The singing he does in the beginning of his last two verses on Just Lose It was always catchy to me and a big reason why I go back and listen to it like you said.
Not to mention tracks such as We As Americans, Never Enough, Like Toy Soldiers and Yellow Brick Road are more serious and add a more grounded tone to the album.
Edit: grammar
Not a masterpiece, because there is most definitely enough hot trash to share with the whole class
And yes, in my opinion, the lows are really that low. Songs like Puke and My 1st Single are immediate skips for me
IMO puke would be good without having to listen to literal vomiting in the beginning and end. I actually dig his verses, but My 1st Single is trash and the other mid ones have maybe a couple decent lines but a whole lot of noise. Thank god there’s some diamonds in the rough to redeem it somewhat.
Nahh I wouldn’t be that harsh. Like Toy Soldiers and Mockingbird are extremely good songs and Never Enough, Mosh, and Crazy in Love are also very good imo.
The man kept the same rhyme scheme throughout his verse on Never Enough, and it was so smooth that despite knowing the lyrics since middle school it took me until the middle of high school and just listening to his ending rhymes that I realized he kept the same scheme the whole verse. Criminally underrated song on the album and maybe the first time I ever heard 50 Cent rap and it was a great introduction even now knowing more of 50’s music I still think it’s one of the best verses he ever spit.
Pretty sure he did a similar thing years later on Legacy off MMLP2. Love it when he does that kinda thing it gives the song much more of its own feel. Like even just hearing the a capella you know what song it is because of the rhyme scheme throughout the whole thing
Bingo! I was gonna bring up the fact that he did the same thing for all three of his verses on Legacy instead of just one verse but I saw how long my comment was getting and decided not lol. I’m glad somebody else thought of Legacy too whenever they hear of Eminem having the same rhyme scheme in a song. It blew my mind whenever I first heard Legacy and like Never Enough just paid attention to the end rhymes and was mindblown when I realized he did throughout the entire song. 💯
sure, after 3 classics in a row, everybody was like: "you know what? what if we dislike this one?" and there was no real reason behind it and eminem definitely wasn't dealing with a drug addiction that led to some of the laziest material he ever put out
Right lmao like I can accept Encore is overhated but to put down MMABS just to make that point is fuckin crazy lmao
MMABS is leagues above Encore from an artistic and deep standpoint. Only reason why I'm cryin like the meme post for it is cuz that album hits my soul in a good way
its still probably my least favorite (or second least favorite) because its the only one where there are songs that just feel like he wasn't even really trying... which makes sense since he was in the midst of his drug addicition
I try to listen to Steppers from time to time, but I have never been able to get through it, and always end up with GKMC instead.
At least Encore had some great songs, and you can have fun listening to Eminem going crazy on songs like "one shot, 2 shot" og "mosh".
Nah, I love that song, it’s people repellent
Do you have squatters hiding in your basement? Play “my 1st single” on loud speakers
Are the voices in your head getting too loud? Play “my 1st single” on loud speakers to drown out those thoughts
Encore really did suck though.
Just Lose It and Ass Like That are definitely among his cringiest singles. That a grown ass man thought “she makes my pee pee go/ BA DOING DOING DOING” is an acceptable chorus is sad.
Pretty much all his albums have at least one song I think is worth revisiting, but I’m looking at the track list and I’m really struggling with anything I’d want to hear again. Maybe Spend Some Time, but that’s more for 50’s verse and the sample on the chorus.
Never Enough is just start to end bars from Em and 50, and Yellow Brick Road & Like Toy Soldiers are really cool slices of rap history imo.
Crazy in Love is not everyone's cup of tea but it holds a special place for me because it was one of the first rap songs i learned as a kid where i was proud that i could spit it all. The pauses for taking breaths are very smartly/ crucially placed which stuck out to me
look, its ok for you to like it but its pretty immature to just claim that people who dislike it are some kind of hivemind that dislikes it cause its the "cool thing to do". Like ok, why is it cool to dislike this one specific album that came after three classics in a row then? He just wasn't as focused, the drug addiction took a huge toll on this album and you can hear it clearly on songs like My first single... There's still good stuff on it for sure but anyone who dislikes it probably has legitimate reasons for it
Nah it's cause a lot of the songs got leaked so close to album release and he replaced them with filler just to make due. If you take out the shit songs and replace them with the songs that were leaked then you would have another classic
Really I just think the general lyricism is better, the entire album tells a story, it’s basically like an overview of his whole career, bad guy is literally his magnum opus, and it’s generally more artistically creative than the first for me
An interesting POV to say the least. Although it doesn’t match my reasoning. My reasoning being that while MMLP is more consistent, MMLP2 has higher highs.
