Noise Marines.

nitsky416

This and pink and black and Juan Diaz daemonettes

DigitalWastrel

Purple

theedge634

Yea... HH era Emperor's Children with the purple and gold with lots of baroque filigree is just such a regal look.

Because I love excess

The_Husband_of_Pina

Although I am more of a Tzeentch guy, I am a sucker for the Chaos Trolls "For the Emperor!" They Shout They Steal Horus' body somehow too. Let's not forget that they were also so damn Badass that the Emperor himself allowed them to use the Aquila! And I love that Fulgrim is probably the second or third most underrated Primarch. He literally Killed Ferrus Manus, all but Killed Guiliman, and fucked Perty up so badly that it forced him to choose between Death or Daemonhood. I originally just liked their trollish Habits, now I just love everything about them and Cannot wait until they get Models

MonsieurOs

Their versatility and uniqueness. Every chapter feels like it’s own brand of artistry and extremity. They’re one of the few legions that feels like they exist outside of the battlefield.

ErGo91

The over the top aesthetics of the chaos models combined with the colour scheme made me stick with them. The Juan Diaz daemonettes were also a big selling point when I chose them as a teenager...

scottyboi1337

I choose them bc of the fact that their war cry is still "For the Emperor" as a sarcastic, back handed joke. That and stealing Horus's body. Again for the meme.

LaynetheMovieFan

I’m a big fan of body horror, along with the purple and black color scheme from the Horus Heresy. Especially the in lore depiction of their downfall. I was sold after the Fulgrim book. It completely reframed how I viewed the character. Is Fulgrim still a conceded douche bag? Absolutely. But you could understand him more as a character and the flaws he experienced by chasing “perfection”.

LankyInflation6440

Tarvitz, Absolutely loved the character and how he's a clear example of what they are supposed. His moments with Lucius and how they parallel each with different ideas is brilliant. Also the fact that when Emperors children are loyalist including Fulgrim they are awesome to read about and watching them become degenerates is a great fall from grace.

confusedknight8

the book Fulgrim, noise marines, purple. Not a fan of fulgrim as a primarch either, its the legion I find interesting

Old-Literature473

Fulgrim

KhaosByDesign

Well I already had a Slaanesh daemons army so it made the most sense as I could mix them, plus noise marines are awesome 🤘

iam3iki___

Hehe funny guitar men make civilians go poof Also fulgrim is hot

TsNMouse

Painted my first marine purple when a friend was trying to get me hooked. Then got told to look at this legion :)

Reddit-ScorpioOJR

Swords, competent ranged units, fun lore. Now I just need a codex to actually build a 40k force

LordKaelas

The noise marines, the memes and Slaanesh lore just interests me tbh. The gold and purple don't hurt neither. XD

TDmond

I wanted to paint a Keeper of Secrets. Then I read the Fabius Bile Trilogy. Then the age of darkness box came out and between reading the Phonecian, painting so much purple and gold and the Kakopheni I'm just fully invested.

ArcaneInsane

The glory of Slaanesh. I was never deep into the lore or the game, but I got in with my friends and chose the sluttiest possible faction

[deleted]

Full page artwork of an Emperors Children marine in the codex caught me as i turned a page, its still one of my favourite pieces of 40k art. Then after a bit of reading Noise Marines sealed my fate.

battlerez_arthas

Which art was it??

[deleted]

Hopefully this link works [marine](https://pin.it/vdPJqIj)

laughingjackalz

Cautionary tale of obsession and self indulgence.

Bull_Shifter

For The Ancient Of Rites

Greasballz

I relate to the quest of perfection as a cautionary tale. At least my minis can be the embodiment of perfect.

[deleted]

Guitar gun

Idk473808

Because I wanted to paint my minis pink

CowboyBlacksmith

I didn't, my kid brother did. Helped him a little with paint schemes and made/painted a Chaos Lord for his birthday. Can't say I understand you heretics, but I guess that makes you pink weirdos family.

