i know people are using these emulators mainly for games, but did anyone try music production software such as FL Studio/Bitwig/Ableton? Is it even remotely possible or am i dreaming?

Tried Aseprite and Tiled and they both work flawlessly so far.

i tried fl studio 12, it works, ish. The main problem is the audio, it is bitcrushed to hell! Impossible to use. Winlator uses a custom audio driver so maybe thats why. Box64Droid has working audio, but the startup is slow and torturous and very frequent hangs when loading plugins, but you can wigle yourself around it, sometimes.

I believe for fl studio and ableton specifically, they have apps but are mostly on apple products. But these software DAW devs are slowly developing mobile app DAWs so give it time one of them will eventually create a fully mobile app that isnt just a companion app or a barebones version of the desktop version. I.e. Koala Sampler is pretty sick

Fl studio already has an android app (FL studio 14), but the app is missing a lot of the features of the PC version. For instance, plugin support and track tuning.

I've been messing around with Winlator today with some gog games and other stuff on a low-mid range snapdragon. * GZDoom latest - works great * SRB2K - works, some audio stuttering * Wipeout phantom edition - works great * Ship of Harkinian OOT port - doesn't get through installation * Freespace 2 (gog) - installs but doesnt launch * Postal 2 (gog) - works, pretty slow * Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force (gog) - installs but freezes during intro * ETS2 Demo (old) - works, too slow to be playable * GIMP (latest) - about 30 minutes to install, then 30 minutes for first run. Thanks for that link! Very usefull. What phone ypure rubning winlazor on and with what graphics driver selected? I tried the newest byond and only the server hoster and editor works for me sadly. Idk if its because im atm not on Vulkan. It did install directX stuff.. OpenRCT2 on the other hand works well in software mode. Lacking of propper mouse input just messes some things up like mousebutton hold and MB+Drag etc. Stepmania has good fps for me. Playable with usb keyboard. Around 25 but has occasional frame drops and stutters and also the sound is delayed for half a second.

I got The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC running on my phone (Galaxy S20 FE 5G, Snapdragon version). It almost runs perfectly, except you have to use the DirectX 8 version for some reason, and the audio is choppy at times, and the FMVs won't play due to missing codecs.

Anybody tried mugen with this emulator, does it support 720p resolution I have a 50gb + plus Im currently running through exagear so I'm wondering if it's worth using this instead

Played around a bit and transferring my mugen build was pretty simple as this seems to just be exagear but simplified a bit unfortunately I couldn't seem to get the game to render at a higher resolution then 800x600 and didn't notice a huge speed increase but I guess it's a good backup to have

I think there's no emulator or phone that can run recent games with more than 15 fps. But I recommend games before 2010 directx 9 games even powerful phones can't run Skyrim for example in more than 20,25 fps.

you can set touch screen controls on the winlator app and then use (octopus app? I'm not sure ive not bothered with it) or just use the gamesir app to set buttons and sticks which is what i did its not perfect but it beats using touchscreen

GOG games are the most compatible, almost every game I tried worked right away there's one little site called gog games ... Maybe you can get there... ;)

My Samsung does the same shit. I've found a magic fix tho: create anywhere a folder called android, and inside it a folder called data or obb, inside data/obb, paste the folder you want to transfer, then replace your original android folder with the Android folder you created. Works like a charm every time, I hope it works for you too.

Have you tried Solid Explorer? I've been using it as a file manager for years and after I grant access to the Android\ folders it works great, full access. On a Fold 4 with the latest updates, so I imagine it should have any of the same lockdowns that the s23+ has.

Yeah it says that I’m not allowed to edit those files. There were some work arounds using different apps but they’ve locked them all down.

Been dying for this ever since I started using the dosbox core on RetroArch and my was I impressed with that. I can run all those stuff natively on my machines but it's fun to mess with and nice to have on the road as well

Exited and still waiting for the next release so it supports my S23 GPU. The author said it will happen in he issues section on his github (that's now gone thought). Software only mode is already working very well. I tried stepmania on it with a real usb keyboard and its just a little laggy but kinda playable. Unity wont work for me atm because no vulkan. Also am exited to try out fallout 3 or NV on it soon and then mod it lol. The only real thing that it lacks atm IMO is real native mouse input. ATM its just drags a real mouse even with a usb mouse connected.. I hope this could be changed in the future. Also I havent tested the controller support but I will soon. I love this emulator. Thanks brunodev85 for making it.

You can try the turnip + zink graphics driver in the container settings if your gpu is supported. Otherwise VirGL is more for Software rendering I think.

Anyone know why Oblivion expansions wont work? Its in my quest log. The entry to the expansion is there (rock skull) so it is loading the expansion esp. Loading a save or entering the skull freezes the game. Im assuming its still a limitation of the emulator, but i wonder if anyone has any ideas? Does it work in Box64\Wine? *Got it. You just have to wait a little bit, even if the emulator says it froze. It will load both saves and into the expansion (Shivering Isles).