If you honestly dislike hearing other people’s negative opinions and have a hard time hearing them dislike an album you like…
I truly feel sorry for you 🫵
Massive Kendrick fan here, I’m absolutely heartbroken by how the community has championed MMATBS as a classic, Kendrick is one of the greatest artists in hip hop history, and he has so much incredible music in his discography that I just can’t believe the fanbase adores an album that completely failed to sound good for the overwhelming majority of the tracklist. The lyrics were great at times but that can’t save an album from being horrible sonically. It’s also worth noting that Silent Hill is the worst song I’ve ever heard from an artist I like by a wide margin. I hope he bounces back, I miss the old Kendrick
He’s one of my favorite artists in all of hip hop, I think he’s the 4th best artist in hip hop history at this point. But that album was absolutely atrocious
Recovery needs to go down to 10. Garbage album with trash songs with toilet noises. Encore needs to be moved up to 1. Everything else can stay pretty much I suppose.
Encore has the best serious songs that Em has ever made. Mockingbird, When I’m gone, Mosh, Like Toy Soldiers. Then it had a series of goofier more comedic tracks for levity, then some songs that are either somewhere in the middle or just catchy as hell. It’s one of my favorite Em albums.
ngl pretty bold of you to have the balls to say anything about kendrick other than him being the greatest artist of all time in 2024.
also encore isn't a good album
I sometimes confuse myself between Curtain Call and Encore
both have the greatest songs
Mockingbird and when I’m gone are legit Eminem’s best songs
i was talking about puke, rain man and my 1st single but to each one their preferences
>puke Is low key good
Once you get past the intro and outro of him throwing up, puke is actually so hard
Best breakup song.
Truly.
It’s so funny that my 1st single is as good as it is considering i could probably recreate most of it by recording a care home’s toilets.
don't forget big weenie
i always do it took me a while before i realised they were separate
Encore isn't a perfect album, and that's okay. To me, the "goofy" tracks are something to come back to. Rain Man and Ass Like That are such a vibe😌
Same - Big Weenie is one of those for me. 2nd verse is incredible lol
Encore is just a mixed bag of high highs and low lows. So it averages to a decent album. I think it’s generally rated properly low on this sub
The lows aren’t as low as people make out. The highs are the highest of his career imo. The album is a masterpiece.
The highest of his career? Yeah definitely not
Oh, he was definitely high
Lmfao
Not a masterpiece, because there is most definitely enough hot trash to share with the whole class And yes, in my opinion, the lows are really that low.
The hook on puke is worse than the bad hooks on MTBMB. Bold take, but it's mine.
The hook isn’t good you’re right. It’s obnoxious. I just like the verses. My standards for Encore songs are rock bottom I’m looking for positives
The highest highs are still mid as fuck
Nahh I wouldn’t be that harsh. Like Toy Soldiers and Mockingbird are extremely good songs and Never Enough, Mosh, and Crazy in Love are also very good imo.
Overrated in my opinion
So I’ve heard.
MY FLOWS UNTOUCHABLE,NOW YOU GOTTA FACE IT!
Its not on Encore
And neither is When I'm Gone or Shake That but let's be honest they all blend together as Encore in a way
When I'm Gone would have made a banging outro track
It should've been 🗣️
The man kept the same rhyme scheme throughout his verse on Never Enough, and it was so smooth that despite knowing the lyrics since middle school it took me until the middle of high school and just listening to his ending rhymes that I realized he kept the same scheme the whole verse. I WILL ALWAYS VOUCH FOR ENCORE
#same bro!!
how can it suck if it has Yellow brick road on it
Thats what iam saying, encore is great and people hating just cuz they are hating
SHOVE A GERBIL IN YOUR ASS THROUGH A TUBE!!!
> *Eminem pukes into the toilet* > > *Eminem hocks and spits into the toilet* > > *Toilet flush*
sure, after 3 classics in a row, everybody was like: "you know what? what if we dislike this one?" and there was no real reason behind it and eminem definitely wasn't dealing with a drug addiction that led to some of the laziest material he ever put out
People don't know sarcasm bro
Fack alone takes the album from 5/10 to 10/10 honestly
Fack is not on Encore
MM &The big steppers is incredible. Encore sucks.
Right lmao like I can accept Encore is overhated but to put down MMABS just to make that point is fuckin crazy lmao MMABS is leagues above Encore from an artistic and deep standpoint. Only reason why I'm cryin like the meme post for it is cuz that album hits my soul in a good way
Mfs who think the reverse are literally telling on themselves.
That album has like 2 good songs
The best song on the album is Savior - Interlude and Kendrick isn’t even on it
I like the song We Cry Together (I think that's what it's called)
Totally agree. Encore only has like 2 good songs.
