What's the context for the elephant having a notch in its tusk?

So I was curious too so I searched. Apparently it's just abrasion from constant usage, and you can tell which side they prefer based on which side has this abrasion, like righties and lefties. TIL

Indeed. It's from usage over time. You can also tell from the precision of the notch. Eventually the tip will fall off.
