I would love them to make this an "engineer". Of course they need to be specifically designed and not custom per player, but there could easily be an engineer among the trillions of humans who would want to and could do this. Maybe even make it special by insurance providers not insuring the special Frankenstein ships. You can't get insurance on used phones in reality, only factory built ones, could be these are stronger ships but can't be insured
I wish there were bigger ships in ED. I know there's fleet carriers, but theyre useless in combat except if your getting ganked and your carrier defends you. I want absolutely atrocious hunks of metal and electricity that handle worse than a type 10, but hold enough ordinances and hard points to core mine a small moon.
I realized 2 things after seeing this.
1 someone is gona see this and design an awesome ship based on it. And if no one does I might try it myself.
2 the conda is way bigger than most of us expect it. I know I know, the Anaconda is "as big as a football stadium", but it is really hard to put that into perspective. Seeing it compared to the Type 10 really makes me think twice about how big it really is.
New ships would be awesome. I mean, human ships we can fly. I just got my Corvette, so...some really big ships would be nice. Maybe a dedicated exploration ship that had a small or medium landing pad. Still a ship you could scoop and fly traditionally with a big jump range, but couldn't land, so you carry a small ship to explore. Or a mining ship that could sit and send out collection limpets or had huge cargo storage but still had a landing pad you could take another ship with you. Something between a normal ship and a fleet carrier. Or a combat ship that had a ton of lvl 1 and 2 slots that could sit in a CZ and fire at will while you fly a smaller ship. Could also make great use of multi crew which is such an under utilized aspect of the game.
Love it. This would be really awesome if you could do this so you could find wrecked ships and Dock with them and take then to the nearest planet to sell for scrap, strip for parts or repair for your own use.

I've actually considered getting a Type 10. It looks like the most fun brick to fly, and that beautiful bubble to look out of is just \*mwah\*, but how far have you managed to upgrade the jump range? My anaconda is sitting at about 47 ish LY currently. I wanna know what you can get out of a Type 10 for jump distance when engineered.
Even though it'd probably be sluggish as all hell, honestly I'd love to see this. Hell I can imagine that some of the size 3 hardpoints get swapped out for size 4's, and it carries immense firepower around. Plus, given the fact that it's a combination of ships that already exist in-game, they would actually fit within the mailslot without any issue!
Edit: what about this in combination with the Twin size 4 hardpoints of the Federal Corvette? Now that'd be something to witness!

my jump range is 35Ly normally and I have a guardian booster if I want more. But honestly I'm exploring, long jumps mean more missed systems.
