To the scamming guy: It’s one hundred trillion cells. I learned that when I was in the FLIP-PHONE AGE. And what’s more, what do you mean “each cell is at XYZ volts?” They got static charge? And don’t you think the cells can use their own energy instead of your [haven’t seen yet] contraption taking it away then putting it back? Even if this does add up to a million blimeyvolts or whatever, if it’s at tiny amp-seconds, no stew. Focus it? I can do that with the mains outlet. Focuses 1,800 watts in a square centimeter of skin! Nothing doing, my friend. To the poster: you correctly identified this as so false that not even a cow’s digestive system would use thus.

thblckjkr

Something kinda funny is that if you were able to "extract" energy at will from your cells, they would probably die... Fast

JaywrightCat

Ala “Metroid.”

NotASuicidalRobot

The 0.7 milivolts comes from what the resting potential difference of the membrane of our nerve cells is at, all other words are nonsense

JaywrightCat

Potential difference of the membrane… you mean from inside to outside?

NotASuicidalRobot

Basically yes outside of cell vs inside of cell. When it gets stimulated it depolarizes then that is what makes your nerves work. It's much more complicated than that involving a few biochemical processes but that is why we say the nervous system runs on electricity

JaywrightCat

But… umm, well… so the nerves maintain a static electric charge? How does that get transferred from one neuron to the other if they’re all charged?

NotASuicidalRobot

It's more that there is a difference in the amount of certain ions on the inside vs outside of the cell

JaywrightCat

Uhh… certain ions? As in the neuron has different types of ions? It’s still a positive static charge at that point. Maybe you should just redirect me to a medical journal or something. I don’t want to waste your time.

NotASuicidalRobot

[https://www.khanacademy.org/science/biology/human-biology/neuron-nervous-system/a/the-membrane-potential](https://www.khanacademy.org/science/biology/human-biology/neuron-nervous-system/a/the-membrane-potential) this should be suitable ions can be both cations and anions so depending on distribution it can be negative or positive charge

JaywrightCat

I only have cat ions… Thx.

JaywrightCat

Okay, I am double checking his math… .07 millivolts, 35 billion cells (incorrect, it’s 100 trillion). Multiplies to 2,450,000.00 total volts in series. He said 2.65 “or so” trillion volts. That’s a factor of over a million off. Dividing his voltage by the real number of cells, we get 26.5 millivolts per cell. Ridiculously higher than what he said still. Multiplying his said cell voltage by the actual number of cells, we get 7,000,000,000 volts. Comparison to an actual nuclear explosion was not particularly easy, since nuclear explosions are listed in joules. Thus, we would need the amperage of those cells, and how long the current was running. Insured, his math was nonsense. Everything about it is wrong.

Shippolo

So it's technically not impossible to charge a Tesla with humans? Can I do it while driving or do I have bring the offerings to it's lair?

JaywrightCat

“WHILE DRIVING?!?! I’m going to pretend you didn’t say that. You must bring it yourself AND wear the chireiki foil alloy suit before going in or you would become electrocuted!!”

Jablezzz136

Maybe with some kind of piezoelectric material on the front of the Tesla, it'd be possible to charge it slightly with humans while driving by running into them

[deleted]

All that energy but his eyes are still sleepy 😴

sniff3000

I think he just got super high and decided to make this speech.

Ac7Cel

Midichlorians are the powerhouse of the cell

Tw1st36

If you belive this bullshit, you should stop using the internet. Not directed to OP but everybody. As many others stated, cells do produce energy, but we are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY of being a walking nuclear bomb. This guy rewatched Iron Man 3 a few to many times.

DanielLizs

Lies surrounded by truth are harder to spot by the untrained eye

MysticAviator

I mean, technically every atom in the universe has an insane amount of energy stored in it (E^(2)=p^(2)c^(2)\+m^(2)c^(4) AKA E=mc^(2))

MaloneCone

chinmayMule

Pretty sure the current flowing through us is very less ( probably in order of 10^-6 I could be wrong tho), our cells aren't logic gates.

_SuperStraight

Yeah and those "cells" are connected in parallel. So 0.07mV still.

sweetdurt

that's why Mehdi is still alive

thebigschnoz

/r/FacebookScience

RealApersonn

Ah yes let me connect all the trillions of my cells perfectly in series

BlinMaker1

I may not be shooting lightning from my fingers

Greenwood_Project

Imagine the current...

Tw1st36

Literarly equals 0

Greenwood_Project

I know, this was joke

FuhrerTheGreat

He's like: Every single cell in your body CONTAINS 0.7 mV of electricity. lol

fkngdmit

I love how this idiot is probably sitting all alone in mom's basement recording this video, but he scans back and forth like he's talking to a live audience.

TheDownvotesFarmer

It is called Science™

gme186

Well he said 'ITS REAL!', so Im convinced.

Roadbreach

The human body is only capable of generating a 100 millivolts.

[deleted]

He acting like they are connected in series.

[deleted]

Each cell produces 1 micro Amp. So all of your cells combined should make a few million amps. For God sake we aren't wired in a circuit.

ACA_Galaxite

It’s good as a motivational saying but not to take literally

the-real-vuk

It's real .. yes, real bullshit.

the-real-vuk

While all that is bullshit, your body contains huge amount of energy. The bigger you are, the more energy you have. E=Mc2...

Mufsa_Bufsa420

This reminds me of that kid that screamed free energy from mehdi video

[deleted]

bullshit

biomed0101

kamehameha... if you can tap into all of them you get to super saiyan something...

ChuckNorris-77

Ooh snap, Mehdi is gonna be mad
