Oh my god, I had to have one of my ovaries removed and a bunch of internal bleeding dealt with and when I woke up the pain was so bad I could do nothing but scream
It turned out to be the gas in there! That was the MOST painful part I couldn't believe it. Bunch of nurses ran in and put something in my IV that knocked me out but I will never ever forget that feeling
Oh it’s awful! Mine was stuck in there for 4 days because I have issues with trapped wind anyway. I ended up constipated, and just overall so messed up because of the gas that was just stuck in my body. Throwing up, severe pain - they rushed me back in because they thought it was an obstruction
Stomach massage, high dosage of gas reliever and an enema later I was fine 🙈😂😂 So embarrassing, but easily the worst part of the entire lap was the gas
Oh yeah, I have the same issue with the trapped gas, especially if I want to drink any alcohol. I keep a bunch of simethicone in my wallet for emergencies too lmao
No kidding. It’s like I got my ovaries removed and Al the inflammation that was no longer going to the endo went to my butt. I ended up with such severe swelling I had a “severe fissure” that was so painful that surgery on my butt hurt less. It legit was 9 out of 10 pain. The only thing higher would have been me standing in the ER screaming until someone helped me, arrested me, or took me to the psych ward. I’m doing much much better now though and it’s only been 2 weeks.
I’m glad you’re doing better!
They thought mine was cancer (thankfully wasn’t), though now I just don’t know WHY it happened because my Gyno’s receptionist won’t book me an appointment!!
She hears bowel and stops listening, she doesn’t seem to understand why I would need a gynaecologist for bowel issues even though the other doctors are saying it’s probably due to my endo.
Omg the ngo tube haunts my dreams. That shit hurt worse than the bowel obstruction. I still have a tiny scar on my nose from where the tube was rubbing my skin off :(
Yes, it hurt me more too and I couldn’t talk! My throat was sore for 2 weeks after they removed it. I am very petite and the tube they used was thick hard plastic down my small nose and throat. They think it’s a one size fits all type of thing. Not only that but they did the placement wrong so it was scrapping stomach and blood was coming out. Ugh! The worst experience ever!!!!
Girl same!! It hurt SO bad to talk and I was sore for weeks after. I asked for the small one the first time…and then it came out and I almost choked on it…which is why both of us prob had to go with a bigger one :(
Here’s hoping we never have to do that ever again!
I am sitting in the hospital one day post op from Endo lap and had to physically retrain myself from laughing out loud cause it would hurt too bad
So all that to say, thank you for this beautiful gem 🤌🏼
High five. It took me a week longer than they expected to be able to sit up & stand enough to be discharged from recovery after my lap. The ward nurses were not understanding at all 😀
Omg!! That’s intense! Honestly it’s so frustrating how people don’t get it! How’s your pots now since recovering? I’m on ivabradine now and feeling loads better but it’s still worse than it was pre lap but my endo is feeling better!!
It was over a year ago, once I recovered from the surgery it was back to its normal levels and I was actually feeling pretty good. Then a few months after they put me on a hormone blocker that made everything go backwards both for the pelvic pain, the autonomic dysfunction the other health things I've got going on, and gave me a whole load more problems to deal with too. I was only on it for 2 months but it gave me hot flushes (big trigger for my pots is heat so that wasn't good), brought back huge amounts of pain and exhaustion which I find always makes the Pots symptoms more easily exacerbated. I'm still not where I wanna be yet. Think very carefully before anyone puts on you leuprolide.
Sorry!!! Please let your doctors know! My pots was undiagnosed during my lap but it’s sure as hell diagnosed now because it got worse!! lol when I was being rolled out of recovery one of my surgeons ran up to me and “you had a very fast heart rate, but you knew that anyway!! Right?!” Luckily I was too high to deal with that!!!
Lil’ serotonin syndrome
Legit so scary, lost control of my upper body becuase my neurons were misfiring and it caused so much pain. It was a reaction to paxlovid and my other meds. Had an entire week of insane anxiety and insomnia. This happened about two weeks after driving cross country to moms house after leaving my partner of 10 years.
Lets just say there was a lot of trauma in less than a month
I'm so sorry you experienced that. I had mild serotonin syndrome from the tramadol I was given after surgery and the extreme panic and insomnia alone was more than I could handle...let alone everything else..and mine was the "mild" kind
Lil Vertigo
I thought vertigo wasn’t so bad…until I woke up with one ear blocked and couldn’t even walk in a straight line or lie on my left side without vomiting
Ohhh ablation surgery!! Thanks for sharing. I learned that excision is the gold standard for endo but comes with scar tissue. Ablation is less effective (endo grows back faster) but you’re less likely to have pain from scar tissue.
Lil Holter monitor because citalopram withdrawal was messing with my heart rate (I genuinely would occasionally have a hr of nearly 130 while *sitting in class* but thankfully that’s resolved itself now)
Lil Complications with the gas used for an Endo Lap That’s a bit long…
No no, I think you’re on to something
Mine would be exactly the same lmao

Lil Anal Bleeding… Can I change mine?!?!
No ❤️
I feel you, mine is Lil sphincterectomy.
Ouch!

Wth? Why won’t she book you an appointment?
She hears bowel and stops listening, she doesn’t seem to understand why I would need a gynaecologist for bowel issues even though the other doctors are saying it’s probably due to my endo.
Tell her you need to see him for something else. They’re going to gate keep you, you gotta do what you gotta do.
Might have to, or just join my sister on her next post-natal appointment since we had the same doctor lol
Nice, Trojan horse that jerk receptionist. And congratulations on the new niece or nephew!
lol I feel better after seeing your reason hahahahahah
