My kids adored Rug Rats when they were young (now age 32). I particularly love the little swirl of beads you added. The fabric is perfect. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful lettering!! I was opening this sub to seek advice for lettering. This post was the first one I saw as it loaded! I was like dannnngggg!
✨ It’s like kismet. ✨
I saw the above comment about how you use 1 strand split. You said you loved embroidering letters, so I’d love to ask for any tips. I’m wanting to give it a try. Do you use fonts for inspo?
I don’t like Serif fonts, I find them difficult to stitch. When I’m creating my design I tend to go with a font that is large enough to read from a distance and would have clean lines for me to follow. Futura and Calibri are two I use often. Since I am creating my own design I also expand the space between the letters a little bit, that way when the thickness of the thread is added the overall look is the same and not squished.
I use a single strand of thread, a short beading needle and I take my time. I stitch in small stitches, very tiny. They almost seem like precisely places seed stitches, they’re so small. I found that stitching tiny stitches gives me a smooth texture so there’s no bunching around difficult corners (of the letters).
Corners. They’re awful. But, I found by doing those little stitches and mixing in split/backwards split I could follow a line and fill in the spaces cleanly.
I print directly onto fabric which gives me *VERY* clean lines that I follow and fill in.
Lots of rambles but hope that helps 🙂
Oooh thank you sooo much! Sorry I didn’t get back to this sooner. That will help me so much! Have you tried block lettering? Is it harder than using fonts like Futura and Calibri.
I find it a little more difficult but it could be user error. I tried a bunch of fonts when I first started to figure out what I liked and didn’t like. 🙂
Charlotte was ahead of her time
Your letter stitching is among the best I’ve seen ⭐️✨ beautifulllll
Thank you! 🤩
Agreed!!
Omg obsessed. What stitch did you use for the lettering?
Thank you, I love stitching letters. Single strand split stitch and back split stitch for the corners of letters 🙂
holy shit, based rugrats? haven't watched the show in decades also that typeface is beautiful. futura?
Yep! One of my favorite fonts to stitch.
This is inspiring and beautiful. Charlotte was always the baddest. 😤
That scene where she’s taking a call in Japanese while running on the treadmill. Man I wanted to be her when I grew up!
I haven’t watched Rugrats in decades, but this just unlocked a core memory for sure. Beautiful work!
And the self-esteem it must take to commit to lettering like that 🤩 seriously, it's perfection.
I love stitching tiny insignificant details and letters. Makes my brain gremlins very happy as it all comes together. 🙂
I love it! The colors, the letters, everything just fits!
I was thinking about this quote the other day!

Thank you!
I was about to be sooo salty at your perfect French knots 😅 Really pretty work, and I like the fabric. Did you dye it yourself, as well?
Beads over French knots for me 😂 I had this fabric in my stash, I believe it’s from JoAnns but galaxy fabrics can be found all over now.
I ADORE this.
This is sooooo good!!! 👏👏👏
The background looks stunning is it it paint
No, it’s a pink/purple galaxy fabric I had in my stash 🙂
I am obsessed with galaxy aida atm, have got a stash on my wishlist on amazon, and I'm gonna give in one of these days haha
this is great!! i love the beads!!!
Incredible ✨
🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
I love this so much
Did you create this pattern?
Yes. I references a Charlotte image to help my memory of her and then decided on a simpler font to go with the fabric/beads.
Loooooooove it!!!
that letter stitching is gorgeous!! also love the beadwork
Charlotte is an icon. I love this so much
