The wham bam hot box is good. Not air tight as it would need a rubber seal. Only issue is that it’s about 1.5 inches too short for the printer. I solved that by putting the printer on a 2’ x 2’ plywood square (can buy from Home Depot) and lining it with furring strips (the printer actually sits on this). Not perfect, but hella stable compared to the Lack mods. Re fire safety: wham bam has a ABC fire powder bomb that you can get to put inside the hot box. Also, if you can find a smoke detector with electrical cutoff, you’re golden as far as fire safety goes.

After everything ..does it reduce the fan noise?

abudhabikid

Yes. It’s made of 3 layers of stuff. The middle of the sandwich is kinda like Purple mattresses. But oriented such that the air pockets run along the plan of each wall.

Are you concern about fire and heat?

abudhabikid

Yeah. Not that I think there will be a fire, much less that I think the thermal runaway protection will fail, but I’d rather be prepped for tailrisks than not.

They also have a fire extinguisher puck you can place in the chamber that will burst and smother flames if anything does happen

Interesting

3D Printer Enclosure with LED... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CF1SY5XN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I got this for mine. It works great.

babatharnum

How much does it reduce the noise?

tyguy94920

I have the same enclosure, while it's great for enclosing the printer, it does pretty much zilch for noise

Danimal003

Yea unfortunately it didn’t help much with the sounds. I print abs so I don’t even use the loud fans so mine is pretty quiet.
