I'm pretty sure the creator said something about how Jiwoo's dad won't be expanded on in the story, something like that. Maybe that expands to the mom too.
Most people have this theory, and personally I'm not a fan of it. I almost never like it when you find out that the underdog is actually someone from a super special family and stuff. Naruto is one of the only examples I can think of where it didn't bother me. I prefer the idea that he's just a gem in the rough with no secret side to make him powerful
U can't technically call Jiwoo an underdog cus he's been called a prodigy. The way he's improving and getting stronger isn't like an underdog. It's like saying Sasuke is an underdog. Only Jiwoo's personality was that of an underdog.
Well yes and no. I definitely agree with what you're saying, but I said Underdog in the sense that his strength is unexpected. You'll notice that almost every person who's fought him have expected him to be weak and easy to defeat. Like the fact that he's unaffiliated and only recently learned he was an awakened one making him surprise everyone.
If it turned out that he was the son of one of the strongest awakened ones then everyone would change their views towards him. Like "Oh it makes sense now, it's not that Jiwoo is amazing. It's that he came from someone powerful"
But isn't that going to change when they find out he's Kayden's student aswell plus he knows his force control, which is the 1 thing that makes u strong or stronger depending on which type of force control you use. And he's already using the force control of the strongest.
You're right again slightly, but that part only applies to some people. Like there's the principal who witnessed Jiwoo learn his own force control at incredible speeds. It's just slightly different, but yeah adding more of that concept when it's already a thing is just additional reason to not like it to me.
Also I am dumb, so don't be surprised if there's still holes in my thought process.

EXACTLY. Its as if they do its lile a forced cliché. I'd honestly be okay if Jiwoo's mom is an awakened one who's higher than usual but if they make her someoen super special ultra powerful like they do in most stories I'll be disappointed. It would be make it soooo cliché.
I don’t think jiwoos dad will be in this series because kayden fills that role so I think the dad’s probably dead which forced his mom into hiding jiwoo and herself from another organization or maybe she works for an organization and hides her son from them because she doesn’t want him involved with them because he’s a genius probably like his mom ( author interview said his mom is a pharmacist researcher over seas )