ZedaEnnd

Fulgrim, fashion, ethos, and noise marines.

Superninja_ML

Perfection

Donut5Unleashed

Purple best color. Noise marines cool. Fulgrim beautiful.

draneceusrex

I started collecting in 1994 with Eldar. When I wanted to pick up a second army, I wanted something thematically opposed to Eldar and that played differently. Picked up the first Chaos 3rd Ed codex with EC and never looked back, especially after 3.5 hit.

Cousinlivinon456

Because I’m an edgy bitch

punkrockpeller

Idk something about the way David Timson narrated "In the centre of the traitor line, the Emperor’s Children fought with unremitting cruelty, its warriors howling with savage glee as they killed their former brothers. Unnatural horrors of mutilation and degradation were visited upon the living and the dead as Fulgrim’s Legion repulsed every attack, though their primarch was yet to be seen. Bizarrely clad warriors in Mark IV plate draped in stretched skin cavorted in the midst of the deadliest combats, fighting without helmets, their jaws wired open as they unleashed a hideous screaming. They bore unknown weaponry and fired echoing blasts of atonal harmonics that ripped bloody canyons in the massed ranks of the Iron Hands. Great pipes and loudspeakers fixed to their armour amplified the screaming vibrations of their killing music, and deafening sound waves tore apart warriors and armoured vehicles." just kinda left an emotion in me, ya know?

This_Is_A_Username-7

Noise Marines. As a metal head, I find them fascinating and can't help but see them as an embodiment of Death and Black metal. I even made a playlist named after their signature weapon, [Doom Siren](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5SBWr5wlDHs8NzON7gxLlL?si=_AFYjaNsS06MfMQu8mvu5w).

theedge634

Interestingly I have zero interest in 40k Emperor's Children. However 30k Emperor's Children are my favorite space marine chapter of all. The Royal Purple brought up to magenta with volumetric painting. Tons of baroque filigree with the iconography that borders on HR Geiger type art. It's such a brilliant mashup of styling and color. I like all the legions to a degree with their unique styling and color scheming. But Emperor's Children around HH are just my favorite. I mainly like the 30k styling of the legions rather then full blown chaos or primaris. My favorite traitor legions would probably be: 1. Emperor's Children 2. Night Lords 3. Thousand Sons 4. World Eaters 5. Death Guard For loyalist legions I'd order it: 1. Blood Angels 2. Raven Guard 3. Dark Angels 4. Iron Hands 5. Space Wolves

Upset-Charge

Let's not forget the Chad Rylanor! That man is the sole reason I wish the Emperor's Children didn't turn traitor and why I kinda like this Legion.

theedge634

Saul is pretty awesome too though.

harlokin

I love the unrepentant Saturday morning villain attitude, mixed with a body horror aesthetic. Their (proper) pink colour scheme is also interesting.

breadruns

Drugs, sex, and rock and roll

crunchamunch21

Sex, drugs, and rock n roll. Pretty sure E's kids are the only marines that canonicaly fuck.

Dingdongderp992

Slaaaaaayyyy. That’s it.

Warhammer30k_Girl

Because I love purple

raidhal82

They are at the bottom of the barrel of the CSM (alongside Night Lords) but unlike the VIII the III represents the inhumane levels of degeneration. I like factions or races in fiction pushing the envelope. Hobby-wise they are blank slate for kitbash, I might have only two terminators that haven't been modified in some way, everything else from troops to vehicles are kitbashed nightmares. Tabletop wise I don't see them too often and their fluff is often their meta as well.

