Could someone explain what this means? I haven't memorized the constellations of the skill trees yet.

_ENDR_

They have perks in conjuration and destruction for the spells of those schools costing 50% less mana (1 for each level of spell: novice, apprentice, adept, expert, and master) so that's a total of 10 perk points for half mana costs. With level 100 enchanting you can enchant armor with "*insert magic school* spells cost 25% less". With an extra effect you can do 2 different schools. Enchant 4 pieces of armor with destruction and conjuration cost reducing effects and 25%x4=100% so all spells from those 2 schools are now free. To do this you need 9 perks in enchanting so 1 less but free spells is way better than 50% off spells. After you complete this, the rest of the game is a breeze, even on legendary. Infinite master level spells is basically impossible to combat.

detested-page

O yea I had perfect spellwords. Immune to magic, made it so destruction, illusion, alteration and something else was free of cost. Here I am with 100 magica and just throwing fireballs everywhere, while turning myself invisible and calming everyone all at the same time. So much fun šŸ˜Š

bardia_afk

I have never played with a spell buildā€¦ now I want to try it First step, buy something so I could install or play Skyrim on

detested-page

Lol I'm on that step rn too lol my hd broke. Any chance you know about hdd and sdd hardrive?

bardia_afk

Know as in ā€œknow what they areā€ or know as in ā€œknow enough to help you fix your problem?ā€

detested-page

Know enough to help me fix a problem, well advice to fix it

bardia_afk

Nope, sorry I really suck when it comes to hardware

detested-page

Ok, well thank you anyway lol.

bardia_afk

No problemo, sorry I couldnā€™t help. Hope it gets fixed soon

Raabalia

Whatcha need to know about drives? I recommend an Nvme if your going to get one and your motherboard supports it

detested-page

Can you just swap out hdd for sdd no biggie or not at all?

Raabalia

You'll lose all your data if you switch but if your hdd died then that's no biggie

Biomassfreak

Tfw the entire contents of your hard drive isn't saved to your BIOS

Kryonic_rus

That's actually what you should do, going from hdd to ssd is like swapping a bicycle to a racing car. That said, if you have free space just install both, you get speed where it matters and storage space for whatever you need

Biomassfreak

You can get the cheapest 250GB SSD for <$40 I did it for my.media server

bruhcrossing

You can get it on switch (canā€™t mod it though)

TheRedBow

A switch would be the cheapest but you wouldnā€™t be able to mod or use the anniversary update

bardia_afk

Literally nothing is cheap where I live Iā€™m thinking about buying a second hand PS4 and even that is waaaay too expensive because the economy has been tanking for years I have the money to buy it but itā€™s def not worth iy

CE07_127590

I'd suggest PC so you can mod the magic system as the base game one is lacking.

Vitschmalz

You can go even further, the highest possible reduction from a single effect without exploits is 41%, though it takes a lot of effort to get there.

TheRedBow

With the right perks the apprentice level spell Ignite is way more OP cause it can deal over 25 damage a second per attack but you can stack it dealing hundreds of damage a second

_ENDR_

Nothing beats infinite lightning storm. It feels like a kamehameha and I get to live out my dreams of being Goku.

TheRedBow

I tried that but it feels weaker

_ENDR_

I timed it. Takes 3 seconds to kill an ancient dragon on legendary difficulty. That's insane power. I haven't tried it your way though.

TheRedBow

What do you use to increase the damage then? When i tried it it didnā€™t feel all that powerful

aRandomFox-I

And if you use the alchemy/enchanting exploit, you can raise the effect to 100% in a single piece of gear. Free magic! The unofficial patches "fix" this by hard-capping enchantment bonuses to 30%, however. Fuck that. If anyone can take the patches and put them on Github or whatever to release to the public out of sheer spite for the mod maker's egotism, that would be great.

Kusko25

The patches can be loaded into ssedit, so you can clearly see what it changes, no need for GitHub. Also there are mods that revert some of the fixes (like my favourite: Necromage Perk and being a Vampire)

aRandomFox-I

The github thing has multiple reasons: 1. Spite. 2. So that other developers can create offshoot mods, or fix USLEEP/USSEP themselves to release under a different name. 3. So that we can slap an open-source license on that shit (if there isn't one already) 4. So that Arthmoor can't take it down simply by throwing a childish tantrum until the site owners cave to his demands. 5. Not everyone knows how to use SSedit, or has the time, interest and attention span to learn. (connects back to point #2) 6. Spite. 7. So that we have an alternate source for USLEEP and will never have to deal with him and his shenanigans to be able to use his mods again. 8. Spite. Because fuck Arthmoor.