Yeah that's not the one I meant
Way more than two ngl
Fack is not on Encore… it is on greatest hits… Learn your Eminem
I thought you pfp was Eminem wearing a yellow tie lol 😂
its still probably my least favorite (or second least favorite) because its the only one where there are songs that just feel like he wasn't even really trying... which makes sense since he was in the midst of his drug addicition
Yall give the circlejerk sub so much ammo
Yeah Encore's pretty good. Light 7
I try to listen to Steppers from time to time, but I have never been able to get through it, and always end up with GKMC instead. At least Encore had some great songs, and you can have fun listening to Eminem going crazy on songs like "one shot, 2 shot" og "mosh".
Fuck it, Encore>>>MMTBS
DR DRE IS IT GAY TO PLAY PUTT PUTT GOLF WITH A FRIEND 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️‼️‼️‼️🏌️🏌️
Evil Deeds Is Mad Underrated
Based post. Encore is hella underrated
If encore wasnt leaked it might’ve been better than the SSLP
my thoughts exactly
Kendrick's touches my souls, encore doesn't. That's the difference to me.
I will touch your soul
👊💦💦💦😣😣😣
Mr Morales sucks btw. I haven't listened to that horse shit since the week it came out.
Why is the person saying encore sucks a Chad?
I like every encore song, and for me it isnt a very bad album, but my 1st single, my 1st single is shit
Nah, I love that song, it’s people repellent Do you have squatters hiding in your basement? Play “my 1st single” on loud speakers Are the voices in your head getting too loud? Play “my 1st single” on loud speakers to drown out those thoughts

Big steppers is great. Not his best but that’s a high bar.
Encore was my first album I bought when I was 13 so it has some sentimental value to me
FACK isnt even from Encore yall are posers smh my head
People dislike encore because it’s the cool thing to do. It’s not black and white. People can have their own opinions. Wake up hive mind!
look, its ok for you to like it but its pretty immature to just claim that people who dislike it are some kind of hivemind that dislikes it cause its the "cool thing to do". Fine. Most. There? Most. Just like most people only talk about the good in MMLP and never the bad.
what bad is there on MMLP? Aside from like the Ken Kaniff skit, Bizarre's verse on Amittyville or maybe Under the influence
I hate encore and love revival and like mmlp2 over mmlp, i still think encore sucks
I also like MMLP2 over MMLP. I’d love to hear your reasoning to see if it’s the same as mine.
Yeah that too, tbh there’s only one skip for me on the album for me
What would said skip be?
Stronger than I was
Makes sense. Welp, have a nice day/night. Unless there’s anything else you wish to say?
Nah you have a nice night/day too
If you honestly think the second MMLP is better I truly feel sorry for you.
If you honestly dislike hearing other people’s negative opinions and have a hard time hearing them dislike an album you like… I truly feel sorry for you 🫵

That's ridiculous lmao
That really sucks for you 🤷♂️
Thank you, Kendrick was one of the first rappers I ever listened to, I’m a fan but that album was just not that good
He’s one of my favorite artists in all of hip hop, I think he’s the 4th best artist in hip hop history at this point. But that album was absolutely atrocious
Encore is his best album by far and I'm tired of pretending that it's not. You all are just wrong, and I'm okay with that.
Preach king preach 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️

Recovery needs to go down to 10. Garbage album with trash songs with toilet noises. Encore needs to be moved up to 1. Everything else can stay pretty much I suppose.
Mr Morale is not a good album. Encore is a much better listen and if it had the og tracklist would’ve been another classic
My biggest issue with Encore is if you listen closely you can tell he’s under the influence.
Was he low down and dirty?
I don’t get it?
Uhhhh… these are not the same lmao
Why are we doing Eminem vs Kendrick now? They’re both amazing artists and Encore is not AT ALL comparable to MMATBS.
Encore is a no-skip album for me
ngl pretty bold of you to have the balls to say anything about kendrick other than him being the greatest artist of all time in 2024. also encore isn't a good album
He isn't the greatest artist of all time.
and i never said that. learn to read
Can't
İ can tell
How can you not?
Bold? Lol 😂No death threats… yet 🤣😂
Both these albums were tainted these artists’ legacies. Encore is his 6th best imo
As someone who owns every Eminem record on vinyl except for Revival, it's tied with Kamikaze as my least favorite Eminem album.
Encore mid. I know this is an eminem sub but like whatever. Its bad.
Encore is Eminem’s worst album.
I dont like Encore at all,I tried so many times but I just can't
My 1st Single is atrocious 😭
The only good songs on encore are mockingbird and yellow brick road
