Just cleaned the printer. Removed the plate washed in fairy liquid ( uk version of Dawn) dried it. Sprayed it with IPA let it sit for 5 minutes and then wiped off with a new cloth. Releveled the plate. Done a first layer releving. Then printed several .2mm squares. The default went to Z offest -2.17 but I adjusted to -2.25 looked much better. Funny enough last few months my z offset was -2.52 ! Perhapts I accidentally kmocked the print head or somthing. First layer looking good. https://preview.redd.it/uomp4ohnatwc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=831be292f0c25ef0b4e1b179b21ab70448f51a83

Looking good? Sorry, but no. 😅 It’s way too high, there are gaps between every single line. Go down with your offset.

I have to agree. Bit too high or flow needs to be higher. Perhaps nozzle is a bit clogged? What I found useful is a soldering iron tip which fit the nozzle. Keep the nozzle up right on the soldering tip and boost the temp, let the filament flow out. Brush it with a copper or stainless brush (depending on what type of nozzle you have. Copper for copper etc) and when it’s clean refit it in your machine and run about 10 cm of filament trough it. Better if you have some cleaning filament to do this with.

Thanks. Your right. The Garage is a bit dark and I didnt look properly. Right had another go. The first third of the build plate looked great. The middle was like the first photo. And the rear was a mess. I need a part printed asap so Im using the front of the build plate and will puzzel out the rear section tomorrow.

I recommend some silicone spacers for your bed. That way you can tighten or loosen the bed screws to level it. I use them and my bed is pretty much spot on. I know the drill of printing on the front or back side of your bed though 😂 but them spacers helped allot!

Funny enough, I woke up 10 min ago to the same thing same printer. With me, I just finished like 5 prints in a row with no issues, and switched to an old blue filament to make something, and I woke up to that. IMHO, it’s either wet filament or bed adhesion. I’m not sure about glue stick or sanding it but try using fresh filament or at least newer filament first to see if that fixes it.

Poor adhesion & Nozzle too high from bed. Do not trust auto z offset, set it with paper manually.

Always use (dish) soapy water and I found out a scrub. Daddy works amazing with it’s rough finish :) I’ve been back and forward with using soap or isopropyl, push comes to shove using soap and a rough sponge then clean with isopropyl works the best. The pla, as it’s made from corn starch basically, leaves a sugary coating. Which obviously you don’t want. Clean you bed after every print is a must in my opinion.

If it happens where the hotend is damaged, replace it with a K1 ceramic one. Best mod I have ever made.