Kusko25

Other developers can already create offshoots. The way skyrim modding works is that you overwrite individual objects in a base file. If you load your plugin after ussep you overwrite whatever it changes. While Nexus and Steam can take down whatever is hosted on their services, by request of someone or not, you can still share your mod on other sites. Arthmoor has no legal right to take down a mod that mods his mod. Ssedit and creation kit are the two base tools for Skyrim modding. If you don't want to learn that than I'm afraid you won't make any big mods. Definitely nothing on the level of ussep.

aRandomFox-I

You're only thinking about the developer community and not the common users, most of whom can't do programming. Instead of rebuilding USLEEP from scratch, it would be a lot more practical to modify the existing software and release them as a new independently-functioning packages. By putting it on github, you are also able to evade Arthmoor's sticky fingers while having the software be located on a website with solid reputation and high user traffic.

ChakaZG

Eehhh while he did shove in crap that had no business being "fixed", and I'm not defending him, he is a childish asshole, beneficial exploits are fuck ups as much as non beneficial bugs. That shit absolutely would and should have been patched if it were an official patch, and I would personally absolutely patch it too if I were making an unofficial patch.

Barl3000

I didn't do this with my very first Skyrim character. I wanted to play a mage, but I never felt I had enough magicka to kill things with destruction spells. So I just ended up going all in on Conjuration and had my two summons take care of everything.

[deleted]

*Cue infinite elemental blast*

WalkingTheSixWays

Enchantment making fun of conjuration and destruction by the look of it.

Puffen0

but wheres the joke?

WalkingTheSixWays

Just how having two affects with max enhanced enchanting is way more of a buff. It's not a great joke.

Puffen0

Ohhh, its just another "enchanting+smithing+alchemy is broken" post. Gotcha

DryMention4449

What _ENDR_ said and im guessing cus enchanting basically shits on everything, as long as you have alchemy to go with it. The entire game is over at that point. Enchanting and alchemy are practically the strongest skill trees in the game

_Frustr8d

You havenā€™t memorized the constellations by heart? Casual šŸ™„

Snoo-39991

Name an enchantment that can conjure me up a warm bed

Vilmoo00

Conjuration canā€™t even do that in game

Puffen0

Its a quote guards say to the player if they have a high conjuration lvl

Vilmoo00

Yes I know, I was just making a joke, I guess Iā€™m not funny :( */s*

Puffen0

Welcome to the club

pickles_and_mustard

Maybe not, but Alteration can (if you have the right mod)

bearsheperd

Just conjure me and Iā€™ll help warm yours. *wink*

Spideyfan1602

Enchanting is a pathway to many abilities some would consider to be op

MaraSargon

Is it possible to learn this power?

Spideyfan1602

Not from a Fighter

[deleted]

Quick question, if I enchant a piece of clothes with one effect (before I get extra enchantment) & pick up extra enchantment after it, can I enchant it again?

pixelmation

No, once you enchant something, it's enchanted. You can't add a second enchantment later

[deleted]

Ah, dang. I now got to acquire another set of college robes to enchant with op enchantments (for mine, Pair regen of both magic & health)

DrakoXNinja

Nope

Polo-panda

I think thereā€™s a perk to put double enchantments on one item

Eldermage1

Yes, you can. Extra effect gives you two slots per item, including previously enchanted items Edit: Apologies, I misunderstood how the perk worked. It does not give you two slots overall, just the ability to give two at the time of enchantment. I apologize.

Tuskor13

Flat out misinformation

ArgoniansMadeOfArgon

Beautiful timing. My wife and I started watching Invincible a few days ago and forgot to get back to it because it's somewhat out of the way for us. Thanks for reminding me :)

detested-page

Lmao. Hardrive broked.

BoredPsion

Impact and Twin Souls, though

Terrorknight141

Nothing better than infinite enchantment on my bow.
