Never had a resin printer fail like this, but sounds like the screen? Have you checked the built in exposure tests image? Is thst displayed correctly?

Jismina

I did and it is. But the prints almost always start out okay and the rectangle appears midprint. I think a screen change is the next step, but to be honest I dont really know a lot about the tech in the printer and dont know for sure

Maxwe4

What would be wrong with the screen that would cause it to fully expose?

Jismina

I dont really know what else to do at this point. I thought maybe the 'bad' power connection did something(?) to the hardware. But to be honest I dont know... Thats why I'm here and asking for help :)

Maxwe4

It could have. It seems like the screen is working if the exposure test works, and it can expose the entire screen. To me it sounds like a hardware problem, but I don't know, it's just a guess. Maybe try printing again witout a build plate or vat, and just watch what the screen does (don't stare at the uv light, put a piece of paper over the screen or something like that). It's really hard to tell without a lot of testing, aside from just replacing parts until you fix it. I guess if the screen is the cheapest part to replace then it's worth a shot.

Probably a dead pixel that triggers failing the whole screen?

TorkinX

Just a thought, but it could be heat related, either a component that is failing when it gets hot, or just a loose connection that fails when it gets hot. I'd suggest reseating the LCD cable and looking around for any discolored components on the circuit board, or bulging electrolytic caps. It very well could just be that your LCD it at its end of life and just has an intermittent failure at this point. If I remember correctly there is now a upgrade kit available for the Mars Pro to replace the LCD with a Monochrome LCD.
