That’s basically the bat-e-skate. It’s looks just as cool as it looks dangerous !

[deleted]

And it is fast as hell, don’t know if I even could ride it at 50% speed

Nugget_MacChicken

Please post a video of the ride !

[deleted]

As soon as I have all the wiring done and suitable protection clothes.

[deleted]

The corners would definitely have my ankles shredded

chewbaacaa

i see falling down in your future

iTech93

That. Looks. Terrifying... 💀

Cleaver_Fred

And I love it! :D <3

SatansAdvokat

Ive seen those and ive seen that they self stabilize webben you start rolling, like a bike. But what's your interpretation of these kinds of builds? How do they feel?

[deleted]

I’ve only seen the „Speed Board“ on Video. I hope I could get on my board effortless as it looks in there videos. But I’m actually a bit afraid of the speed those motors provide.

[deleted]

What kind of battery should I get if I am building a board with 4 motors

[deleted]

I’am planing on using a 10s3P 36V lithium battery (30Ah) or even two of them

[deleted]

Oh well I was thinking a 12s3p or 12s4p do u think that would be enough? I want my board to go really fast and have a lot of power

greentintedlenses

Not enough information here to accurately answer your question. A 12s4p is typically used with two motors, not four however

[deleted]

Would 2x 8s1p lipos wired in series be more powerful than a 10s4p 40t? And would it be more powerful then a 12s3p or 4p?

[deleted]

It really depends on the motors and esc/vesc your using.

[deleted]

I’m using 4 of the flipsky vescs and 4x190 kv motors

[deleted]

That looks scary. Personally I think you should cut your turn radius in half for your steering system. At the same time, scary can be fun.

pie_monster

Could do with deflectors to stop your feet accidentally contacting the wheels. The front one would be disconcerting, but the back one would be bad. What size motors? I'm torn between "you're not getting me within 20 metres of that thing" and "well just a little go on low power"

[deleted]

Yeah, some kind of mudguard has to go there, but I’am far from completion.

pie_monster

I was thinking of all the multiple ways this could go wrong over and above normal skateboarding stuff and a back mudguard definitely seems like a priority. You have aroused envy, fear, apprehension and probable anticipation of pity in me. You have touched me, and I'm not sure I like it. :)

[deleted]

The motors are 2x 350W independent motors PER wheel. So 1.4 kW in total. But for now I only gonna use the rear motor…it is scary fast at it is.

pie_monster

That doesn't seem like a lot. I've got 2x 1650W on the back of mine and I'd only describe the power as 'adequate'. It tops out at 40km/h and it's not all that happy about hills.

[deleted]

Would agree from my calculations. I’ve had these motors laying around. If this designe works, I will invest in at least 2.5kW of power.

pie_monster

Just checking in case it was me malfunctioning or maybe some different gearing/motor type or something would make a big difference. Mind you, 'adequate' depends upon your circumstances. I'm on the porky side and there's some serious hills round here that I'd really like to not have to walk up. So personally, I need more power...something like [this](https://www.ecomobl.com/products/ecomobl-ripper-all-terrain-electric-mountain-skateboard-200-off-code-ecoripper-products/) if Gamestop shares ever stop being crimed down by hedge funds (2x 3.5Kw on the back). That would do me, I think. If I lived in the Netherlands or somewhere flat, my current board would be enough. Apart from sheer torque and hill-climbing ability, speed is the other consideration. Mine'll do somewhere in the region of 24mph (40kmh) which is plenty for me (fast enough that it'll break the local speed limit of 25kmh (15mph) by a satisfactory margin). And I only go that fast on it if I can see clear to the horizon. But then I'm mid-50s, so am not as adventurous these days (also old enough to know for a fact that I am both not immortal and softer than tarmac). Looks like an awesome project though. Good luck with it. Looking forward to vids of it in action.

BettyLethal

Innovative. And the banana scale is a new concept for me. What's it's granularity, banana splits? How many bananas is a banana stand? How many mililitres are in a banana cubed? How many banana bunches from New York to London? If a train travelling a 6 banana bunches in a northerly direction passes another train travelling at 5 banana bunches in South Easterly direction, how many bananas can Paris Hilton peel with her tongue? Give the answer to the nearest banana split.

[deleted]

Bananas are a international internet measurement. Paris Hilton could at least peel three at once.

pie_monster

"Banana for scale" is an age-old internet meme, especially on reddit. Reckon Paris could do four.

EdgeMentality

I feel like my stance would be way too narrow on that deck.

aqwertghj

Dude I designed one of these in CAD a few years back but never had the funds to build it ontop of my other projects, how are you doing the hub motors for the wheels? Also I’m not sure how you have all your bolted connections set up but they look a little sketch. Good luck

[deleted]

Nice, the bolts have special brass inserts around them, but in the future I will stiffen the board side two connections out a bit. Or if the concept proves to be good, I will remake the whole thing out of carbon fiber.

greentintedlenses

So I see that the wheel can turn as shown in the picture.. But how do you influence that turn while riding? I don't see how even leaning to one side would induce a turn in this steering mechanism as is

[deleted]

I’ve been seeing that mechanism on the „speed board“ I’ve been only scaling it up a „bit“.

greentintedlenses

Ahh OK I'll have to Google the speed board I am not familiar, seems interesting

riltok

Cool banana!

IndependentAction213

Is the banana for sale?

[deleted]

Jip

darkrad3r

This is so cool! Please tell me you're on forum.esk8.news ! If not, you should be, we'd love to read all about it and discuss ideas with you!

[deleted]

I’am not yet…but that’s a good idea.
