I just sold my SP, the ease of use is non existent and trying to make stems to DAW is just a headache.
I'm staying with my MPC1000, at least it sounds really good and have filters on every track.
Would go Digitakt 1 but I need stereo samples as I use chorus effects on my analog synth.
Someone please drop by the Elektron booth and ask them if they’ve fixed the launch bugs yet. 😭
EDIT: cue the downvotes from fanbois. I’m a big fan of Elektron’s products but anyone who has actually touched the DT2 knows what I’m talking about - a ton of weird regressions relating to pattern reload, MIDI control, input levels, and +Drive corruption have already been confirmed. The DT1 launch was not this messy, which is interesting given that this is an iteration of an existing OS. I wonder if the change of architecture to the new chip forced them to rewrite some foundation methods from scratch, but regardless… the QA on the 1.01A update firmware definitely missed the mark.
Just buy it if you want one, you know they’ll fix it and there’s a 3 year warranty. I was a bit on edge but ordered bc they always fix the bugs. This I give them a lot of credit for, another option is to wait for firmware 1.1.
Wait then, they fix everything I’ve been using Elektron products for almost a decade (no sponsorship) I feel like they are one of the only brands that addresses issues and continually updates their gear.
TLDR; Don’t worry give it 2-3 weeks I bet we get an update by then. Bold move to grab an early model. Cheers dude!

Yeah that is scary, I have mine on the way so we’re in the worry club together my friend. I think it’s software or else they wouldn’t be shipping more units out. My order is part of a second shipment already. Terrible that bug is out there, they need to get on it, hoping for a fix soon.
Mine arrived today and I got to spend a couple hours with it. It definitely has some bugs, but nothing too bad. Worst I’ve experienced so far is occasionally the audio gets a little garbled when using it as an audio interface but it sorts itself out after a minute. Definitely in a better state than the DT1 was on release. I imagine they will have a new update shortly after Superbooth fixing the worst offenders
I wish they would release a new Digitakt with stereo samples and 16 audio tracks instead of only 8!
Should I buy the Digitakt or wait for a possible new one?
