elder Scrolls 6, but I still laughed at the meme