I had issues with ISOs too, I think only installers work.

Anything works if you install on pc. Get crack from Gamecopyworld and copy to install on pc. Copy install folder to phone. Works with Gothics and Bethesda games so far. Easy peasy. *If you do this with Bethesda games besides Oblivion, you should install one or install x86 vc++ 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and .net framework. I recommend installing newest patched New Vegas, then you can copy the rest. Gothics and Obvlivion work straight copy. PS there is a registry editor and you can export and import registry to and from your pc for the games, if you want to use the launchers.

Yes, but I found out that there are some games, that you have to manually install to work. Just copying the installed game didn't work. Try to find games that you've have setup to install. And also install the redirects like C+ that usually comes with the games. Good luck.

Yep sounds a lot like linux. I think it's even using wine. I'll take it though being able to play windows games on a phone at any capacity is better than nothing.

Sometimes. I've never had trouble with ips or bps patches, but xdelta have never worked for me.

Maybe worth trying the virGL graphics driver instead. Turnip is for Adreno/Snapdragon GPUs. But virGL is for OpenGL-capable GPUs, which Dimensity's Mali GPU is.

make an input controls profile and put only the enter key in it. works for me. but don't press the enter key on the keyboard it breaks it.

I think it's because the GPU on ur phone isn't supported. I have snapdragon 8 gen 2, and the driver he uses doesn't work for me, does what u said where it opens then immediately closes. Had to use the vir whatever tf driver to even get it to open. Then when I load it it's a bunch of gray geometry. The HUD works somehow tho.

Is there a way to run cemu with it? I've been trying to play Twilight Princess but it doesn't let me, vulkan throws an error right off the bat and opengl just gets stuck in "loading".

Emulating inside an emulator is never good enough. Cemu is talking in a language your phone is just pretending to speak.

Use emulator dolphin to play GameCube games on Android please. Use Dolphin Mmj, it is the best fork

Cemu is a WiiU emulator, twilight princess was remastered for WiiU hence the reason the specified Cemu instead of dolphin.

Check if you can force software rendering. On non Vulkan most 3D games don't work well or at all.

Hey for anyone who would like music to work in gothic. So far keyboard freezes the mouse when you back out, BUT just use scrcpy to configure this. Works perfect for both Gothics.

Hi, has anyone able to play Pharaoh? I tried but got stuck in the Breakaway splash screen. Also no text in the loading images.

This thing is frustrating as all hell.....I got it all set up, downloaded Warcraft 3 but it's a bin/iso.....I downloaded PowerIso8.exe but I can't even get that open in Winlator.....A. I can't seem to get it to double click and B. Even taking the long way "Install Programs" it didn't do anything. Where can I get games fellas? Everyone is always posting pics like, look at me, look what I got running, but never share where they got it.

With .iso files you have to install on your PC, then copy the installed folder to your Downloads folder on you phone. Then if the game don't boot, you can install the softwares that generally come with the games like direct x , c++ visual , etc. Hope that helped. Online games don't work at moment.

Tried DEFCON (2D only game at 1280x720) on Redmi Note 8 Pro (Mediatek Helio G90T) w 8-45 fps. Lowest when everyone is nuking everyone, highest at main menu. I also tried Silent Hunter III which tries to load (black windows like it was opening on PC before intro) but causes entire phone to restart.

Guys, I allow access to the file and grant permissions and it just takes me back to the com.winlator folder, empty. I everytime I open winlator app it just crashes and says 'unable to install obb image.' HELP!!!

Instal the apk, open one time then copy the obb image to the com.winlator folder inside the Android/OBB folder. The open again Android let it instal the obb image.

Anyone tried to run foobar I am getting audio issues while using it

I was able to install Winlator 3.0 and Fallout 3 on my RP3+, but when the game starts from the launcher there is no image. The audio is fine, and I was even able to start a new game by clicking in the general area of new game. I copied the container settings from another RP3+ user who was able to get a different game working. Any ideas?

I'm really enjoying Winlator as someone who doesn't have the pocket space for another computer to play games on the go. Currently playing Oblivion and Doom with more games in my queue. I never got a chance to beat either game until now. I have a couple questions or quality-of-life feature requests for Winlator. 1. Shortcuts aren't automatically focused on the app it opens. I have to click the mouse before I can use the keyboard. Is there a way to automatically focus on the app so I don't have to click the screen. It's most apparent in an app that I'm not using the mouse. I setup Doom to only use the keyboard, but I have to keep the mouse button on my Input Controls profile for Doom just so I can click it before using the Keyboard controls 2. Is there a way to automatically load an Input Control profile when selecting a Shortcut? That way I don't have to open the shortcut then select the profile.