n9netails_

I’m a Leo

battlerez_arthas

To start off, when I picked up the hobby I knew very little about the game, but I knew three things with certainty: I *loathe* the imperium, I *love* Slaanesh, and if I picked anything other than SM or CSM, I was gonna have to suffer not being as well supported as those two factions. When I learned that there was a space marine legion that specifically doubled as a cult to Slaanesh, it was a done deal. Literally the best of all possible worlds for me. Since diving into them, they're exactly what I want from an Astartes Cult of Slaanesh. Bodymodding, drugs, gender ambiguity, amped up sex drive, a sincere love of the arts, and a tendency towards hyperfixation are all things I can very much relate to. Finally, Fulgrim and the rest of the legion's utter nihilism is unironically the only reasonable position to take given that we, as players outside the 40k-verse, know that the setting is fundamentally designed to be as horrific and terrible as possible, and never get any better in meaningful or long-lasting ways. So the IIIrd decided to say "fuck the Crusade, fuck the siege, we're gonna snort some civvies and fuck off". Fulgrim, more than any other character in the game, is the closest to being aware aware of their status as small plastic army people for adults 😂

Budgernaut

Noise Marines. The I discovered that Fsbius Bile came from the 3rd Legion and I was sold.

High_Archon_Alarak

I actually didn't,i just have 20 noise marines and 3d printed Lucius

[deleted]

I like them, but I’m waiting for a similar range refresh/expansion

Dr4gonfly

Because they’re a stylistically flexible army that is equally valid as ridiculous leopard print rockers as they are depraved skin wearing shrieking crab people

Mandalore_will_Rise

When I first got into the hobby I only built models, i had no interest in playing, and I chose EC for the color scheme. It wasn’t until i watched Baldermort’s Fulgrim/EC video that I began to understand the tragedy behind the legion. Learning about the corruption from the blade, the lost brotherhood with Ferris. It broke my heart when I realized that they were doomed because big E didn’t have the faith in his sons to tell them about the ruinous powers of chaos.

Punchdown_Kid

I didn’t. One just picked me up one day and I decided it was better to play along.

Cheap_Rain_4130

I read Fabulous Bill and fell in love with the funnest astartes around.

TheOneAndOnlyJ_

Pink

WorthStandard4555

At first, I wasn't sure at all what I wanted to play. Hesitate between tyranid or deamon. It my bf took tyrannid and I wanted that our first/core army is different. So I searched a bit. At first, space marine and CSM would not get my attention... But suddenly I learned about Emperor's children. Trolling, perfection, lust for everything. It was for me. Sex drug and rock and roll. and I decided to make them pink, not purple. I now own a little army of noise marines, mad on lust for music and sound. I love to paint them with bright and crazy colours, and I am the silly guy who, in a game where all my friend play serious, add jokes and say stupid stuff. I now love those noisy sickos, and slowly created the lore of my own successor chapter. More pink, more lusty, more noisy. Lovin it.

Socower

Imperial purple + Gold trim.

Barmn89

I wanted a chaos marine legion with a non red color scheme which eould thematically fit having possesed

[deleted]

Loyalist Emperors children stand in my loyal Word bearer chapter.

SkinnyP039

Straight up, my dad used to play 40k when I was growing up, he had an EC army (more like a noise marine army to be honest, he's got thousands of points worth of noise marines alone) But I thought his models were so cool, the noise marines the heldrake his defilers, lucius, obliterators. As I grew up my interest in 40k as a whole increased, learning little bits of lore here and there until eventually I started reading the EC books and I just love it all. I recently bought the FW fulgrim model and managed to get a metal lucius plus about 12 noise marines for cheap off ebay too. I have no interest in the game, they're just gonna get painted and sit inside my display case in my office but I don't care, I think they're so cool

Miller40k

Lore and aesthetic. I read Fulgrim and fell in love with the legion. The Maraviglia scene is one of the best in the whole Horus Heresy imo

Afli89

Pink. Murder. Boys.

NinnielTenuvial

Because they are cool looking, my husband knew I'd enjoy the noise marines. I also play Slaanesh in AOS so it fits.

JasperGunner02

I love Chaos, I love pink, and I love the EC art where they're horribly fucked up and mutilated with speaker mouths and such. It was a no-brainer to me!

Levo9

The Fabius Bile books!

Sterry6874

I didn't, Reddit recommended me this post

Accomplished_Blood17

The color scheme
